The Archon is the limited monarch of Iebrye by absolution of the Ixinas Code, which acts as the National Constitution. Instituted nearly 2,000 years ago, the standing of the Archon Throne has withstood the test of time. Historically, the Archon goes beyond 2,000 years of Iebrye history, it was only 2,000 years ago however that the Archon was solidified as a legitimate monarch. When Iebyre fractured into a confederation of Noble-led states, the Archon became an elective position, every death or resignation of an Archon marking the election of a new one. Today, the passing or resignation of the Archon, enables the Elder Council to nominate a new Archon who must be approved by Parliament in unanimous vote. The new elected Archon comes into power as Monarch and representative of the nation, playing a pivotal executive role in overseeing the nation and running the nation's cabinet. In all, the Archon is held in high regard as the leader of the nation and is expected to spearhead domestic and foreign policy. The Federal Government is essentially the Cabinet under the Archon, led by the 'Lord Minister' appointed by the Archon. Lord Minister Heads the Archon's Cabinet and many times acts as a 'Vice Archon' in simpler terms. The Lord Minister works as an enforcer and manger of the outlined policies of the Archon, as well as a direct mentor and political stabilizer to the Archon's actions.
