POSTED BY UNITED MORELAND Here's my input, but I think many of you won't like what I'm about to say. 1. We should by no means limit RP. Anyone should be free to start one, there is in my opinion nothing worse in stopping creativity than saying you can't start a particular story you want to tell and almost feeling forced to get involved in a story you have no interest in. For example what if someone has no interest in military RP yet the officially sanctioned RP is a war, why would they get involved? 2. We shouldn't be aiming a post on a RP every one or two days. I am involved in two other RP regions (I know I need to get out more, one of them TIO has had around 20 RP posts per day for the last four months and at any one time has around six RP's going on giving everyone ability to focus on what interests them, the second Terra Cognita is less than two months old and has three active RP's getting several posts a day. That is the level we should be aiming for not a post every few days. 3. We seem to be focused on war. The need for a bogeyman, for that to happen we need large numbers of nations, that won't come without active RP. Think of it this way, we claim to be an active RP region, you get a message from TIO and Audax advertising themselves as active RP regions, you check out TIO and see lots of freedom to RP and lots of posts, then come here and see rules about not being able to start RP and there being maybe one post a day. Which region would you honestly join? 4. We need to make sure that the map reflects who is active, I think that's largely been said by others. 5. We need to be more open. Look at what we say you need to do to get on the map, be active on the message board, IRC and here, with a resident and citizenship application process. The process takes too long, if people want to join they need to be allowed to be active. I would propose rather than making them be active on IRC, because frankly most of the time I'm there no one is online or says anything. I think a better thing would be a post count, you make say ten posts you can get on the map, or ten RMB posts. Makes it much easier and quicker for new people to get on the map. I'm a big advocate for open RP, of course we need some rules but if someone has a good idea let them run with it rather than insisting only certain RP's are allowed or assuming the RP Council have to start them. ANOTHER POST BY UM Just for the record today in the TIO Diplomacy and Events thread there has already been 12 posts and that is one of seven RP categories we have there. I think we just need to be aware if we're promoting Audax as "active RP" that is what the competition is doing. |

POST BY SS Thank you for your open minded input Dave, I in no way disagree with it. I see the consequences of setting up restrictions and I feel it is best to discard the idea. I'll respond my thoughts to each part of your post. 1. I fully agree with this now, we claim to be open to new comers, but most of the policies we currently have date back to when Audax was first started. Audax was never meant to be open to new comers. It was meant to be a solitude, roleplaying region with only 15 members as we all seen what big numbers could do to a region (hint: TVF). However, it is time to discard that belief. The only reason Audax felt the need to grow was to compete in size with our big brother, the Versutian Federation. This brought new members and then some policies were placed that brought citizenship so that members of the VF couldn't come and ruin the region. I came up with the residency idea so that people choose to not want to get legally involved with Audax, they could still roleplay - and not be a citizen of Audax. The Active Member also reflects this as any member who posts ten times, gets the title. 2. All I can say is, we shouldn't force to make someone post. As we talked about this before Dave, if you force people to post, it feels like you're the only one interested and that you're dragging them along. 3. Audax was formed around war, so many have a hard time doing anything, but war. This has been largely discussed and needs to be fixed. War should be something someone fears, much like when Maddoma (ICly never existed and never happened) went to war with Freechrist. Freechrist was afraid and so was Maddoma, due to the disaster the war was causing. There was never going to be a winner, because of uprising that would of destroyed the Empire and set it into a very, very dark age. This is a roleplaying region, not a game of Victoria II, Civ 5 or Total War. 4. Fully agree. 5. I'm all open for people helping me create new policies and changing current ones. Residency is very, very easy to receive. Even then if someone does not want residency, they can post ten times to get the title of an Active Member. This could be seriously be used to make the region more open to new comers. ANOTHER POST BY SS I personally wanted to say thank you for everyone's input they given. It will all be used during my term to ensure any new policies stays faithful to the regions population and its self image. Long Live The Republic! |

Here is a short list of races that are accepted or have been denied into Audaxia RP's. To simplify things we are to assume all races have the same limitations, and abilities of any human but has differences in physical appearance. Any future races that are put into question will be added to the list as "accepted", "pending" or "denied". Any race that is "pending" will not be used in any RP until accepted. Half Breeds / Halflings are allowed by using accepted races only.
