Nyguno Hong, Gondor's Lord Helm Guardian, was being sent to the United Socialist States of Die Erworbenen Namen. King Eldarion had felt that the soured relations of old between Gondor and DEN had passed, as the reasons for the sour relations had passed as well. Eldarion felt that Gondor needed more allies than just Ascarenor in order to be truly felt as a power within Audaxia. While Gondor and DEN had their differences of opinion, they were far more alike than they cared to admit. They both had monarchs, had a cabinet to advise those monarchs, valued strong national defense, and were fiercely patriotic. Nyguno looked out his plane window at the sight of Hochburg off in the distance. The sprawling mass of a city was magnificent from a bird's eye view, with the tops of skyscrapers glinting sunlight off into the distance. But it was his landing place that gathered more of his attention. He was landing at some sort of airfield, and he could see military personnel everywhere bustling about on their daily patrols and various assignments. The red and gold banner of the Namenian flag waved in the frosty wind and was a testament to their pride in their country, which made Nyguno smile. The hammer and sickle reminded him that he was coming to a socialist nation, and one that was an economic machine. Gondor wasn't socialist, but didn't mind socialism and even light forms of communism, though authoritarian communism, or fascism for that matter, was something that the King abhorred with a burning passion. The Lord Helm Guardian was interested to see just how socialist they were, and if they would be open to an alliance with a more laissez-faire style nation such as Gondor. He was informed by one of his entourage that his flight was landing, and that the Namenians were expecting him. His entourage consisted of several aides and Royal Guardsmen who boldly brandished their M4 carbines in their arms, there being 10 of them to protect him. One would notice their bright red uniforms, with white caps and the White Tree upon their chests. Their uniforms radiated a semblance of pride and fervor for Gondor that all the Guardsmen had--they were Gondor's best and brightest. As the plane soon came to a landing, the door was opened and the stairway slid down from the plane door, with the Royal Guardsmen splitting up into two groups of five on each side of the stairs and giving the Lord Helm Guardian a full salute, to which he gave a wave and a nod. His entourage piled off the plane after him, carrying briefcases containing important documents and other odds and ends for Nyguno's visit should he need them. Nyguno looked out for the Namenian representative who he was to meet, a smirk slowly crossing his face. Edited by Gondor, Jun 29 2016, 03:08 AM.

"Well, yes. Our reasons are quite simple. We seek like minded nations who value national sovereignty and individual freedoms. We may be monarchists, but the government in Gondor stays out of the every day lives of the people. We also seek to counter the growing imperialist ambitions of the west. We especially are wary of the motives of the Maddoman Empire. We wish to build alliances that can check their role as the world's main superpower. We fear what their plans may be concerning current world events. Their agenda is hidden from all of us, but I don't trust it and my King is paranoid of it even more than myself. But beyond that, we seek to improve our military infrastructure, economic development, and overall quality of life for our people. We see your nation as one that shares these values and views. DEN may be secretive, but your opposition to Maddoman encroachment is not so subtle." |

"Well, then, that is a good reason, is it not?" Vladimir said, letting out another smoke filled breath and returning to the conversation. "Is that all that you wanted? Surely there's got to be more? If not, well, then we can totally discuss this. What's your suggestions?" |

"We know that DEN has a cutting edge arms manufacturing and technology industry. Gondor is having...trouble coming up with a critical element for our air force. The battlefield is ever evolving, especially in the air. As the head of our Ministry of Defense, I've seen some of our engineers' designs for vehicles and equipment, and I've been less than impressed. We need some help with new, more modern equipment. We've heard about your famous military surplus, but Gondor desires... more. One thing that we specifically are looking to purchase is a new tank model and a stealth fighter. We are willing to pay for them." |

"Okay. What exactly are you looking to recieve, may I ask?" Vladimir responded, placing the cigarette carefully between his fingers and holding it there. "We have quite a lot of things, some for sale, others not so much, and some only for our allies. So, the question is now what do you want, and can we provide it for the price and request you made?" |

"We are in the market for a strike fighter, a multirole fighter, and an air superiority fighter. As far as tanks and armor go, we are looking for a vehicle that can not only be designed for use as a main battle tank, but also for armored vehicles, artillery, and even armored personnel carriers. What we have envisioned is versatility on the battlefield." |

"So you are looking for... What? While that is truly a good list and fair requirements, you could be asking for anything from our stocks. And if we could supply, would you be our ally? And if so, for how long?" Vladimir asked, looking out the window then back at him. |

"If you could supply, we would be your ally. Yes. What we are looking for isn't by any means in your normal stocks. Your military keeps things under wraps, so you tell me what it is that I need. I would tell ypu, but I simply lack the knowledge. And far as the length of the alliance goes, we aren't looking for any temporary alliances. That would be foolhardy. But know this: we know you are socialist, and that your inclinations in Unirel may be to support the Communists. We have no want to be involved in that war, as we have no reason to fight. That fight isn't ours."

"Very smart. You should congratulate whoever searched for this information. That being said, you are correct. We do have a plethora of items. Such as the T-5... Our newest, most powerful MBT. And our lighter tanks as well." Vladimir replied, placing the cigarette back in his mouth. "what are the terms, then?" |

"The terms at this point are quite flexible. Before we set them, if I may, I would like to know exactly what it is that I am dealing with. Obviously DEN will produce the vehicles for Gondor, and Gondor will pay for them. We can talk cost and vehicle orders once we have looked at things more closely." |

"What do you mean, exactly what you are dealing with? You are dealing with a militaristic country, who has a couple of vehicles and weapons, mainly the newest ones, that are only for sale for special and specific allies of the United Socialist States. We need to know you are on our side before we do anything." |
