Hello -- a note of introduction This is Susan Bright, poet, author of 19 collections of poetry and, for 35 years now, editor and publisher of Plain View Press, an independent literary publishing house which publishes art quality, issue based work by poets, novelists and non fiction writers who use the art of words to create meaning. Our process is collaborative. Since most funding for literature in the United States, and elsewhere, is local or regional, once we accept a work for publication we work with the writer to find funding for the project. We facilitate the collaborative process during every stage of book production in a sequence of steps which result in beautiful and important books. Our books don't go out of print and are available worldwide. We have published more than 300 books and more than 400 individual writers whose work has appeared in single author editions and anthologies. We are not beholding to any single grantor, corporation or individual -- are an independent publishing house, and for that reason are able, and eager, to publish activist work, dealing with the major issues in out time. The name of the press means: let people speak the truth about their lives. Pls. go to our website: http://www.plainviewpress.net to get more information about how to submit work, to email me directly or to simply browse the catalog page. Onward Susan Bright, Poet/Publisher, Plain View Press |
