The Brujah are one of the thirteen vampire clans of the Classic World of Darkness and one of the six main clans of the Camarilla. Quick to anger and always passionate in the Modern Nights, they have been regaining their position as a clan of lofty philosophers and activists and are often pointed as a clan that should not be messed with.

Due to their inherent clan weakness, Brujah find it twice as hard to resist the temptation of a frenzy.

Organisation

As a clan, the Brujah have next to no organization. Outside of the clan, the Brujah adore building structures, and then other Brujah adore tearing them down. Among modern Brujah, the primary structure is the division between the Iconoclast and Idealist factions of society.
Iconoclast: the iconoclasts are rebels and almost uniformly young Brujah. They fulfill the clan's stereotypical image as mad, bad and dangerous to know.

Idealist: in contrast to iconoclasts, idealists are the intellectuals and theorists of the clan. They are usually elders or ancillae, and the elders are idealists simply because their habits haven't changed since their embrace.

Brujah Antitribu

The Sabbat-aligned Brujah are perhaps the ultimate degeneration of the Brujah and potentially what they may become. Violent to the extreme, they often constitute the bulk of the Sabbat's cannon fodder.

Culture

All that a Brujah does, he does with passion that is his curse and his blessing. Brujah adopt passions and causes, which they support with volume and vitriol. Some Brujah follow charismatic members of their clan, while others prefer stances of blatant, defiant individualism. Many Brujah are glad to have an opportunity to speak their minds, then indulge in a bit of destruction afterward to illustrate their points. As divided as the Clan is, all work against each other in some way, and even when some rivalries within are more embittered than in any other Clan, they still keep together (after the proverb "I against my brother, my brothers and I against my cousins, my cousins and I against strangers"). If any Kindred not of their blood would oppose a Brujah, they would face the wrath of the whole Clan, as even idealists would defend iconoclasts in front of the Prince and each iconoclast is more than ready to beat someone up who humilated a Clan member within Elysium.

Two conventions the clan does support universally are the Rant and the Rave. Rants are just that: Informal meetings of Brujah (and other insurgents, Kindred and kine) at which anyone who can scream loudly enough can have her opinions heard. Raves, named after the all-night techno dance parties started in England, are social gatherings in the guise of huge-scale musical or entertainment events. One usually leads to another, and clues to the locations of the events are often hidden in the media of the gathering in progress.

Embraces

The Brujah are infamous for ignoring the Tradition of progeny, and consequently Embrace whomever they feel like whenever they feel like. Brujah are stereotypically the source for most Caitiff because they are presumed to neglect training their childer.

Celerity

Celerity is a Discipline that grants vampires supernatural speed and finesse by expending vitae. Normally each dot provides an additional action that can be used for movement, attacking, or other physical feats in a single round without penalties for multiple actions. This extraordinary speed violates the laws of physics in that the Cainite doesn't experience any change in momentum, friction, etc. A knife thrown by someone using Celerity isn't any faster, and a vampire moving at incredible speeds will never catch fire no matter how fast they move.

Unofficial Abilities

Standard Abilities
  • Level One - If the vampire sees/knows that a certain person is going to perform an action, they are able to use their Celerity to react faster in response. For example: if they know an opponent is going to draw a gun, they can use level 1 Celerity to draw your gun before they do. However, you need knowledge that they're going to do it before you complete this action, such as seeing them reach for their gun.
  • Level Two -The vampire's movement speed is at constant peak human sprint speed.
  • Level Three - The vampire's movement speed is double the speed of anyone that doesn't possess Celerity.
  • Level Four - The vampire's movement speed is triple the speed of anyone that doesn't possess Celerity.
  • Level Five - The vampire moves in a blur when running with Celerity activated.

Presence

Presence is a Discipline of supernatural allure and emotional manipulation. It is a fairly common among vampires, especially within the Camarilla, both because of its versatility and because of its subtlety. Many Presence powers can be used upon large groups of people at once and transcend virtually all boundaries of gender, race, religion, class, and supernatural status. Though Presence can be resisted through force of will and by ignoring the user, most do not realize when it is being used upon them.

Official Abilities

Standard Abilities
  • Level One - Awe: Make your words seem interesting and reasonable to those who hear you
  • Level Two - Dread Gaze: Frighten someone with a look
  • Level Three - Entrancement: Make someone obsessively want to please you
  • Level Four - Summon: Compel someone to come to you immediately
  • Level Five - Majesty: Appear as a figure of absolute power and authority.
