Just a hello from a newbie here. I'm in the process of moving to Ipswich so will be looking to get to know some gamers in the area.

I've just ordered these rules, as I liked the look of them when I saw them played at the weekend, otherwise I don't know if they are any good or not! Up to now I've been more of a BattlefrontWW2 sort of gamer when it comes to WW2! (Also - any Napoleonics players in the area? )

All the best,

Geoff

My brother my dad and I all play Flames of War and live In Ipswich, we are having a Birthday bash this Saturday and im sure on the Falmes of War table any of us will give you an introductory start. Most of the FoW guys arrive around Five, just pop up, theres a Birthday thread somewhere on the forum as well. Any areas of WW your interested in playing?

Thanks for the invite, I'm not in the area just yet, so can't pop in. But will hopefully be there soon. Re periods, I like the sound of early France 1940, Russia 1942, Africa & Italy - all of it! and 1944 France/Low countries. Quite a lot really. No chance of buying armies for all that lot! Quite happy to choose one of em for a dip in to the rules system. Currently have 20mm and 6mm WW2 for rapid fire and Spearhead, but my club doesnt play the period very often so they don't see the light of day much. I guess I could always try FOW out with my 6mm stuff to see how the rules go!

All the best,

Geoff

Pretty much so far there are rules ofr the following:

Eastern Europe 1942-43
Aftrika 1942-43

D-day
Russian planned Operation Bagration up to Warsaw
And they've just started to release rules for Operation Market Garden

Not really any early war stuff yet though.

Hi - Welcome to the forum.

I'm a new FoW player as well. I live in Ipswich and would be happy to show you the ropes as much as I can. I've only made a couple of visits to the Club, but am in the process of painting up a Russian Udarny Strelkovy 1944-45. I'm also a big MARKET GARDEN fan so am looking to purchase a late war British battlegroup.

I've got some Late War Germans and British paratroopers in 20mm. I used to play Rapid Fire, but that was a long time ago. Would be happy to revisit.

Let us know when you're settled in and then come across.
