Hordes Factions; What drew you to pick one.

Hey guys, just throwing out a a quick consensus to the masses about hordes, and what if anything drew you to be playing it?

I started with Skorne, but they quickly faded as a faction due to the fact I didnt really like them. So went with Circle as a second faction, mostly due to the fact, I look at them, at least the box set and go "I KNOW how to play that." That and the Kaya art/model has always appealed to me as well.

Well im leaning towards Trollkin.. i did try Legion a few years ago when Richard and i first introduced everyone to PP but i just didnt feel "comfortable" playing as the "Badguy".. i think like you said it what firsts "draws your eye to" that makes you pick a faction and your basic "gut instinct".... i just like the idea that you can use your same "playing style" with either Warmachine or Hordes and still have fun....right back to writting up my "Winter Troll" army list.....mmmmm "Ice is nice!!" B)

That list makes me shudder with all kinds of fear, actully
trolls in general worry me, sheerly because you cant rely on them dying when you want them to, because of the tough rolls.

That and stationry, not fun.

I actually started playing Hordes before Warmachine and it was the Warpwolf miniature / Circle warpack (along with the Everblight warpack) that got me into it.
Although I'm now in the process of finishing a SKorne Titan herd - after using Trollbloods for a year or two..

Basically it was the overall quality of the sculpts and the Hordes Primal book that got me hooked - it just oozed quality - on par with GW's best, if not better..

I've now moved primarly over to Warmachine and I've never looked back :D

Its nice to see people wanting to play other factions, since for the most part, Everyone in the club seems to want to play circle or legion, at least the majority, we've got a few Troll( and a few maybes) players & some Skorne. But a bunch of Circle and Legion. Which, kinda makes a me a little sad, but its sorta cool too, whatever happens, I'll be playing circle in rampage '08

i know i may be jumping the gun a bit but when my mercs reach 500points i would like to start hordes. the problem i am having is i like each of the armies (exept Blight just cause i dont like the beasties.) so what i am asking is what are the strenghts, weaknesses and playing styles of each hordes faction?

I'm just hoping that they bring out more Hordes factions as I can't seem to take to any really. Circle is my fav, for the nature aspect and their beasts are pretty cool. I especially like the Tharn.
But, see I'm looking at it without analysing the play-styles of the different factions. The figures must impress me first. I want to enjoy painting them, or I won't enjoy playing them.

Hey Cam

Gelfin's probably the dude to speak to about painting, being he's our resident brush thrall.

but to get a look if you have a lookee through here you might get idea's

If you want to sign up and such you can search, whuch would help.

As for more releases,

next hordes book is out in '09, which is fair enough althought a lot of deidcated hordes players have been moaning a little as since the release they've had almost non-stop releases for hordes, and still have a few to come.
