I personally found the book rather boring.. Up until Edward came back anyway =] *Edward FTW!*
(Sorry Jacob fans ;) )
But I can see why it was important. It set up the plot for the third book, and filled in some valuable info.
Does anyone else agree? All the people i've talked to think this book is the best...
But I'd like to know your guy's opinon =]

I'm yay all the way. Sorry, I have an odd attachment to all the twilight books despite if Edward is in them. Just as long as he comes back ;)

Actually, I have to say that I really didn't like New Moon. I didn't like seeing Bella so obviously incapable of being happy or even doing anything without Edward. And dragging Jacob down with her didn't make me too happy. I also detest the book because it made me dislike Edward (is that even possible?) and I'm just now starting to un-dislike Edward by his redemption in Eclipse...

New moon was the most depressing of the three, but if you think about it it was the most important aspect of Edward and Bella's relationship. They can't be with out each other.

Making Edward Say "Bella Who?"

Yes...good point! At the end they both learned a lot about their love, that it wasn't fake (for lack of a better word...) and they could never be apart without suffering.

I'm half and half. I find New Moon a real page turner (I just really want to get back to Edward!) but I also find it a bit depressing, obviously.

SteMe did really well though, to make it depressing, but not overdone. She could have gone on and on with the details making us more and more miserable, but she didn't drag it out. We got the idea. We could (obviously) understand a bit about what Bella was feeling (we missed Edward too!). So I think she did well!

So...New Moon is a good book, but in a different way to Twilight. I enjoyed it, but not in a happy way.

New Moon is definately not my favorite, but yes, it did have some crucial plot lines that needed to be there for Elcipse.

Because, yes, obviously Bella and Edward cannot survive without each other. But yes, at the same time it was slightly depressing, but it needed to be. I don't think she dragged Jacob down with her though. If anything, Jacob dragged her out of the fog and helped her see the light. And as much as I liked Jacob in this one, had Edward never come back, Bella would be with Jacob now instead of Edward and it just wouldn't be the same.

I do like New Moon, so don't get me wrong, it's just that it made me really sad to see that Jacob got hurt almost as much as Bella in the end. (Mind you, this was back before I thought of Jacob as a butthead, but I am starting to feel remorse for him as I read Eclipse over and over.)

Amen to that!

I actually really didn't like Jacob when I first read Eclipse and some of New Moon, but after re-reading the books I realised that it is actually all Bella's fault!

Don't get me wrong, I love Bella, but she is so selfish sometimes. In New Moon she only half-heartedly tried to ward off Jacob's advances. She could have just said no. But she needed him too much, as a friend. And it went too far. She lead him on, even though she knew in her heart she would pick Edward when a choice had to be made.

I feel very, truly sorry for Jacob.

Amethyst, your realization makes me very happy. Every Twilight fan should feel bad for Jacob. He truly loves Bella, and she barely cares. She even has trouble being a friend to him in Eclipse. It just makes me angry.

I know what you mean about Bella taking advantage of him, but I hated how he was treating her too. Sure I didn't notice Bella was leading him on untill Jacob changed into a Werewolf. I started hating him then because he was trying to make Bella do things that she didn't really want to do. But I still love him!

Yeah, I thought he was kind of a jerk. He was trying to take advantage of her, almost... like saying that he loved her and stuff.

Mind you, I still LOVED the book!

Yeah, I know he loves her and all but the way he went upon expressing his emotions was all rong. He was manipulating her and acting like an immature prick. But I still love Jake, but I love Edward too. And the book!
xD
