OMG... I would die if my parents didn't let me read the Twilight saga. Why on earth won't they let you continue reading them? There's nothing bad in them until Breaking Dawn, really, and even that's pretty PG-13....

.... wow. just.... wow. i can't imagine my parents not letting me read anything... i tend to be allowed to do whatever i want, within reason. i can't imagine them telling me i couldn't read something just becuase they didn't like the story or something.

My deepest sympathies to you, my friend. lol

I think we have to expect the opinions of our parents...some people are just not fans of Vampires, love stories, violence etc. etc. for whatever reason (religion being the first and foremost in my mind).

But I also think there comes a point when a kid (person/teen/dude, whatever) needs to make decisions for themselves.
Personally, I think any person over the age of 11 (of course this depends on their maturity level...) should be able to make their own decisions about what they read and watch (isn't everything in the media anyway?) and adults/parents should respect our decision to do so. If we are mature enough to handle the crap (for lack of a better word) that goes on in high school, why can't we be allowed to read the miraculousness of Twilight, a book more timid that the stuff I witness in the hallways at school.

:P there's my mini-rant.

I have a friend my age who isn't allowed to watch Twilight atleast until her mom watches it. Or until it comes out on DVD.

Twilightlove, have your parents read the rest of the books? If not, you might ask them to and see what they say. Personally, I think that Eclipse is pretty much just as appropriate as New Moon (there's some scary thematic stuff with the Volturi, but you probably already know that), and I suspect that if they approved of the first two books, they should approve of Eclipse. Breaking Dawn is a little bit more scandalous though, so I could sort of see why they wouldn't want you reading that if you are kind of young. Not that you aren't mature enough, I'm just saying that I might be able to see where they are coming from (I mean I'm 25 and I was scandalized when I read it!).

wow thank you guys so much for your sympathy! i really appreciate it! :) well it was after i read New Moon that my parents freaked out. no, they have not read the last to but my mom did read the first one and said she didn't like it(which i don't understand, well i guess i just depends on what you like)*cries* i know i think our parents should respect out opinions! yeah i got in a big "talk" over this book with my parents which i was really mad at them for a while but my madness went down after a while where as after that we didn't talk about Twilight for a while because it brought up bad memories and sadness(for me). later: After a while i thought you know what since they won't let me read or watch the movie i can at least talk about it right? well one night after i got home from babysitting(which was late and my parents were asleep) i got on the computer and was looking a Twilight stuff, well one of my parent get up for some reason and they come in my room and asked if i was looking a Twilight stuff, of course i had to say yes, and they said how dissapionted they were in me and we would talk the morning. we didn't talk the next day about it( which i'm soooooooooooooooooooo happy about). so yeah, that is the latest update for ya.
