What the hell are they thinking? He isn't even that big of a mainstream star and will probably not attract very many people. Couldn't they use that money for like, paying The Rock to come back for a one-shot deal or something? I'd much rather have that than Mayweather. |

Well 20 million is a lot of money but if it translates into huge buyrates then it's worth it. Vince is taking a risk I'll admit but you don't get anywhere sometimes unless you take a risk and this harks back to the Vince McMahon of old who wasn't afraid to take a gamble. And I would assume that Vince tried to get The Rock for a major angle/Match but Rock probably turned it down. Anyway we know the Rock will be at the HOF thia year inducting his grandfather and father so an appearance at Mania seems more likely than it was before. |

They aren't brining the guy in just to improve the buyrates for one show. It's all a part of WWE trying to brand itself as something mainstream and hip and exciting and like anything can happen in the wwe |

http://sports.yahoo.com/box/news?slug=ap-w...ov=ap&type=lgns The AP released the amount earlier today. I understand the WWE trying to broaden their audience into more boxing fans, but I honestly don't think it's going to have the plus effect that they are expecting. Boxing in general has shown a decline of fan base over the past 2 years, mostly due to the growing popularity of the UFC. |

Floyd Mayweather has been continuing making some strong comments since this week’s WWE WrestleMania 224 press conference. He said “I’m not going to stop until I get the championship belt,” in a recent interview with TheSweetScience.com. He also added “I’m staying here until I become the WWE champ.” Floyd Mayweather said, “I’m a risk taker,” while he was explaining why he accepted the deal to appear at WWE WrestleMania 24. “I wanted to dip into different fields and different avenues, that’s what I love to do. What better place to do it than WWE?” http://www.prowrestling.com/article/news/8561 Hilarious, Is all I gotta say. |

I just watched the Big Show/Mayweather "trash talk" from last night on Raw... is it just me or was that kinda ridiculous? The Big Show tried to do the atypical trash talk promo and Mayweather seemed like he had no idea what he was doing. I have heard this is supposed to be one of the biggest/best trash talkers in boxing and at least to me he came off as kind of an idiot. Maybe they should think about scripting what he says from here on out, instead of just letting him go with what he thinks best. I don't know, opinions on the segment? |

I hated the segment, Mayweather is awful on the mic. I hope Big Show destroys him. The match better deliver otherwise this storyline could be an early contender for the gooker award of the year. |

I honestly think Mayweather was thinking too much about being a "typical" WWE superstar with the promo last night. If he is supposed to be playing the face in the feud, it's going to be different for him because he used to being slammed for anything he says. He can trash talk with the best of them, his rant against MMA started a fire storm in the UFC. |

If that is the case, then he needs to stop holding back. We know he is not the typical WWE guy, instead of trying to be that guy, be something unique and show why you are one of the best trash talkers... maybe go over a couple of things with him that he can't/shouldn't say (wrestling is scripted/boxing is real ect. ect.) and have him step up. As of right now I am not impressed and like I said in his segment on RAW last night he didn't seem intelligent or well versed in talking shit. I would love to see some passion behind what he says or actually have some kind of emotion in regards to why I should care, but as of right now they are not bringing it, at least for me that is. |

His responses didn't seem natural, I thought it might have been like a pretaped thing, so he wasn't actually talking live with the bigshow, rather they taped his part in advance inserting pauses so that big show could respond and make the whole thing seem live. I have no idea how they did that segment, but to me his responses weren't always matching what the bigshow was saying. They've done something similar before. |

I was reading about this on the Observer and Meltzer said this has gotta be made up. Tyson who was a much bigger draw(as a MAINSTREAM name, I really see no debate in this) got 3.5 million dollars.. Dave said if Mayweather is getting 20 million than he would need to amount to 800,000! PPV buys just to be worth it. I don't believe this number WWE is throwing out. Atleast I dont want to. |

From 411mania "According to PWInsider.com, one wrestler said that Mayweather's crew, "Got their asses handed to them." Another wrestler mentioned that, "The company was 10-seconds away from having a legit beat down take place on TV." Shane McMahon was knocked down during the brawl, and afterwards there was a lot of tension between the two sides." Big Show's posse rules. Big Show is simply awesome in this feud. I hope Big Show totally humiliates Mayweather. Mayweather will most likely win but at least for 20 million, he better take at least one chokeslam, Big Show's devastating chops, a legdrop and a final cut. He is getting paid so much money so he should take at least some bumps. I also think the promo last night was the start of the double turn.
