Iv read randon posts all over the place of PPVs and shows people have attended, so I thought I'd make a thread about it.

So what shows have you attended and was there something about it that really stood out?

Me, iv only gone to 2 house shows, so they wernt really that great. Living in aus it was just enough seeing all the wrestlers live for a chance that did it for me... its not like I can easily travel to see it. I did manage to see Eddie guerrero (RIP) live though before he died so that stands out like nothing else. Haha and I did see Cena without the spinner title right after mania to

3 years after they came last as well, smackdown are finnally coming back to my town. Edge got injured in 05 literaly JUST before the event, I was crushed, so hopefully I get to see him live :angie:

My first show was a house show in 2003, nothing really special about it, I got to meet Christian, D-von, Maven, and ref Nick Patrick in the parking lot after the show because we got lost.

I went to Raw in February 04 and we got a title change, Stone Cold, Vince McMahon vs. Eric Bischoff, Brock Lesnar, Evolution it was a fun night even though we sat in nosebleeds.

two months after that was a Smackdown house show on Easter. That was my favorite show, I got to see Eddie Guerrero, John Cena, Big Show, Kurt Angle, RVD, The Dudleys, Too Cool, etc.

the last show i went to was Raw this past October I got to see Triple H, Umaga, Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy walked right past where I was sitting, Candice damn near killed herself, Kennedy lost his match...it was a good night.

As far as WWE goes...I've been at a March 99 house show, the Raw where Y2J debuted and KANEPAC won the tag titles back, Wrestlemania 22, and No Mercy 2007.

The best was easily WM22, just because it's Wrestlemania and it's beyond anything else in wrestling for the most part.

Been to dozens of shows it seems, started back in 1988, I went to an AWA show in my hometown of Two Rivers, I went to a WWE show once every year from 1989 to 1992 in Green Bay. Then I went to Raw in GB in 96 and 97, but didn't go again until 05, first Raw then Smackdown and ECW in 06, then Raw in 07 and a houseshow of Raw just one week ago today. Here are some of the guys I saw live:

AWA- Baron Von Raschke, Wahoo McDaniel, Greg Gagne, Bad Company, The Terminators

WWF 89-92- Andre the Giant, Earthquake, The LOD, Typhoon, Ultimate Warrior, Ted Dibiase, Jim Brunzell, Tito Santana, the Beverly Brothers, The Barbarian, Haku

WWF Raw 96- Undertaker, Mankind, Steve Austin, Billy Gunn, Sycho Sid, HBK, Marc Mero, Ultimate Warrior was supposed to be there but that was the exact night he got suspended for no-showing.

WWF Raw 97- Chyna, Triple H, The Hart Foundation, Undertaker, HBK, The Patriot, Big Van Vader.

WWE Raw 05- Chris Benoit, Tajiri, Vince McMahon, Eric Bischoff, Paul Heyman, Batista, Triple H, Ric Flair, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Jericho, this was the show that featured Mr. McMahon, Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman all in the ring at the same time for the first time ever.

WWE Smackdown 06- Chris Benoit, JBL, The Great Khali, Bobby Lashley, Mr. Kennedy was injured so he couldn't have wrestled on the show.

WWE Raw 07- Hornswaggle, Mr. McMahon, JBL, The Great Khali, Batista, Triple H, Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Orton, Cena, most of the WWE roster came to the show as this was the night where Mr. McMahon's bastard son was revealed.

WWE Raw houseshow- Brian Kendrick, Super Crazy, Santino Marella, D-X, Umaga, Snitsky, Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Mr. Kennedy received a great ovation here and beat Santino Marella in a pretty decent match.

My first show was Battle Royal at Albert Hall in 91. Excellent show, many top stars at this show.

I also went to UK Rampage 92 and SummerSlam 92. SummerSlam 92 was amazing and wwe should do a ppv in the UK.

After that didn't get a chance to go to a wwe show in many years.

Next one i went to was Capital Carnage 98. Then Insurextion 2000 and Rebellion 2000(Angle beat Austin, Rock & Rikishi in a 4 way match)

Then one wwe show in 2001, can't remember what it was called. All i remember is that Taker beat Austin & HHH in a handicap match.

Then one show in 2002, can't remember what it was. Maybe Rebellion or Insurextion.

Smackdown Tour De Force June or July 2003.
Docklands arena. Big Show vs Lesnar, Benoit vs Cena. Since i can't remember much from the old events, this one was probably my fave show i attended. I got to meet almost every smackdown superstar. Took pics with almost all of em. Nunzio was the first guy to come out, nice guy. Then other stars came out such as: Noble, Big Show(he was smoking and asked if there was any good place to eat round here lol), Nidia, Brian Kendrick, Hass & Benjamin, Referee Jimmy Korderas, Sean O Haire, Benoit, Rey & Rhyno. Los Guerreros were there too but they didn't come out to us, they waved at us but they were discussing something important with one of the bookers. Had good convos with Big Show, Benoit, Rhyno & Rey. I still have my smackdown tour de force cd somewhere and i put up my pic with Big Show in a frame. When i met rey he didn't have the mask on. Thing is i feel kinda sad when i look back at the Benoit moment. He was a quiet guy, seemed a bit upset but was very nice. I met him, got pic taken with him and he was a very nice guy. Him and Rhyno both came out together and both were very nice. Rey was awesome, 2nd time i met him. Met him before at a wcw show.

Went to raw live n loaded in 2004, i think the main event was a 6 man tag- Orton, HBK & i think Benoit was their partner and they faced Evolution.

Most recent show i went to was the raw show in london last year. The Cena/HBK one hour match.

Non wwe shows i went too:

WWA Tour(World Wrestling Alliance)
I think this was in 2001 or 2002. Ok i was in college and my friend went to one of the shows on Monday. I wasn't interested in this event at all, loads of crap wrestlers and jobbers were there.

BRET HART yep he was the commish and i didn't think he would be there but he was. If i knew he was there i would have gone. Just didn't think that such a big star like Bret would be at this event. So my friend phoned me up, and he put me on the phone to THE ROADDOGG. I WAS like fucking hell, no way, and it was him. He was saying OH YOU DIDN'T KNOW lol. I told my friend, thats it on wednesday im going up there to this tour. So we went and i got great seats. Yeh tickets on the day coz not many ppl were there. Scott Stiener, GM Sexay, Nathan Jones + many more. I remember one match and Gangrel faced Luna.

Best thing about that show, BRET HART was there. After the show he came out and i met him and many fans talked to Bret. I asked him what footy team he likes, i think he said he likes Man Utd. It was either Man Utd or Chelsea. Boo i hate both teams. Great moment seeing Bret. Also Luna came out and talked to the fans. She was a very nice person.

WCW Nitro- November 2000- Docklands arena. Met Sting, Rey Mysterio. Rey is such a great guy, he was first guy to come out and meet the fans. He was so nice. Booker T was the world champ that time. Met Normal Smiley also and some others, can't remember well. Oh and over here Finlay was rude to MANY of the fans. That's why i don't like Finlay. I am so glad i got to see a WCW show. A couple of months later WCW was finished, so i am glad i went to that show.

Overall: So glad i went to that WCW show because we know what happened in March. Also so glad i got to meet Bret because i don't think he made any other uk wrestling appearance after that.

I've met Austin & Rikishi also but in stores when they came to promote action figures/dvds.

My first show was back in 02 or 03 and it was a RAW before survivor series. Evolution, Dudleys, Goldberg, Stone Cold. It was a good show. HHH ran right by me when running through the crowd n almost took me out.

After that I've gone to 2 or 3 smackdown shows, one was the smackdown right after WM 20, so it was a good show. I dont remember the other ones.

SummerSlam '06. I loved this show. Booker vs Batista. Cena vs Edge in Boston with half the arena rooting for Edge, half for Cena was great. DX vs a massive amount of people. Sabu vs the Big Show in a spotfest

I am a rube of the highest order

I don't remember the year but my first show was a Smackdown. I remember Hulk Hogan being there and I remember Edge teamed with him that night. I also seem to remember Triple H going nuts at the end of some tag match featuring Chris Jericho and Christian. It was Randy Orton's debut year and the show was in Bridgeport.

My next event was the Raw where Jeff Hardy returned and Edge got dumped into Long Island Sound by Cena. That was a great night, and really fun. Being there for Jeff's return was awesome and the crowd really went nuts for him. It was almost deafening.

Most recent show was the Raw 15th anniversary and that was just surreal. I met Ron Simmons up in the crowd. I got to chant Gillberg. I saw some of my favorite wrestlers ever. That was just a great night all around.

I've also been to 3 indy events down here in CT and an indy event up in New Jersey.

For Admin.

I've been to 2 SD, 1 Raw and 1 ECW.

First SD!: It was right before Summerslam where Brock beat Rock for the WWE title. I remember The Rock getting jumped by Eddie Guerrero...

First Raw: Was during RVD's title reign. Maine event was Cena vs. RVD but ended with Edge interfering.

Second SD!/First ECW: The SD! wasn't too memorable. It was during the Vince McMahon death angle and I remember Finaly/Matt Hardy wrestled in an epic match. The ECW I went to just happened to be the one to feature Benoit's last match.

I will be going to WM in 2 weeks.

Only been to one, and it was part of the Survivor Series tour they did over here in 06 at Nottingham.

The atmosphere live is really something else, and even if you hate the face wrestler, you can't help cheer for them.

Most memorable thing about it was Umaga wearing Orton's trunks over his own as part pf a rib. Me and my friend sat there and went "is he REALLY wearing Orton's trunks?!"

That and I got to see Rated RKO and Maria in person :angie:

Been to two. First wasin May 2003, Tour De Force show. Different venue from Dynamites but robably the same show

Went to a Raw show last October two weeks after Cena got injured. For some reason Hardcore Holly got a massive pop. I saw D.H. Smith before he made his TV debut

I don't think I heard anything as lund in my life than when Jeff Hardy and Triple H, Kids were jumping over each other to get to them and when they came out at the end of the show it was all kinds of crazy.

Unless they do a PPV in either Wembly or Old Tarfford I won't see a PPV.

After a show a friend of mine served Edge and Lita in a bar and Edge give him a £10 tip. So while he steals his friends girlfriends he's an excellent tipper.

I can't see them doing a PPV from over here again, and if they did, the only place I see them doing it is Earls Court.

Edit: Capn', are there any indies in Aus?

To my knowledge, I could be the first person to be on TV for a ROH, TNA, and WWE PPV. In 2007 I went to TNA Lockdown in April, WWE Judgment Day in May, and ROH Driven in June. Probably the most fun 3 months of my life. I'll divide them with more organization:

WWE:
Pre-Wrestlemania House show featuring Booker T. vs HHH in 2003
Raw with Cena coming to Raw in the draft
Raw and Smackdown Supershow
I'm thinking there was another Raw
Judgment Day 2007 (Cena vs Khali was WAY more fun live than it probably came across) nosebleeds for JD, the rest were lower bowl, but not real close, good times though.

TNA:
Lockdown '07, was more fun live, the MCMG are something to see, this was before they were official, their double teams were so quick and precise, plus seeing Sting, the guy who got me into wrestling, and AJ's bump were great. Heckeling during the blindfold match was good shit too. Also, seeing a "women shouldn't wrestle" sign, then Gail Kim doing the dive and the bastard putting his sign away was great too. Also, giving Steiner shit about roids, then him giving us a "fuck you" with the Frankensteiner. 8th row for this.

ROH:
Driven 2007, easily the best show I've ever been to, and 4th row.

Other Indy:
WLW, I've been to about 6 WLW shows since 2005, most of the time I get front row, but a couple of times I get 2nd. Great stuff, I've met and/or talked to Terry Funk, Chris Masters, KENTA, Marufuji, Aoki, Morishima, Lex Luger, and Harley Race. Also, Ken, the NOAH english commentator, he got so damn excited when I knew who he was.

UWA(Ultimate Wrestling Alliance, and not the more well-known version): your basic indy show, some stolen gimmicks from 7 years ago, a few wrestlers that will probably get overlooked, someone's fat old uncles, and overbooking galore. There was a real good heel manager though, got some kid to throw his chair at him and an old lady kicked out. Probably not plants, because if they were both kicked out, then it would have just been me, my cousin, and about 20 other people left in the building.

FTW (Full Throttle Wrestling): Same as above, only much worse. The average body fat % for the main event was probably 25%. You had a black guy in a trench coat and baseball bat. A redneck named Sly, an Amazing Red look alike who got PISSED when I told him he was, a guy missed a moonsault completely and the other guy sold it anyways and they went on with the match, a "backstage interview w/ Christopher Walken" and the "Independent Icons" who came out to nWo music and did the gestures. Fun stuff though.

A majority of these were over the past 2 years, I love going to shows, no matter how good or bad they are. The bad ones make me feel good as an aspring wrestler and there's always a sort of novelty about wrestlecrap, WWE shows are a good experience with the marks, glitz, glamour, and PYROS (my favorite part usually). TNA was really fun all around, because it was either great wrestling or crappy, and it's fun to mark and heckle.

Overall, ROH is the best overall experience I've ever had. I marked, it was loud, it was intense, great wrestling. My only beef is the dumbass behind me. He claimed to be an indy wrestler, then he'd bash Morishima saying how he did Shima's trademarks better than he did and how he was better than Shima. Then he tried the "you're gonna get your fuckin' head kicked in" chant, but had no rhythm, so he would basically shout the line, then bang on the rail in a rhythm similar to passionate masterbation.

TWJC, with my last post I was refering to WWE, but yea we have a couple indie companies in my city. Actually we have the most in my state than anywhere else in Aus

Unfortunatly the only really good company HRPW is having its last show next month with Raven on the card. They managed to get Corino for a few matches and I saw one of the best matches iv ever seen in a small hall with marks who couldn't understand why me and my friend were going nuts.

They even had a tag team ladder match in front of no more than 100 people that had insane spots, that again the stupid marks were sitting there silent yet marking like fuck for a fat goldberg rip off.

Iv managed to talk to quite a few of the wrestlers and will be able to talk to them all at their last show since I found out a girl I know is friends with one of the women wrestlers

Capn', there's no such thing as a stupid fan, only a stupid wrestler. Why do highspots when that doesn't get you over? Why not work them with crowd play. It's like a pitcher throwing curves to a guy who only hits curves and not fastballs. Even if he has a good curve, it's not the right time to use it.

I encourage you to go to indy shows no matter how bad they are.

I can talk to most of the indy guys because they think it's cool that people actually give a shit about them. I'm pretty respectful too, I don't get too smarky. Sometimes I get overly kayfabed, like one time I said something like "good match, I thought you were going to beat him" guy said "o did you now, well, too bad you don't have the book" I loled.

The only time I've really been a dick was a show with a rediculous amout of kids, the heels were beating down the top face and I started a Cena chant. I thought it was funny as fuck with all the kids, at first it was like "no way.....but he's a grown up.....he must know something....CENA CENA CENA CENA"

Normally I'd agree about the 'there's no stupid fan' comment, but no... these people are stupid, not just as fans lol. Just about all the companies here have all their shows in the real feral areas. Calling these people marks is a compliment lol.

I'll try and find some footage of the awesome matches to, local company HRPW are the first aus wrestling in over 30 years to be put on tv as well.

The funniest was after raven was a complete asshole to me and my friend, during question time thru intermission my friend got up and asked something along the lines of 'how's it feel trying oh so hard to make it in wwe, even trying to conform to their style etc, only to be shot down and never make it big there'... or something along those lines. Since my friend Is huge (height/build wise) he's pretty easy to remember and the anger on ravens face was priceless...

Raven has a high wrestling IQ, he was probably working you.

K, "no stupid fan" is probably a false statement. How's this:

The collective opinion of the fans in the majority is never wrong. If there is an arena of 15,000 people, 14,000 of them love crowd play and 1,000 love highspots, even if you are good at high spots, you shouldn't go balls out with the highspots to please the 1,000 fans. If you do, and you get no reaction, then the fans weren't wrong, but you were.

That make sense? I see it a lot in the indies and I'm always interested when I can pick up on guys changing their plans. I saw a match with Darin Waid, he was doing some real clever technical wrestling, and a standing moonsault, he wasn't getting much. So, he started asking the crowd more before he'd do something, he'd talk a little trash, exaggerate things more, and by the end of the match, they were popping for everything he did. Even though on TV, it probably would have looked better to you or me if he had kept going with the more "wrestling" style, live in person it was the correct thing to do to change things up.

Yea I know that about raven, but he was booked as a face against the ME heel, and he was a complete dick to me, my friend and from what I saw a couple other fans. All the people asking him shitty questions like 'have you ever fought *insert very recent wwe wrestler*' was getting him frustrated to.

And yea I get what ya mean amigo

I have been to two shows.

One was Summerslam 1992 - still have the t-shirt and cap I got from that event as well. Never heard anything so loud than 80,000 people cheering for the Bulldog when he won.

The other was a Raw house show - about a week or so after Eddie died. My little sister came up to me and said she won some tickets on Ebay - I thought she was kidding, but she actually did.

This was the card & results:

WWE RAW Brand House Show Results - 11/18/05
Location: Birmingham, England

- Eric Bischoff started off the show with a 10-bell salute to Eddie Guerrero.

- Chris Masters defeated Tajiri.

- Viscera & Val Venis defeated Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch.

- Shelton Benjamin defeated Rob Conway & Nick Nemeth in a Triple Threat Elimination Match.

- Victoria & Candice defeated Ashley & Maria.

- WWE IC Champion Ric Flair defeated Carlito.

- Shawn Michaels defeated Kurt Angle.

- WWE Champion John Cena defeated Triple H in a Street Fight.

Cena did some little speech about Eddie which was awesome and I got to see Angle/HBK in the ring. Couldn't ask for much more that that.
