Jimmy Rave has one pretty high ranking match, and I liked the 2 Jimmys vs Colt/BJ match well enough to have that place fairly high as well.

The Master and Ruler Of The World

250. Colt Cabana vs Delirious, ROH 5YF: Finale (March 4th)
-So this was probaby the best comedy match of the year, as far as being wildly entertaining as an actual wrestling match, which is why I don't think it's entirely fair to put all comedy matches like Kikutaro vs Matt Classic or the Dragon Dragon Return Match on the Top 500.

249. Claudio Castagnoli vs Eddie Kingston, CHIKARA Best Imitation of Myself (March 23rd)
-This was one of Kingston's first matches back off an ankle injury, so he purposely started throwing bombs to keep Claudio off the ankle, but Claudio was pissed after Hero turned on him, so he went after the ankle partly to prove something to Hero and partly because he still doesn't like Kingston.

248. Eddie Kingston vs Hallowicked, IWA-DS 2-Xtreme Warfare (September 1st)
-This was like a practice match for their match at Chapter 11 later in the year. However, they still were real awesome in there with the striking and the hate, and some fun brawling was to be had as well.

247. Mike Quackenbush vs Black Tiger IV, CHIKARA Maximum Overdraft (August 5th)
-This was NJPW's attempt to get the belt back, plus a reason to book Romero/Quack, and Quack like a true veteran, was able to reel in Romero's annoying habits of throwing out cool looking shit despite being a heel, and it was mostly mat based.

246. No Remorse Corpse vs Delirious/Resilience, ROH Driven (June 23rd)
-Awesome awesome sprint of an opener. IF you've seen it, you know why it rules.

245. Mitsuharu Misawa vs Akira Taue, NOAH (July 15th)
-This is another match that in 2007, should not be on this list, let alone this high. Except that it was awesome. I have a soft spot in my heart for the "old men throwing bombs" part of puro, and an even softer spot for tha tlovable old bastard Taue.

244. Edge vs Shawn Michaels, WWE Raw (January 22nd)
-This was that awesome Street Fight when HBK decided he wanted the WWE Title, which led to the excellent HBK/Cena matches. Great brutality and sense of hate and story.

243. Austin Aries/Roderick Strong/Jack Evans vs Delirious/Davey Richards/SHINGO, ROH Battle of the Icons (January 27th)
-The last time the original Generation Next ever did a trios match together, and it was a doozy. There wasn't a great deal of story, but it was just an outstanding trios crazy match. Gabe would call it "state of the art", but it's been a staple of Dragon Gate, and before that Michinoku Pro for years.

242. Chuck Taylor vs Nate FUCKING Webb, IWA-MS Gory Days 3 (July 22nd)
-As you'd expect, this was wildly entertaining. Nate Webb and CRAZY PIPE GUY reunited and it was great. Chuck Taylor demanded to know who the fuck booked an outside show in 90 degree weather, and then tried to pin Nate to the mat with duct tape because nothing breaks duct tape. They also brawled inside of a school bus, and did I mention CPG?! Awesomely fun match if you like these two, and I lov eboth of 'em.

241. Naomichi Marufuji/Ippei Ota/Ricky Marvin vs CIMA/Susumu Yokosuka/Dragon Kid, NOAH (April 28th)
-Really fun DG vs NOAH tag affair. On one hand, it had some real fun stuff teasing CIMA vs Marufuji and showing DG triple teams, and on the other hand, Typhoon just decided to beat the shit out of rookie Ota and make him defend his company.

240. Shawn Michaels vs John Cena, WWE Wrestlemania 23 (April 1st)
-Really good match for the main event. Except...Cena's leg selling. I'm a huge Cena fan and typically overlook his few flaws, and I found myself totally taken out of the match by it, which is a shame, because if he sold it a wee bit, we'd be looking at an epic here.

239. Doug Williams vs Claudio Castagnoli, PWG BOLA Night 1 (August 31st)
-This match had a 3-5 minute section featuring just European Uppercuts, and they not only made it work, but centered the match around the exchange of the move. That's how great both are.

238. Samoa Joe vs Eddie Kingston, FSM Chapter One (MArch 17th)
-I miss FSM for booking shit like this. From the resident fat badass who can cut a great promo to the newer overweight badass striker who cuts a great promo, it was present vs future. Shame it wa sonly 9 minutes long, but apparently, Kingston decided that Joe needed to die, and Joe had a similar thought.

237. Mike Quackenbush vs Chris Hero vs Claudio Castagnoli vs Nigel McGuinness, ROH A Fight At The Roxbury (June 8th)
-The reason this ruled is because of Quack and Hero. Continuity abounds as Hero takes repeated cheap shots to his archnemesis. Nigel stays out for the most part, as this is the CHIKARA show.

236. Jun Akiyama vs Takeshi Morishima, NOAH (September 9th)
-Morishima's first step to the title was here, as he took on resident gatekeeper Akiyama. The best possible NOAH-style heavyweight clash with the brawling and the stiffness and the slight overkill of headdropZ.

235. SHINGO/Cyber Kong/El Generico/Jack Evans vs CIMA/Dragon Kid/Susumu Yokosuka/PAC, Dragon Gate (July 15th)
-This was a big match on the 2nd Season of WrestleJam, and I won't lie. It was really just a completely insane spotfest with no real story involved. Basically, this match isn't MOVEZ done right, but MOVEZ done so fluently at a solid pace for 15 minutes, and it ruled.

234. John Cena vs Umaga, WWE New Year's Revolution (January 7th)
-I think this was one of the first matches that made me think to myself that Cena was really improving, with the April 23rd Raw match being the point wher eI realized he was awesome. Classic structure of unstoppable monster vs seemingly unbeatable champion, where the unbeatable champion is forced to be the underdog.

233. The Kings of Wrestling vs Lince Dorado/El Pantera, CHIKARA Maximum Overdraft (August 5th)
-A showcase of why I adore the Kings. Pantera is a bit past his prime, and Lince is a total rookie, and the combined efforts of Claudio and Hero to sell and stooge for them make them look like the best luchadores in the world on this night.

232. Shinsuke Nakamura vs Togi Makabe, NJPW (December 9th)
-Winner of this fought Tanahashi on the 1/4/07 Dome Show. I'm still mad about that match result. NJPW wants to push Naka as The Ace, but he's not good enough yet. Anyways, this was a very violent brawl and Togi carries Naka to an outstanding main event.

231. El Generico vs Naomichi Marufuji, ROH Motor City Madness (September 15th)
-Naomichi underestimatees Generico as a comedy act, and Generico says "no, no no" to that and brings the fight. So Naomichi responds in kind and has to step up his game.

230. Mike Quackenbush vs Jigsaw vs Hallowicked vs Gran Akuma vs Delirious vs Pelle Primeau, ROH Good Times, Great Memories (April 28th)
-One of the better Multimans in recent ROH history, as the CHIKARA guys reinvent awesome multiman spots for the ROH audience.

229. CM Punk vs Elijah Burke, ECW on SciFi (June 126th)
-The day after the Benoit stuff, CM Punk finds himself hoisted into the top spot on ECW, and has to prove that he can carry the ball. Elijah wants the top spot, and these two end their feud on a real high note in an oustanding 2/3 Falls match.

228. Chuck Taylor vs Human Tornado, IWA-MS TPI Night 2 (September 29th)
-Pre-match, Tornado steals the title belt and Chuck asks why he had to follow the sterotype. The rest of the match isn;t that awesome, but it still rules in that really fun Tornado/Chuckie T. way.

227. Mark Briscoe vs Kevin Steen, ROH A Fight AT THE Roxbury (June 8th)
-Another outstanding brawl in the Steenerico/Briscoes feud, and you get the idea that they should have done all brawls in their feud, as those matches worked the best. Great short TV style match with the focus on Steen trying to reinjure Mark before the Tag Title match at Driven.

226. Los Technicos vs Lince Dorado/El Pantera/Sicodelico Jr., CHIKARA KOT Night 3 (February 18th)
-I loved this more than most. The story was Quack trying to show that his students can do lucha just as well as real Mexicans, and it was a fantastic display of lucha counterwrestling and thusly arm drags, headscissors, and neat looking holds.

225. Claudio Castagnoli vs Mike Quackenbush, IWA-MS March Massacre (March 2nd)
-This was like a house show version of their touring match they have with each other, but stretched out to include stalling from Claudio before their usual match of Quack dominating until Claudio breaks out the power moves, and than into an exciting finish.

224. SHINGO/BxB Hulk/Cyber Kong vs Naruki Doi/Masato Yoshino/Magnitude Kishiwada, Dragon Gate (July 1st)
-DG had several high quality tags and multiman tags in 2007, and unfortunately, this was just outside of the classic range, as it degenerated into a spotfest without a real story, where as the others were spotfests with stories.

223. Chris Hero/Chuck Taylor/Larry Sweeney/Mitch Ryder vs Las Chivas/Lince Dorado/Equinox, CHIKARA Invaders Night 1 (August 17th)
-Another fun CHIKARA multiman tag with the Kings vs Luchadores theme starting to evolve here. The important part was at the end, where Equinox was able to beat Hero off the CHIKARA Special, as the lowest ranked guy in the promotion beat The Ace off the one hold that was Hero's Kryptonite.

222. Naomichi Marufuji/Kota Ibushi vs The Briscoes, NOAH (July 1st)
-This was a prime example of how good the Briscoes formula can be when controlled. This was like 15 minutes, and wasn't given enough time to descend into overkill like a lot of their matches do, and Naomichi was able to keep everyone in check with his greatness. Also, Ibushi is awesome.

221. Up in Smoke vs The Osirian Portal, CHIKARA Bruised (October 27th)
-The Portal should not be able to do stuff like this. They have under a year of experience, and it's due to a combination of their quick learning and UIS being awesome babyfaces for the Portal to get over on.

220. Speed Muscle vs PAC/Roderick Strong, PWG DDT4 Night 2 (May 20th)
-Awesome DG style match here, with spots and story combined into a ball of awesome. Speed Muscle have so much experience, and don't worry about PAC and Strong at all, not taking into account that PAC is fucking resilient and that Strong isn't afraid to use his partner as a weapon.

219. The Briscoes vs Necro Butcher/Jimmy Jacobs, ROH GBH6 Night 2 (November 3rd)
-I liked this way more than most people, due to a few key spots. One of them being Jimmy hitting the HUSSenton OFF THE TOP ROPE TO THE FLOOR! The other being Necro debuting the spot where he traps a guy in the floor mats and splashes him off the apron.

218. Matt Sydal vs PAC, ROH 5YF: Finale (March 4th)
-This match is a strong case for Sydal as the best highflier in the world in the first 3/4ths of 2007. The common knock on the fliers is that they can't carry a match or guide lesser workers and thus cannot be all-time greats, but Sydal proved that wrong, as he guided the far-lesse rPAC to an awesome encounter.

217. Typhoon vs Muscle Outlaw'z, Dragon Gate (April 17th)
-I didn't list named because this is 7 vs 7 and I'm lazy. Crazy sprint style madness from DG and post-match sees SHINGO form NEw Hazard, along with BxB Hulk, Cyber Kong, and JAck Evans defecting to join him.

216. Claudio Castagnoli vs MIYAWAKI, CHIKARA Sordid Perils Of Everyday Existence (November 17th)
-This shows the true versatility of Claudio, as he pulls off a heavyweight war just as well as he pulls off lucha rudo work in KOW tags, being a great base for fliers, and doing comedy. Also, MIYAWAKI hits really hard.

215. Samoa Joe vs Nigel McGuinness, ROH Dedicated (January 26th)
-A precursor to their amazing Liverpool match, that sets up everything they'd do in that match as far as Nigel being fucking tough, but Joe being that much better and stronger.

214. Alex Shelley vs Kaz Hayashi, PWG ASW5 Night 1 (April 7th)
-Absolutely fantastic, and it's a shame that Shelley didn't have more opportunities to do stuff of this level. Story is that Shelley idolized Hayashi when he was younger, and is a bit starstruck, where as Kaz treats it like another match, and Shelley has to earn his idol's respect.

213. MVP vs Chris Benoit, WWE Smackdown (April 13th)
-This is the best one of their series, and has some terrific storytelling, with MVP scouting Benoit's moves after WM.

212. Samoa Joe vs Davey Richards, ROH 5YF: Dayton (February 23rd)
-Another awesome match Joe had on his way out helping to put over a youngun. Davey wanted to step up, but Joe was in no mood to play around with a fool.

211. The Briscoes vs Kotaro Suzuki/Ricky Marvin, NOAH (July 15th)
-The lesser of their two matches, but in no means bad. It's just that they seem to have a hard time filling 30 minutes, and this was a draw, so bad luck for them.

I can't wait to see 210 matches better than the last 20 or so on ur list. Joe vs Davey I thought was one of daveys better matches he had.

210. Homicide/Low-Ki vs Toby Klein/Necro Butcher, IWA-MS Point Proven (June 30th)
-Overall, this show was disappointing, but this match was fantastic. Think about Ki vs Necro and then turn it into a tag, and think about how great that is.

209. The Briscoes/Naomichi Marufuji vs Atsushi Aoki/Matt Sydal/Ricky Marvin, ROH Live in Tokyo (June 16th)
-Aoki and Sydal on the same time = WIN. Really fun 6 man tag with lots of real cool sequences and shit, plus Marufuji says "MAN UP!" afterwards.

208. Bryan Danielson/Davey Richards vs Atsushi Aoki/Rocky Romero, NOAH (July 1st)
-Danielson/Aoki rivalry continues in a surprisingly good match. The NTC Cup was really awesome shit.

207. Umaga vs Jeff Hardy, WWE Great American Bash (July 22nd)
-The first inkling that Jeff Hardy would eventually become fucking awesome, as he was now-ish before he disappointed me so fucking much. Anyways, he bumps huge for Umaga's stuff, and therefor makes himself look better on his eventual comeback.

206. Claudio Castagnoli vs Mike Quackenbush, ROH RTTT Night 2 (July 28th)
-Really good match, but in a completely different way than their other awesome matches (Maximum Overdraft, TPI 2006)

205. Jun Akiyama/Takeshi Rikio vs Takeshi Morishima/Mohammed Yone, NOAH (April 1st)
-Just a fantastic heavyweight tag war. Akiyama decides he hates everything in life suddenly, and Morishima throws himself like a boulder, and it's pretty great. Plus, the finish is awesome.

204. Samoa Joe vs Christian Cage, TNA Bound For Glory (October 14th)
-Fantastic Joe vs Cowardly Heel formula match, because Xtian makes an outstanding cowardly heel. Its Cage's first pinfall loss in almost 2 years in TNA, and it isn't mentioned at all. Fucking TNA.

203. Chuck Taylor vs Ricochet, CHIKARA YLC5 Night 3 (June 24th)
-Chuckie T and Rick O' Shea are like perfect opponents. Ricochet bumps huge for Chuck's big moves, and plays off Chuckie's random shenanigans perfectly.

202. Colt Cabana/Nigel McGuinness vs The Briscoes, ROH 5YF: NYC (February 16th)
-This is the Briscoes I love. Short awesome matches with great combos and spots, but not enough to get ridiculous.

201. KENTERFuji vs Go Shiosaki/Takeshi Morishima, SEM (December 23rd)
-KENTERFuji combines one last time in an attempt to take out Morishima, except they ignore Go, and he is able to hold one back so Morishima can kill whicheve rone is left at the time.

200. Roderick Strong vs PAC, ROH 5YF: Liverpool (March 3rd)
-Well this ruled for two obvious reasons. One being that Roderick is best with smaller guys, and two that PAC sells a beatdown really well. Also, the spotz were real awesome as it was one of the first times I saw PAC, and he tends to be awesome the first time.

199. Yoshinobu Kanemaru/Atsushi Aoki vs KENTER/Taiji Ishimori, NOAH (September 9th)
-The reappearence of Motivated Kanemaru, who brings the hate and heelness to KENTER, and they beat down his protege, and Kanemaru coaches Aoki on how to handle KENTER and be a dick. KENTER than gets in and proceeds to murderize them.

198. Mike Quackenbush vs Josh Abercrombie, IWA-MS TPI Night 2 (September 29th)
-Holy shit was this heated and great. Quack was supposed to be out of the tournament, but he came back into the building and demanded to continue, and we all cheered massively in response. Amazing night for crowd heat.

197. Delirious vs Matt Sydal, ROH 5YF: Liverpool (March 3rd)
-Another example of how great Sydal is/was, as he puts on a fantastic character match for himself, and tells perhaps the strongest story between himself and Delirious yet.

196. Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs Mushiking Terry, NOAH (October 27th)
-Motivated Kanemaru Part 2. NOAH needed to get rid of the Mushiking character for Kotaro, so Kanemaru killed him with Brainbusters until he died.

195. Chuck Taylor vs Mike Quackenbush, IWA-DS 2-Xtreme Warfare (September 1st)
-Chuck again brings the amazing greatness of his crowd interactions and smack talk, and Quack is the best straight man in wrestling after 5+ years of being constantly surrounded by goofiness. Also, they have a really fun wrestling match.

194. The Olsen Twins vs Up in Smoke, CHIKARA New Star Navigation (October 27th)
-Not as good as their Cibernetico and Robin tag, but that was just a perfect combination of time and place and crowd heat. Up in Smoke are awesome babyfaces to the humorous yet semi-serious Olsen Twins. Don't be confused kids, Colin Olsen is not on ECW. That's his other twin brother from a different mother, Colin Delaney.

193. The Briscoes vs Kel Steenerico, ROH 5YF: Philly (February 17th)
-Not nearly as good a slive reports would indicate, but I see why this would get overhyped in live reviews. Really fun match that came pretty much out of nowhere, and a team finally was able to match crazy movez and spotz with the Briscoes.

192. Mike Quackenbush vs Joey Ryan, IWA-MS TPI Night 2 (September 29th)
-This was the TPI match where Quack got his concussion and battled on to win the match. I put it over Quack/Josh because it was better live, given that Quack got his injury in this match.

191. Minoru vs Ryusuke Taguchi, NJPW (July 6th)
-This came out of nowhere to me given that NJ juniors had become kind of a parody of their peak in years past, but Taguchi is leading on the new generation of juniors (Taguchi, Naito, Devitt, Minoru), and this was his big title win.

190. MNM vs The Hardy Boyz, WWE Royal Rumble (January 28th)
-When I criticize the Briscoes for refusing to do a formula tag, this is wha tI mean by formula tag. This was a fantastic formula tag, and it worked to perfection and was just an incredible match. Put 5 more minutes on here, and it's in the top 100, maybe top 50.

189. Joey Ryan vs Roderick Strong, PWG BOLA Night 3 (September 2nd)
-Roderick is awesome in PWG, as he is still a face, and thus great. Joey is one of the best people for faces to work off of and he sets Roderick up perfectly to come back and murder him at the end in payback.

188. The Briscoes vs Jimmy Jacobs/Necro Butcher, ROH Survival of the Fittest (October 19th)
-Again, I liked these matches way more than most, as all 4 completely rule at brawls, and ROH REALLY excelled at crazy brawls this year, all of which involved one of these 4 in some way.

187. The Colony/Mike Quackenbush vs Team FIST/Osirian Portal, CHIKARA Battle of Who Could Care Less (November 16th)
-CHIKARA happens to completely rule at sub-15 minute multiman tags to the point where I think they do it better than anyone else apart from and maybe just as good as DG. Just a really really fun match again playing on The Colony moving up the card.

186. Mike Quackenbush/Shane Storm/Equinox vs The Colony, CHIKARA Anniversario! (May 27th)
-This show was not good. This match was the one bright spot on it, as The Colony again came out of nowhere to have an awesome awesome match, and Equinox didn't even suck that much here.

185. Up in Smoke/Delirious vs MIYAWAKI/Passion Hasegawa/El Pantera, CHIKARA Chapter 11 (November 18th)
-We're on a CHIKARA role here, and this is another excllent and fun spot/moe/lucha sequence filled trios match. Just a fucking barrel of fun shit.

184. The Briscoes vs Kings of Wrestling, PWG DDT4 Night 1 (May 19th)
-And now the complete rarity of the KOW working as faces. The Briscoes as heels in PWG is always weird to see, and the KOW guided them to an excllent match with a surprisingly good story for a Briscoes match, as Hero and Claudio were both able to own both Briscoes in exchanges of everything, so the Briscoes had to string together lots of doubleteams just to stand a chance.

183. Roderick Strong vs Jack Evans, ROH All Star Extravaganza III (March 30th)
-This is the one match they had that wasn't just a massive disappointment, as it was mostly Roderick killing Jack with SICK holds and backbreakers and chops. Jack dying to entertain me is always welcome.

182. KUDO/MIYAWAKI/Yoshiaki Yago vs Los Technicos, CHIKARA KOT Night 3 (February 18th)
-This could have been really really awesome, and instead was just really good, probably because of the long ass show, but still, it was pretty good as far as formula trios matches go, and the closing stretch was pretty awesome.

181. Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Togi Makabe, NJPW (August 12th)
-This ruled so hard. Makabe is a mean old bastard heel who uses a Lariat with a chain wrapped around his arm. Tanahashi at the time was a pretty boy who the company wanted to be the top guy, like John Cena in 2005 but with him playing into the boos. They produced a great match, with Tanahashi using his mat skillz to outmanover the bigger man.
