1. Doi and Yoshino vs SHINGO and Hulk ****1/2 - I really loved the spotty greatness in thism atch. The end where Doi goes for that cradle pin I bet most thought for sure it was over.. IMO this one didnt quite reach the level of Marvin and Suzuki vs Briscoes from January of last year but this was still an amazing tag encounter and my current match of the year.

2. Shawn Michaels vs Jeff Hardy ****

I've had that machine guns tag from Z1 on my computer for a few weeks and I still havent gotton around to watching.. maybe tonight.

Yes, the NH vs Speed Muscle tag is the best thing I've seen this year. I liked it more than the Briscoes tag, but I love both teams right now more than I've ever liked the Briscoes.

The SD Chameber was well over 4 stars.

Many big spots never before seen that deserve to be up there.

It may or may not be because all his matches are magnified by my fanatical marking out for the man.

I wanna watch the dragon gate tag... I find it hard to imagine something beating Umaga and cos performance at NWO.

To someone who doesn't watch DG (I don't know if you do or not), it'll either be completely revolutionary for pacing and sheer overkill, or you'll hate it and call it a "spotfest". It's in the vein of the DG 6 man from ROH in 2006, but more awesome.

I have seen maybe two or three dragon gate matches, two of them in ROH and one from the promotion itself from what I understand.

I enjoyed them all, definately, but found them all very similar. First one I loved, but after that it was all a bit samey. But that's probably just because the first one WAS so revolutionary.

To me, it seems a ****1/2 Dragongate match is differentiated from a **** Dragongate match by mostly length of end sequence, number of nearfalls and lack of botches, since the pyschology is pretty much non-existant that I managed to pick up.

I LOVE false finishes, so if that's the case and the match you rated top in 2008 so far has a long end sequence I will probably love it.

It's 20 or so minutes, and the ending stretch is about 5-10 minutes long, depending on when you personally get the idea that it's getting quite EPIC!.

Basically, the 4 guys used all of their moves they know on each other, and the story is that Speed Muscle think they're the beest team on Earth, but SHINGO and BxB do as well, and SHINGO often has to will his little buddy to man up and fight back into the match during their matches last year, which ties awesomely into the ending minute or so.

The link I d/l'd is down, but if I find another one, I'll pm you.

I just want everyone to remember that when Aoki gets real awesome sometime in later 2008-2009, that I said this was going to happen in early 2007.

So what? Hes already pretty good and has been in big time matches with NOAH against the likes of KENTA/Marufuji/ Marvin etc.. I am not saying that he is just amazing yet but I think its pretty easy to tell he has a great career ahead of him.

Yea, Simon, it's not like you figured out that WWE was making Cena a heel to the IWC and a face to the marks all the way back in 2005, like me.

But still, Slimon has good instincts most of the time and watches a lot of the Japanesuhs.

I did figure out that JBL was fucking awesome back in April 2004, so there's that, and that Jeff HArdy has been awesome consistently since he returned in 2006.

I don't seem to recall any Aoki/Marvin or Aoki/Marufuji confrontations in tags or anything. But yes, Aoki and KENTER are custom made for each other and perfect opponents, with KENTER being Kobashi's little junior buddy and Aoki being Akiyama's little junior buddy, and Akiyama constantly trying to one-up Kobashi.

I am pretty sure they went down in the NOAH tag tournament over the summer I thought.. Maybe not but he was in there with Bryan Danielson who makes up for atleast one of them guys.

Yeah, those Aoki/Danielson tags in the spring and summer of last year were really fun for NOAH undercard fair. It's a shame that was all forgotten along with the CIMA/Marufuji, Doi/KENTER, and KENTER/Ogawa stuff. Luckily, NOAH's back to being fucking awesome now that Kobashi returned.
