Ok, with both bouts going to a 12-5 decision for the winner, with out further ado, here are the final two in the WWE March Madness Tournament! "Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Ok, now that THAT is out of the way, get to voting people! And debate all you want about who's better, but keep it civil, because the last round almost broke down into a "brawl". That won't be tolerated, and I am lenient for the most part, just please don't abuse that. As for my pick. Ric Flair, hands down. Like I said in the last round, despite Eddie's work being phenominal, there's something about him and his style I have never cared for, for some reason. And Flair has given me some HUGE moments, so he gets the nod, easily. Just Flair being an integral part of the Four Horsemen would have probably got him the nod from me. Next to Big, I am probably one of the biggest Horseman marks out there. |

Fuck man.. Well, if you look at my sig, I have my 5 favorites of all time listed, and Eddie is number 4. Ric Flair is number 6 or 7. It's not that I liked Eddie more now that he's dead, because honestly, Flair's retiring in like 2-3 weeks, so it's not that. Both are amazing technicians, storytellers, great at promos, and incredible at building drama and drawing. Eddie is pretty much the Latino Ric Flair/Bret Hart as far being just superb at EVERYTHING in my opinion, to the point where it comes down to pure personal preference, and in that case...I'm going with Eddie Guerrero. Winner: Eddie Guerrero |

All I've ever seen of Flair is his stuff since late 2004 and a few PPV matches from 2001 and 2002. During those times he's really been a lot of nostalgia. Since I haven't seen that and I have seen Eddie Guerrero when he was at the top of his game, I'm voting for Eddie Guerrero. |

Wow, that's tough. Err... you have one of the best all round of all time imo Vs one of the best of my generation all round imo. And that really sums up why my vote goes to Eddie Guerrero. That one simple sentence cuts straight to the point. If I look in terms of ability, what I like most in a personal wrestler and who ticks the boxes, volume of matches that I personally love etc, I will LITERALLY be here all day trying to seperate the two. What we have is two of the absolute GREATEST both on the mic, charisma wise, in the ring, gimmick wise... I just can't split them. What I can split is growing up watching wrestling marking HARD for Eddie and having him be a main "draw" to me as a fan, getting me hooked... and, his WWE title win is to this day THE most I've marked ever. I was 16, beginning to be a mark, and literally chanted his name in my head for like.. a day. It was crazy, such a HUGE upset for me that I was pulling for came to a head after an incredible feud with Brock.. and to top it, they had my second favourite match of all time, just behind HHH Vs Foley from RR2000. THAT feud alone, that title win, cemented my regular watching of wrestling.. from 2002 and the return of HBK I watched whenever I could, taped all the free PPV's, watched most shows when I was around.. from 2004 onwards I havn't missed a single PPV, and it's only the last 6 months that I have missed Raw and Smackdown's. And I truly believe that the transaction from WWE fan to WWE regular watcher was a mix of three factors.. Evolution and Shawn Michaels to an extent, but Eddie Guerrero's Title win as THE MAIN reason I became such a big fan, leading me to join this website/collect PPVs/watch to this day despite not liking the product or roster that much anymore. So Eddie wins, all the sentimentality lies not in his death but in his life, what he accomplished in terms of drawing me into this sport, finishing the job that my all time favourite started... this is the reason Guerrero>Flair, and the reason Guerrero is pre-death AND post-death one of my absolute favourites of all time. |

Flair only has the edge in promos.. As far as Wrestling goes I would give it to Eddie in just about every category. Eddie was a special wrestler and he had the full package. Flair isn't anywhere near my list of top guys as far as an in ring performer goes. I am more of a fan of Flair when it comes to his charisma and mic skills. Vote: Eddie |

This may be my only beef with these final two, and that I know there's alot of you that aren't old enough to see Flair in his hey day. Back when he was with the Horsemen, and his epic matches with Steamboat/Rhodes/Race, you guys MAY sing a different tune, and it saddens me that many of you aren't old enough to have witnessed it. Promo wise, I can guarentee you this....In his prime, Eddie didn't come close to Flair. Ever. Ring work, Eddie has the edge. Story telling, I'd give it to Flair. It definitely is a hard choice. |

That's no excuse, at least for me and my viewing. I was born in 1990, and via the power of DVD releases, and the internet, I've been fortunate enough to see a lot of NWA TV from the mid-late 80s as well as a number of touring Flair matches in UWF, Midsouth, All Japan, and other territories. Wrestling's available to any who seek it, imo. |

Yeah, I've backwatched a LOT of Flair, most definately. Collected what I could, internetted what I could, etc. It's still incomparable to be talking about what both men mean to me though, since I'm looking at Flair from a critics point of view, admiring the work, the promos, in retrospect... Eddie got me INTO wrestling. Am I naive and affected by the Flair I am presented to in the last 6 years? NO. Am I sentimentally favouring Eddie Guerrero because he is MY generation of wrestler and he was working at his prime while I was viewing in my prime? YES. There is a massive different between the two... I've seen them both at their best. One was looking back on, one was watching and enjoying the build up time after time, with a certain Mr Guerrero delivering for me personally time after time, like Flair did 20 years before. You cannot have a "greatest of all time" vote without being biased towards the new blood to a certain extent, but it's not votes for Eddie just because we don't know what Flair can do. At least, for me it's not. If this was Flair/Finlay, Steamboat/Jericho or Abdullah/Sabu, old school wins 3/3 imo. |

Well yeah, it's not like Flair is a Dick Murdoch or a Jack Briscoe or a Billy Robinson to the extent where time has destroyed the ability to see most of his classics. Luckily for future generations like ourselves, Flair's prime wa smostly recorded on television and is owned by WWE 24/7 |

Ric Flair, without a doubt in my mind. I love Eddie, everything about him was damn near perfection. You want crazed, psycho heel, you've got it. You want comedic face, you've got it. You need sheer emotion, easy. Not to mention the man could make the absolute worst of workers look like gold. But to me, Ric Flair was that and more back in the day. Ric Flair delivers each night, imo. He doesn't look great anymore, but it's not about that for me. I was fortunate enough to watch the man put on a 45 minute classic with Sting at Clash of the Champions in 1989. I was fortunate enough to watch the man take the mic and hook you in with only the first few words out of his mouth, he was that believable. No man worked better as a heel and imo never will. He didn't need high profile antics to make you hate him, he was everything anyone hated back then. He was talented, charismatic, witty and well spoken. And that to me is enough to look at his "off" matches today and still not flinch to call him the best, ever. |

Point taken, but by judging on your tastes (That I have seen) and knowledge, you are an exception to the rule, not THE rule. I wish more "youngsters" were like you, so the opinion would be a little less biased. But, I do try and take into consideration what you and DM have said about DVD's and the net, knowing that you guys are exceptions. And it will make it a little easier to swallow IF Ric loses. |

Ok I love Eddie, he was an awesome wrestler, great at cutting promos but my vote goes to Ric Flair. Eddie has had many great moments. I marked out HUGE when Eddie won the wwe title. Such a fantastic moment. I enjoy many of Eddie's matches, a terrific worker. He is up against Naitch here and Naitch gets my vote. Now my all time fave wrestling match is a Ric Flair match and he won that match. That match was the Royal Rumble 92 rumble match. Also my fave wrestling moment. An iron man performance, He beat the best to win this match. Such a terrific match, terrific performance. Then his post match winning promo- pure gold. This guy brings out the wcw world title on wwe tv, belt was censored on tv but his promos that time- fucking AMAZING. What a great heel. Flair has had many classic matches, i've enjoyed more of his matches. His dvd imo is the best superstar dvd along with Bret's. Flair's promos are very memorable, and i have enjoyed so many of his wwe & wcw moments. Flair is also very funny. I LOVE that moment when he accidently throws hot coffee in the Giant's(Big Show) eyes. One of my fave wcw moments. He is one of the greatest heels ever, and his matches in his dvd and many other matches are absolutely fantastic. His matches with Steamboat. His horsemen promos, his feud with Sting. The black scorpion. Naitch is too good. |

Ric Flair- he's just the greatest, he has had some of the best wrestling matches of all time, his feuds with Rick Steamboat, Randy Savage, Dusty Rhodes, Nikita Koloff, and Hulk Hogan in WCW were some of the best wrestling feuds of all time for any era. His promo skills were beyond reproach, he could work any style, he worked equally well as a face or a heel, though probably worked much better in his prime as a heel. Eddie is a great wrestler no doubt, but I think Flair overtakes him in just about every category I could think of when matching the two up. |

Love em both, but Flair, for his time, was amazing, and is single handedly the most complete a wrestler can and will ever get. |

My vote: Ric Flair. Most probably already know my opinion on Eddie. I like him a lot but I doubt if he was still around this would be even close. Ric Flair is quite possibly the best of all-time, the definition of a total package. |
