WWF Champion: Yokozuna, Since 6/13/1993 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY
WWF Intercontinental Champion: Razor Ramon, Since 10/11/1993
WWF Tag Team Champions: The Quebecers, Since 9/13/1993

WWF Monday Night Raw
October 25th, 1993
Poughkeepsie, NY

Match #1: Crush w/ Mr. Fuji vs. Phil Apollo

Man alive, this sucked a fat dick. Most hilarious was Crush trying a Rolling Sole Butt to Apollo, and it looked like total horse shit. However, Crush is wildly hated by the crowd now, and he wins with the HEADCRUSHER~
1/2*

In the back, Johnny Polo talks about Marty Jannetty vs. 1-2-3 Kid tonight and says that'll sure be a manly contest. He says he's a manager and not only could he beat those two, but he could do it with both arms tied behind his back.

Bret, Owen, Keith, & Bruce Hart vs. Jerry Lawler & three of his knights in a classic Survivor Series match is announced for the Survivor Series.

Match #2: 1-2-3 Kid vs. Marty Jannetty
This is slower than their first match, but also longer, and with the same general theme. However, this time Kid tries to actually match Marty in holds and shit. Johnny Polo came out to watch and interfered against both men at points. Kid was more willing to take advantage of it than Marty was, due to not really having any other advantage. The ref briefly went down and Kid tried a Tope Con Hello on Marty, but Polo shoved Marty into the post, causing Kid to miss and take a brutal bump on his back on the floor. The ref got back up and with both men down, counted them both out of the ring for a draw.
**3/4

Polo laughs on the floor, but doesn't leave fast enough. Marty rolls him inside, and beats on him. 1-2-3 Kid joins in too, and they lay him out with a Double Superick.

In a pretape, Jeff Jarrettt (that's J-E-DOUBLE F J-A-DOUBLE R-E-DOUBLE T) is in front of the Buddy Lee Attractions talent agency in Nashville, and he shits on Willie Nelson and Garth Brooks, and says he has the best voice in this town and is the best singer in the world, but a local boy can't catch a break. He again says he's going to use the WWF to get his name out there, and when he proves that he's the greatest wrestler in the world, he'll come back here and they'll be begging him to sign on the dotted line. That's J-E-DOUBLE F J-A-DOUBLE R-E-DOUBLE T. DOUBLE J JEFF JARRETT!

A hype video airs for Ludvig Borga vs. Tatanka on Superstars. Apparently, they had words a lot in recent weeks, but it wasn't shown on Raw at all.

Lex Luger, Tatanka, & The Steiners vs. Yokozuna, Borga, & The Quebecers is announced in a classic elimination match for Survivor Series.

Match #3: Ludvig Borga vs. Mike Bucci
Another fun Borga squash with the knees and body punches. Borga hits some awesome clotheslines, and wins with the Torture Rack.
*1/2

Post-match, Heenan interviews Borga, and he says that not only will he end Tatanka's streak, but he'll end his career.

Match #4: Men on a Mission w/ Oscar vs. Todd Mata/Steve Greenman
Pretty awful squash due to Mo being a bag of shit and Mabel working arm holds instead of killing and eating white foke. Mabel won with a shitty Reverse Bulldog.
1/2*

Match #5: Diesel vs. Dan Dubiel

This was also not very good. Diesel's knees and kicks looked pretty bad in this, and it went way too long. He did have a really nice Big Boot though, and he got the win with his KO punch.

October 93 may have been the weakest month yet, due to the 10/4 Raw being missing and no fancams or more than one Coliseum match to balance that out. So as a result, nobody had more than one match on Raw this month, and it's basically "hey, who had the best squashes" outside of the two great matches in Razor/Martel and Yoko/Perfect. It's the first month since Jan or Feb where matches below * got in the top 10.

Top 10 Matches - October 1993:

1. Yokozuna vs. Mr. Perfect, WWF Wrestlefest 94 (October 19th)
2. Razor Ramon vs. Rick Martel, Raw (October 11th)
3. 1-2-3 Kid vs. Marty Jannetty, Raw (October 25th)
4. The Steiner Brothers vs. PJ Walker/Tony DeVito, Raw (October 18th)
5. The Headshrinkers vs. Sid Curtis/Tommy Morrison, Raw (October 11th)
6. Owen Hart vs. Scott King, Raw (October 11th)
7. The Rock n' Roll Express vs. Duane Gill/Barry Hardy, Raw (October 11th)
8. Ludvig Borga vs. Mike Bucci, Raw (October 25th)
9. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Dennis Diamond, Raw (October 18th)
10. Tatanka vs. Iron Mike Sharpe, Raw (October 18th)

Wrestler of the Month: Yokozuna & Mr. Perfect & Razor Ramon & Rick Martel (FOUR WAY TIE)

Tag Team of the Month: The Steiner Brothers

November 1st, 1993
Poughkeepsie, NY

In the back earlier tonight, Bobby Heenan tried to interview Bastion Booger about his match tonight, but he was too busy eating, and said he was going to eat up Razor Ramon as well.

Match #1: Razor Ramon vs. Bastion Booger
This goes 7 minutes to punish me on this snow day. If you were expecting this to not suck, I don't know what to tell you. They have some pretty embarrassing close ups on Razor's face during Booger's holds where he's not even trying to sell pain. Razor won with a sunset flip counter to Booger's ass splash.
3/4*

Vince McMahon is in the ring on the mic with the FOREIGN FANATICS~! This is Yokozuna, The Quebecers, and Ludvig Borga, along with Mr. Fuji, Johnny Polo, and Jim Cornette. Vince hypes up them vs. Luger/Steiners/Tatanka at Survivor Series, but Cornette says Tatanka is gone after Ludvig Borga destroyed him and ended his streak on Superstars. FUCK YEAH LUDVIG BORGA FINALLY SOMEBODY BEAT TATANKA! YES! Cornette says the game is eliminating and surviving and it's already 4 on 3 as it is. He says by the time Survivor Series comes around, there may not be anybody left on the other team. They announce that it's Borga vs. Scott Steiner next week, and Ludvig says what he did to Tatanka was a pleasure, and what he does to Scott Steiner will be even better. He says Steiner can't even read or write, and when he's done, he won't have to. Cornette says they'll go down one by one at Survivor Series, and this is the greatest collection of talent from all over the world. I agree, this is an amazing four man unit.

A hype video airs for Borga vs. Steiner next week.

Match #2: Mr. Perfect vs. The Executioner
Last Perfect match :( . Perfect spends most of the match doing awesome leg work, and wins with the Perfect Plex.
**

Match #3: The Smoking Gunns vs. Well Dunn w/ Harvey Whippleman

WELL DUNN! THIS GOES ON WAY TOO LONG, NEITHER OF THESE TEAMS SHOULD BE ON RAW AT ALL BECAUSE THEY SUCK SO BAD, FUCK! BOOK STEINERS VS. HEADSHRINKERS AGAIN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. Anyways, WD got DQ'd when the ref saw Harvey trip up Bart.
3/4*

Post-match, the Gunns clear Well Dunn from the ring.

At ringside, Savage calls in and says he'll be back on Raw next week, and if he sees Crush next week, he'll be all over him.

Match #4: Adam Bomb vs. Virgil
Hey, so this was a bag of shit for 5 minutes. That really good run Raw was on from April to October with one great match a show and some fun squashes with good wrestlers looks like it's totally over. Bomb wins with a Powerbomb.
1/2*

NEXT WEEK: Scott Steiner vs. Ludvig Borga, Crush in action

Rick Steiner vs. Quebecer Jacques w/ Johnny Polo, WWE Superstars (November 6th)
Fun 6 minute match. Rick hurls him around a lot and Jacques takes over with cheating. Both PCO and Scott make their way out to ringside at a point, and Jacques has a nice basic control segment before Rick fights back. He hurls him around some more, and hits the Steinerdog to win.

WWF Intercontinental Champion: Razor Ramon, Since 10/11/1993
WWF Tag Team Champions: The Quebecers, Since 9/13/1993

WWF Monday Night Raw
November 8th, 1993
Bushkill, PA

In pretapes, Ludvig Borga and Scott Steiner cut promos. Borga says he will finish Scott Steiner off like he finished off all the other unsuperior American scum. Scott Steiner says he doesn't like Borga coming in and insulting him and his country, and tonight, he's gonna shut Ludvig Boga up.

At ringside, Randy Savage is back. They hype up fan voting to see who faces PCO next week between 1-2-3 Kid, Marty, Doink, and Luger.

Match #1: Ludvig Borga vs. Scott Steiner
Pretty awesome power battle. Borga's clotheslines again rule and Scott takes great bumps for them. Steiner begins to throw around Borga, and they have a lot of really great moments between Borga's strikes and Steiner's throws. The Quebecers come out, which also brings out Rick Steiner. Ludvig attacks him, and he fights back. The Quebecers fight both Steiners and the ref throws it out.
***

The Steiners run off the Quebecers, and hit Borga with a double clothesline to knock him down.

In a pretape, Jeff Jarrett (that's J-E-DOUBLE F J-A-DOUBLE R-E-DOUBLE T) is outside the Ryman Auditorium, home of the Grand Ole Opry. He says this is proof of the corrupt country music business not taking care of what it should, because this classic building has grafitti on it and is run down. He says this building is dead, just like two of the greats to play on the stage: Conway Twitty and George Jones. Well no, George is alive, but his career is dead, and he's a horrible singer compared to Double J. He says this place reminds him of the Undertaker: dead. He again says he'll use the WWF, and they'll rename the WWF: The Double J F. JJF. And this sign won't say Ryman Auditorium. It'll be the Double J Auditorium, home of the greatest singer the world ever saw, Double J Jeff Jarrett! FUCK YEAH!

At ringside, Vince tries to calm Savage down by reminding him about their contract as announcers not to interfere in matches.

Match #2: Men on a Mission w/ Oscar vs. Corey Student/Steve Smith
Their best squash yet, but still too much of Mo in the ring. I'm hoping he dies and they just market Mabel as a tag team. Mabel wins with a splash.
3/4*

A pretape airs with a shot of Taker standing above an open grave. "IF YOU DRINK AND DRIVE....SOONER OR LATER, YOU'RE GOING TO MEET THE UNDERTAKER...." *gong*. Fade out. AMAZING.

Match #3: Rick Martel vs. John Paul
Martel is AMAZING in this. Really athletic looking and fast, along with fantastic heel spots like cartweeling away from a lock up and doing jumping jacks instead. I totally mark out for heels doing ridiculous gymnastics stuff to stall, although Martel isn't quite as amazing at this as 2007 Chris Hero. Martel wins with the Boston Crab.
*1/2

The Quebecers are standing by and say it doesn't matter who the fans vote for, but it better not be Lex Luger, because they'll destroy him.

Randy Savage gets up from the announce table as Crush is set for action. Vince tries to calm him down to save his job, but Savage keeps pacing and eventually throws Vince away. Savage attacks Crush, and officials and referees come out to hold them apart. Crush gets up and attacks Savage too, and they fight up the ramp.

Match #4: Bob Backlund vs. Barry Horowitz
This is a backdrop for more Crush/Savage stuff, but the Backlund matwork does carry what they show of this. Savage walks back down the ramp to sit at commentary again, and Vince says Crush has been locked in his locker room. A little later on, Crush comes out of his dressing room yelling for Savage, so Savage leaves commentary. This is where the focus on the match ends completely.
3/4*

In the back, Crush throws referees around and Savage attacks him. They fight again, and have to be pulled apart.

Back at ringside, Vince and Heenan talk about how Randy is fucking crazy. They announce the results of the poll, and Luger has won with 62%, so next week it's Lex Luger vs. Quebecer Pierre.

Outside the building, Savage and Crush are still fighting WE'VE GOTTA GO WE'RE OUTTA TIME FOLKS

Razor Ramon [c] vs. Rick Martel [WWF Intercontinental Championship], WWF Superstars (November 13th)
Martel immediately attacks Razor, and works on his knee. It rules a great amount and Razor's selling during this portion of the match is very good. Harvey Whippleman comes out to ringside during this. Razor made his comeback, and actually mostly sold the knee, which is a really big step for him. They began to fight on the floor, and Harvey tried to distract Razor, but failed. Razor hit Martel with an Atomic Drop and he hit Harvey on impact, and Razor slid back in at 9 to win by countout. Shorter than their 10/11 match, so they didn't get to pack in quite as much.

At ringside, it's just Vince and Heenan. Vince says Jack Tunney made a ruling that Randy Savage is too volatile to be at ringside in his current state of mind. They then hype up Luger vs. PCO later on.

They announce before the first match that Shawn Michaels has been reinstated to the WWF, and will be back at the Survivor Series to replace Jerry Lawler due to King having some legal problems.

Match #1: Razor Ramon vs. Brooklyn Brawler
Pretty fun squash for Razor. Great looking punches, and Brawler bumped around well. Razor got the win with the Razor's Edge.
**

In a pretape, Crush cuts a promo and says if Savage gets in his way again, he'll lose a whole lot more than his commentary job.

They hype up the SURVIVOR SERIES SHOWDOWN~ this weekend, and say that FINALLY Bret Hart gets a WWF Title rematch against Yokozuna at that special event.

Match #2: The Headshrinkers w/ Afa vs. Mike Bucci/Mike Boraldo
Another fun Headshrinkers squash, and Fatu wins with his amazing Flying Splash.
*3/4

Post-match, Vince announces Bam Bam, Booger, & Headshrinkers vs. The Four Doinks at Survivor Series.

Footage airs from Superstars this last weekend, where Luger & The Steiners introduced their 4th man at Survivor Series, THE UNDERTAKER! FUCK YEAH, TAKER FINALLY GETS GOOD OPPONENTS IN 1993!

Match #3: Lex Luger vs. Quebecer Pierre w/ Johnny Polo
PCO was great in this with his hurling his body around on offense and with great bumps, but Luger looked like he wasn't trying at all, so that dragged it down. Luger made his big comeback, and PCO again bumped around really well, and Luger gets the win with the Running Forearm.
**1/4

PCO is out cold, and Polo and Jacques help him onto a stretcher and he's wheeled off. Oh no....oh no...don't you dare...

Match #4: Diesel vs. Sid Garrison
Another pretty bad Diesel squash, and he wins with a Big Boot and elbow drop.
1/2*

At ringside, they talk about PCO's injury and say he's probably off the Foreign Fanatics Survivor Series team.

IN A PRETAPE, JEFF JARRETT IS IN THE RECORDING STUDIO AND A PRE-MASSIVE TIT JOB JACQUELYN IS HIS PERSONAL ASSISTANT! FUCK YEAH! JEFF YELLS AT THE STUDIO MUSICIANS FOR BEING AWFUL! HE SAYS HE HAS TO DO EVERYTHING HIMSELF, AND WHEN HE'S DONE IN THE WWF, IT'LL BE THE JJF! J-E-DOUBLE F J-A-DOUBLE R-E-DOUBLE T! JEFF JARRETT!

They hype up Bret/Yoko again to end Raw.

During this file, it's announced that Crush will take PCO's place at Survivor Series. SON OF A BITCH GODDAMNIT NO

Bret Hart vs. Irwin R. Schyster, WWF Superstars (November 21st)
Some guy doing a really bad Dusty Rhodes impression is on commentary with Vince. They have a pretty great opening half in this. Bret does a lot of fast stuff early on to confuse IRS, and then grounds him with a headlock to keep confusing him, and Mr. Fuji comes down to watch now. They go to break, and IRS is now in control, which is kind of annoying. Fuji keeps interfering until Bret goes to the floor and decks him. This brings out Yoko and Cornette as Bret comes back, but Fuji hits Bret with the flagpole for the DQ.
**3/4

IRS keeps beating on Bret, until Owen Hart runs out to save, and he runs off IRS.

Yokozuna [c] w/ Mr. Fuji vs. Bret Hart [WWF Championship], WWF Survivor Series Showdown (November 22nd)
"USA!" chants again ring out, as the fans have a ton of support for Earl Hebner, I guess. Bret goes right at Yoko, leading to amazing Yoko selling and bumping. Yoko's control goes on a bit too long without being brutal or anything, but Bret makes a big comeback. He gets the Sharpshooter on, and Owen Hart comes down to celebrate. The ref deals with him for some reason, allowing Fuji to hit Bret with the salt bucket. Owen gets in now, and takes the bucket from him, and the ref is watching when Owen hits Yoko with the bucket, so he DQ's Bret.

WWF SURVIVOR SERIES 1993
November 24th, 1993
The Boston Garden
Boston, MA

Match #1: Razor Ramon/Randy Savage/1-2-3 Kid/Marty Jannetty vs. Irwin R. Schyster/Rick Martel/Diesel/Adam Bomb w/ Harvey Whippleman [Elimination Match]

Savage replacing Perfect is the best possible solution to Perfect's forced retirement. Martel and Razor have a pretty good opening, but then Bomb gets in to ruin it. Adam Bomb and Martel keep having dissension and IRS calms it down. Kid bumps around like a lunatic to make the big guys look good, and Savage has a great hot tag. Bomb accidentally runs into Diesel, and Savage takes him out. He then hits Diesel with the Flying Elbow to eliminate him. Crush comes down later to distract Randy, and it allows IRS to roll him up for the elimination. Crush flees, and Savage runs to the back after him. Marty has a decent showing, and Razor eliminates IRS with the Razor's Edge. The other five all begin fighting, and IRS hits Razor with the briefcase. He falls to the floor and is counted out, leaving it as Marty/Kid vs. Martel/Bomb. I haven't noted it yet, but Martel was great all match. Kid again took crazy bumps, but eliminated Martel with a Sunset Flip! Almost immediately after, Marty got a sunset flip on Bomb to win the match. I'm on the fence on this. Martel, Savage, Kid, Marty, and 70% of the time Razor...all good in this, and the first 10 minutes ruuuuuuuled, but IRS, Bomb, and Diesel should not be rewarded with bonus points. Fuck it.
***

In the back, Todd is with Shawn Michaels. He says he's back and protests Todd saying he's a former IC Champion, since he's wearing the belt and never lost it, so he's clearly the Undisputed Intercontinental Champion. Todd talks about bad blood between he & Bret after last year's Survivor Series. They show clips of Ray Combs standing by with the Hart family. Apparently, Shawn and his Knights have been talking bad about the Hart family and Bret says they've all had it up to here, and Stu is also there, looking like a corpse. Back in the interview, Shawn laughs about upsetting the Hart family, and says he has a history with Bret and what happened last year needs to be settled. But he still has his gold, and Bret has nothing, and his Knights are going to destroy Bret, The Rocket, and his brothers the substitute teacher and the fireman and he'll knock out Stu if he gets involved.

Match #2: Bret Hart/Owen Hart/Bruce Hart/Keith Hart w/ Stu Hart vs. Shawn Michaels/Red Knight/Blue Knight/Black Knight [Elimination Match]
Red Knight is Barry Horowitz, Blue is Greg Valentine, and Black is Jeff Gaylord. The Harts all have black and pink singlets on, and seeing Bret in a singlet is so weird. Keith Hart actually looks pretty good out there, to my shock. Bruce sucks a dick and is in too often. Gaylord is a solid cowardly heel, Barry is solid as usual, and Greg looks depressingly out of shape or not trying. Owen eliminates Black Knight with a Missile Dropkick. After some bad stuff, Red Knight is out after the Sharpshooter from Bret. Shawn's bumping is good, but he's not in enough, and Owen eliminates Blue Knight with his own Sharpshooter. Michaels vs. Bret & Owen finally happens and rules. Shawn whips Owen into Bret on the apron, and Bret flies into the railing. Shawn rolls up Owen to eliminate him, and he is shocked. Owen is pissed, and yells at his brothers for checking on Bret and possibly at Bret too. Owen leaves, and Bruce and Keith are clearly winded. Bret vs. Shawn is okay again, and Shawn bails. He's counted out and the Harts win. This got 30 minutes, which is ridiculous for a match with 1993 Greg Valentine and two non-wrestlers in Keith and Bruce. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if they focused more on Shawn, Bret, and Owen, who can all still really go at this point, but Bret and Shawn were hardly in.
*3/4

Owen Hart runs back down for the celebration, and he shoves Bret! They all try to calm Owen down, so he shoves Bret again. He starts yelling at him and Bret leaves. They go to Helen Hart's face in the crowd for a CONFLICTED~ shot, but she's smiling, so that's pretty funny. Bret walks up the ramp, and Owen talks to Stu on the floor. He says Bret's always gotta get in the way, and asks when he'll get his recognition. The family leaves, and Owen stays in the ring.

Owen finally leaves and Todd tries to interview him on the ramp, but Owen walks past him.

For the next match, Gorilla and JR switch from Radio WWF to commentary, and Vince and Heenan go to Radio WWF. Heenan and Gorilla have words, and it rules. WILL YOU STOP?!

WRESTLEMANIA X: MARCH 20TH, 1994.

A hype video airs for All-Americans vs. Foreign Fanatics later on.

Match #3: The Rock n' Roll Express [c] vs. The Heavenly Bodies w/ Jim Cornette [SMW Tag Team Championship]
JR claims this feud has been happening for 10 years, proving that he cannot tell the difference between the Bodies and the Midnight Express. This match is textbook Southern tag, which I'm a huge fan of, but it's so totally out of place on this show in a WWF city like Boston. The fans have no real idea how to react, but fuck it, this rules. Morton hits great Tope Suicida early on, and the RNRX clean house early on with a lot of clever shit. This is no RNRX vs. Midnight Express, due to the RNRX being past their primes and no Bobby Eaton in this, but hey. The control segment on Morton was pretty great, but there's a reason Morton is known for hot tags and Gibson isn't known for anything, and it's because Gibson is not a good hot tag. He could be worse, I guess, but yeah. The finishing run was kind of messy too in terms of the ref missing a cue on Cornette's interference, but Del Ray comes off the top with Cornette's racket to Gibson on a pin, and Pritchard rolls on top to win the belts. 90% of this was really great stuff, and with a better crowd, this would be very fondly remembered.
***

Clips air from Superstars of Doink announcing that every member on his team is Doink.

In the back, Team Bam Bam all devours a turkey and they legit sell it like Doink cloned himself. They say it's taken care of, and I had to cap this:

Posted Image

The Four Doinks come out, and it's just normal wrestlers in their gear but with Doink makeup and hats on. It's The Bushwhackers and Men on a Mission, which sounds awful, BUT MABEL AS DOINK IS THE MOST TERRIFYING THING I'VE EVER SEEN OH MY GOD

Posted Image

Match #4: Men on a Mission/The Bushwhackers w/ Oscar vs. Bam Bam Bigelow/Bastion Booger/The Headshrinkers w/ Afa & Luna Vachon [Elimination Match]
This is AWFUL, and BBB and Fatu can only do so much. Too much Headshrinkers bullshit, Booger, and Mo in this. Not enough Headshrinkers mauling or BBB vs. Mabel fat collisions. I'm not even going over eliminations, but the Four Doinks won. The Mabel vs. BBB ending is the only reason this gets any points. At least this was only 10 minutes.
1/2*

Post-match, Shitty Face Doink mocks Bam Bam on the video wall.

In the back, Todd Pettengill is with The Foreign Fanatics. Cornette responds to criticism by saying they're upholding the fine American tradition of winning at any cost, and you can not only ask Tatanka about their power, but ask his people about that tradition. AMAZING! Cornette says they'll carve up four turkeys tonight, and they'll destroy the All Americans. BONZAI!

Match #5: Lex Luger/The Undertaker/The Steiner Brothers w/ Paul Bearer vs. Yokozuna/Ludvig Borga/Quebecer Jacques/Crush w/ Mr. Fuji, Johnny Polo, & Jim Cornette [Elimination Match]
Maybe the best collection of managers in one single match. Rick vs. Yoko and Borga rules early on, but he makes a mistake of not tagging out, and they can isolate him. Yoko takes his awesome bump to the floor, and Borga breaks out his awesome body punches. Rick & Borga botch up their finishing spot, as Rick is supposed to be caught off the top into a Powerslam, but Borga was too far away, so he had to quickly try catch him, but Rick was already kind of too low, so it looked bad, but Borga pins Rick to eliminate him. Crush vs. Scott is not so good, since Crush is a sack of shit, but on the ramp, officials and referees try to restrain Randy Savage as he comes out! Unfortunately, they get him to the back and Crush is still in this. He comes out again and is held out and when Scott sends Crush out, Crush goes after Randy. He is counted out, THANK FUCK. Luger has a very poor hot tag, and eliminates Jacques with an awful Flying Elbow off the middle ropes, Bret-style. Except his looks awful. Scott Steiner vs. Ludvig and Yoko rules, and Yoko eliminates him with a Legdrop. Yoko and Borga beating on Luger was fun, and Taker vs. Yoko RULED. Yoko was baffled by Taker sitting up after everything, and they fought on the floor. Both men were counted out, so it was Luger vs. Borga. Ludvig is again amazing, and Luger makes a shitty comeback and wins with the Flying Forearm. The Steiners, Ludvig, Taker, and Yoko all ruled in this. Jacques didn't get much of a chance, and Luger and Crush sucked out loud.
**1/2

Luger celebrates again. Yay America, I guess. Although the awful forcedness of Luger as pro-America top babyface is kind of making me root for the evil foreigners.

Owen Hart vs. Marty Jannetty, WWF Live - Madison Square Garden (November 27th)
They do pretty solid matwork in this, and Owen's way of carrying himself in a more frustrated and angry manner throughout the entire match is pretty great. Since I did 1998 almost 2 years ago, I had forgotten about Owen's great Belly to Belly, and it rules even more at this point. Lots of high quality back and forth in this, and what not. Really well executed spotfest. Marty hurt his ankle on a leapfrog, but Owen has no sympathy and puts him in the Sharpshooter to win.
**3/4

The Quebecers [c] w/ Johnny Polo vs. The Steiner Brothers [WWF Tag Team Championship], WWF Live - Madison Square Garden (November 27th)

Scott Steiner vs. PCO totally rules early on, and this is basically the same structure as the title switch from Raw, only with more Quebecers stalling early on. This also has more PCO hurling his body around, which rules. PCO's missing LE CANNONBALL~ bump is still amazing, and Rick got the big hot tag. This also had a way better finishing run and shit hot crowdd by the end, so this was the better of their two matches so far. Scott hit the Frankensteiner and right before the ref hit 3, Jacques dove at the ref and rolled out to the floor with him. The Steiners think they won, but it was just by DQ, so lol. THEY'RE NOT THE MOUNTIES!

TONIGHT: Razor Ramon vs. Diesel in a non-title match, and the presentation for WWF Superstar of the Year

Match #1: The Steiner Brothers vs. Mike Khoury/Reno Riggins
Usual super fun Steiner squash, with a Steiner Screwdriver to spice it up. Scott hits the Frankensteiner on Mike for the win.
*3/4

At ringside, Vince and Heenan talk about SurSer, and a sign reading "TALK ABOUT WCW" is taken away on-screen. They talk about Yoozuna's fear of The Undertaker in the main event after Taker kept sitting up.

Match #2: Razor Ramon vs. Diesel
Not bad, and quite frankly, shockingly average. Shocking, because Diesel isn't very good yet. His work on the lower back was good if pretty basic, and Razor's selling during the control segment was good. Of course, he totally forgot about it when he made his big comeback. He had Diesel set for the end when Shawn Michaels ran down and attacked for the DQ.
**1/2

Shawn hits the SCM on Razor, and brings Razor's IC Title into the ring. He sets him up for a Piledriver on the belt, but 1-2-3 Kid runs out to the ring. He pulls Shawn off, and runs him off, and Shawn and Diesel bail.

Match #3: Bam Bam Bigelow w/ Luna Vachon vs. John Crystal
Really fun Bam Bam mauling. Bam Bam wins with his great Enzuiguri.
*3/4

Footage airs from Superstars of Jack Tunney saying from now on there can only be one Doink. This is followed by footage from the next day on Wrestling Challenge, where Doink debuted Dink. Son of a whore.

In the ring, Vince McMahon is in the ring with the Superstar of the Year trophy. He says the voting was so close that they also want to recognize the runner up, and he brings out Lex Luger. He thanks everyone who voted for him, etc. etc. etc. He introduces the 1993 Superstar of the Year, Bret Hart! Luger shakes his hand and leaves, and Vince interviews Bret. He thanks the fans for always being in his corner. He promises that in 1994, he'll do everything in his power to live up to this award and win back the WWF Title!

Clips air of the Bret/Owen altercation from Survivor Series.

Match #4: Owen Hart vs. Chris Duffy
Owen comes out with a pair of Hitman sunglasses of his brother's, and hands them to a kid at ringside hahahahahhaha. Solid showcase for Owen, and he wins with the Sharpshooter.
*3/4

Post-match, Heenan tries to interview Owen about Survivor Series, but Owen walks away.

Shawn Michaels vs. 1-2-3 Kid is announced for next week.

Match #5: Ludvig Borga vs. Scott Taylor
Really brutal squash from Borga. It's like he was trying to run Scott out of wrestling so we'd never have to see the Worm, so he had brutal body blows, knees, and a crazy headbutt to the face. Borga wins with the Torture Rack.

TONIGHT: Michaels vs. Kid!

At ringside, they hype it up and then kill my excitement by saying Crush and Shitty Face Doink will be in action. Heenan also mocks Monsoon again.

Match #1: Shawn Michaels vs. 1-2-3 Kid
Shawn again brings his IC belt with him. Kid looks weirdly nervous early on, but it actually fits his entire "lucky kid" character really well, so I like it. Kid took a number of totally insane and brutal bumps in this, and Shawn looked pretty good in control. I still really hate him, but the cocksucker improved a ton in 1993. Really great highspots in this, and they managed to keep it focused in the downtime. Shawn hit the kick, and then hit the Razor's Edge! He pulled him up, and hit another one, and Razor Ramon came out now. Shawn tried a 3rd, but Razor pulled Kid out and that's where the match ends.
***

Shawn goes out to the floor, and he slaps Razor! Razor chases him up the ramp to the back, but when Razor walks through the curtain, Diesel decks him with his big KO Punch! Razor goes down, and Shawn pounces and starts punching the shit out of him. He pulls him up, and hits the RAZOR'S EDGE TO RAMON ON THE CONCRETE OH FUCK! Referees come out to keep Shawn away, and he holds up his IC belt and leaves.

Match #2: The Quebecers w/ Johnny Polo vs. Mike Walsh/Bert Centeno
Polo rules it again by sitting in a lawn chair at ringside. Pretty fun squash for the champions. PCO destroys jobbers by hurling his weight around, etc. LE CANNONBALL~ ends it.
*3/4

Post-match, they put Bert in the lawn chair in the ring and PCO Lariats him out of the chair.

ROYAL RUMBLE: JANUARY 22ND, 1994!

Owen Hart is standing by somewhere, and they ask for his thoughts on Bret Hart winning the award last week. Owen says it's great and sarcastically says it's a huge surprise, but he says he has an even bigger surprise that'll finally make people talk about Owen Hart.

Match #3: Doink w/ Dink vs. Tony Devito
This is waaaaaaaay too long and really a huge pile of shit until Doink wins with the Whoopee Cushion.
1/4*

Match #4: Crush w/ Mr. Fuji vs. Tony Roy

Savage calls in during this from England and they announce Savage vs. Fatu next week. Crush beats up the jobber a lot, it goes too long, and it ends with the Head Crusher.
1/2*

NEXT WEEK: The Undertaker, Adam Bomb, Smoking Gunns all in action, Savage vs. Fatu

Gorilla Monsoon comes out and walks to the announce table. He says he warned Heenan, and he just won a free trip out of here. Monsoon grabs Heenan by the collar, and walks with him to the back. Heenan tries to beg, but Monsoon says it's too late. He throws him out of the building along with his stuff, and he says he's history before shutting the door. Heenan collects his things and tearfully salutes the building before walking off. This would be the last time we see Bobby Heenan until WrestleMania X7. :(

On TBS. Very Funny.

Seems all the jawing off at the mouth finally cost Heenan something.

Feels bad man.

AT RINGSIDE, JIM CORNETTE HAS TAKEN HEENAN'S PLACE! FUCK YEAH! They imply some kind of Taker/Yokozuna WWF Title match at the Royal Rumble but do not elaborate.

Match #1: Randy Savage vs. Fatu w/ Afa
This rules. Savage takes some great bumps, and this has numerous spots around common pro wrestling knowledge that Samoans have the hardest skulls. A number of great Fatu moments, and he ends it with his great clothesline bump. Savage takes out Afa on the apron, and the hits the Flying Elbow to win.
**3/4

At ringside, they talk about the Rumble, and Cornette says Luger can't be in the Rumble because if he were to win, he's still barred from challenging Yokozuna for the WWF Title, so it's useless to enter. Cornette says he's going to fly out to Canada tomorrow and talk to Jack Tunney about this.

Match #2: The Smoking Gunns vs. Jim Messenger/Steve Smyth
Steve is clearly a huge retard, but I hope Jim Messenger has a British relative named Tim Messenger. Would I shock anyone by saying this sucked a barrel of cocks? Lou Albano came out to watch for some reason and Bart won with a Flying Bulldog.
1/2*

Footage airs of the Shawn Michaels/Razor Ramon confrontation from Raw last week.

IRS comes out for a squash and he looks in the briefcase, and the camera sees Razor Ramon's gold necklaces in there!

Match #3: Irwin R. Schyster vs. Todd Mata
Nothing match, and IRS wins with the Write-Off.
1/2*

Yokozuna vs. The Undertaker for the WWF Title at the Royal Rumble is officially announced in a Casket Match, and Cornette says they never signed up for a casket match, and it's another thing he has to talk to the corrupt Jack Tunney about. Vince says Cornette put in his fine print about how Taker would get no rematch, but didn't read Bearer's fine print about how it was a Casket Match.

Match #4: The Undertaker w/ Paul Bearer vs. JS Storm
I expected Taker to be a better jobber squasher, but this was bland and subpar. He hit the Chokeslam and Tombstone to win.
1/2*

Post-match, Taker and Bearer put the jobber in a bodybag.

A montage of all the Jeff Jarrett videos airs, hyping HIS IN-RING DEBUT NEXT WEEK! YES!

A hype video airs for Tatanka vs. Ludvig Borga II next week on Raw.

Match #5: Rick Martel vs. Tim McNeany
Martel briefly makes the jobber look good before he starts to dominate in great fashion. Martel wins with the Boston Crab.
*3/4

Footage airs from Superstars this last weekend where Vince McMahon interviewed Owen Hart. He says he's sick and tired of being in Bret's shadow, and he challenges him to a match to prove to everyone that he can beat him.

Match #6: Bret Hart vs. Brooklyn Brawler
Pretty solid Bret showcase. He works the arm in fine basic form before Brawler takes over with cheating. Bret makes his big comeback, and hits the Russian Leg Sweep and puts on the Sharpshooter to win.

Time for some more Coliseum.

Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels [Steel Cage Match], WWF Live - Utica, NY (December 1st)
This match clearly burned Utica to the ground. Shawn immediately jumps Bret as he comes in. Bret gets back in it by using the cage, and from there, it has a great feel of a rough fight. Both men repeatedly sell the combined damage of the cage shots really well and have a number of brutal bumps into the side. There were several AMAZING desperate saves in this, and yeah, this is really really good. I figured it'd be fun, but not super memorable, but this caught me by surprise. Both men were climbing down to the floor, but when Bret slammed Shawn's face into the cage, his leg slipped and Shawn was caught upside down, so Bret dropped and won. They packed a TON into 11-12 minutes.

Yokozuna [c] w/ Mr. Fuji vs. Bret Hart [WWF Championship - Steel Cage Match], WWF Inside The WWF (December 15th)
This was slower than the MSG match, but with a lot of the same spots. This had more fun Yoko bumping early on and shit, and the same basic Bret stuff to work around the fatness of Yoko. The actual wrestling parts of this are mostly good, but it drags when Yoko's trying to get out the door. The stuff with the bucket of salt went on WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long in this, unlike MSG, and eventually Fuji threw salt in Bret's eyes and Yoko got out to win.

Shawn Michaels comes out to be Vince's co-host for the evening. Wrestlers taking turns to do commentary for the night is a pretty great idea that more people should do.

Before the opener, it's announced that Shawn Michaels is entering the Royal Rumble, and President Jack Tunney is currently deliberating on whether or not to let Lex Luger into the Royal Rumble match.

Match #1: Jeff Jarrett vs. PJ Walker
HA HA OH MAN. This is a lot of fun. Jarrett strutting and making PJ look good. JJ hits a great clothesline at one point and wins with a DDT.
**

Match #2: Men on a Mission w/ Oscar vs. Duane Gill/Barry Hardy

Mabel killin white foke was great in this, but this needed more of it. Mo still sucks, but this had enough Mabel to get M.O.M. finally on the board. Mabel wins with a Big Splash off the middle rope.
*

Match #3: Ludvig Borga vs. Tatanka

This actually kind of ruled. Tatanka came out with a ton of fire and pounded the shit out of Borga, but he kept getting up and eventually hit an amazing open hand strike to the face to come back. He ran through his great looking offense, but Tatanka made his comeback. Yokozuna and Fuji came out to watch and Fuji hit Tatanka with the flag. Yoko came in and attacked Tatanka for the DQ.
**1/2

Tatanka began fighting back and had Yoko reeling, but Borga attacked from behind. Lex Luger runs out to save though and Tatanka runs off Borga. Luger hits Yoko with his illegal forearm, and slams him again and Luger and Tatanka celebrate.

Match #4: Adam Bomb w/ Harvey Whippleman vs. Mark Thomas
Another shitty Bomb squash.
1/2*

A vignette airs for a new wrestler. He's a stock car racer named Thurman Plugg, but he says his friends call him Sparky. He's excited to be racing, but he can't wait to come to the WWF, and nobody's going to stop Sparky Plugg.

They replay the clips from Superstars two weeks ago, where Owen Hart challenged Bret Hart to a match to prove he can beat him.

Footage from this last weekend on Superstars airs, with Vince asking Bret Hart if he'll accept. Bret says he knows people would love to see that, and that people want to see a great controversial fight, and he's never ducked any challenge. He says he'll wrestle anyone and live up to his reputation, but under no circumstances will he fight his brother.

Owen Hart comes out for a match, and again gives a pair of Bret's glasses to a kid at ringside.

Match #5: Owen Hart vs. Mike Bell
Owen looked super great in this. All good matwork to begin, great on offense, and he hit his great Belly to Belly and put on the Sharpshooter to win.
**

A pretape airs with Paul Bearer welcoming us to The Undertaker's private casket workshop, and the top of a casket with Kamala's symbols is seen by the door. CONTINUITY! He says a special casket is being made for Yokozuna and it's a double-wide, double-deep casket. The camera cuts to Taker working on something and REST...IN...PEACE....

Match #6: The Headshrinkers w/ Afa vs. Phil Apollo/Jerry Seavy
Seavy is awful. Looks afraid to bump, uncoordinated, etc. SAMU PUNISHES HIM WITH A ROLLING SUPERKICK TO THE GODDAMN TEMPLE SHIIIIIIIIIIT. Fatu kills him with his great Splash to win.
*1/2

Vince announces that The Quebecers will be his co-hosts next week, and it will be Jannetty vs. Johnny Polo!

Match #1: Lex Luger vs. Barry Horowitz

During this, Jacques shits on Luger for oiling himself up, and Vince says it enhances his look a great deal. Luger is again not very good, and Horowitz controls with cheating before Luger makes his comeback. Luger wins with a Superplex.
*

Match #2: Marty Jannetty vs. Johnny Polo

This gets like 10 minutes and is actually pretty solid. Good back and forth and bumping from both men. Nothing amazing or anything, but yeah. PCO gets involved and helps Polo with illegal leverage on a roll up to win FUCK YEAH!
**1/2

PCO and Marty fight post-match, and this is where the file ends. Awesome work.
