NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 NWA World Tag Team Champions: Kid Kash/Dallas, Since 4/21/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: Frankie Kazarian, Since 3/31/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA Impact June 4th, 2004 Orlando, FL This is the debut of the six sided ring. AS WELL AS TEAM CANADA'S AWESOME THEME SONG! Also, matches have a 10:00 time limit. Match #1: Petey Williams/Bobby Roode/Eric Young w/ Scott D'Amore vs. Hector Garza/Amazing Red/Sonjay Dutt Fun spotfest to open the show, given 6 minutes or so. Team Canada has a good control seg, since it's basically all Roode doing basic heel stuff and cutting off tags, with Petey and Young coming in for brief spurts. Awesome finishing run of big moves and then Garza beats Roode with the Corkscrew Moonsault, now named the Torneo, for the win. **3/4 TONIGHT: Michael Shane vs. Chris Sabin vs. Elix Skipper vs. ??? in an X Title #1 Contender's Match KOTM recap. TNA FLASHBACK: Jarrett and Toby Keith fight THIS WEEK ON TNA: Kazarian vs. the #1 Contender, the NWA Tag Champions vs. whoever is voted to fight them on the internet Match #2: Abyss vs. Shark Boy Good squash, due to Abyss acting like a monster for once, and Sharkie taking huge bumps. Goldilocks watches in the back. Abyss wins with the Black Hole Slam. *1/2 Match #3: Kid Kash/Dallas [c] vs. America's Most Wanted [NWA World Tag Team Championship] This was actually really great for 5 minutes. Good Kash/Hoyt control seg on Storm, with a mix of cheating and cool offense. Chris Harris is back in his best role, being a really good hot tag. Finishing run had some nice spots, and Harris gets a schoolboy on Hoyt to win the titles. FUCKING FINALLY. FINALLY. **3/4 Mike Tenay brings out Dusty Rhodes, and he hypes up the show so far. Jeff Jarrett comes out to interrupt him and he says he used to respect Dusty Rhodes a lot, and when he was 15, Dusty Rhodes was the man and he was his favorite, BUT THAT WAS 20 DAMN YEARS AGO. He tells him to get out of town before he runs him out himself, but he refuses to leave. Jeff goes to leave, but then cheap shots him. He beats on him, but 3 Like Kru runs out to save. Of course, Jeff Jarrett gets the best of that, somehow, as he lays out Killings with a guitar shot. Everyone comes out for the main event, and the mystery X Division guy is AJ STYLES BAH GAWD! Match #4: AJ Styles vs. Chris Sabin vs. Elix Skipper vs. Michael Shane [X Division #1 Contender's Match] Really incredible six minute spotfest. Crowd was super hot, which helped, but everyone got to show off. It was primarily an AJ showcase, which makes sense, since it's the first show for a new audience and he's basically the draw. But Sabin and Skipper both also got to show off a lot, and they had huge dives. Shane is Shane. AJ gets him with the Styles Clash for the win. *** |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 6/4/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: Frankie Kazarian, Since 3/31/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA-TNA June 9th, 2004 Nashville, TN TONIGHT: Jarrett's celebration, Kazarian/AJ for the X Title In a nearby building, Raven is waiting, and Tenay says he's challenged Sabu to fight him in an Empty Arena Match! Red carpet is rolled out and Jeff Jarrett comes out in an amazing tuxedo with his guitar and the belt and is announced as King of the Mountain. He calls Vince Russo out to the ring to strap the belt around his waist and to put a crown on his head, and there is a crown in the ring. Russo comes out, annoyed, and for whatever reason, he actually puts the belt around his waist and the crown on his head. He says TNA is not all about Jeff Jarrett (theoretically), and they all put in work to get them a TV show and to increase ratings and Jeff says it's all because of him. Russo says he won't have that belt for long, so Jeff shoves him down. 3 Live Kru runs out to get Jarrett, but he bails. In the back, Hudson is with Elix Skipper. He says Triple X was voted to face AMW, but Daniels got injured in Japan, and he's going to be out for a few weeks. The NYC then comes in and then says they've been given the shot. AWFUL. Match #1: America's Most Wanted [c] vs. Johnny Swinger/Glenn Gilberti w/ Trinity [NWA World Tag Team Championship] This is basically a mirror of the awful AMW/Team Me series. AMW tries real hard, but they have awful opponents. AMW wins this time, at least. *1/2 Siaki, Desire, and IRISH PAT KENNEY run out and fight with The NYC. In the back, Hudson interviews Kid Kash and Dallas. Kash says they should have gotten that rematch if Daniels got himself hurt, and he's being discriminated against because he's too good. He says it's no problem, and he's going to put some gold back around his waist soon enough. In the empty arena, Raven is still waiting. In the back, Sabu stares at a picture of The Sheik. Match #2: Chris Sabin vs. Michael Shane w/ Tracy This is easily their best singles match together yet. Sabin has a ton of awesome bumps and a killer dive. Shane is not super impressive, but does nothing awful. They do spots and Shane throws Sabin into Tracy on the apron, and he then hits the Superkick for the win. **3/4 In the empty arena, new TNA interviewer Shane Douglas has been sent to interview Raven, who is lying down in the corner with a dented trash can as a pillow. He says not once has Sabu ever fought him, and he knows it's because Sabu is terrified of him. He has a hunch, and he threw this challenge out tonight so he could be sure. He says he always asked Paul if he could fight Sabu, and every other time he did that with someone, the match happened, but it never did with Sabu. He says he brought Sabu to TNA because he wanted to finally fight him, and if Sabu is willing to fight him in this arena tonight, he'll retire from the sport. In the back, Dutt talks to Sabu, and he says he'll tell Raven what he said. Why is Sabu talking to this faggot? Match #3: Sonjay Dutt vs. David Young vs. Shark Boy vs. D-Ray 3000 This sort of just happens for a while. Dutt rolls up Young for the win. *3/4 In the back, Hudson is with 3LK and says he's booked Jarrett vs. all of them in a gauntlet match. Konnan says he'll fight him in a Barrio Strap Match in which the first one to get to 10 lashes wins, BG will fight him in a Trailer Park Trash Match, which is I guess a street fight, and then Killings will fight him in a GHETTO JUSTICE MATCH. No idea what that is. Match #4: Jerry Lynn/Hector Garza/Heavy Metal vs. Petey Williams/Bobby Roode/Eric Young w/ Scott D'Amore This is perfectly fine, but nothing special. Lynn is awful against all of these guys. They do stuff, and Lynn gets distracted by D'Amore and Roode rolls him up to win. **1/4 Team Canada attacks post-match, and they tear up the NWA flag that Lynn brought out. Chris Sabin and Elix Skipper then run out to make the save. In the empty arena, Sonjay Dutt shows up and says Sabu isn't going to fight him, because he's going to respect the promise he made. Raven is mad, and he Evenflows him. He pulls out handcuffs and cuffs him to the ring ropes. He yells to tell Sabu that promises are made to be broken, and he leaves the building. Match #5: Jeff Jarrett vs. Konnan/BG James/Ron Killings [Triple Jeopardy Gauntlet Match] This is fine enough, I guess. Jarrett vs. Konnan and James are short and not awful as a result. Jarrett wins over Konnan by getting to 10 lashes after using powder to blind him. James is next and after a little bit, Jeff wins with The Stroke. Killings/Jarrett is pretty great for the short time it gets. Killings avoids a guitar shot now, and Killings gets a schoolboy to pin the champion. **1/4 GOLDILOCKS' CHALLENGE: ABYSS VS. ERIK WATTS IN A "ERIK WATTS' CONTRACT VS. ERIK WATTS' MONEY" MATCH! Match #6: Frankie Kazarian [c] vs. AJ Styles [NWA X Division Championship] Good AJ carryjob. They got 20 minutes and actually built a normal match instead of it being rushed, which was great, but it kind of fell apart at the end. Still though, fantastic job by AJ of bringing this mediocre guy up to his level and making him look great. Lots of nasty bumps from both guys. AJ hits a botched Spiral Tap for the win. *** On the stage, Kid Kash and Dallas attack AJ Styles to end the show. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 6/4/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 6/9/2004 TNA Impact June 11th, 2004 Orlando, FL Match #1: Kid Kash w/ Dallas vs. Amazing Red Really good spotfest for 4 minutes. Lots of big bumps by Red, and then he had an awesome comeback. Kash hits the Moneymaker for the win. **1/2 THIS WEEK ON TNA: TEAM CANADA VS. TEAM NWA IN A FLAG MATCH! In the back, Dusty Rhodes is hanging out and Vince Russo comes over and asks to talk to him in private. Match #2: AJ Styles [c] vs. Frankie Kazarian [NWA X Division Championship] They only have like 7 minutes here, but it might be even tighter as a result. Classic AJ performance, super crisp offense, huge bumps, and makes Kazarian look awesome. AJ has a killer counter into the Styles Clash, managing to get in position from a crucifix pin position. AJ retains. *** Kid Kash and Dallas attack agin, but Ron Harris runs out to save. OH GOD NO. THIS WEEK ON TNA: AMW VS. ABYSS/MONTY BROWN! AJ VS. DALLAS! Jeff Jarrett hype video. Match #3: 3 Live Kru vs. The Naturals/David Young Solid enough 3LK showcase. The heels bump around well, and they make Killings especially look great. Killings beats Young with the Scissors Kick. *3/4 Jeff Jarrett comes out onto the stage and says he's still King of the Mountain, and Killings only beat him after he was in two other matches. He says this Wednesday, but then Dusty Rhodes cuts him off. He says that on the 2nd Anniversary Show on June 23rd, Jarrett will defend the title against Ron Killings! Killings then says it's a long fall down from the top of the mountain, and Jeff says he's bringing people next Wednesday to take them out. Match #4: Monty Brown vs. Sonny Siaki Another good Monty squash. This is basically all Monty Brown offense, so it was good. Pounce ends it. ** Hype video for AJ/Dallas. At ringside, Tenay clarifies that Raven and Sabu had a pact never to face each other, since they were both mentored by The Sheik. A video airs on Raven. Match #5: Petey Williams/Bobby Roode/Eric Young w/ Scott D'Amore vs. Abismo Negro/Mr. Aguila/Heavy Metal Team Mexico looked AWFUL here. Really sloppy on all their big spots, and their dives barely even connected. Every bad image people have of lucha was enforced here. D'Amore hits Metal with the hockey stick flag, and Roode gets the pin for the win. *3/4 They beat on them. Hector Garza runs out to save, as well as Lynn, Sabin, and Skipper, and Team Canada bails. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 6/4/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 6/9/2004 NWA-TNA June 16th, 2004 Nashville, TN Match #1: 3 Live Kru vs. JEFF JARRETT'S ELITE GUARD [Chad Collyer/Hernandez/Onyx] What a horrible looking group. They all have military pants on. It's not a bad match, since it's mostly Truth in there. Hernandez does his power spots, and then the others do stuff too at the end. Killings beats Hernandez with the Scissors Kick. **1/4 Jarrett comes out with the guitar and tries to sneak attack Truth. Vince Russo comes down to try and stop him, so Jarrett breaks the guitar on his head. TONIGHT: AMW vs. Abyss/Monty for the belts, AJ/Dallas, the flag match, and Raven/Dutt Match #2: Trinity vs. Angel Williams Don't care. Recap of the NYC vs. Other Faggots feud. Match #3: Sonny Siaki/Irish Pat Kenney vs. Glenn Gilberti/Johnny Swinger [Humiliation Box Match] The losers will have to wear outfits picked out for them by the winners for the next 30 days. This is pretty fucking horrible, and Siaki beats Gilberi with the Siakalypse Now. 3/4* In the back, Hudson interviews Raven. He says The Sheik is dead, and the promise Sabu made to him no longer has any meaning. He says he's going to maim and torture Sonjay Dutt tonight if that's what it will take to get Sabu in the ring with him, and says just like bones, promises are made to be broken. Match #4: Raven vs. Sonjay Dutt [No DQ] This is Dutt's best singles match yet, since it's Raven being violent and killing him for awhile. He gets in like no offense, so it's beautiful. Raven keeps getting on the mic and yelling for Sabu to come out. He duct tapes Dutt's hands together and busts him open with a screwdriver. He hits the drop toehold into the chair and then to be a dick, he rolls him up for the win instead of hitting the Evenflow. **1/4 He duct tapes his legs together too, and calls for Sabu. THE LIGHTS GO OUT! SABU IS IN THE RING, YEAH! He helps Dutt out, but refuses to fight Raven. Raven slaps him and says his uncle wouldn't respect him being a coward, but Sabu shakes his head. Raven says he only trained Sabu because he was family, but Don Harris runs out with other security and Dusty Rhodes, and Raven leaves. In the back, Erik Watts agreed to Goldilocks' challenge from last week. Match #5: AJ Styles vs. Dallas w/ Kid Kash Awesome AJ performance here, using a lot of speed to avoid stuff. AJ ends up taking some huge bumps. He makes the big comeback, but Kash hits him with the nightstick now, and Dallas hits a Quackendriver for the win. **1/2 They keep attacking, but D'Lo Brown runs out to save! YEAH! In the back, NYC have been forced into their costumes. Disco is dressed as a leprechaun and Johnny is dressed as a hula dancer. Match #6: America's Most Wanted [c] vs. Abyss/Monty Brown [NWA World Tag Team Championship] This was fine enough. Brown and Abyss aren't exactly a great team, and this wasn't exactly a great match, but AMW did a good job. Good finishing run, and it ends abruptly with a DQ when The Naturals run out and they hit AMW with chair shots. **1/4 They then steal AMW's ring jackets, and they leave. Hype video for the flag match. Match #7: Jerry Lynn/Chris Sabin/Elix Skipper vs. Petey Williams/Bobby Roode/Eric Young w/ Scott D'Amore [Flag Match] This happens. Sabin and Skipper had some cool spots. Roode had nice power spots, and Young didn't do anything either good or bad. Lynn and Petey are drains on both of their teams as usual. Lynn almost is able to raise up the flag and put it on top of the pole, but D'Amore trips him off the top with the hockey stick and Young puts the Canadian flag on the pole for the win. **1/2 In the back, Hudson interviews Jarrett to end the show. He says Russo had no business being out there and says Killings will never forget the name Jeff Jarrett. No idea why this is ending the show. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 6/4/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 6/9/2004 TNA Impact June 18th, 2004 Orlando, FL Match #1: Chris Sabin vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Elix Skipper vs. Hector Garza vs. Michael Shane vs. Kazushi Miyamoto Fine spotfest. Miyamoto is a horrible imitation of Muta, with somehow even less good stuff than Muta had after his NWA run. Sabin and Skipper and Garza have some cool spots and Garza beats Miyamoto with the Torneo. **1/2 THIS WEEK ON TNA: LYNN VS. D'AMORE! RAVEN'S TRIBUTE TO THE SHEIK! SOME WOMENS MATCH! AJ/KASH FOR THE X TITLE! JARRETT/KILLINGS FOR THE NWA TITLE! The Naturals come out in AMW's entrance jackets, and AMW runs out they attack them. They get pulled apart by security and AMW is forced to leave. Match #2: The Naturals vs. Sabu/Sonjay Dutt Tenay explains that the Naturals are on the bubble of being fired due to never winning, and that's why they've attacked AMW. Nice story idea, but it would have been better to, you know, establish that before it started. Sabu was hardly in, but The Naturals looked good working over Dutt. Sabu has an awesome brief hot tag, and The Naturals beat Dutt with the Natural Disaster. **1/4 Sabu runs them off with a chair. Hype video for Jarrett/Killings. Match #3: Abyss w/ Goldilocks vs. D-Ray 3000 Another good Abyss squash. *1/2 Hype video for AJ/Kash. Match #4: AJ Styles vs. Mr. Aguila Really good AJ showcase. Not like there's a bad AJ Styles showcase though. Styles Clash does the deal. **1/2 Dallas comes out to attack AJ again, but like Wednesday, D'Lo Brown runs out to save. D'Lo gets on the mic and challenges the winner of Jarrett/Truth to a title match! Hype video for Lynn/D'Amore. Dusty Rhodes comes out to do commentary. It now becomes apparent that the Impact set has two different entrance ramps. I'd criticize this as being unnecessary as it means they can fit in less seats and thus make less money, but they're making no money from ticket sales anyways, so whatever. Match #5: Ron Killings vs. Eric Young 3LK and D'Amore are at ringside. This is basically a Truth showcase, but Young bumps well, and it's long enough to qualify as an actual match, like AJ/Aguila. Killings gets the win with the Scissors Kick. **1/4 Jarrett comes out from behind and blindsides Dusty with a guitar shot! Killings goes after him, and Jarrett bails out to the stage. Russo comes out and says if Jarrett tries to get DQ'd this Wednesday, he will lose the title to Killings. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 6/4/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 6/9/2004 NWA-TNA June 23rd, 2004 Nashville, TN Match #1: America's Most Wanted [c] vs. Nosawa/Kazushi Miyamoto [NWA World Tag Team Championship] This sure happens. AMW does stuff, and they win with the Death Sentence. *3/4 The Naturals come out in AMW's entrance gear, and they lay them out with chair shots. They then pull out lipstick and put it on their faces, which is pretty weird. In the back, Hudson is with Kid Kash, who is on crutches. He says he got his leg hurt, and AJ's lucky, because now he gets to hold onto his title for a few more weeks before he's cleared to wrestle. Match #2: Trinity vs. Desire [Stretcher Match] This is awful. Big Vito debuts to help Trinity win. 1/4* In the back, Hudson is with Vince Russo. He says if Jarrett uses a guitar tonight, he'll lose the title by DQ. Hudson asks who will replace Kid Kash tonight, and Russo says he's not answering that. Hype video for Lynn/D'Amore. Match #3: Jerry Lynn vs. Scott D'Amore This was a total bullshit match with D'Amore constantly trying to escape, and even hitting the ref to get DQ'd, but the ref won't do it. Lynn eventually catches him and hits the Cradle Piledriver to win. *1/4 Team Canada and Team NWA both run out to attack each man, and then Christopher Daniels makes his return to help Team NWA run off the Canadians. In the back, The NYC have to wear the stupid costumes. David Young comes over and recommends a Double or Nothing match, and Gilberti likes it. Match #4: Mascarita Sagrada vs. Pierrothcito FUCK YEAH SACRED LITTLE MASK! HE IS THE BEST! Showcase for his awesome and super smooth lucha. ** David Young comes out and lays out Sagrada. He tries to pin him to finally get a win, but it's not a match, so it doesn't count. D-Ray 3000 comes out to save the minis, but Young lays him out with a Spinebuster. The minis then pile on Young, and the ref counts three, so I guess Young loses again? In the back, Hudson interviews D'Lo Brown, who reiterates that he wants to be the next NWA Champion, BUT MONTY BROWN POUNCES HIM OUT OF NOWHERE! YEAH! He says he will be the next challenger. AJ Styles comes out for the title match, and yeah, his mystery challenger is Jeff Hardy. Match #5: AJ Styles [c] vs. Jeff Hardy [NWA X Division Championship] Jeff is in his awful phase, and is really really off and sloppy. It's a shame, because this is a dream match if Jeff is giving a shit. AJ does what he can with him. Some nice spots, and they do a surprisingly good job of protecting AJ for once by having them go completely even. Kid Kash and Dallas run in and attack AJ when Jeff is down for the DQ. This was not as good as AJ/Matt in 2005. **1/2 Jeff makes the save with a chair, and he and AJ nod at each other and they both celebrate. In the back, Sabu is walking, AND THERE'S A DUMMY OF THE SHEIK HANGING FROM A NOOSE FROM THE CEILING! A note on it says "NEVERMORE", so I guess that's Raven's tribute. Sabu is furious. Hype video for the main event. Before the main event, Russo comes out and finds a guitar under the ring, and he takes it to the back. Match #6: Jeff Jarrett [c] vs. Ron Killings [NWA World Heavyweight Championship] This is good, but not great. They sort of coast along for the first 10 minutes before they throw out all the smoke and mirrors and overbooking that will come to be associated with this Jarrett reign of terror. Ref bumps, cheating, weapons, etc. Jarrett has another guitar hidden under the steps, and he brings it in, but Killings gets it, and he hits Jeff with it. The ref then counts to three and Killings wins! **3/4 The decision is disputed by other referees and Jarrett, who is now suddenly fine, by the way. Russo comes out, as does Dusty Rhodes. Jeff says to do the right thing and give him his belt, and Dusty says sometimes the wrong decision is really the right one, and says to think with his heart. Russo takes the belt and says he'll have a decision on Impact. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 6/4/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 6/9/2004 TNA Impact June 25th, 2004 Orlando, FL Match #1: Chris Sabin/Amazing Red/Elix Skipper vs. Frankie Kazarian/Nosawa/Kazushi Miyamoto This didn't totally suck, which is an accomplishment when 1/3rd of the match is Nosawa and Miyamoto. The babyface team all delivered. Sabin and Red have great dives at the end, and Skipper gets Nosawa down with the Play of the Day for the win. **1/4 THIS WEEK ON TNA: AMW VS. THE NATURALS FOR THE BELTS! ABYSS VS. ERIK WATTS WITH THE STIPULATIONS! NYC VS. SIAKI/KENNEY AGAIN! AJ VS. KASH FOR THE X TITLE! D'LO VS. MONTY BROWN! Match #2: Monty Brown vs. Irish Pat Kenney Another good Monty squash. Kenney is a poor squash though, and the Pounce ends it. *1/2 Hype for D'Lo/Monty. Match #3: America's Most Wanted vs. Petey Williams/Bobby Roode w/ Scott D'Amore Solid match. Petey is the only really bad wrestler in this, and AMW works their usually solid formula tag. They tease the 10:00 time limit expiring, but then The Naturals come out and hit AMW with chairs again, and Team Canada steals the win. **1/2 Jeff Jarrett comes out and demands Russo make the decision to give him his belt back, but instead, Larry Zbyszko comes out and says Russo will make his decision on Wednesday. BOO. Jeff hits Larry with the guitar, and then 3LK runs out to save. Recap of AJ/HArdy. Match #4: AJ Styles/D'Lo Brown vs. Abyss/Dallas D'Lo isn't that good anymore, but he and AJ still make a pretty good tag team. The control seg by the big men is really boring, but it picks up again when AJ has his awesome hot tag. AJ rolls up Dallas for the win. **1/4 Kid Kash attacks AJ post-match, and then Monty Brown comes out to attack D'Lo. |

Dutt was useless though, and Petey vs. Dutt blew. Great finish, as Sabu blocks the hockey stick from Roode with a chair, breaking the stick, and he then gets the Arabian Facebreaker for the win. **1/4 In the back, Shane is with AJ Styles. AJ says apparently, Kid Kash got himself suspended, but he's signed to defend the title tonight, and anyone who wants a shot can have one tonight. There was a horrible segment with Jarrett, 3LK, Russo, the Elite Guard, etc. Jeff is still NWA Champion. Next week, it's 3LK and KEN SHAMROCK and Jarrett and The Elite Guard in GAUNTLET FOR THE GOLD. Match #2: Monty Brown vs. D'Lo Brown This is good for what it was, a 3-4 minute brawl. They fight a lot on the floor, and when they brawl to the back, the referee calls it a double count out. ** Hype video for the Double or Nothing Match. They still have yet to state rules for this. Match #3: Sonny Siaki/Irish Pat Kenney vs. Glenn Gilberti/Johnny Swinger [Double or Nothing Match] This sucked, again. Possibly even worse than the first match, but whatever, I guess. David Young interferes behind the ref's back, so Gilberti gets the win. Another ref comes out to tell the original ref what happened, and he restarts it. Kenney roll up Gilberti for the win. 1/2* Gilberti and Johnny yell at David Young. Vito and Trinity come out, and they are mad at The NYC. In the back, Hudson is with Goldilocks and Abyss. She says Erik Watts has always loved her, and when Abyss wins tonight, she'll rip up Watts' contract, so he'll never be seen again. That's awesome how is she the heel here? Match #4: Erik Watts vs. Abyss w/ Goldilocks [Watts' Contract vs. Watts' Money] Why hasn't Watts just sued her? This was pretty fucking atrocious too. Lots of horrible Watts offense and clubbering. Abyss gets maybe like a minute of offense here. Watts rakes his eyes from the apron, and then Abyss hits the Black Hole Slam to win. 3/4* In the back, Hudson interviews AMW. Harris says it's not about the titles, it's about pride. Storm says this started because The Naturals thought they were on the chopping block, and maybe it was true, maybe it wasn't, but they're sure as hell on the chopping blocks now. Match #5: America's Most Wanted vs. The Naturals I guess it's not for the belts? Regardless, this is very good. AMW are pissed off and fiery early on. The Naturals have a fine control seg, and the finishing run is good. XXX were skilled and tough, Team Me had experience, but the Naturals get by solely through cheating. I like that. They won with a roll up with Douglas holding Stevens' arms from the floor. **3/4 In the back, Hudson is with Dusty Rhodes. He says Jeff Hardy has a rock star presence, and he's going to do what he can to get him to TNA. In the back, Red, Michael Shane, Kazarian, Sabin, Daniels, and Skipper all go up to Russo and says they should get the title shot. Kazarian and Shane both say AJ doesn't belong in the X Division, and Daniels and Sabin dispute this, and they just want title shots. Russo makes it a six way match. Which is a nice sentiment, but uh, there's 7 people involved. Hudson then asks about Kid Kash's suspension and he says he's not at liberty to discuss it. Match #6: AJ Styles [c] vs. Chris Sabin vs. Elix Skipper vs. Amazing Red vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Michael Shane w/ Tracy [NWA X Division Championship] This is a great spotfest. Shane and Kazarian keep going after AJ. AJ vs. Sabin is a really great match up. Since AJ has a huge reputation, everyone tries to beat him to win the belt, so AJ is in for most of this. Which is the best way to make this great. AWESOME finishing run of offense and Red looked the best he's looked in about a year. AJ catches him trying a Frankensteiner and hits a Super Styles Clash to win. *** Team Canada runs out to attack AJ Styles now. Christopher Daniels comes out to save. Then in a horribly convoluted fashion, the D'Lo/Monty, AMW/Naturals, and Team Jarrett/3LK brawls all make their way to ringside. Ken Shamrock comes out and POINTS~ at Jarrett. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 6/4/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 6/9/2004 TNA Impact July 2nd, 2004 Orlando, FL KEN SHAMROCK ARRIVES Match #1: Elix Skipper vs. Alex Shelley FUCK YEAH ALEX SHELLEY! Shane and Kazarian come out to watch. Shelley makes Skipper look awesome, and even gets a great control seg, before putting him over with the Play of the Day. ** THIS WEEK ON TNA: -Shane/Kazarian vs. D-Ray/Shark Boy -Siaki/Desire vs. Vito/Trinity -Sabin/Red vs. Nosawa/Miyamoto vs. Team Canada -Monty Brown vs. D'Lo in a #1 Contender's Match -AMW vs. The Naturals for the belts -The Gauntlet for the Gold w/ Jarrett, Elite Guard, 3LK, and Shamrock Match #2: D'Lo Brown/America's Most Wanted vs. Nosawa/Kazushi Miyamoto/Makayenu Makayenu is pretty clearly David Young under a mask. This is a solid showcase for the babyface. This went on too long and the Japanese guys got some offense in, which is unfortunate since they all totally fucking suck. AMW beats Young with the Death Sentence. *1/2 The Naturals run out as the faces celebrate, and they steal the tag title belts and run to the back! Hype video for AMW/Naturals. Match #3: Monty Brown vs. Abismo Negro Good Monty squash. POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUNCE ends it. PERIOD. ** Hype video for D'Lo/Brown. Match #4: Chris Sabin/Amazing Red vs. Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian w/ Tracy This was pretty good, actually. There's something to be said for TNA's ability over their first few years to throw flawed wrestlers in tag teams to make them look better than they are (AMW, The Naturals, Elix Skipper, Shazarian, Kid Kash, etc.). Sabin has a good hot tag, but is then beat with the Superkick. **1/2 In the back, Shane Douglas interviews Vince Russo, and somewhere, Biggie has a boner reading that. He admits he dropped the ball when Jeff Hardy was in the building, and he wants to offer him a contract and he says Dusty has his blessing to negotiate with Jeff. Hype video for GAUNTLET FOR THE GOLD. Jeff Jarrett comes out to do commentary. Match #6: 3 Live Kru vs. Bobby Roode/Eric Young/Johnny Devine w/ Scott D'Amore This was fine enough when Truth was in. Otherwise, it was a total dumpster fire for the 4 minutes it went. Jarrett hits BG James with the guitar, and Roode gets the win. *3/4 |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 7/7/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 6/9/2004 TNA Impact July 9th, 2004 Orlando, FL Match #1: Triple X vs. The Naturals Fuck it, Ki is gone until 2006, I can just call Daniels/Skipper this without confusion. This is pretty solid. XXX has their awesome double teams. The Naturals have a good control seg, despite not really being great at all. They go to the 10:00 time limit, so it goes to the judges. Judge Larry says XXX wins, because he always likes XXX. Sound logic. **3/4 THIS WEEK ON TNA: -Team Canada vs. Triple X/Sabin/Red -AJ vs. Kazarian and AJ vs. Shane in two X Title matches -AMW vs. The Naturals in a Ladder Match. AMW's entrance gear will be hanging, and if AMW wins, they get their rematch next week under their stips, but if they lose, they don't get one for 30 days. Why did The Naturals accept this match? -3LK/DUSTY/ZYBSZKO VS. JARRETT/SHAMROCK/THE ELITE GUARD IN A GUITAR ON A POLE MATCH Match #2: Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian w/ Tracy vs. Shark Boy/D-Ray 3000 Fun Shazarian showcase. Kazarian wins with the Flux Capacitor, which is unnecessary in a jobber squash, but whatevs. *3/4 Match #3: Abyss/Alex Shelley w/ Goldilocks vs. Jerrelle Clark/Mikey Batts BABY BEAR! ALSO, FUCK YEAH JERRELLE CLARK! Batts is awful though, but whatever. AWESOME SQUASH! Shelley does some cool spots, and Abyss kills them with power. This casts Abyss in a prototype of the one time he was actually great, as he teams with Shelley and squashes little guys. If you squint, it's The Embassy. Black Hole Slam ends it. ** Hype video for the 10 man tag. Match #4: 3 Live Kru vs. THE ELITE GUARD SO BAD. Truth was hardly in. Jarrett comes out and hits Konnan with the guitar, and Collyer covers to win. *1/4 NASCAR faggot Jeff Hammond has a segment. Don't care. He then joins commentary. Match #5: AJ Styles vs. Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams w/ Scott D'Amore AJ and Sabin do a good job carrying this, but Petey drags it down with some of his super contrived bullshit. Sabin is more willing to play along with him, which is unfortunate, but AJ will not. Shazarian comes out to attack AJ on the floor, which allows D'Amore to low blow Sabin, leading to the Canadian Destroyer for the win. **3/4 |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 7/7/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 6/9/2004 NWA-TNA July 14th, 2004 Nashville, TN The Naturals tell everyone not to steal PPVs. They found more unlikeable people than Frankie Kazarian, holy shit. It's like they're encouraging you to steal their shows. In the back, the NYC argued. Don't care. Match #1: AJ Styles vs. Michael Shane w/ Tracy These are no longer title matches. Nice work, TNA! Tenay says if they win their matches, then whoever beats AJ gets a title shot. Just like AJ did to Kazarian, he makes Shane look really great. Awesome AJ comeback, but he hits his leg on the railing when doing a Flipping Senton. Shane makes it back in, but AJ is hurt and can't get up, so Shane wins by count out. Awesome job selling by AJ. **3/4 Russo, Lynn, and other doctors come out to help AJ to the back. BUT HE STILL HAS TO FIGHT KAZARIAN LATER~ In the back, the NYC finds Pat Kenney and lays him out. Match #2: Abyss/Alex Shelley w/ Goldilocks vs. Sabu/Sonjay Dutt This is good. Shelley and Abyss continue to make a good team. Sabu is Sabu, and Shelley can make Dutt not awful, as he is at the peak of his powers here. They do stuff, AND THEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT BAH GAWD! Raven's voice is heard and he yells that The Sheik is DEAD. The lights come back on, and Sabu is hit with the Black Hole Slam by Abyss for the win. **1/2 In the back, Hudson interviews Dusty. He says Jeff Hardy will be in the Asylum next week to talk about his contract. Match #3: Triple X/Chris Sabin/Amazing Red vs. Petey Williams/Bobby Roode/Eric Young/Johnny Devine w/ Scott D'Amore This is fine enough. The Americans really carry it, since Devine works most of the match for Team Canada. Solid finishing run too, only like one or two stupidly contrived spots. Triple X beats Devine with the PowerPlex. **1/2 In the back, Hudson interviews Jarrett. He said he always survives because he's smarter than everybody else, and while Dusty and Russo are rolling out the red carpet for Jeff Hardy, they should be more concerned with taking care of the World Champion. Jarrett says he'll remain on top of this mountain until someone is man enough to get him off. AND MONTY BROWN WALKS UP NEXT TO HIM! YEAH! He says he sounds like an adult on Charlie Brown, and says he doesn't have to worry about the Hulkster BROTHER or Sting, and yells IT'S SHOWTIME! He says he needs to be concerned with the Alpha Male, and he smells him. He says he smells fear, and since Jeff's looking him in the eyes, he's taking that as an act of aggression. He says he has something he wants, and he's one POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE away from taking it. Hype for the 10 man. Match #4: Jeff Jarrett/Ken Shamrock/The Elite Guard vs. 3 Live Kru/Dusty Rhodes/Larry Zbyszko [Guitar on a Pole Match] My god, this sucked. Lots of really really mediocre brawling. Dusty ends up hitting Onyx with the guitar and dropping the elbow to win. I love Dusty, but him getting the win here is pretty fucking vintage TNA. *1/4 In the back, Michael Shane accuses AJ of faking an injury so he couldn't get pinned and would still have an excuse. It is time for AJ/Kazarian. Jerry Lynn comes out to replace AJ in this match, but AJ Styles comes out with his leg taped up to compete. Match #5: AJ Styles vs. Frankie Kazarian This is very logical, at least on AJ's end. AJ tries to keep it on the mat. Kazarian doesn't go for the leg, AT ALL. Shane and Tracy come out to help with interference, and Kazarian rolls him up for the win. **1/2 In the back, Hudson interviews AMW. They say they're going to become five time champions next week. Triple X comes over and FUCK YEAH! AMW AND XXX! Daniels says if they win the belts next week, they want the first shot. Match #6: America's Most Wanted vs. The Naturals [Ladder Match] The world no longer works on the level that I thought, clearly, since this was great. More based on hate and violence and trying to win than cool spots. AMW came in trying to hurt them, but the Naturals just wanted to win, and Storm got hurt after falling off the top and through a table on the floor. Harris then started trying to win more than trying to hurt them. Some cool spots too, and Storm pulls down the bag of the entrance gear for the win. *** They get on the mic and say their title match next week will be in SIX SIDES OF STEEL. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 7/7/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 6/9/2004 TNA Impact July 16th, 2004 Orlando, FL Match #1: Triple X vs. Nosawa/Kazushi Miyamoto Good XXX showcase. PowerPlex ends it. ** THIS WEDNESDAY: -AMW vs. Naturals for the belts in Six Sides of Steel -XXX vs. Mr. Aguila/Abismo Negro -Vito vs. Pat Kenney -The NYC/David Young vs. Shark Boy/D-Ray 3000/Referee Mike Posey -AJ/Lynn vs. Shane/Kazarian -Abyss vs. Sabu in a No DQ match -Jeff Hardy Raven/Sabu recap video. Match #2: Sabu vs. Alastair Ralphs Sabu did a fine job selling for the jabrone and making him look good. All his offense also ruled. Sabu wins with the Triple Jump Moonsault. ** Hype video for AMW/Naturals. Match #3: Alex Shelley w/ Goldilocks & Abyss vs. Roderick Strong GENERATION NEXT EXPLODES 5 MONTHS BEFORE THEY ACTUALLY BREAK UP! Abyss is not pleased with Goldilocks paying attention to Alex only. They get 4 minutes and Shelley has a lot of cool offense. Strong is still a baby here and doesn't develop into a great wrestler until like 2005, so he's not much here. Shelley wins with the 2K1 Bomb. ** Recap of Jeff Jarrett's stuff from Wed. Match #4: Monty Brown vs. Lex Lovett ANOTHER great squash. POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE ends it. ** Hype video for Jeff Hardy. A sitdown interview aits with Hammond and Jarrett. Jeff Jarrett says he took out Hogan and Sting when they tried to come to TNA, and he survived Raven coming in for his belt too, and he warns Jeff Hardy to tread lightly. Too many Jeffs. Match #5: America's Most Wanted vs. Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian w/ Tracy This is pretty good, but is also butchered by a commercial so only 6 of 10 minutes are shown, and most of the control seg is gone. Great finishing run, and then they go to the 10:00 draw. They go to the judge, and this week it's Dusty Rhodes. Obviously, he sides with his friends, and AMW wins. **3/4 The Naturals come out to attack AMW, but Triple X runs out to save. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 7/7/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 6/9/2004 NWA-TNA July 21st, 2004 Nashville, TN Match #1: Triple X vs. Abismo Negro/Mr. Aguila Fun enough XXX showcase. Daniels beats Aguila with the Angel's Wings. **1/4 In the back, Hudson interviews Monty Brown. He disputes Jeff Jarrett being King of the Mountain since he's never beaten the Alpha Male, and says that ring is his SERENGETI! FUCK YEAH! Truth comes up and says he's crazy, and he never get the rematch he deserved, but Brown says if he tries to step in front of him, he'll get the POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUNCE. PERIOD. Match #2: Big Vito w/ Trinity vs. Irish Pat Kenney [Sicilian Street Fight] Hey, this blew. Lots of really mediocre clubbering and brawling, and no crazy bumps or cool spots to make it not totally atrocious. Trinity gets a low blow on IPK, and Vito gets a DDT to win. This feud is worse than anything on Smackdown 2004. 3/4* In the back, Johnny Swingers talks to David Young. he says Gilberti isn't here tonight, so now they have a handicap match against those jobbers and the ref Young's been having issues with, and says as far as he's concerned, this is his last chance. Match #3: Johnny Swinger/David Young vs. Shark Boy/D-Ray 3000/Mike Posey This was also pretty horrible. Mostly Johnny wrestling. The ref sucked, obviously. D-Ray rolls up Young to win. 3/4* Tenay says he is now 0-87, which is impressive, since he was 0-52 in June. Young gets on the mic and challenges Posey to a match next week, and says if he loses, he'll leave TNA. In an SUV limo, Dusty Rhodes steps out, and addresses someone in the limo. Tenay says it's Jeff Hardy. In the back, Hudson interviews Goldilocks and Shelley. She says she likes collecting contracts now and challenges anyone who wants the money to put their contract on the line. D-Ray 3000 wanders on and says he wants money, so they say he's accepted, and he is confused. Match #4: Abyss vs. Sabu [Falls Count Anywhere] This was a lot of fun, but not very long. Awesome Sabu offense and bumps, and they go into the crowd. He dives off the bleachers to Abyss through a table. He then sets up another one and puts him on it. He climbs up to the area that used to be Raven's Nest, BUT RAVEN COMES FROM BEHIND AND TOSSES HIM OFF THROUGH THE TABLE! Abyss had moved, and he covers for the win. **1/2 In the back, AJ is getting his knee checked by doctors, and they say he can't wrestle tonight. Match #5: Chris Sabin/Jerry Lynn vs. Michael Shane/Kazarian w/ Tracy Good stuff. This tag team is the first time I've ever actually enjoyed either of them this much. They're not amazing or anything, but they're a solid heel team, and it confines their general averageness into one match while limiting the in-ring time of both. Sabin is great as usual. Lynn has a brief hot tag and rolls up Kazarian to win. **1/2 They attack the faces, but AJ comes out with a crutch to fight them off. He gets on the mic and says he's cleared for next week, and he challenges them both to use their title shots at once in an ULTIMATE X MATCH BAH GAWD! Shane immediately accepts for them, which makes sense, since he won the first UX match. Recap of all the Jeff Hardy stuff. Dusty Rhodes comes out, and he announces that the newest member of the TNA roster is Jeff Hardy! He has the contract with him, and introduces Jeff Hardy. He comes out and asks if he should sign, and the idiot fans cheer. Jeff signs it, and Dusty says that with that contract comes a shot at the NWA Title! Monty Brown comes out now and says he won a #1 Contender's Match a few weeks ago, and this freak isn't stepping in front of the Alpha Male. Jeff Jarrett comes out and repeats his lines about running off outsiders before, and he'll send Jeff Hardy packing too. He hits him, and they fight. Jeff hits Monty, but it allows Jeff to knock him out with the guitar shot. Goddamnit. A sit-down interview airs with Tenay and Kid Kash. He is mad about Russo being so far up AJ's ass. He says he has a problem with TNA treating a few guys, AJ Styles being the top one, like they're so much better than everyone else. He says AJ never paid his dues, but he's on the cover of all the DVDs, and it's bullshit. Tenay asks if he's learned anything from his suspension, and he says TNA is the people who are gonna learn something. NEXT WEEK: Jeff Hardy vs. Monty Brown in a #1 Contender's Match In the back, Hudson interviews AMW, and they say they know how to win steel cage matches. Triple X comes up and says they have no doubts that they'll win tonight, but just so they don't go misleading everyone, they want it on the record that last year, AMW beat them ONCE after losing 4 times, and after tonight, they'll make it 5-1. Match #6: The Naturals [c] vs. America's Most Wanted [NWA World Tag Team Championship - SIX SIDES OF STEEL] This is really good, and probably would have been great if not for the gigantic run of bullshit at the end. Big bumps happen, some cool spots, bleeding. Lacks a lot of violence like I'd prefer, but whatever, The Naturals aren't exactly XXX. Both Harris and Stevens got knocked to the floor, and yeah. Team Canada came out to attack Harris for whatever reason. Both 3LK and Triple X came out to fight them. The brawl took over the camera shot for like 2 minutes, and Chase got back in, and he hits Storm with a chair for the win. **3/4 |

Mah nigga Jerrelle is also awesome here, actually trying to work the knee, and taking cool bumps. AJ manages to hit a fucking Tiger Driver lift into the Styles Clash to win. ** THIS WEEK ON TNA: -AJ vs. Shane vs. Kazarian in ULTIMATE X for the X Title -Jeff Hardy vs. Monty Brown in a #1 Contender's Match -The Naturals/XXX for the tag titles -AMW vs. Team Canada -David Young vs. the ref -Alex Shelley/Abyss vs. Shark Boy/D-Ray 3000 for contracts Match #2: Abyss/Alex Shelley w/ Goldilocks vs. Abismo Negro/Mr. Aguila Awesome proto-Embassy squash again. Abyss hits the Black Hole Slam, and Shelley takes the pin for the win. Abyss is not happy with this. ** Match #3: Monty Brown vs. Antonio Banks FUCK YEAH ALPHA MALE VS. MVP! This is basically an episode of great squashes so far, and this delivers. MVP has awesome punches, and then takes a nice bump for the POOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE at the end. PERIOD. ** Hype video for Monty/Hardy. Match #4: Chris Sabin/Amazing Red/Sonjay Dutt/Mikey Batts vs. Petey Williams/Bobby Roode/Eric Young/Johnny Devine w/ Scott D'Amore This happens. Sabin and Red are fine, but this is mostly Devine and Petey working, so the control seg blew, and Dutt and Batts also sucked several dicks. Petey beats Batts with the Canadian Destroyer. *3/4 Match #5: Raven vs. Kid Romeo Raven beating the shit out of Kid Romeo is pretty awesome. Not very long, but still great. Evenflow ends it. *1/2 SABU RUNS OUT, AND HE ATTACKS RAVEN! YEAH! Security pulls them apart. Hype video for AJ/Kazarian/Shane. Match #6: Jeff Jarrett vs. Shark Boy Good match. Jarrett treats it like a job match, but Shark Boy actually gets in some offense before Jarrett ends up shutting him down. The Stroke ends it. **1/4 |

AMW is pissed early on, which is what they're best at being. D'Amore keeps intefering, now also using a leather strap. Roode has good work on Harris' arm. His selling is acceptable, and Storm has a great hot tag. Superkick does the job on Roode. **1/2 Team Canada attacks post-match, but Triple X runs out to make the save. In the back, Hudson interviews Jarrett, who says it doesn't matter who becomes #1 Contender, and he'll beat them both. He also continues his roll of being involved in horrible things by calling Jeff the "Charismatic Enigma" for the first time. He says he's heard about Russo forming this Championship Committee and he accuses Russo and Dusty of plotting against each other. Match #2: Abyss/Alex Shelley w/ Goldilocks vs. Shark Boy/D-Ray 3000 [Money vs. Contracts] Good Proto-Embassy squash again. Abyss and Shelley have a few issues, but Abyss beats D-Ray with the Black Hole Slam. ** Desire randomly comes out to attack Goldilocks, and Siaki comes out to help and fights Shelley. Well okay then. In the back, the NYC goes up to David Young, and Gilberti says they can help each other out and Young says he has no use for him if he leaves. Match #3: David Young vs. Mike Posey This is David Young vs. a ref, so it was awful. At least it was short, I guess. Gilberti comes out to help, but it distracts Young and the ref rolls him up. 1/4* Young attacks Gilberti post-match, but Johnny runs out and the NYC lays out Young. In the back, Desire and Sonny Siaki come in and they says they don't like what they did to the Watts family, and they want that money vs. contract challenge. Mike Tenay gets in the ring, and he brings out Raven. But first, he says Sabu has accepted Raven's challenge finally, and next week, he will fight Raven for one night only! Raven comes out in a Sheik outfit, but then throws it off. He says he's glad Sheik finally realized his uncle is dead, and he threatens to burn it. He goes under the ring, and looks for a garbage can, but Sonjay Dutt attacks him. Goddamnit. Raven beats him up though. He throws him in the trash can and threatens to light him on fire, ending about half of TNA's in-ring problems, but in the worst thing he's ever done, Sabu comes out to save. Match #4: The Naturals [c] vs. Triple X [NWA World Tag Team Championship] Daniels and Skipper were great here, and this was pretty good. The Naturals are fine enough, but they lack the chemistry with XXX that they had with AMW. Which is not shocking, since they worked with AMW like all the time out of TNA, and this is the first meeting of these two teams. Good control seg of basic heeling. Team Canada comes out to distract XXX, and the Naturals steal the win. **1/2 They attack them, and now AMW runs out to save. Skipper gets on the mic and they challenge AMW to a Best of Three Series to determine who the #1 Contenders are, and they accept. Hype for Brown/Hardy. Match #5: Jeff Hardy vs. Monty Brown [#1 Contender's Match] This is whatever. Jeff refuses to sell Monty's work, and is completely not giving a fuck here. Jarrett comes to help Monty, but he doesn't like it and throws him out. It ends up helping Jeff, as it allows him to get a flash cradle after no offense for the win. ** Jarrett attacks Hardy, along with Brown, and 3 Live Kru runs out to save. Dusty Rhodes comes out too, and signals for the belt and points to Jeff Hardy. Vince Russo comes out and says something to Dusty off-mic, and Dusty freaks out and is very mad with him. Hype video for Ultimate X. In the back, Dusty and Russo argue and Dusty says he went down to North Carolina to recruit Jeff and he gave him his word. Russo says he's upset too, and he's on his side, but Dusty storms off. Match #6: AJ Styles [c] vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Michael Shane w/ Tracy [NWA X Division Championship - ULTIMATE X] This is great! They do a good job playing up the basic handicap match idea, along with AJ having to adapt in a match he's never been in and that the opponents have experience with. AJ takes the most insane bumps in any UX match yet, because he's AJ Styles motherfucker. After getting hurt trying to get the belt early on, he spends much of the match trying to take out the other two instead of climbing a lot. Insane spot of the match goes to AJ and Kazarian. Kazarian climbs the wiring using his hands and legs, and AJ is behind him. He kicks him until he lets go with his hands and is hanging upside down and AJ HITS THE STYLES CLASH OFF THE WIRE BAH GAWD! AJ has it won a little later on, BUT OUT OF NOWHERE, KID KASH HITS HIM WITH THE CRUTCH! He beats the shit out of AJ, and both Shane and Kazarian go for the belt. They both pull it down, so the ref calls it. *** It is announced that they are BOTH the X Division Champions. |

The Stroke wins it. *1/2 THIS WEEK ON THE TNA: -Jarrett and Hardy meet face to face -AJ Styles vs. Kid Kash -Raven vs. Sabu -Shazarian vs. Lynn/Sabin -AMW vs. Team Canada in a COUNTRY WHIPPIN MATCH -Abyss vs. Siaki in the Contract vs. Money challenge -Pat Kenney vs. Vito Match #2: Kid Kash w/ Dallas vs. Mikey Batts Acceptable Kid Kash squash. Russo and Dusty are seen arguing again in the back. Kash wins with the Moneymaker. *3/4 Hype video for AJ/Kash. Match #3: Raven vs. Rod Steele The first great squash of the night. All of Raven's offense looked really painful and what not. Evenflow ends the match. ** Sabu comes out and they have a fight. Given how they've built up this fight as one time only, they really should have saved this for the PPV. Anyways, security breaks them up. Hpye video for Raven/Sabu. Match #4: Jeff Hardy vs. Kid Romero Once again, Jeff gets no offense and then wins with a flurry in the last 30 seconds, ending with the Swanton Bomb. Not the best way to build the guy up as a title challenger. 3/4* Match #5: Triple X vs. Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian w/ Tracy This is fun for the 5-6 minutes it got. Shazarian does acceptable basic heel stuff, and Daniels has a sweet hot tag. AJ Styles then runs out to attack Shane and Kazarian for the DQ. **3/4 Team Canada, Kid Kash, and AMW get involved. Big ass brawl. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 7/7/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian, Since 7/28/2004 NWA-TNA August 4th, 2004 Nashville, TN Earlier tonight, Hudson interviews Dusty as he arrives. He says he was a little out of line last week, and he apologized to Russo on the phone and he thinks they have it all sorted out. Hudson says the three man Championship Committee will get named tonight too, and Dusty is excited about it. Match #1: Raven vs. Sabu [No DQ] Raven finally his first theme back. More importantly, this is awesome as hell. Nice story early on where Sabu wants to kill Raven so badly that he loses focus, and it allows Raven to drop him out through a table to take over. Good use of a spike from both men, and to the surprise of nobody, Raven bleeds. Good Sabu comeback and a great finishing run. Lots of table use and chair use. Reminds me a lot of the Raven/Sandman NRBW match, where it's this total war of attrition by the end and they grow more and more exhausted. They do a lot of double downs and it turns into the idea of whoever can fire off something first when they both get up will win. They even have the same finish as Raven/Sandman NRBW, with the table collapsing under them, and Raven hitting the Evenflow through the half of the table for the win. ***1/4 In the parking lot earlier tonight, Goldilocks and Shelley arrive in a limo, driven by D-Ray 3000. Shark Boy has to get their bags out of the trunk, and when it's unlocked, Abyss gets out of the trunk and goes into the building. Match #2: Abyss vs. Sonny Siaki [Money vs. Contract] Goldilocks and Desire are there. This really isn't any good. Shelley comes out for a distraction, and Abyss hits the Black Hole Slam for the win. *1/2 In the back, Hudson interviews Shane and Kazarian. Shane says they heard Russo has some idea to determine one single X Division Champion, but they refuse to fight each other. Kazarian says they'll remain co-champions for life, because they run the X Division now. Match #3: Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian w/ Tracy vs. Chris Sabin/Jerry Lynn Pretty good stuff, but not quite great, just like the first time. Sabin is a good face in peril, and then Lynn has a decent hot tag. Good finishing run, and the co-champions win with the Superkick from Shane into a roll up from Kazarian. **1/2 A video airs on Monty Brown. Mike Tenay brings out Vince Russo for an interview. He deals with the X Title picture by saying next week, there will be a 20 man Gauntlet For The Gold with the X Title on the line. He says previously, in WCW and in WWF and in TNA, when things got tough, he always left, but he's not giving up now. He names the Championship Committee as Harley Race, Larry Zbyszko, and TERRY FUNK! Russo says the Committee will name the date of the Jarrett/Hardy title match. Dusty comes out and is mad and says he doesn't want Terry here after all their history, and he's the one who brought Jeff Hardy here. Russo says he didn't put him on the committee because he's too involved in the title picture, having recuited Hardy and having issues with Jarrett, in order to make fair decisions at this time. That's actually pretty fair. Jeff Jarrett comes out and congratulates Vince and not putting Dusty on the committee. Dusty attacks Jeff, and Jeff Hardy also comes out. Monty Brown runs out and hits Dusty with the POOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE! Ron Killings comes out and he fights Monty to the back. Jeff Hardy, having done nothing once again, is alone in the ring and he holds up the belt. Match #4: Irish Pat Kenney vs. Big Vito [Weapons Match] Once again, this blew. Kenney gets Vito with a green chain around his fist for the win. 3/4* Horrible Team Canada promo. Match #5: America's Most Wanted vs. Petey Williams/Bobby Roode w/ Scott D'Amore [Country Whipping Match] Tenay says the Best of Three Series will begin next week. This is pretty good, and their best match together. I wish TNA would just go out and do a double strap match instead of this horrible bastardization of it. Roode solves this problem by taking one of the straps off and then they use it like it should be used. Storm has a great hot tag, and he hits Petey with the Superkick for the win. **3/4 The rest of Team Canada comes out to attack them post-match, but Triple X runs out to save. Hype video for the main event. Match #6: AJ Styles vs. Kid Kash w/ Dallas [Winner is #20 in Gauntlet For The Gold] Kash has a back brace on, which is probably a sign that he should have taken more time off. He sure didn't wrestle like he was hurt though, and put on the best singles match I've ever seen him have. They had a lot of really cool spots, sure, but they also had a lot of great ways to get over Kash working smarter than AJ. He keeps manufacturing these situations for AJ to make mistakes where he can just step back and take advantage, often using Dallas too. AJ ends up getting the Rolling Lariat out of nowhere for the win though. ***1/4 Dallas attacks, and then they again have a post-match brawl with like 25 people. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 7/7/2004 NWA X-Division Champion: Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian, Since 7/28/2004 TNA Impact August 6th, 2004 Orlando, FL This is all squashes, so fuck it: AMW vs. MVP/Sal Rinauro: *1/2 Monty Brown vs. Bruce Steele: *3/4 AJ Styles vs. Jason Cross: ** Raven and Sabu brawl Jeff Hardy vs. Gabriel: 3/4* Match #5: Triple X/Chris Sabin/Sonjay Dutt vs. Kid Kash/Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian/Petey Williams w/ Dallas, Tracy, & Scott D'Amore Good spotfest, as long as Dutt wasn't in it. He was painfully sloppy early on. 4 minutes of it got stolen from commercial though. That's the problem with the 10:00 time limit deal. The show is obviously taped, but in order to maintain the illusion, they have to pretend the match is actually happening in the commercial break, so they actually cut out large chunks of it. On taped WWE shows, there's really only like 30-60 seconds cut out, and matches broken up by a commercial tend to flow a lot better as a result. Anyways, Raven comes out to pull Dutt off of a cover, and then Petey hits him with the Canadian Destroyer to win. **1/2 |
