NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/2/2004 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY
NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 7/7/2004
NWA X-Division Champion: Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian, Since 7/28/2004

NWA-TNA
August 11th, 2004
Nashville, TN

In the back, Scott D'Amore talks to Team Canada. He says he just talked to the Prime Minister, and it will be a huge night for them tonight. He says it's time for gold, and says Roode's job tonight is as the enforcer of Team Canada, and they all sing O Canada.

TONIGHT: The big Gauntlet for the Gold, AMW vs. XXX in match #1

Match #1: BG James/Konnan vs. Eric Young/Johnny Devine w/ Scott D'Amore [#1 Contender's Match]
This was absolutely terrible. Team Canada won with cheating, but Dusty came out to tell the ref and it got restarted. 3LK won.
1/2*

Russo comes out to talk to Dusty and he says that's his job and he was on his way out here, but Dusty refuses to talk to him.

Earlier tonight, Goldilocks was making Sonny Siaki massage her feet as she uses Shark Boy as a footstool. Abyss shows up late, and Goldilocks yells at him for being ugly and useless.

Match #2: Alex Shelley w/ Goldilocks vs. Ekmo [Contract vs. Money]
This is flawed logically, since Ekmo is not under contract in 2004, so he has nothing to really offer. That being said, it's Umaga vs. Alex Shelley. Mostly just Shelley bumping around, but it's good for what it is. The ref is distracted and Abyss comes out. He totally kills Umaga with chair shots, almost as bad as Gogz killed him in the fall of 2009, and Shelley wins.
**

Video recap of the Hardy/Monty/Dusty/Jarrett/Russo stuff.

BUT NEVERMIND THAT SHIT, SABU AND RAVEN BRAWL AGAIN! They get a chain out and they try to hang each other, but the referees ans security people break it up.

Mike Tenay gets in the ring after that and announces that Jeff Jarrett vs. Jeff Hardy will take place on September 8th. Monty Brown comes out and says he was robbed of his title shot by all this contract business, and he belongs in that match. He says if Russo doesn't do the right thing and give him the title shot in his Serengeti, he'll get the POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE. PERIOD. Ron Killings then comes out, and they have a nice brawl.

Match #3: David Young vs. Glenn Gilberti
Well, okay? This happened. David Young won when Swinger's interference backfired, and he used brass knucks.
3/4*

In the back, Shaneinterviews Russo and asks about he and Dusty. He says he made his reasons for not choosing Dusty last week very clear, and as long as he is DOA here, Dusty will have a place in TNA. Jeff Jarrett comes over and says he's been a horrible Director of Authority and nobody will stand by his side. BUT AJ STYLES COMES OVER AND STARES DOWN JARRETT! FUCK YEAH! TAKE THE TITLE BACK ALREADY! He says Russo's done the right thing for TNA, and Jeff shoves him. AND AJ AND JARRETT FIGHT AGAIN FINALLY! Shane continues to be the fucking worst as he roots on Jeff Jarrett. AJ beats Jarrett down to the ring, and MONTY BROWN RUNS OUT! AJ GETS THE POOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE AND TAKES AN INSANE INSIDE-OUT BUMP! Killings comes out to fight Monty again, and when Jarrett gets back up, Jeff Hardy calmly walks out, and Jarrett leaves. I want to see this title match less and less every week. It's basically the reverse of Raven/Jarrett.

Match #4: America's Most Wanted vs. Triple X [Best of Three Series - Match #1]
These teams have great chemistry, but it's not the same as a face/face rivalry. What put the feud over the top in 2003 was how they kept playing off all the possible cheap tricks from XXX and creating a bunch of believable false finishes, where as soon as AMW would block or counter what cost them the last match, they'd have a new trick to beat them again. They still had a nice power vs. speed/technique match. They did a good job getting over the idea that double teams are the key to victory as each time a switch in momentum came, it was because of that. Great finishing run. Daniels hurts his taped up shoulder on a double down, and Harris then Spears him for te win.
***

NEXT WEEK: RAVEN VS. SABU IN A HANGMAN'S HORROR MATCH! Leave it to TNA to have an awesome first match and then most likely ruin the second match with a horrible stipulation.

Match #5: Gauntlet for the Gold [NWA X Division Championship]
There's no reason to recap every entrant. There's like 22 entrants and only AJ, Kash, Shane, Kazarian, Petey, and maybe Sabin, have an actual chance at winning. No great wrestler is in long enough to carry this, so it's pretty mediocre for the most part. AJ and Kash end up taking each other out. Gets down to Sabin, Petey, Red, and Shazarian. Sabin is tossed out by the heels, and then Red is able to eliminate both Shane and Kazarian. Oh no. Oh no. D'Amore hits Red with the hockey stick, and Petey hits the Canadian Destroyer for the win, as the X Division drops back down to mediocrity after AJ spent the summer elevating it.

NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 7/7/2004
NWA X-Division Champion: Petey Williams, Since 8/11/2004

Horrible champions list.

TNA Impact
August 13th, 2004
Orlando, FL

Match #1: Jeff Jarrett vs. Psicosis

Psicosis is back in the mask. Decent Jarrett squash, and the Stroke ends it.
*3/4

THIS WEEK ON TNA:
-AJ vs. Kash in a Street Fight
-Monty Brown vs. Ron Killings
-Petey vs. Sabin for the X Title
-AMW vs. XXX in Match #2
-Naturals vs. 3LK for the tag titles
-Raven vs. Sabu in HANGMAN'S HORROR~

Match #2: Monty Brown vs. Jimmy Rave
Rave takes some insane bumps and is a great job guy. Monty is a great squash guy, so this worked well. POOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE ends it. PERIOD.
**

Hype video for Brown/Truth.

Match #3: The Naturals vs. Jerrelle Clark/Mikey Batts
Decent Naturals squash. Not great, since they don't have a lot of cool offense, so it gets a little samey. Clark's offense on the comeback was awesome though. BG James and Konnan come out to distract the Naturals, AND JERRELLE CLARK GETS A FUCKING ROLL UP FOR THE WIN! GOD DAMN RIGHT! MAH NIGGA JERRELLE!
**

Match #4: Petey Williams w/ Scott D'Amore vs. Amazing Red

Red tries to do what he can, both in bumping and offense, to make this not totally awful, but he just wasn't able to do it. Petey's offense all looked really flimsy or contrived, and thus was horrible. D'Amore interferes with the hockey stick, and Petey gets the Canadian Destroyer for the win.
*3/4

Vince Russo comes out and says from now on, D'Amore is banned from ringside when his boys are wrestling.

Hype video for AJ/Kash.

Match #5: Raven vs. Todd Sexton
Good squash, but far too short. Evenflow ends it.
*1/2

Hype video for Raven/Sabu.

Tenay and Don hype the PPV, but Dusty Rhodes comes out to the ring. He personally invited Scott D'Amore to come to ringside next week, and he'll be there next Wednesday, and he wants to fight Scott D'Amore!

Match #6: AJ Styles/Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss/Alex Shelley w/ Goldilocks
Shelley and Abyss keeps having dissension. AJ and Shelley do a good job of carrying this. AJ vs. Shelley was crazy good. Jeff was once again not giving a shit. AJ carries Abyss. Abyss accidentally hits Shelley, and AJ takes him out so Jeff can hit Shelley with the Swanton Bomb for the win.

NWA X-Division Champion: Petey Williams, Since 8/11/2004

Raven is in the ring to open the show, and the Hangman's Horror stuff is set up. He says he hears Sabu has a back injury and can't be here, but he knows he's faking it. He calls out anyone in the back to fight him in the match, since it's already set up, and horribly, Sonjay Dutt comes out.

Match #1: Raven vs. Sonjay Dutt [HANGMAN'S HORROR]
This was fine enough. Mostly Raven mauling Dutt, but not the brutal mauling he deserves. Dutt randomly throws a shitty looking fireball, and hangs him with one of the chains for a really disgusting upset.
*3/4

In the back, Hudson interviews Jarrett. He says Russo and Dusty both want the title off of him and on Jeff Hardy, but neither can co-exist long enough to do it, and nobody is taking his title. He says his match with Jeff Hardy in three weeks is the biggest match in TNA history (lol), and he will remain King of the Mountain.

Match #2: Petey Williams [c] w/ Scott D'Amore vs. Chris Sabin [NWA X Division Championship]
Sabin frustratingly is willing to play into Petey's horrible contrived bullshit tendencies, so this also kind of blew. D'Amore interferes, so Dusty Rhodes comes out. He attacks, but this distracts the ref and allows Roode to come out. He hits Sabin with the hockey stick, and Petey gets the Canadian Destroyer for the win.
*3/4

Recap of AMW/XXX from last week.

Match #3: America's Most Wanted vs. Triple X [Best of Three Series - Match #2]
AMW is up 1-0. This is the least of all their matches, since it has a ton of potential, but ends up just being solid. AMW initially works on Daniels' arm, but they spend most of their control seg doing stuff to Skipper instead. Skipper takes some awesome bumps, but AMW just aren't very good at controlling for a long period of time. Daniels gets in, but the finishing run is not nearly long enough before he gets a roll up to win, evening it up at 1-1.
**3/4

In the back, Hudson interviews Monty Brown, but Kid Kash and Dallas come up. Kash says he's not here to ruin his time, but he wants to smarten him up. He says as much as he deserves the #1 Contender's spot, he's not going to get it. He says Russo has his golden boys that he'll always protect. AJ Styles, AMW, Ron Killings, and now Jeff Hardy. He says there'll come a time when Monty needs backup, and they'll be there. They leave and Monty says he needs no help to rule his Serengeti, and Truth will feel the POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE. PERIOD.

Match #4: Monty Brown vs. Ron Killings
This ruled. Not quite great, but really good. Killings looks great here as sort of TNA's Tito Santana in the early 90s. He's not top guy, but everyone loves him and he's solid in the ring and is a good gatekeeper. In an ideal TNA, he's a solid #2 face behind AJ Styles. Maybe #3 if Raven is a face at the time. Kid Kash comes out to pull the ref out, but AJ chases him to the back. Monty then hits the POUUUUUUUUUUNCE to win.
**1/2

In the back, Russo and Dusty are arguing, and Hudson tries to talk to them. Russo says he wants to have this talk in private, but Dusty doesn't care. Russo says he keeps going outside the rules, and when he does that, he's no better than Jarrett or D'Amore or anybody. Russo says Dusty is making his job real hard, and Dusty dares him to do something then, so Russo leaves. Dusty's kind of a dick here.

Match #5: The Naturals [c] vs. BG James/Konnan [NWA World Tag Team Championship]
This was not totally horrible. Not much good though. Team Canada comes out to interfere and they hit James with the hockey stick behind the ref's back, but Dusty Rhodes comes out and goes after D'Amore again. He gets one of the hockey sticks and hits Douglas with it, so the Naturals retain by DQ. Nice work, Dusty.
*1/2

In the back, Desire challenges Goldilocks to put Siaki's contract up against a mystery wrestler she'll bring in. Goldilocks comes up and accepts, if Desire puts up her contract as well, and she accepts.

Match #6: AJ Styles vs. Kid Kash [Street Fight]
Awesome awesome match. Best Kid Kash performance I've ever seen, and I would argue that he looked like an actual great wrestler here. Taking huge bumps, throwing big strikes, fighting fans, etc. They had a lot of awesome hate filled slugfests, but when they went in to the crowd, it took like 15 security guys to keep people from attacking Kid Kash. They took a crazy double bump off the balcony through a table. Big finishing run in the ring, and Dallas comes out to attack AJ too. AJ reverses a pin from Kash into his own for the win.
***1/2

They keep attacking AJ, and then as is now customary, Killings and Monty got involved too. Jeff Hardy came out and then cleared out all three heels with his shitty offense. God fucking damnit.

Match #1: Jeff Jarrett vs. Irish Pat Kenney

Acceptable Jarrett showcase. He's not so great with the squashes.
*1/2

Jarrett breaks the guitar on him post-match.

THIS WEEK ON TNA:
-AJ/Jeff/Truth vs. Monty/Kash/Dallas
-3LK/Dusty vs. Team Canada
-AMW vs. XXX in Match #3
-Other uninteresting stuff

Match #2: Kid Kash/Dallas vs. Jerrelle Clark/Mikey Batts
This was a fine squash. Lots of huge bumps by the jobbers. Kash beats that faggot Mikey Batts with the Moneymaker.
**

Match #3: Petey Williams vs. Fast Eddie

This is probably the worst squash TNA has ever put together, thus far. My god, this blew.
1/4*

Scott D'Amore comes out to celebrate with Petey, so Dusty comes out. Roode attacks Dusty from behind, but then 3LK makes the save.

In the back, Shane interviews Russo. He says he needs to think about what to do about Dusty, but he'll do something Wednesday night.

Match #3: America's Most Wanted vs. Abyss/Alex Shelley w/ Goldilocks
This was pretty good for the 3:30 it got. I feel like they could have a great PPV match, but we will never know. Abyss accidentally hits Shelley and then Storm hits Shelley with the Spear for the win.
**1/4

Shelley and Goldilocks yell at Abyss and shove him, so Abyss starts choking Shelley and has to be pulled off.

Hype video for AMW/XXX.

Hype video for Monty Brown.

Match #4: Monty Brown vs. Dimitris
Awful jobber name, but Monty squashes him just the same.
*3/4

Hype video for the six man.

SIX POINTS OF IMPACT: LARRY! He says the championship committee will be there on September 8th, and if Russo and Dusty can't come to an agreement, they'll make one for them. How does the Committee have power over Russo if he created the Committee?

Hype video for Jarrett/Hardy.

Match #5: AJ Styles/Jeff Hardy/Ron Killings vs. Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian/Jason Cross w/ Tracy
Fuck you, Jason Cross. This was a solid showcase for the faces. Jeff was hardly in, so it was pretty good stuff. He then got in to beat Cross with the Swanton Bomb. TNA refusing to let Jeff wrestle for more than 30 seconds is amazing.

Kazarian and Shane urge us not to steal PPV. Tracy then says she would never date a cable thief. They really want you to not pay for this show.

In the back, Scott D'Amore yells at Larry to suspend Dusty Rhodes, but he says that only Vince has power to do that.

Match #1: Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian vs. Psicosis/La Parka
Decent showcase for Shazarian. Shane wins with the Superkick.
**

Team Canada immediately comes out, and D'Amore demands Russo comes out to the ring to give a decision on Dusty Rhodes. He comes out and says he wants to do this in the back and they don't need to do it in public. Then why say you'll make a decision on Wednesday on PPV? Roode doesn't let him leave, and they threaten him, but Dusty and 3LK come out to save. They fight again, and Russo says he hates to do it, but after Dusty tried to put himself in a match tonight, he has to suspend him. That's not totally illogical. He says it will now be a handicap match instead, and security escorts Dusty out.

It is time for the Contract vs. Contract match, and Desire's mystery person is LA PARKA! He looks pretty tall and...oh, son of a bitch. Theft again.

Match #2: La Parka w/ Desire vs. Alex Shelley w/ Goldilocks [Contract vs. Contract]
La Parka wins in about a minute with the Chokeslam.
Shark pussy

And he unmasks himself as Erik Watts. Son of a fucking whore. He says his contract, that Goldilocks has, expired on August 20th, and he signed a new one! He says he and Siaki challenge Abyss and Shelley next week for all of Goldilocks' contracts. Abyss tries to Chokeslam Shelley, but Goldilocks stops him.

In the back, Hudson interviews Larry about what happened, and he says Russo is right. He says he's just here to observe.

Match #3: Chris Sabin vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Joey Matthews vs. Jason Cross [#1 Contender's Match]
Sabin and Joey do a pretty great job making this not horrible, but Cross and Dutt really even it out. Dutt beats Cross with the Hindu Press to win. Horrible. Fucking horrible. Dutt vs. Petey is going to be so god damned bad.
*3/4

In the back, The Naturals claim not to care who wins the Best of Three.

Hype video for AMW/XXX.

Match #4: America's Most Wanted vs. Triple X [Best of Three Series - Match #3]
THIS was fucking great. Total brawl early on, with lots of cool spots. XXX finally had a nice heelish control segment with lots of aggressive spots and cheating. Harris has a real good hot tag, and the finishing run is good. He has Daniels up for the Catatonic, but the Naturals come out. They throw powder in Harris' eyes, but then they hit Daniels with chair shots and they leave. The ref calls it a no contest.
***

Larry comes out and books Daniels vs. Harris in a sudden death match on Impact.

Hype video for Team Canada vs. 3LK.

Match #5: BG James/Konnan vs. Eric Young/Johnny Devine/Scott D'Amore
I'm glad Petey isn't in this, but why not Roode? This blew. Like, really really fucking sucked. It breaks down, and Dusty comes down from the crowd and hits Devine with the hockey stick and BG pins him to win.
3/4*

Dusty celebrates with them, and Russo comes out and reverses the decision and suspends Dusty for two months, and says he came back to enforce rules, and Dusty isn't making it easy for him.

In the back, Jarrett goes up to Monty, Kash, and Dallas, and he tells Monty that if he wants the title match so bad, then if he can take Jeff Hardy out tonight, then he'll get the title shot in his place in two weeks.

Match #6: AJ Styles/Jeff Hardy/Ron Killings vs. Monty Brown/Kid Kash/Dallas
Jeff has jerked off his first ghoul in TNA, since he's covered in orange goo. He also wrestled more than 30 seconds here, and once again clearly didn't give a fuck. Sloppy, shamefully weak strikes, etc. Good control seg on Killings. AJ finally got in with an awesome hot tag, but got isolated too. Jeff got a horrible hot tag. He beats Dallas with the Swanton.
**1/2

Jarrett comes out to attack Hardy, and Brown hits the POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUNCE on Hardy. Jarrett then puts on the Figure Four to end the show.

Match #1: Christopher Daniels vs. Chris Harris [Best of Three Series - Sudden Death Round]

This was good. Not great, but it only got 6 minutes or so due to butchering of the match by a commercial break. Nice back and forth, and then the 10:00 time limit expired.
**1/2

Larry comes out as the judge, and he says on Wednesday, it will be The Naturals vs. AMW vs. XXX for the belts in a three way!

Dusty Rhodes comes out and takes a seat in the crowd.

THIS WEEK ON TNA:
-AJ/Killings vs. Kash/Dallas in a Street Fight
-3LK/? vs. Team Canada
-Petey vs. Dutt for the X Title
-Shazarian vs. Sabin/Red

Match #2: Chris Sabin/Amazing Red/Sonjay Dutt vs. Fast Eddie/John McChesney/Cassidy O'Reilly
Good showcase for the X Division trio. Sabin was awesome, Red was good, and then Dutt was horrible again. Dutt wins with the Hindu Press.
**

Scott D'Amore comes out with Team Canada for their match, and he antagonizes Dusty. He grabs D'Amore and starts hitting him, so security has to take Dusty out of the building.

Match #3: Team Canada w/ Scott D'Amore vs. Jereelle Clark/Mikey Batts/Rod Steele/Bruce Steele
Acceptable showcase. Petey and Devine are on the same level of bad as Dutt, but nobody on Team Canada is as good as Chris Sabin on offense. Jerrelle delivers again. Petey wins with the Canadian Destroyer.
*3/4

In the parking lot, Russo is with security and Dusty. He yells that he's trying to work with him, but Dusty keeps pushing him and he says nobody is above the law, but Dusty yells that he's going to get him.

Match #4: Jeff Jarrett vs. Frankie Capone
Another average Jarrett squash.
*1/4

Hype for Jeff/Jeff.

Match #5: Jeff Hardy vs. Frankie Kazarian w/ Michael Shane & Tracy
This is about 2 minutes, and was pretty horrible. Lots of awful Jeff moments again, and he wins with the Swanton Bomb.

Jeff Jarrett is in the ring to open the show and he hypes up the DATE WITH FATE~ next week, and says Jeff Hardy has no counter for the Figure Four, and he's going to make him tap out. He's also the first one to mention that next week is the last weekly PPV, and says he's putting TNA on victory road. LOL.

In the back, Hudson interviews Kash and Dallas. Kash says he hates Jeff Jarrett, but he's right. Jeff Hardy doesn't even belong in TNA, but Russo loves him, so he's here and he gets a title shot and all the promotion of TNA without working for it, just like AJ Styles, and he can't wait to put an end to AJ Styles tonight for good.

Match #1: The Naturals [c] vs. America's Most Wanted vs. Triple X [NWA World Tag Team Championship]
James Storm is in a back brace and is clearly messed up. I don't hate the Naturals like a lot of people, but they really just got in the way of what AMW and XXX were doing, as this is basically a device to continue that feud. Good finishing run and Daniels hits Storm with the Angel's Wings. The Naturals throw him out, and one of them gets the cover to win.
**3/4

In the back, Hudson interviews Dusty. He says maybe he went too far with the long suspension for Dusty, and he's ending the suspension after tonight, so that he can be in the building next week for the Jeff/Jeff title match.

Match #2: Chris Sabin/Amazing Red vs. Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian w/ Tracy
Good stuff, probably the best Shazarian tag match yet. Sabin is awesome as usual. Red makes a good face in peril, and Sabin then has a big awesome hot tag. His no hands dive is also fantastic. Red gets back in, but Tracy causes a distraction with her mannish jaw and Shane hits Red with the Superkick for the win.
**3/4

In the back, Hudson interviews Team Canada. D'Amore says it doesn't matter who the partner is, because Canada will beat the USA, just like they did at hockey this week, and as soon as Dusty is back, they'll get rid of him for good. Hudson then says Petey will prove himself to be the greatest X Division wrestler of all time.

Match #3: Petey Williams [c] w/ Scott D'Amore vs. Sonjay Dutt [NWA X Division Championship]
This sucked, and ended the streak of good matches. Lots of contrived and sloppy shit. Petey avoids the Hindu Press, and hits the Canadian Destroyer for the win.
*1/2

Hype video for 3LK/Team Canada.

3LK comes out for the match and they introduce their mystery partner....THE MIDNIGHT RIDER! FUCK YEAH! Russo is watching in the back, and just facepalms.

Match #4: The Midnight Rider/BG James/Konnan vs. Bobby Roode/Eric Young/Johnny Devine w/ Scott D'Amore
This was at least not a total waste of time like last week. Eric Young bumps a round a lot, and Rider gets him with the elbow drop for the win.
*1/2

Russo comes out to talk to the Rider, but he leaves through the crowd.

Recap of the Goldilocks stuff.

Match #5: Abyss/Alex Shelley w/ Goldilocks vs. Erik Watts/Sonny Siaki w/ Desire [EMANCIPATION MATCH]
Well, this blew. Shelley tried, but he is only one man, and was hardly on offense at all, so this was almost entirely awful. As Goldilocks and Desire fought, Erik Watts' wife got over the railing and she got Shelley with a low blow. Siaki then got a roll up for the win.
3/4*

Goldilocks yells at Abyss on the floor.

Hype video for Jeff/Jeff.

Dusty is in the front row again, and Vince Russo comes out to talk to him. He says he's grandstanding once again, and asks what exactly it is that he wants. Dusty says he wants D'Amore in the ring, so Vince says he can have it next week, under a few stipulations. Everyone is barred from ringside, and he, Vince Russo, will be the referee. Dusty is cool with it, and Vince says if for some reason, he loses, he wants Dusty to leave him alone and let him do his job instead of stepping on his authority and turning everyone against him, and Dusty accepts.

Match #6: AJ Styles/Ron Killings vs. Kid Kash/Dallas [Street Fight]
Another awesome AJ/Kash match. This has really come out of nowhere to be the TNA feud of the year. It helps that there hasn't been much else of quality. Which brings up a solid point, what happened to Raven/Sabu? AJ is wearing purple camo like Truth, but he looks totally ridiculous. Like a member of the GAY COMMUNITY. Killings is at home in the AJ/Kash crowd brawl seg, and Hoyt is carried well. They do the ROH brawl staple of taking out one guy in the crowd for a control seg. Lots of nasty AJ bumps. Kid Kash tries to fight fans when he's in control, leading to an awesome Truth comeback. Hoyt didn't get horrible until the end, and Truth beats him with a Flying Scissors Kick.
***

Team Canada comes out to attack them, and they focus on AJ for whatever reason. Kash helps them, and they put AJ on a table. He comes off with a Frog Splash to AJ through the table! Jeff Hardy comes out with a chair to save, and somehow, that all scares them. Jeff Jarrett comes out to attack him. He tries the Figure Four, but Jeff counters into this laughable hold where it's like a Boston Crab, but he hooks both Jeff's legs under one arm. He keeps it on and Jarrett taps out to end the show.

Jeff Jarrett comes out to the ring, and he delivers basically the same speech as on Wednesday, and then in a magnificent botch, says "Keep your enemies close, and your friends closer."

They're going around asking roster members who will win the Jeff/Jeff match. I like this gimmick. Kash and Dallas are interviewed and Kash says he says if you're not cheating, you're not trying hard enough, so he picks Jarrett.

Match #1: 3 Live Kru vs. Abyss/Alex Shelley/Nosawa w/ Goldilocks
Good thing Nosawa is there to eat the pinfall. Right? Killings/Shelley is the only great pairing here, but damn, it's fucking great. Killings beats Nosawa for the pin HOLY SHIT! TNA actually protects a talented young heel. I'm actually shocked.
*3/4

Goldilocks blames Abyss post-match.

THIS WEEK ON TNA:
-Jarrett vs. Hardy for the NWA Title
-AJ vs. Kash in a Best of Three Falls Tables Match TO END THE FEUD~ (GOD FUCKING DAMNIT TNA)
-The Naturals vs. AMW for the Tag Titles
-The winners of that vs. Triple X later on in the night for the tag titles
-Dusty vs. D'Amore
-Abyss/Shelley/Goldilocks vs. Watts/Siaki/Desire
-Tag team Gauntlet for the Gold for a title shot!

Match #2: Kid Kash w/ Dallas vs. Kid Romeo
Good Kash squash. He's finally struck a great balance between cool offense, painful looking strikes, and old fashioned heeling. He wins with the Moneymaker.
**

Dallas sets up a table in the ring, and he spraypaints "AJ" on it. Kash puts Romeo on it, and he hits the Frog Splash off the top through the table for the win.

Hype video for AJ/Kash.

Match #3: The Naturals vs. Shark Boy/D-Ray 3000
Fun match. The comedy team have fun spots based around D-Ray's afro being unstoppable. Sharkie then gets hit with the Natural Disaster for the win.
**

Shazarian picks Jarrett.

AJ picks Hardy.

Hype video for Dusty/D'Amore.

Raven says Jarrett better win, because he wants to beat him for the belt.

An ad airs for That 70's Shows' season premiere. Fuck yeah.

Match #4: Monty Brown vs. Adam Flash
Monty Brown squashing CZW dudes. Awesome. Total destruction and the POOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUNCE ends it.
**

Shelley picks Jarrett.

Sabin picks Hardy.

Match #5: AJ Styles/Jeff Hardy vs. Hernandez/Onyx
Total showcase for AJ and Jeff against THE ELITE GUARD. Poor AJ has to make them seem not awful before Jeff gets his horrible hot tag. Jeff wins with the Swanton Bomb.
*3/4

Hype video for Jeff/Jeff.

NWA X-Division Champion: Petey Williams, Since 8/11/2004

Match #1: Tag Team Gauntlet For the Gold

Participants are: Shazarian, Sabin/Red, MAH NIGGA JERRELLE/Batts, Petey/Devine, Sharkie/D-Ray, and Dutt/Delirious. This wasn't much, but it was hardly bad or anything. It came down to Kazarian, Batts, and Sabin in there, but in an upset, Sabin got tossed by Kazarian! It then turned into Shazarian vs. Clark/Batts, which was good. Mostly a solid control seg from the heels, but then Jerrelle has a great hot tag. Batts gets a blind tag before Shane gets Clark with the Superkick, AND BATTS ROLLS UP MICHAEL SHANE! FUCK YEAH!
**1/4

In the back, Hudson is with XXX. He says James Storm wasn't cleared tonight because of his back, so they'll get the title shot, BUT THE NATURALS SURPRISE THEM WITH CHAIR SHOTS! They lay them out too, and they say they won't get the title shot either.

Match #2: Abyss/Alex Shelley/Goldilocks vs. Erik Watts/Sonny Siaki/Desire
This was atrocious. Shelley again is lost in a sea of awful, and when he slaps Abyss, Abyss finally lays him out with the Black Hole Slam. He hits Goldilocks with the Shock Treatment and walks off, so Siaki pins Shelley to win.
1/2*

In the back, medics are checking on Triple X. Skipper says he can still wrestle, but Daniels' shoulder is hurt again.

Match #3: AJ Styles vs. Kid Kash [Best of Three Falls Tables Match]
Leave it to fucking TNA to have the finale of this feud be in one of the worst gimmicks possible. That being said, this was the best tables match I've seen since Hardys/Dudleys. They actually built to table bumps and had cool spots otherwise. Still the worst match of their three, but whatever. Kash hip tossed AJ through one in the corner, and then AJ got Kash on the top with the Pele causing him to go through one on the floor to make it 1-1. They fought on the top, and AJ got the Styles Clash off the top through a table to win.
***

Petey Williams runs out and attacks AJ, and he hits the Canadian Destroyer! Kash also joins in, and then 3LK comes out to run them off.

Hype video for Dusty/D'Amore.

Match #4: Dusty Rhodes vs. Scott D'Amore [Special Referee: Vince Russo]
This blew. I love Dusty and all, but it's 2004 and he's fighting a manager. Russo shows himself to be a fair referee. Dusty gets mad at Russo trying to enforce rules, and he elbows him in the face. Dusty then gets the elbow drop on D'Amore and Russo counts to three.
*

Dusty offers a handshake to Russo, but Team Canada attacks him. 3LK saves again.

In the back, Hudson interviews The Naturals. They say there's no tag teams left for them, and they walk to the ring.

They come out, and Larry says they might have no unified team, but he promised a tag title match, so he'll deliver one, and it's going to be them vs. Elix Skipper and Chris Harris!

Match #5: The Naturals [c] vs. Chris Harris/Elix Skipper [NWA World Tag Team Championship]
Good work by everyone involved, but not quite great. The faces controlled until they miscommunicated. Solid Naturals control seg. Naturals cheat in the end, but when Douglas tries to use the chair behind the ref's back, SKIPPER HITS HIM WITH A CHAIR OF HIS OWN! HARRIS ROLLS UP STEVENS FOR THE WIN! WAIT, WHAT?!
**3/4

Harris and Skipper are now tag champions, which is really weird.

Hype video for Jeff/Jeff.

Match #6: Jeff Jarrett [c] vs. Jeff Hardy [NWA World Heavyweight Championship]
Nice of Jeff to finally defend the belt again after two and a half months. Typical Jarrett brawl to begin, but Jeff fits horribly with that style. Jarrett tries though, as much shit as I've given him in 2004 for this horrible title run. Dusty and Russo both come out to watch. Dusty and Jarrett fight, but Russo makes Dusty leave. Russo stops Jeff Jarrett from using a bat, but then he also stops Jeff Hardy from using it. They fight some more, and Jarrett dodges the Swanton and uses the guitar to retain.
**

This is the final show at the Asylum unfortunately. Not a great looking building, but had a nice old school feel to it. Plus, they actually made money when people came to the shows, unlike Orlando.

Match #1: AJ Styles/Jeff Hardy vs. The Naturals

Good match for 3 minutes. Naturals are, pardon the pun, naturals for the role of solid but unspectacular heels to put over flashier teams. Jeff again brings nothing to the table, but AJ carries it. AJ hits a Brainbuster, and Jeff follows with the Swanton Bomb for the win.
**

In the back, Shane interviews Dusty. He says Jarrett is still champion because of a little miscommunication and confusion, and he says Jeff Hardy deserves a rematch.

Match #2: Monty Brown vs. Vordell Walker
YEAH FUCK YOU VORDELL. Awesome Monty squash. POOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE ends it.
*3/4

Match #3: Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian w/ Tracy vs. Jerrelle Clark/Mikey Batts

Good Shazarian showcase. Clark is also awesome here. Shane and Kazarian do a Superkick/Legsweep combo for the win, and Tenay calls it Modern Art. What a stupid name.
**

In the back, Hudson interviews Russo. He admits that miscommunication between he and Dusty allowed Jarrett to steal the win against Hardy. He says they're both trying to do good things, but they have two different styles of doing it. He says the next man to challenge Jeff Hardy will be the best man for the job, and that's all he'll say, and if that happens to be Jeff Hardy, then he gets the shot.

VICTORY ROAD: NOVEMBER 7TH!

Match #4: Chris Harris/Elix Skipper vs. Bobby Roode/Johnny Devine w/ Scott D'Amore
This is acceptable. It was far from bad, I guess. Just not very exciting. D'Amore hits Harris with a hockey stick, and Roode hits the Northern Lariat to win.
**

They keep on the attack, but Christopher Daniels and James Storm come out to save. 3LK and Naturals come out for their customary show ending brawl.

This is mostly a clip show due to the hurricane, but they did show one awesome new match that was originally just taped for Xplosion.

Match #1: AJ Styles vs. Alex Shelley w/ Goldilocks
Really everything you'd want from these two in a 7 minute TV match. Great matwork to start, and then a great Shelley control seg after Goldy got involved. He has some really unique holds too, and then bumps huge for AJ's comeback. Big series of cool reversals and nearfalls, and AJ hits the Styles Clash for the win. Best Impact match yet.

Larry comes out to open the show, and both AMW and XXX are following him and trying to talk. He says Russo is having meetings about the #1 Contender's situation for Victory Road. He says unfortunately, Dusty is here, but the Committee won't let him hijack the show. Harris says they want a match between the two teams to determine who gets to keep the belts. Larry says he's not throwing tradition away because they want something, so he books Harris/Skipper vs. Storm/Daniels for the belts tonight!

Match #1: Petey Williams w/ Scott D'Amore vs. Jerrelle Clark
Good Clark carryjob. He takes huge bumps and makes Petey look great on offense. Clark has an awesome fucking comeback, and all of Team Canada comes out to interfere. He gets rid of them, but then misses the 630, and Petey hits the Canadian Destroyer for the win.
**1/2

A highlight video airs of AJ Styles.

Match #2: Ron Killings/Konnan vs. Mike Hannigan/Marcus Dillon
Konnan was again unimpressive, but Killings was awesome. He beats one of them with the Scissors Kick.
*1/2

Jeff Hardy highlight video.

Jeff Jarrett comes out to the ring, and he brags about still being King of the Mountain, and he says he wants to know right now who his next challenger is at Victory Road, so he can start preparing. Monty Brown comes out and says he doesn't know who the DOA is saying it is, if it's Jaff Hardy or Raven or whoever, but everybody here knows that that title shot belongs to the Alpha Male because he is right in the middle of his SERENGETI. He says on November 7th, he will feel the POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE, and Jeff cheap shots him. They have a pullapart.

Coming back, Dusty is at ringside and forcing the crowd to chant "HARDY!" and Larry comes out and says he's not hijacking the show again. Dusty says he won't let the committee screw this one up too, and says Jeff Hardy is going to get his return match, and Larry says that's not his decision. Dusty is pretty much a dick in TNA. He's making me side with Vince Russo. Larry says he'll bring another member of the committee to talk sense into him, but Dusty says nobody can tell him what to do and that he's Dusty Rhodes and he's more powerful than all of them. This feels like Dusty is having a meltdown or like Dusty in the place of Denzel in the last scene in Training Day where everyone walks away from him. Dusty and Russo in Training Day sounds awesome, actually

Match #3: Abyss vs. Frankie Capone
Decent Abyss squash.
*1/2

Match #4: Chris Harris/Elix Skipper [c] vs. James Storm/Christopher Daniels [NWA World Tag Team Championship]

Very good, and actually really creative. The usual partners avoid facing each other for as long as possible. Harris won't let Elix use a chair, so the champions start to fight. Daniels gets the chair away from Storm, but Elix sees him with it. They argue, but Storm then Superkicks Elix and gets the win, so we have new champions.

Match #1: Jeff Jarrett vs. Brian Gamble

Usual Jeff squash. Stroke does the trick.
*1/2

Jeff gets on the mic and he wants to know who the #1 Contender is. Russo comes out and makes a tournament with Jeff Hardy, Raven, Abyss, and Monty Brown. AJ then comes out and says he wants an X Title shot, so Russo puts him in a six way #1 Contender's Match. Team Canada of Roode, Young, and D'Amore comes out and they want a tag title shot, but 3LK comes out and attacks them. Brawl.

Hype video for Raven.

The tournament is announced as Raven/Brown and Jeff/Abyss.

Match #2: Raven vs. Scotty Hotshot
Decent squash for Raven again. He wins with the Evenflow.
*3/4

Match #3: Abyss vs. Luther Jackson

Same deal as the first two matches. Good squash, not great.
*1/2

Jeff Hardy hype video.

Match #4: James Storm/Christopher Daniels vs. The Naturals
Daniels and Storm actually make a great team this week. Lots of chemistry. The Naturals do their job well enough. Daniels and Storm miscommunicate, and one of the Naturals gets a schoolboy with the tights for the win.
**1/4

Skipper and Harris come out to argue with the champions.

In the back, Shane talks to Dusty. He blames Russo for Jeff not being champion again, and yells at the door of the Committee, and he says he doesn't need approval to take care of business like it needs to be taken care of. It's like watching your cool grandpa get Alzheimer's.

Match #5: AJ Styles vs. Chris Sabin vs. Alex Shelley vs. Amazing Red vs. Kid Kash vs. Frankie Kazarian [#1 Contender's Match]
This is about 8-9 minutes butchered to 6 by a commercial, but it's still an amazing spotfest. Styles, Sabin, and Shelley all deliver big. Lots of unique combos and Kash and Shelley do well as sneaky pricks trying to take advantage. Dives happen, and AJ gets Shelley with the Styles Clash for the obvious win.

Match #1: Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss [Semi-Finals]

Without gimmicks, this was a pretty shitty match. Abyss bumps way too much for Hardy's terrible looking offense, and then Jeff wins with a shoddy rollup out of a Chokeslam.
*1/2

In the back, Shane is with Team Canada. D'Amore says they deserve a tag title shot more than anyone, and Larry comes over and says they have to earn it like everyone else.

Christopher Daniels and James Storm come out for a tag match, but all of Team Canada comes out to attack them from behind! Skipper and Harris run out to save, along with 3LK, and Team Canada bails out.

A video airs announcing an X Division Gauntlet For The Gold for Victory Road.

Match #2: AJ Styles vs. Roderick Strong
Real good AJ showcase, and Strong does well as a jobber. Lots of cool backbreakers, and then he bumps well. AJ gets the Styles Clash for the win.
**

Hype video for AJ/Petey.

RODDY PIPER RETURNS TO TNA! VICTORY ROAD!

In the back, AMW and Triple X talk and they agree to unite to take out Team Canada.

In the back, Shane talks to Jeff Jarrett. He says if the deck's stacked against him like he thinks it's going to be at Victory Road, he might have to bring in some outside help, and says this is HIS world, Planet Jarrett.

Match #3: Monty Brown vs. Raven [Semi-Finals]
Better than Jeff/Abyss, at least. It's hardly amazing or anything, but it's good decent wrestling for some 7 minutes. Monty ducks a chair shot, and he hits the POOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE for the win.

Match #1: Jeff Hardy vs. Monty Brown [#1 Contender's Match]

15:00 time limit here. Slightly better than their first match, since Jeff has less ring rust here. He's still not trying that hard, so it's not great. I would call it slightly below average though. Abyss comes out to attack Jeff, but then Raven comes out to hit Monty with a chair and the Evenflow. Jeff is up first and hits the Swanton to win.
**1/4

In the back, Hudson is with Dusty and Russo. Dusty challenges Russo to put the D.O.A. position up to a popular vote, and Russo just shakes his head and says fine, and says he'll start packing his things now. This is a shame, Russo's been a great authority figure in 2004.

Match #2: Petey Williams w/ Scott D'Amore vs. Jason Caparo
Horrible Petey squash, since his jobber sucks and Petey is Petey. He uses the Styles Clash for the win.
*

Hype video for The NYC. Yes, really.

Match #3: 3 Live Kru vs. Erick Stevens/Nate Webb/John Caterro
HOLY 2/3RDS OF A JOBBER DREAM TEAM! Webb impresses, but this was like 30 seconds.
1/2*

BG gets on the mic and challenges whoever leaves tonight as Tag Champions to a match at BFG.

In the back, Shane asks Jeff Jarrett what he meant by "outsiders", and if that means what he thinks. Jeff says that's exactly what he thinks, and says he has Scott Hall's word that he'll be in his corner at Victory Road, and he'll get Kevin Nash's word too. Something horrible is starting.

Raven has a squash set up, but he ambushes the jobber on the ramp and takes him out. He gets in the ring with the mic, and says it doesn't matter that Jeff Hardy beat Monty Brown tonight, and it doesn't matter who walks out of Victory Road with the title, BECAUSE AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF, HIS DESTINY IS STILL ON THE TABLE, AND HE MEANS IT WHEN HE SAYS RAVEN WILL BE THE NWA CHAMPION SOON ENOUGH! FUCK YEAH! Monty Brown comes out to attack him in revenge. Abyss joins in, and they get pulled apart.

Match #4: James Storm/Christopher Daniels [c] vs. Bobby Roode/Eric Young w/ Scott D'Amore [NWA World Tag Team Championship]
Average match. It's amusing how Storm and Roode have no chemistry. D'Amore is ejected for interference by Larry, who then stays on commentary. Larry shits on Dusty, and calls him a scumbag for the way he's wormed his way in and will probably take Russo's job now. Good transition with EY faking an ankle injury so Roode can cheap shot Daniels. EY shoves Daniels into Storm, and then rolls up Daniels to win the belts!
**1/4

In the back, Jeff Hardy challenges Jarrett to make their match at Victory Road into a Ladder Match. NO!

Many babyfaces are around the ring and Dusty Rhodes comes out. He campaigns for the vote for DOA, and calls out AJ, Jeff, and 3LK. They come out, but so does Russo. He says he sees the writing on the wall, but he wants to warn anyone who isn't swayed by this. He says Dusty isn't going to stick up for the old talent, he's only defended 3LK and Jeff Hardy, not any young guys in the back who bust their ass. He says he's been run out of the business once again for trying to do the right thing for young talent. He promises that things will be worse under Dusty Rhodes than they were under him, because Dusty is a crazy old man who only cares about himself. FUCK YEAH RUSSO! I cannot believe this is happening, that I'm sympathizing with him over Dusty fucking Rhodes. Dusty punches him and throws him out of the ring. :(

A video airs to hype Raven/Monty/Abyss at VR in a MONSTER'S BALLMATCH.

In the parking lot, Jeff Jarrett arrives and has his driver bring a ladder into the building.

Match #1: Monty Brown vs. Erick Stevens/Mark Stevens
Good handicap squash for Monty. He wins in under a minute.
*1/4

Monty gets on the mic and says if Raven wants to play games, he should go to Toys R' Us and buy a ball, and he shouldn't do it in his SERENGETI. A video airs of Abyss killing people with a mystery man's voice saying Abyss has found a voice to articulate his hatred and seething rage, and he would turn them both into Victory Roadkill. It's pretty obvious who the guy is, but for the sake of the review, I won't say it.

Match #2: Chris Sabin vs. Alex Shelley vs. Shark Boy vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Michael Shane w/ Tracy [Mini-Gauntlet for #20 Spot]
Good stuff. Shelley was in for all of this, so there was a great wrestler in for a sizable chunk of the match. Trinity comes out to argue with Tracy at ringside. It ends up with Shelley vs. Sabin, which is a really great pairing. Lots of cool counters for a few minutes, and then Sabin wins with the Cradle Shock.
**1/2

VICTORY ROAD: NOVEMBER 7TH!

Match #3: BG James/Konnan vs. The Naturals [#1 Contender's Match]
This is a 2 minute squash, so there's nothing of value happening here.
1/2*

Hype video for AMW/XXX.

A vignette airs of Scott Hall with gray hair talking about Victory Road, and saying he'll be in Jarrett's corner, and he hears Big Kev might be in Hardy's corner, and he sure hopes they don't run into problems at Victory Road.

Another vignette airs of Kevin Nash. He says he's never heard Scott say no before, to a drink, to a smoke, to a lovely lady, so he's wondering now why he's saying no to him by not answering his calls. He says come Victory Road, he's got Jeff's back.

A pretape airs from Roddy Piper, saying he's bringing the Pit to Victory Road, and that he supports Dusty Rhodes.

Match #4: Jeff Hardy vs. Petey Williams w/ Scott D'Amore
Well, this sucked. Jeff Jarrett comes out with a ladder to watch. It's awful for 3-4 minutes. Jarrett attacks Hardy, but when Petey tries the Canadian Destroyer, AJ runs out as the ref deals with Jarrett and he hits Petey with the Phenomenon DDT. He rolls out and Jeff hits the Swanton to win.

Match #1: Johnny B. Badd vs. Vito Thomaselli

If you asked me for a list of all time nightmare matches, this wouldn't even be on it, because the horror of Marc Mero vs. a Thomaselli is unthinkable. But way to fucking go, TNA, you went and thought of it. Mero has a sizable HGH gut. He wins with a TKO. Awful.
1/4*

In the back, Jarrett gives Shane Douglas a tape and tells him to deliver it to the truck.

Hype video for Jeff/Jeff. TNA is now clearly using loops from Garage Band for promo videos.

Coming back, Jeff Jarrett is sitting on a ladder set up in the ring. He says to play the tape, and it is he and Petey Williams beating up Hardy a little bit in his hotel room. It's hardly brutal or anything. He says he needs a new opponent for Victory Road, but Jeff Hardy runs out to attack him. Jarrett gets off the ladder to fight, but Hardy throws him out. He climbs up the ladder, but Petey runs out and shoves him off the top to the floor. Hardy is now hurt, and has to be helped to the back.

Match #2: Abyss vs. Unnamed Jobber
Abyss has a bag with him. This is whatever. Black Hole Slam wins it.
*1/4

Hype video for AMW/XXX.

Match #3: James Storm vs. Christopher Daniels
This is about a minute of great wrestling before Elix Skipper comes out to attack Storm for the DQ.
*

Harris comes out to save his partner, and then The Naturals come out! They only attack AMW for some reason, and XXX reluctantly joins in. Team Canada is watching in the back, for whatever reason. They should care more about 3LK probably.

Match #4: Spanky vs. Matt Sydal vs. Amazing Red vs. Frankie Kazarian [Loser is #1]
This is all of 2 minutes. I love Spanky and Sydal, but why the fuck even bother. Spanky rolls up Kazarian to win, so Kazarian is #1.
*1/2

The vignettes from Hall and Nash air again.

Hype for Jeff/Jeff again.

Match #5: AJ Styles/Ron Killings vs. Jeff Jarrett/Petey Williams w/ Scott D'Amore
Three good-great wrestlers can carry Petey, so this is a decent 5 minutes until the horrible end. Not great, because there was too much Petey and not enough Jarrett. AJ vs. Jarrett at the end was good though. Ref bump. Jeff Hardy runs out and hits Jarrett with the Twist of Fate and then the Swanton Bomb. AND THEN HE COVERS HIM AND THE REF COUNTS TO THREE?! WHAT THE FUCK?

**1/2

Hector Garza then cuts a promo in Mexican.

A campaign video airs for Dusty Rhodes.

Dusty is leading 54% to 45%, according to Hudson in the back. He says there's been a web server breakdown on voting sites in Stamford, CT, and wonders how that will affect the voting. LOLTNA.

Match #2: Ron Killings/Erik Watts/Johnny B. Badd/Irish Pat Kenney vs. Kid Kash/Dallas/The Naturals
Total waste of Killings and Kash, who have done amazing work in 2004. The rest of Truth's team is AWFUL though, and drags this down huge. At least it was only like 4 minutes, I guess. Truth doesn't get in until the last minute, so this was pretty much a match with no redeeming qualities. Badd hits a Frankensteiner on a Natural, and then Truth hits a weird Pedigree while doing the splits to win.
3/4*

A limo arrives in the back.

Abyss is in the back, and Tenay says he's under lockdown, just like Raven and Monty Brown, and he says they've been without food or water for 24 hours. Wait, what? Is that legal? I think TNA might have just kidnapped three people.

Match #3: Mascarita Sagrada vs. Piratita Morgan
FUCK YEAH MASCARITA SAGRADA! This is a fine showcase for him, but unfortunately, only 2 minutes. He wins with a fancy rollup.
*3/4

The poll results are still basically the same.

In the back, 3LK cuts a 3LK promo.

Scott Hall comes out and he gets on the mic. HEY YO. He says Kevin Nash couldn't make it tonight, but that's okay. His hair is black again, and is in pretty horrible shape physically. He talks about being on the first TNA show in 2002, and says he and a friend of his put the Ladder Match on the map. He says he's looking forward to the main event, and says may the best Jeff win.

Match #4: Bobby Roode/Eric Young [c] w/ Scott D'Amore vs. BG James/Konnan [NWA World Tag Team Championship]
This was at least short. Roode/EY isn't the most exciting team or anything, but they're really solid in all their fundamentals and everything they do looks good, which makes them the best Team Canada team possible. Eric takes some awesome bumps too. Good control seg, and then Konnan has a horrible control seg and hits his X-Factor to win the belts.
*3/4

A video airs asking to vote Russo. I BELIEVE IN VINCE RUSSO.

Roddy Piper comes out for something called In The Pit with Roddy Piper. Bullshit. It's fucking Piper's Pit, and his guest is JIMMY SNUKA BAH GAWD! He puts Snuka over as the innovator of what the X Division kids are doing today, and he pulls out a coconut. He says maybe he regrets what he did a little bit, and he offers Snuka a shot at payback. Kid Kash comes out though, and says Snuka was only good at jumping off cages in MSG, and he's taking time that should belong to his generation. He attacks Snuka, and Shane and Kazarian also attack him. Sonjay Dutt comes out to save and Kash cracks a coconut on his head. Roddy then finally does something, and he runs all three off. That was almost something to put over young guys, but then they did that at the last moment. Roddy then does the Superfly pose.

Match #5: Trinity w/ The NYC vs. Jacqueline
I'm sorry, what? Why is this on the show? It's only like 2 minutes and Trinity wins, but still. What the fuck?
1/4*

In the back, Hudson interviews Triple X. They say they are tired of playing nice with AMW and pretending that both teams can co-exist peacefully, when the truth is that they hate AMW just as much as AMW hates them. He says as long as there's an AMW and a Triple X, there's going to be an "us", and they can't tolerate that anymore, and it's going to end tonight.

Match #6: Raven vs. Abyss vs. Monty Brown [Monster's Ball]
Basically just No DQ. This kind of sucked, actually. They spent like 7 of 9 minutes working a normal three way, and Abyss sucks in normal matches against other mediocre guys. Raven barely did anything here, so that also sucked. They then used tables at the end, and Monty POOUUUNCED Raven through a table to win.
**

In the parking lot, Shane Douglas tries to interview whoever is in the limo, but nobody gets out.

Match #7: Petey Williams [c] w/ Scott D'Amore vs. AJ Styles [TNA X Division Championship]
This is probably MOTN, by virtue of being above average. AJ basically just does a ton of amazing shit to carry Petey. The fucking TNA crowd gives this a 50/50 split in crowd support. AJ doesn't let Petey control for long enough to ruin it. Great false finishes, and after D'Amore trips up AJ, Petey wins with the Canadian Destroyer.
**3/4

Hype video for XXX/AMW.

Match #8: America's Most Wanted vs. Triple X [Last Team Standing]
It's basically Texas Death Match rules, just with eliminations. And legal man rules, judging from the opening minutes. What the fuck? TNA has this uncanny ability to take matches like this, or AJ/Kash, that people actually really want to see, and then weigh them down with horrible stipulations. This is a huge mess as a result, and clearly their worst match ever. Not awful, and maybe in the upper echelon of matches on this show, but disappointing nonetheless. It ended up as Harris vs. Skipper as the final two, and Skipper is clearly concussed, messing up a ton of shit. Harris wins after the Catatonic on a chair.
**

Daniels comes out to attack Harris post-match. Storm comes to save, but he gets hit with a chair, and Triple X lays out AMW with many chair shots.

Mike Tenay introduces the winner of the vote, and the new Director of Authority, Dusty Rhodes! :( He thanks everybody, and talks shit about the boys up North, which when coming from TNA, is pretty much always cringeworthy. He says as his first act, be books AMW vs. XXX in Six Sides of Steel at the next PPV, Turning Point, on December 5th.

Hype video for the main event.

Match #9: Jeff Jarrett [c] vs. Jeff Hardy [NWA World Heavyweight Championship - Ladder Match]
Hardy looks like he blew the Incredible Hulk. LIST OF HORRIBLE THINGS IN THIS MATCH:
-Jarrett refusing to take a face bump into a ladder on the mat
-Obvious and loud spot calling
-The ladder not co-operating with their spots
-Hardy going for a Flatliner, but Jarrett falling back instead, creating the worst STO of all time
-Hardy almost breaks his leg on the Leapfrog Legdrop
-This leads to Jeff being overly cautious on every bump for a few minutes
-Camera catches Tenay blatantly reading off a script
-Jarrett gets a ladder shot to the ribs, and Jeff stands there for about 5 seconds, registering nothing, before falling back
-Jeff Hardy is late on several close calls, leaving Jarrett up there, clearly able to get the belt, with his fucking dick in his hands, in the words of James Gibson
-The worst spot is Jeff Hardy missing Jarrett entirely when trying a Sunset Flip Powerbomb off the ladder, and the ladder just kind of falling over when Jeff grabs the bottom of it when landing, but Jeff bumps off like he was powerbombed anyways

You get it. It's awful. The MVP of this is actually Don West, pointing out that Jarrett is using Hall's gameplan from WrestleMania X, letting the risktaker crash and burn and then taking over. Hall comes out to get Jeff Hardy with the Outsider's Edge. They then keep going for like 5-10 minutes, so that made no sense there. They both climb up, and Jarrett has his guitar. Nash comes out with another guitar, AND HE HITS HARDY WITH IT OH NOES. Jarrett then hits Hardy with the other one, and he gets the belt.
*1/4

The Outsiders celebrate with him, and Nash says they're taking over (originality, always TNA's strong suit), and asks if anyone in the back wants to try and stop them. AJ comes out and initially runs them off, but when he tries the Clash on Jarrett, Nash gets him with a Big Boot. 3LK comes out too, but they get destroyed. THEN IN THE PARKING LOT, RANDY SAVAGE STEPS OUT OF THE LIMO! He walks to the ring, and that's where the PPV ends.

What an absolutely abysmal PPV. Good lord.

TONIGHT: Raven vs. Monty Brown

Jeff Jarrett and The Outsiders come out to open the show. Nash gets on the mic and says they've been through a lot together, he and Scott, and he decided to put some faith in Scott's judgment at Victory Road, and it looks like he's on the winning team. He dubs them the Kings of Wrestling, and hey, nope. I don't see Hero or Claudio. Not the Kings of Wrestling. Nash says they're going to get rid of all the trash and dominate TNA. Jarrett says as for Randy Savage, they made him leave Victory Road in a pool of his own blood, and he invites any free agent to come and test them, and says they're going to take out two of the top dogs before they leave tonight.

Match #1: 3 Live Kru vs. Three Unnamed Jobbers
This is short. I mean, like 20 seconds short.
1/4*

Team Canada comes out and attacks 3LK in 4 on 3.

A LIMO ARRIVES IN THE PARKING LOT AGAIN.

Hype video for AMW/XXX at Turning Point.

Match #2: Kid Kash/Michael Shane/Frankie Kazarian w/ Tracy vs. Hector Garza/Psicosis/La Parka
Good showcase for the three heels, who work pretty well together. They bump around well too, and make the luchadors look much better than they are in the year 2004. Unfortunately, TNA is fast becoming LOLTNA as it's 2 minutes before Kash hits Garza with a coconut for the win.
*3/4

Match #3: Monty Brown vs. Raven

Fine enough for 4 minutes. Monty hits the Pounce, and Raven flies into the ref. Abyss comes out to brawl with Monty, and he hits the Black Hole Slam. He leaves, but DDP then hops over the railing and hits Raven with the Diamond Cutter! He leaves, and a hooded figure meets Abyss on the stage. Monty covers Raven to win.
**

Monty Brown hype video airs.

In the back, Hudson is with Petey and D'Amore, and he says that Sabin has been named #1 Contender for his title at Turning Point. What the fuck? Then why not have him win the gauntlet match? Petey says he knows Sabin better than anyone, and Hudson says he's heard Sabin saying he has a counter to the Canadian Destroyer. Petey says he's all talk, and nobody can counter or beat the Canadian Destroyer, just like AJ Styles now knows.

Match #4: Chris Sabin vs. Alex Shelley
Short, but awesome, spotfest to put Sabin over. Petey comes out to watch. Sabin gets the Cradle Shock to win.
**

Petey comes out and tries the Canadian Destroyer, but Sabin easily counters into the Cradle Shock! They could have easily done this in later weeks, now they have to fill 3 more weeks.

In the back, Douglas asks DDP about Raven, and DDP says Raven knows exactly why he's here.

Match #5: AJ Styles/Jeff Hardy vs. The Naturals
Another short, but decent showcase match. AJ carries it. It actually gets about 5 minutes, so it's the longest match of the night. TNA needs to stop trying to fit 5 matches into 40 minutes. 2-3 reasonable length matches or a few squashes and then one normal length match is how you do it. ECW on SciFi really perfected the format for an hour long show. Jeff's hot tag is the best he's looked in TNA yet. AJ gets the Styles Clash to win.
**1/2

The Pretenders to the Throne come down, and they lay out AJ and Jeff with the Outsider's Edge and the Jackknife Powerbomb to end the show.
