CHIKARA Campeones Des Parejas: Incoherence, Since 10/26/2007 CHIKARA Young Lions Cup Champion: Helios, Since 10/247/2007 ![]() CHIKARA Chapter 11 November 18th, 2007 The New Alhambra Arena Philadelphia, PA Hype videos air for Kingston/Hallowicked. Ryder/Lince, and Hero/Claudio. Match #1: Chuck Taylor/Team F.I.S.T. vs. Tim Donst/Los Ice Creams Lots of fun, once again. Los Ice Creams bring the comedy, and FIST beats the shit out of Donst. He and Los Ice Creams keep[ miscommunicating and hitting each other, and in an absolute tragedy, Los Ice Creams turn rudo again by talking out on Tim Donst. He's stuck in a three on one, and gets hit with the Awful Waffle, and then Icarus' Pedigree, followed by the CHIKARA Special for the win.**3/4 Match #2: Hydra vs. Robbie Ellis My god. Comedy MOTY. TEN MILLION STARS Match #3: The Colony vs. Shane Storm/Super Smash Bros. The Colony delivers AGAIN. Lots of really cool SSB double teams, as well as the usual Colony stuff that's super crisp and fiery. Shane Storm is there as well, but isn't in that much and is sort of just the sixth guy in the match. He doesn't ruin it or anything though, so that's nice of him. The Colony beats Stupefied with the Voltron Splash to win. *** Match #4: Larry Sweeney [c] vs. Brian Alvarez [ICW-ICWA Texarkana Television Championship] This is the Brian Alvarez of Figure 4 Wrestling newsletter "fame". This is a bad idea, despite Sweeney bumping around super well for him, and Alvarez being trained. Just a waste of Sweeney. He carries Brian through matwork and bumps big, and yeah. Sweeney has issues with the ref though, and he shoves the ref, who shoves him back into a roll up for the win?! BULLSHIT. **1/4 Match #5: Delirious/Up in Smoke vs. MIYAWAKI/El Pantera/Passion Hasegawa This is awesome. Usual really crisp lucha stuff from Up in Smoke, taking Passion and Pantera along with them, combined with MIYAWAKI beating the shit out of people. Big awesome finishing run, and Delirious beats Passion with the Chemical Imbalance II. *** Match #6: Mike Quackenbush/Helios/Trik Davis vs. The Osirian Portal/Shayne Hawke ANOTHER super fun trios match. Trik looks not totally awful, and actually contributes to some of the lucha sequences. The heels have a solid control segment, and then the finishing run is out of this world great. Tons of really inventive and crisp sequences and dives, and Helios beats Amasis with a Corkscrew Press from off the top. ***1/4 In the back, Eddie Kingston cuts another amazing promo. He says there is a difference between a need and a want. You need air to breathe, and you want titles, but you don't NEED titles. Hallowicked wants to win tonight, for his myth about being the top student, but he needs it. He's tired of yelling, and he needs to prove to himself. Not to anybody else, because he doesn't care about anyone else, but he has to show himself that he really is better. That he deserves those opportunities that Hallowicked gets. He says this isn't fun anymore, and he wants to leave wrestling now. He says his body is in shambles and he has demons every day, but he thinks after tonight, he'll be justified and he'll fill that hole inside of him. Match #7: Eddie Kingston vs. Hallowicked [Falls Count Anywhere] They work the stip really well, and this is an awesome brawl. Lots of hate. Big strikes. Awesome build to a few huge spots. The cumulative selling of both men was great, especially by Kingston. Awesome finishing run of them dropping their biggest bombs on each other. Hallowicked has an awesome fighting spirit comeback, but King cuts it off with the Backfist to the Future for the win. ***1/4 Match #8: Lince Dorado vs. Mitch Ryder [MASK VS. HAIR] This is fine enough. They do some nice matwork, and then they start with the smoke and mirrors. Sweeney and Hawke get involved after a ref bump, and some of the babyfaces come out to counter them. They do stuff, and Lince hits a SSP Back Senton, but he overrotates and hits his head on the mat. He has kind of a seizure here, and they cut to his arm on Ryder for the win. Ryder had to drag him on top, but they cut that out. **3/4 Obviously, they took him to the hospital, and they ended the show there. Hero/Claudio took place a few weeks later on a free show at Penn State, which I don't have. Just as well, as it's pretty much a huge house show performance from everyone. |
