NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Raven, Since 6/19/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 4/29/2005 TNA X-Division Champion: Christopher Daniels, Since 3/13/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA Impact September 2nd, 2006 Orlando, FL Match #1: Sean Waltman/Alex Shelley vs. Konnan/Lance Hoyt [Candido Cup Semi-Finals] This is decent for 4 minutes. Almost good, which is an impressive statement for the abilities of the Waltman/Shelley team. Kip James comes out to distract Konnan and Hoyt, and then Waltman hits the X Factor to win. ** In the back, Jarrett tries to appeal to 3LK to join him, but they refuse. Match #2: Christopher Daniels vs. Shark Boy Good stuff for what it was. Daniels controls for a bit, until AJ runs out to distract Daniels, in a fucking polo with a popped collar (goddamnit AJ), and Sharkie gets a roll up for the huge upset. ** Match #3: Chris Sabin/Shocker vs. Ron Killings/Sonjay Dutt [Candido Cup Semi-Finals] Best CC match yet. Everyone is solid. Sabin and Shocker have issues again, and Killings has an awesome hot tag. Sabin and Shocker pull through thoguh, and Sabin rolls up Truth for the win. **1/2 Match #4: Monty Brown vs. Apolo Ahahahaha nope! Hype video for Raven/Rhino. NEXT WEEK: Raven/Sabu vs. Rhino/Abyss, Candido Cup finals! Match #5: James Storm vs. Chase Stevens Tag partners are there. This was fine enough. They do stuff and Storm wins with pulling the tights. YEAH FUCK YOU NATURALS **1/4 |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Raven, Since 6/19/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 4/29/2005 TNA X-Division Champion: Christopher Daniels, Since 3/13/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA Impact September 9th, 2005 Orlando, FL Match #1: Sean Waltman/Alex Shelley vs. Chris Sabin/Shocker [Candido Cup Finals] Sabin and Shocker have issues, but Waltman and Shelley work really well together again for the 5 minutes that this goes. Shelley carries Shocker. Shelley vs. Sabin is great. Shocker ends up walking out on Sabin like a piece of shit, and Waltman beats Sabin with the X Factor. **1/2 Abyss vs. Sabu is announced for Unbreakable. Match #2: Samoa Joe vs. Shark Boy Another wonderful Joe squash. ** Match #3: Chris Harris vs. Eric Young vs. Andy Douglas All the tag partners are here. This was inoffensive, due to Harris and Young both being good. Douglas does nothing, but Eric takes big bumps. He gets beaten with the Catatonic. **1/4 In the back, Waltman and Shelley celebrate with the Candido Cup. A Kliq member winning the Candido Cup. Incredible work, TNA. Match #4: Sonjay Dutt vs. Elix Skipper w/ Simon Diamond Good squash for Skipper, weirdly. Sudden Death wins. ** Hype video for Daniels/AJ/Joe. Match #5: Raven/Sabu vs. Rhino/Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell This was still fine, but there's no reason for this being just a normal tag. Sabu has a good hot tag and uses a chair, so why not just work all the match like that? Rhino accidentally hits Abyss with the GOOOOOOORE and Abyss then hits the Arabian Facebreaker for the win. **1/2 Rhino Gores Sabu post-match, and then Raven too. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Raven, Since 6/19/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 4/29/2005 TNA X-Division Champion: Christopher Daniels, Since 3/13/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY ![]() TNA UNBREAKABLE 2005 SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2005 ORLANDO, FL A 9/11 tribute video open the show. Not a tribute exactly, more of a memorial video. Although running a tribute to the greatest national tragedy of the last 50 or so years is something I can easily see TNA doing. Match #1: 3 Live Kru vs. Simon Diamond/Elix Skipper/David Young This really belonged on the pre-show, since it was no more than 4 and a half minutes and essentially a showcase for 3LK. They tried hard and Killings and Skipper did most of the work, so it was hardly bad or anything, just nothing of any real substance. Konnan beats Young with a Facebuster. ** Clips air from the pre-show of Jarrett, Monty, and Hardy all fighting over who gets a title shot. Oh my god, is this summer of 2004? We've come so far, guys. Jeff's been de-emphasized, Hardy's fucked off, Monty is on the undercard where he belongs, don't go back to this. You've been so great this summer. TNA in the summer of 2005 is like having a kid, and sticking by him when he was a fuck up troublemaker when he was an adolescent. Then he gets his shit together at 17, gets accepted to an amazing college, and really looks like he's going to do awesome. Watching TNA in 2005 after the fact is watching all of that while also knowing that around the end of his first year in college (in which he had some issues, but had way more good than bad and kicked ass on finals despite everything), he starts taking meth and self-destructs horribly and hilariously in a very public way. Match #2: Austin Aries vs. Roderick Strong This gets 10 minutes, so it's goddamned awesome. Best comparison is the early Rey matches in WWE or the early Benoit/Eddie matches in WCW where they're doing tons of cool shit in 10 minutes or less to get over huge so they have work. Aries wins with the Brainbuster and 450 Splash. *** Kip and Monty Brown promo. Don't care. Match #3: Monty Brown/Kip James vs. Lance Hoyt/Apolo w/ Sonny Siaki Well, this sucked. This gets 10 minutes too, because fuck life. Heels win. *1/2 In the back, Tracy interviews Team Canada. Eric is freaking out and says it's 6 on 2 tonight, and the referee is American too. Roode slaps him and tells him to get the job done and snap out of it, and then tells A1 to start earning his keep for once tonight. Petey says some stuff too, and Roode looks down Tracy's shirt. Match #4: Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams Not as good as their last PPV match, but the second best match so far. Like all their matches though, it's better than usual for Petey and they have a lot of really cool counters going on. Sabin wins with the Cradle Shock. **1/2 Matt Bentley comes out and Superkicks Sabin. He gets on the mic and challenges them both to an Ultimate X Match at Bound for Glory so he can show these people and everyone all over the world that he rules the X Division. Match #5: Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Sabu [No DQ] Fun brawl. Lots of cool table bumps and Sabu spots. Not quite great for whatever reason, but a lot of enjoyable shit. Abyss gets the Black Hole Slam onto thumbtacks for the win. **3/4 In the back, Shane interviews Shelley. He says Waltman didn't show up tonight, but he has no idea why he did it or where he is. He says he guesses he'll be alone, and the Total Nonstop Alex world tour goes on with or without Waltman. Match #6: Bobby Roode vs. Jeff Hardy This is the best Jeff performance in TNA yet. Not great or anything, but more importantly, he's not embarrassingly sloppy and actually has a few good moments. He's still a little off at moments, but improvement is improvement. Jeff Jarrett comes out and hits Hardy with the hockey stick and Roode covers to win. **1/4 Hype video for the tag title match. Match #7: The Naturals [c] w/ Jimmy Hart vs. America's Most Wanted vs. Eric Young/A1 vs. Alex Shelley/Johnny Candido [NWA World Tag Team Championship - Elimination Match] Fittingly, Candido's brother fills in for Waltman. He never really accomplished anything besides this, but let the guy have his moment, whatevs. Shelley is good as a scavenger. AMW and Eric do their best to make this not totally atrocious. A1 and The Naturals try real hard to drag it down. It lands somewhere in the middle. Candido is beat by EY. AMW gets beat after the hockey stick shot, and right after that, A1 gets hit with the Natty Ice Disaster, so the fucking Naturals AGAIN still have the belts. Mother of fuck. ** BOUND FOR GLORY: OCTOBER 23RD! Hype video for Raven/Rhino. Match #8: Raven [c] vs. Rhino [NWA World Heavyweight Championship - Raven's Rules] This was disappointing. I was kind of counting on this to be a swan song for Raven as a great wrestler, but this was pretty pedestrian as far as Raven gimmick matches go. The one with Abyss is a much better example of what Raven's capable of. They got into cool stuff in the final moments, but the first 5-10 minutes were mostly just them doing stuff. Really loud spot calling too. REALLY LOUD. Jarrett went out to get involved, but Jeff Hardy came out to stop him, and they fought to the back, Raven is then able to hit the Evenflow for the win. **3/4 Hype video for the main event. Match #9: Christopher Daniels [c] vs. AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe [TNA X Division Championship] Well this is fucking great, but you probably knew this. Lots of really crisp strikes, awesome spots, dives, counters, etc. Really really really well laid out match. There's a few little things that hold it back from being an all time classic in the pantheon of pro wrestling for every company ever, but as far as TNA goes, naming this their best match ever probably isn't far off, if at all. And that's only minor shit like a few things that didn't quite fit, mainly the finish. It's a match where the moves get bigger and bigger and ends with a roll up. I hate that shit. HATE it. Real annoying finish to what was such a great goddamned match. AJ back drops out of the Angel's Wings and bridges back on it to regain the belt. Daniels' awesome title run deserved a grander finish. **** |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 9/15/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 4/29/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 9/11/2005 TNA Impact October 1st, 2005 Orlando, FL Match #1: AJ Styles vs. Roderick Strong Awesome 4 minutes AJ showcase to open the show. Christopher Daniels comes out to commentary and yells that AJ is walking around with HIS title. Tenay then announces AJ/Daniels for the X Title at Bound For Glory in an Iron Man Match. AJ wins with the Styles Clash. **1/4 A hype video airs for Monty Brown. In the back, Raven is going insane and hitting people with garbage cans, reacting to losing the NWA Title and thus the force that was keeping his body from breaking down. Security takes him away and Larry yells to keep him out. Match #2: Monty Brown vs. Lex Lovett Decent squash. POOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE does it. *1/2 Hype video for the X Division. Match #3: Chris Sabin vs. Alex Shelley vs. Petey Williams Solid spotfest to showcase the division. Shelley vs. Sabin is once again the highlight. This gets 6 minutes, so they do a lot of cool stuff. Sabin beats Shelley with the Cradle Shock for the win. **3/4 Petey lays Sabin out post-match with the Canadian Destroyer. Hype video for 3LK. Match #4: Rhino vs. Jeff Hardy During the match, MONSTERS BALL II~ is announced for BFG, along with Sabu and Abyss. Could be good. This is the least of all the real matches, since Jeff is dogging it. Abyss comes out to attack him for the DQ. *3/4 Sabu comes out to save and clears the ring with chair offense. Clips air of the Jarrett/Raven title switch in Canada. The first 2/3rds are on youtube, but without a finish, there's no point in reviewing it. The point is, AMW turned heel to help Jarrett win the title. Jarrett and AMW come out to the ring, and Jarrett thanks AMW for doing the right thing and helping him regain the power in TNA, and says the three of them built TNA from the ground up to get to this point, and it's all because of him. He brings out the returning Scott D'Amore and thanks him for letting the match take place in his promotion. He says he lived up to his end of their deal, and he expects something in return and Jeff says he'll get it. 3LK comes out and Konnan says the fans built TNA, not him. They brawl with AMW and Jarrett, but they get beaten down. AND SON OF A BITCH, IT'S FUCKING TEAM 3D DEBUTING FOR THE SAVE. DAMNIT. They run off AMW, and then fucking Kevin Nash makes his return and Jackknifes Jarrett, and says they have business to finish at BFG. Fuck everything. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 9/15/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Naturals, Since 4/29/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 9/11/2005 TNA Impact October 8th, 2005 Orlando, FL Clips air of Raven being escorted out of the building by security earlier today. TONIGHT: AMW vs. Team 3D! Awesome job giving that away for free with absolutely no build. Match #1: 3 Live Kru vs. Bobby Roode/Eric Young/A1 w/ Scott D'Amore Kip James watches from the stage. Decent showcase for 3LK for a few minutes. Roode and EY both looked good and had a decent control seg. Truth has the awesome hot tag. Truth hits Eric with the Scissors Kick to win. **1/4 Team Canada attacks them from behind, but Kip James runs out to make the save! Konnan argues with him, and BG tries to break it up. Hype video for Ultimate X. Match #2: Christopher Daniels vs. Austin Aries vs. Matt Bentley w/ Tracy Another solid three way. Aries and Daniels both have a lot of cool spots, and Bentley is a solid base for both of them. Petey Williams comes out to harrass Tracy, and Chris Sabin runs out and they fight to the back. Daniels ends up beating Aries with Angel's Wings. **3/4 Hype video for Abyss. Match #3: Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Sonny Siaki Decent Abyss squash. *1/4 Larry comes out to the ring and he says he's booked Jarrett/Nash for the title at BFG, and he brings out the guest referee, Tito Ortiz! They act like this is a first time deal. Goddamnit. Jeff Jarrett comes out and says this is unfair and calls Nash a failed actor. Nash comes out, and they fight. Tito pulls them apart and who gives a fuck? It's not like the match happens. In the back, Shane interviews Christopher Daniels. He says he dominated this division for six months, and AJ just got lucky. He says he could beat anyone in this division, and he could beat this entire division in a row if he wanted to, in under 15 minutes. AJ comes over and asks if he's up to that, and challenges Daniels to fight three X Division wrestlers in a row next week in under 15 minutes, and Daniels accepts. Match #4: America's Most Wanted vs. Team 3D They make up for the lack of hype or anything by having this be a short match and being more of an angle in the end. Gail Kim makes her debut by coming out and low blowing Bubba! ** Jeff Jarrett comes out too, and it's a 3 on 2 on Team 3D. They beat them up bad, and they bleed everywhere. D-Von gets the guitar shot and Bubba is hit with the NWA Title belt and then the Death Sentence. Planet Jarrett celebrates over them to end the show. |

POOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE on Mikey ends it. ** Clips air of Raven again not being allowed in the building by security. NEXT WEEK: NATURALS/AMW FOR THE BELTS! THE WORLD FINALLY GOES BACK TO NORMAL! A hype video for airs for Joe/Liger at Bound For Glory. Match #2: Matt Bentley vs. David Young Bentley is now wrestling like a face now. Weird. The fans are now doing the horrible BENTLEY BOUNCE~. He wins with the Superkick. *1/2 Petey again comes out to hit on Tracy and he attacks Bentley, but Chris Sabin comes out to save. TEAM 3D FUNERAL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39ALrysh0Qo HIGHLIGHTS: -James Storm drinking -Mitchell's eulogy -Abyss destroying a tissue box -Team Canada pounding their hockey sticks -Scott D'Amore with a lap full of food -James Storm saying they joined Jarrett for the money because he needs money for beer, prompting Roode to yell out "MONEY!" in an amazing coincidental sign of things to come in 3 years -Eric Young freaking out about ghosts -They agree to reconvene for Nash's funeral after BFG Match #3: Rhino vs. Sabu This should have had a gimmick, but I understand making people pay for that. Abyss comes out to distract Sabu, and Rhino then hits the GOOOOOOOOOOOORE for the win. ** Abyss then attacks Rhino. Jeff Hardy then comes out to join the fight, and all four get held apart. Match #4: Christopher Daniels vs. Shark Boy/Sonjay Dutt/AJ Styles [15 Minute Gauntlet Challenge] Shark is first, and Daniels dominates him and wins in 90 seconds with the Angel's Wings. Dutt is next, and they have a good match for 10 minutes or so. More like 7 with a commercial, but whatevs. Daniels is also wearing that strange collar now. He does a good job guiding Dutt while also selling exhaustion. He beats him with Last Rites with 2 minutes left, AND AJ RUNS OUT AS THE FINAL GUY! YEAH! They have a great run of stuff and Daniels just rolls out of the ring as AJ tries a springboard in the last 10 minutes and time expires. **3/4 Edited by Big Tuna, May 15 2012, 01:53 PM.

Elix has some solid work, and then the Muscle Buster and The Choke for the win. Fuck that Coquina Clutch bullshit. THE CHOKE. **1/4 Hype video for Ultimate X. Match #2: The Naturals [c] vs. America's Most Wanted w/ Gail Kim [NWA World Tag Team Championship] This is AMW's first match as heels, and they're pretty good at it. Storm especially. Naturals actually show fire as babyfaces, which is hilarious since they've had six fucking months to do that and haven't until now. Jarrett comes out to interfere too, and Harris smashes a beer bottle on one of their heads for the win. AMW finally has the belts back. If I ever do that TNA btb, AMW never stays apart from the belts this long again until summer 2006. **3/4 Hype video for Monster's Ball II. Match #3: Ron Killings vs. Bobby Roode BG James and D'Amore are there too. This is real good for only 3 minutes or so. Kip James comes out to talk to BG, who wants no part of it. Konnan comes out to attack Kip, and this allowed Roode to hit Truth with the hockey stick for the win while the ref isn't looking. ** In the back, Monty Brown is being interviewed and he says he wants back in the World Title picture too after Bound For Glory. Jarrett comes over and says Brown refused to help him last summer, so their deal is off the table, and Monty has to earn his way back to a title shot. Match #4: AJ Styles/Jeff Hardy/Lance Hoyt vs. Jeff Jarrett/Abyss/Monty Brown w/ Father James Mitchell Solid three way. They announce Monty/Hoyt for BFG during this. Awful. AJ does most of the work, but the heels all are good opposite him. AJ goes up top near the end, but Daniels runs out and shoves him off. Jeff goes for The Stroke on AJ, but Monty breaks it up and hits AJ with the Pounce for the win. **1/2 Everyone keeps brawling post-match. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 9/15/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 TNA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 9/11/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY ![]() TNA BOUND FOR GLORY 2005 OCTOBER 23RD, 2005 ORLANDO, FL Match #1: Samoa Joe vs. Jushin Liger This...there may not be a more disappointing match out there. Not disappointing in a sense that it didn't click or anything, but disappointing in the sense that this is THE greatest wrestler alive at the current moment facing unquestionably one of the greatest of all time, maybe even the greatest pure cruiserweight/junior heavyweight ever...AND IT GETS 7 MINUTES. Don't get me wrong, it was a fucking fantastic 7 minutes. Liger still has it when it comes to big matches, and Joe is fucking Samoa Joe. I mean, goddamn. Some incredible stuff between them. Just far too short. Considering some of the filler matches on this show, it becomes that much more infuriating. Joe wins with the Muscle Buster and The Choke. **3/4 Clips air of the BFG Fanfest, with the fucking neckbeards demanding wrestling instead of soap operas and they say wrestling sucks except for TNA. Then watch Smackdown, it got awesome again in the spring of 2005, guys. At this point, you're looking at like one *** match a week, which is way better than TNA. Or you know, watch indies. Shit, 2005's probably the best year for indy wrestling ever, you fucks. Match #2: Simon Diamond/Elix Skipper/David Young vs. Shark Boy/Sonny Siaki/Apolo This got just as long as Joe/Liger/ TNA isn't actively promoting anyone here and is using the heels as enhancement guys on TNA. SO HEY, GIVE THE 7 MINUTES THIS GOT TO JOE/LIGER! WHAT THE FUCK, TNA?! Skipper and Young have some solid stuff and Skipper beats Sharkie with the Sudden Death. *3/4 Clips air of Raven trying to get in through the crowd on the pre-show and saying he deserves the shot. He and Rhino had words about who deserves the title shot more with Nash being out due to a heart condition, and they brawled. Raven was again escorted from the building. In the back, Shane is with Jarrett and Gail Kim and he asks who's gonna get the shot. Jarrett says he doesn't know who it is and he doesn't care. Match #3: Monty Brown vs. Lance Hoyt This happened, I guess. It was hardly bad or anything, and they kept it short at 6 minutes. Decent power match. Monty wins with the POOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE. ** In the back, Kip James apologizes to 3LK for what he tried to do, and says he just wanted his best friend back. He offers to be in their corner tonight to even the odds. Konnan shoves him and says to stay away from them or he'll beat his ass again. He walks off, and Kip apologizes. Killings and BG say it's not a bad idea, but they also walk off. Match #4: 3 Live Kru vs. Bobby Roode/Eric Young/A1 w/ Scott D'Amore Solid 6 minutes. Killings, Roode, and EY once again basically do all the work, and it's acceptable. Truth has an awesome hot tag, and Eric takes huge bumps. BG gets back in and they almost have it won, but Scott distracts the ref and Roode hits him with the hockey stick for the win. **1/4 Team Canada keeps on the attack post-match, and Kip James runs out with a chair. They hold up Konnan for him, but he hits A1 with the chair instead, and he turns off Team Canada. Hype video for Ultimate X. Match #5: Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams vs. Matt Bentley [#1 Contender's Ultimate X Match] This is a fun spotfest. Some problems with the X happen, and they have to stop the match at one point to hang it back up, but it was worse in the first UX match, Some cool spots, and yeah. Less contrived shit than I expected. I'm willing to overlook flaws if there's enough cool stuff, but it seemed like it was just missing that last amazing spot to put it over the top. The X falls again, and Petey catches it from below, so they call it in his favor. **3/4 Hype video for AMW/Naturals. Match #6: America's Most Wanted [c] w/ Gail Kim vs. The Naturals [NWA World Tag Team Championship] AMW once again drags The Naturals to a great match. Awesome brawl, like at Hard Justice, but with more hate and violence from AMW, attacking and reopening the cut from the beer bottle. They have some cool spots too. I now believe that The Naturals will only try against AMW. They end up handcuffing Douglas to the Ultimate X structure, so he can't tag in. Chase is all alone, and he gets beat after the Death Sentence. *** They hit Douglas with chairs while he's still handcuffed post-match. Hype video for MONSTARS BALL~ Match #7: Sabu vs. Rhino vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell [MONSTER'S BALL II~] This was a really fun garbage spotfest. Having four guys in there allows for a lot more, especially when the two daredevils are feeling suitably insane on this night. Tables, chairs, thumbtacks, ladders, etc. As far as TNA matches used to showcase guys who need gimmick matches to seem good and are past their prime, this is one of the better ones. Jeff does a Swanton off the stage again. At the end, Rhino hits a Piledriver off the middle rope to Jeff through a table for the win. *** In the back, Larry announces that after the next match, there will be a 10 man Gauntlet for the Gold, with the winner getting the title shot right after. Match #8: AJ Styles [c] vs. Christopher Daniels [TNA X Division Championship - 30 Minute Iron Man Match] Totally different from the first match while still being of the same quality, so good for them. They brawl to start, because now they just don't like each other and don't need to feel each other out. After a crazy crowd dive, AJ controls in the ring, and works on the neck. Daniels hurts the neck of AJ and then works on it. AJ comes back and the majority of offense by both men is on the neck, in some smart work. They build to an awesome awesome final 10 minutes. With 5 seconds left, AJ counters a roll up into the Styles Clash for the win. ***1/4 Match #9: 10 Man Gauntlet For the Gold Participants are Rhino, Abyss, Samoa Joe, Ron Killings, Sabu, Lance Hoyt, Jeff Hardy, Monty Brown, Kip James, and A.J. Styles. Joe is in all match basically, so he gets to have great interactions with everyone. Gets down to Joe, AJ, Rhino, Abyss, and Truth. Joe gets Truth with the Muscle Buster and he tosses him out. Joe and AJ have their awesome stuff and Joe has the Choke near the ropes, but Abyss lifts them both out. BOOOOOOOOO. Rhino then hits Abyss with the Gore to win. **3/4 Jarrett immediately comes out and attacks for the title match. Match #10: Jeff Jarrett [c] vs. Rhino [NWA World Heavyweight Championship - Special Enforcer: Tito Ortiz] This was a fine 5 minutes. Typical Jarrett brawl, but with the gift of not being too long. AMW gets involved, but Rhino GORES Jeff before he can swing the guitar, and he wins the belt! ** AMW attacks Rhino post-match, and 3LK runs out to save for whatever reason. Team Canada comes out to help, and Jarrett gets back up. They keep on the attack, and Team 3D returns to save to end the show. Okay then. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Rhino, Since 10/23/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 TNA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 9/11/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA Impact October 29th, 2005 Orlando, FL Match #1: Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Lance Hoyt This was at least short. Not surprisingly not horrible like their summer match, but just pretty horrible for 3 minutes. Abyss wins with the Black Hole Slam. 1/2* Abyss brings the bag of tacks out, but the lights go out! It's Sabu and he has barbed wire around his arm, which causes Abyss to outright flee from the ring. West announces Abyss/Sabu II for Genesis. At commentary, Tenay announces a 2 hour Thursday special this week, and says due to errors in the Ultimate X match, a rematch will happen on this show to crown the #1 Contender for the X Title. Also, Jarrett will get his title rematch on this show. Match #2: Christopher Daniels vs. Jerrelle Clark Fun little match. Clark takes awesome bumps and has crisp and cool offense. Daniels is now using a cool John Woo Dropkick style jumping knee. Daniels wins with Angel's Wings. **1/4 Match #3: AJ Styles/Sonjay Dutt vs. Alex Shelley/Roderick Strong Awesome awesome 8 minute formula tag. Shelley is such a fantastic piece of shit here. Strong does all his awesome Backbreaker spots and ragdolls Dutt around, and to his credit, Dutt takes a bunch of insane bumps. They have an awesome control seg on Dutt, and then AJ has his awesome hot tag, and he beats Strong with the Styles Clash. ***1/4 In the back, 3LK talks to Larry and they want a rematch with Team Canada at Genesis. He okays it, but adds Kip James as the referee to make sure nothing screwy happens. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense, Larry. Jarrett/AMW vs. Rhino/Team 3D is announced for Genesis. Match #4: America's Most Wanted w/ Gail Kim vs. Ron Killings/BG James w/ Konnan Good 5 minutes. Killings works most of this, and AMW continue to grow as heels. Team Canada causes a distraction and Storm beats BG with the Superkick. **1/4 After the break, Team 3D comes out to the ring. They say that funeral thing was real funny, and then Bubba vows to make everyone involved in that thing pay dearly. Team Canada comes out to the ring, and they overwhelm them in a 4 on 2. 3LK runs out to save, and AMW, Jarrett, and Rhino also get involved for a big brawl. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Rhino, Since 10/23/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 TNA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 9/11/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA Impact November 3rd, 2005 Orlando, FL Match #1: Jeff Hardy/Sabu/Lance Hoyt vs. The Diamonds in the Rough Solid showcase for the babyfaces for a few minutes, but hardly great. Jeff beats Simon with the Swanton Bomb. *3/4 Abyss comes out and throws Jeff and Hoyt out, and he lays out Sabu with the Black Hole Slam. In the back, Shane interviews Jarrett. He says management hates him and wants that title off of him, but it always finds its way home, and he would deliver once again tonight. Monty Brown comes over and says he might just do that, but he's done proving himself and says that next title shot belongs to him. Match #2: Monty Brown vs. Brian Gamble Solid showcase for Monty. POOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE ends it. *1/2 A recap airs of the Rhino/Jeff title switch, along with Rhino talking about his past problems with throwing vases in hotel lobbies. An eight man X Division elimination match is announced for Genesis, and it's Joe/Daniels/Shelley/Strong vs. Sabin/Aries/Dutt/Bentley. DAT HEEL TEAM, MY GOD. Match #2: AJ Styles/Austin Aries/Sonjay Dutt vs. Samoa Joe/Christopher Daniels/Alex Shelley GOOD LORD WHAT A FUCKING MATCH. They tease Joe/Daniels friction while also delivering an amazing formula tag with tons of cool offense. All the faces take retardedly huge bumps. The heel trio has a great mix of a crafty vet, a young chickenshit heel, and an unstoppable force. Dutt is again a good FIP and AJ has the awesome hot tag. Dives and spots happen and AJ beats Shelley with the Styles Clash. ***1/4 Recap of the Team 3D stuff. Match #3: Team 3D vs. Bobby Roode/Eric Young w/ Scott D'Amore Eric once again took a ton of awesome bumps and really put 100% into making sure Team 3D looked amazing. I mean, it's 2005, they aren't really good anymore so it didn't work super well, but Eric still worked his ass off. Good Team Canada control seg, and yeah, Eric got beat with the 3D. **1/4 Match #4: Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams vs. Matt Bentley [#1 Contender's Ultimate X Match] D'Amore and Tracy are both there. Credit to them for not just repeating the spots they did at BFG. Still not quite great, but once again very good. Petey and Bentley are both up and Petey gets a low blow on Bentley and gets the X to win. **3/4 In the back, the rest of Team Canada attacks 3LK from behind. Match #5: Rhino [c] vs. Jeff Jarrett [NWA World Heavyweight Championship] This happened. Typical Jarrett brawl with pedestrian fighting on the floor and lots of overbooking. AMW and Gail get involved, ref bump, etc. AMW hits Rhino with the Death Sentence through a table on the floor. They roll him in and Jarrett covers to regain the belt. **1/4 |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 11/3/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 TNA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 9/11/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA Impact November 12th, 2005 Orlando, FL Monty Brown comes out to open the show. He wants a title shot. So do Abyss and Juff Hardy. They all brawl. Moving on. TONIGHT: AJ vs. Petey in a Finisher Challenge Christopher Daniels comes out to do commentary. Match #1: Samoa Joe vs. Austin Aries Amazing 4 minute version of their usual match. Big/little spots, huge Aries bumps, crisp offense from both guys, etc. Muscle Buster and The Choke gets the win for Joe. **3/4 In the back, D'Amore suggests to Larry that they put poles up in four corners of the ring with hockey sticks, so they can be used in the Canada/3LK match tomorrow night. Larry says he likes it, and also makes Kip James the referee. Which was announced two weeks ago, so great work by TNA there. Match #2: Kip James vs. Lex Lovett Nah It is time for the Finisher Challenge. Hard to call it a match, since it was basically 2 minutes of brawling. The ref is knocked down, and AJ tries to Clash D'Amore when he gets involved, but Petey hits AJ with the belt. Scott D'Amore wakes up the ref, and Petey hits the Canadian Destroyer for the win. In the back, Raven goes up to Larry and says he's tired of this, and he won't be kept from his title shot anymore. Larry says he won't get any shot, and Raven says he doesn't have the power to fire him, and Larry says he has the power to book him in any matches he wants though. He gives him a piece of paper and says he's not giving him any title shots, and this is a release form, and he can do them both a favor and sign it and he can just leave. Raven rips it up and attacks Larry, and security again takes him out. Match #3: Jeff Jarrett/America's Most Wanted w/ Gail Kim vs. Jeff Hardy/Chris Sabin/Lance Hoyt Well, Sabin did the best he could to guide his team. Heels were good here, especially AMW. They're really getting the hang of the whole heel deal, bumping around a lot to begin and then cheating to take over. They have some great stuff for control segs too. So this is fine for the 5 or so minutes it gets. Horrible finish, as Jarrett beats Sabin with The Stroke. Gotta protect Lance Hoyt, I guess. **1/4 They keep on the attack, but Rhino and Team 3D run out to make the save. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 11/3/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 TNA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 9/11/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY ![]() TNA GENESIS 2005 NOVEMBER 13TH, 2005 ORLANDO, FL A 10 bell salute to Eddie Guerrero opens the show. Raven is in the ring with Larry and security to open the show. Larry offers him a release form again, but he rips it up. Larry says he never got over Raven assaulting him 6 months ago, to be honest, and while he had nothing to do with what happened in Canada, HE LOVED IT BECAUSE NOW HE DOESN'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN THAT *THIS* IS HIS WORLD CHAMPION! Raven tries to get him, but security stops him and Larry brings out his opponent, PJ Polaco. Great. Son of a bitch. Match #1: Raven vs. Justin Credible Yeah, fuck that name. He's Justin Credible, okay? This was 5 minutes and sucked. Raven is getting faaaaaaaaaaat. Raven wins with the Evenflow. *3/4 Recap of all the 3LK stuff. Match #2: 3 Live Kru vs. Bobby Roode/Eric Young/A1 w/ Scott D'Amore [Hockey Stick Fight - Special Referee: Kip James] This was fine enough, I guess. Certainly not bad. Good work by Roode and Eric, once again. Killings has a good hot tag. The hockey sticks are finally acquired by both sides, but BG knocks Roode off the top with one, and then Konnan breaks one on A1's back and Kip counts the three. **1/4 Kip hugs BG and shakes hands with Truth. He offers his hand out to Konnan, and he shakes it. In the back, Shane interviews Abyss and Father James Mitchell. He admits that his weapon of mass destruction is not used to barbed wire, and maybe even fears it, but the best way to confront fear is to conquer it and to destroy it, and his monster will destroy Sabu tonight, barbed wire or not. CLICK. DOOMSDAY! Tenay and Don West talk about rumors of a new talent, AND CHRISTIAN COMES OUT! FUCK YEAH! Well, Christian Cage, I suppose. He said he came to TNA because he's tired of 20 minute promos that lead to nothing and people playing doctor instead of wrestling. He says he wasn't fired, he wasn't low balled, but he CHOSE to leave, and he CHOSE to come here! He said he's tired of being held back, and he meant what he said earlier this year when he said he would be a World Champion, and he's coming for the NWA Title! Scott D'Amore and Bobby Roode come out and they say it's great to have another Canadian here and they give him a Team Canada shirt, and they tell him to think about it for the rest of the night. Match #3: Jeff Hardy vs. Monty Brown [#1 Contender's Match] At least it was only 8 minutes. Jeff wasn't exactly trying hard here, but hey, fuck it. It's his last PPV match, we've basically reached the end! Monty wins with the Pounce. PERIOD. ** Hype video for Elimination X. Match #4: Christopher Daniels/Samoa Joe/Alex Shelley/Roderick Strong vs. Chris Sabin/Austin Aries/Sonjay Dutt/Matt Bentley [Elimination Match] This is wonderful. ALEX SHELLEY, THROWING UP DAT EMBASSY DIAMOND! YEAH! Good matwork early on, and the first 10-15 minutes is really where the three Gen Next guys shine. I mean, Joe and Daniels are always good, but the later parts are about them, and the GN trio mostly does the cool stuff in the first half. Strong is out first after Aries' Brainbuster and 450 Splash. Almost right after, Daniels rolls up Aries to even it up. Sabin starts to do some amazing amazing stuff now. Dutt gets in and Shelley eliminates him with the Border City Stretch! Bentley catches him getting up with the Superkick to eliminate him. Daniels gradually goes from trying to let Joe do all the work to actively tagging himself in to steal the glory, which is timed perfectly with Don West saying at this point, whoever looks the most impressive is probably next in line for a title shot. Joe eliminates Bentley with the Choke. Sabin does really well against both men for the final 3 or so minutes. Sabin and Joe match up amazingly again, and Joe and Daniels start to miscommunicate, leading to good nearfalls. Joe tries the Muscle Buster, but Bentley trips him and pulls him out. Joe wastes him, but Daniels gets in, and hits the Angel's Wings to win.***1/2 Joe and Daniels have words post-match about the end. Joe says it was his pin, but Daniels says they won, so it doesn't matter. Joe shakes his hand, AND THEN KILLS HIM WITH A LARIAT! YEAH! MUSCLE BUSTER! WOOOOOOOOO! He gets a chair, and DESTROYS him with a chair shot on the floor. Daniels is busted open, and Joe sets up the chair again. OLE OLE OLE OLE OLE! OLEEEEEEEEEEEEEE OLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! OLE OLE KICK FUCK YEAH! He rolls him in and hits ANOTHER Muscle Buster, this time on the chair! He keeps kneeing him in the head, AND AJ STYLES RUNS OUT WITH ANOTHER CHAIR TO SAVE! FUCK YEAH! Joe backs up and leaves, and he wipes Daniels' blood on his towel before leaving. EMTs and people come out, and Daniels is stretchered out. Fantastic angle, and one hell of a double turn. In the back, Jarrett and AMW talk about people jumping ship and says TNA won't get rid of the people who made this company. Jarrett says Christian is either with them or against him, and he can make his choice tonight. Match #5: Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Sabu [No DQ] Fun brawl, although not as good as the first match, for whatever reason. Sabu takes huge bumps. Only thing I outright hated was Abyss' hideous punches. Kind of sloppy at points, but more in that loveable Sabu kind of way. The thumbtacks actually don't get used on Abyss for once. I love that. I seriously love that. Abyss actually being able to use the tacks as a weapon is the equivalent of Kurt Angle getting someone to tap on the first Ankle Lock or using one Angle Slam to win. It's awesome and makes sense to get the stuff over as killer, but it's almost never done. Weird ending that doesn't get the barbed wire fear over very well. Sabu brings a barbed wire chair in, but Abyss quickly hits the Black Hole Slam onto it to win. **3/4 Hype video for AJ/Petey. Match #6: AJ Styles [c] vs. Petey Williams [TNA X Division Championship] This is good stuff. Another match where AJ carries Petey. Samoa Joe comes out to watch, with the towel covered in Daniels' blood. In a completely goddamned insane spot. Petey hits AJ with a German off the apron and AJ takes a disgusting back bump into the railing. Still goes on too long for a Petey match and his control seg is lackluster. But AJ was fucking great here. Great comeback and finishing run, and he wins with a Super Styles Clash. **3/4 Hype video for the main event. Mach #7: Jeff Jarrett/America's Most Wanted vs. Rhino/Team 3D [Street Fight] Enjoyable brawl. Not quite great, but enough entertaining stuff to be very good. They brawl everywhere, and go back inside. Storm gets hit with the 3D and the babyfaces win. **1/2 Jarrett hits Rhino with the guitar, and Team Canada comes out to attack Team 3D. Before they can do much, Christian Cage comes out! Everyone looks to see what he'll do, and he shakes D'Amore's hand! They all applaud for him, but he then hits the Unprettier! Team 3D fights with him, and Jarrett is put through a table with the 3D! Christian gets on the mic and says he's going to become NWA Champion, because that's how he rolls! NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 11/3/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 TNA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 9/11/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA Impact November 19th, 2005 Orlando, FL Match #1: Samoa Joe vs. Jerrelle Clark Joe has the towel with Daniels' blood once again. Usual amazing Joe showcase, and he wins with the Muscle Buster and The Choke. ** Joe has to be pulled off of the hold. In the back, AJ Styles is standing by, and he talks to Samoa Joe. He says in the X Division, there's an unwritten code of respect that no matter what, you don't try and permanently injure somebody, no matter how you feel about them, and it's a code of honor that Joe has no respect for (lol). He says Joe stepped over the line, and he's asked for Samoa Joe to get a title shot at Turning Point so he can end his undefeated streak and teach him some respect. At commentary, Don West announces Abyss vs. Sabu at Turning Point on 12/11 in a BARBED WIRE MASSACRE. Match #2: America's Most Wanted w/ Jeff Jarrett & Gail Kim vs. Sonny Siaki/Apolo Jarrett does commentary and he demands to know who his opponent is at Turning Point, and once again, Tenay knows nothing. Monty Brown won a #1 Contender's Match. This is really an open and shut case, right? How is this a mystery? This was a solid squash for AMW. Death Sentence beats Siaki. *3/4 Jarrett storms off and says he wants to know who his opponent is. AMW sets up a table and they spraypaint "3D" on it. Team 3D runs out and AMW bails out. Bubba gets on the mic and says they don't know the first thing about using a table, and they just talked to Larry, and at Turning Point, they're going to fight them in a Tables Match! In the back, 3LK talks. BG says maybe it's time for a change in the group, and he'll tell them more later. Konnan says he hates cliffhangers. Match #3: Rhino vs. Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell Well, this sucked. They do stuff and nothing really looks that great. Sabu shows up with a barbed wire chair, which freaks Abyss out for some reason considering he beat Sabu using one at Genesis. Anyways, Abyss turns into the Gore and Rhino wins. *1/2 In the back, Larry tells Jarrett that Rhino gets his title shot at Turning Point. Then why make Monty/Jeff a #1 Contender's Match? Christian Cage comes out, and he gets on the mic. He says he came to TNA because it's the hottest promotion in the world, the place to be, and he came here to get the damn respect that he deserves. He says he would be NWA World Heavyweight Champion soon enough, no matter who was champion, and Monty Brown comes out. He says he won a #1 Contender's Match, and it's bad enough Rhino gets to step in front of him, but Christian won't do it too. He says he's not up North anymore, and Christian cuts him off. He says Monty is afraid of losing his spot, and he should be, and they brawl. Monty hits the POOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE to end the show, which doesn't strike me as the best way to build up a new top face, given that Monty hasn't had momentum for about a year now. |

POOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE does it. *1/2 A video airs on 3LK. 3LK comes out and the change is adding Kip James to the group and making it the 4LK. Everyone is cool with it. Match #2: AJ Styles vs. Chris Sabin Really really fun face/face match. I always enjoy when #1 and #2 in WOTY rankings fight. This is only about 7 minutes and all, but still a lot of great stuff. Good Ace vs. secondary babyface type vibe, and some real cool counters. They keep talking about how this is how the X Division is supposed to be. CODE OF HONOR and shit. AJ wins with the Styles Clash. **3/4 In the parking lot, Larry again offered Raven a release, but he gave him the double bird and Larry booked him in a House of Fun match next week. In the back, Shane interviews Christian Cage. He says he's got a match with Monty Brown at Turning Point now, but Gail Kim and AMW come over. Gail says she jumped to TNA too, and it's the smart thing to do, but he then made a bad decision as to where his loyalties lie. Harris says payback's a bitch and Storm is all like, SORREH ABOUT YO DAMN LUCK. Match #3: Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell As this was a normal match, it fucking sucked. Sabu comes out with the barbed wire chair, and Abyss is distracted and Jeff hits a godawful schoolboy to win. *1/4 A video airs on Rhino. Trying real hard to make him sympathetic, but it's Rhino, you know? Who gives a shit? With Christian here, his spot has been usurped, and rightfully so. Match #4: Jeff Jarrett w/ Gail Kim vs. Kip James This sure happened. Jackie Gayda comes out at a point to yell at Jarrett and fight with Gail. This can't be good. Roode came out at the end, and he breaks a hockey stick on Kip's back and Jarrett hits The Stroke to win. *3/4 4LK and Team Canada end up brawling to end the show. |

Match #1: Chris Sabin vs. Alex Shelley vs. Austin Aries vs. Petey Williams w/ Scott D'Amore Really great spotfest. Shelley has started bringing a video camera to the ring with him, which leads to the closest thing to a legitimate singles push he'll have in TNA. Which is seriously fucking depressing, but also not surprising, given that around 2007/8, he just sort of settled for being a spot monkey. Petey mostly lets the awesome guys do work for 7 minutes. Shelley debuts the Skullfuck in TNA, Aries and Sabin have awesome spots, etc. Sabin beats Petey with the Cradle Shock. *** In the back, Terry interviews AMW. Harris says Team 3D should have stayed dead, because having another funeral after Turning Point is gonna feel real redundant. Match #2: Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Kenny King This is over in under a minute. Black Hole Slam. DOOMSDAY. 1/2* Another Rhino video airs. Jeff Jarrett comes out to the ring for an interview and complains about the horrible Rhino videos and says management is trying to rally the fans behind him. He blames them too for Gail Kim being mad at him and for Jackie Gayda coming in. Tenay asks why she slapped him and he says not to go there. Christian Cage comes out and says he was watching and like everyone else here, he fell asleep. He says Jeff Jarrett has been complaining about the same thing for the last 2 years and when he beats Monty Brown, he's coming for the belt. He challenges him to come to the ring and fight, and they do. Bobby Roode comes out to attack Christian ,and they brawl. Jackie Gayda then comes out and slaps Jeff again. In the back. BULLET BOB ARMSTRONG~ talked to 4LK and talked about how proud he is of all of them, and at Turning Point, they would show Team Canada the difference between a team and a family. Raven comes out to the ring for the match. Larry comes out and again offers him a release, but he refuses, so Larry says he'll be fighting all three Diamonds in the Rough tonight! Match #3: Raven vs. The Diamonds in the Rough [House of Fun Match] Raven's physical deterioration is speeding up. Cassidy Riley tries to help, but he is taken out. Raven gets thrown through a table on the floor, and they all stack on a pin for the win.*1/2 In the back, AJ Styles is walking, and Samoa Joe attacks him from behind! He knees him several times in the head before leaving, and he says he doesn't respect his code. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 11/3/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 TNA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles, Since 9/11/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY ![]() TNA TURNING POINT 2005 DECEMBER 11TH, 2005 ORLANDO, FL Match #1: Sabu vs. Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell [BARBED WIRE MASSACRE] Basically just NRBW with lots of barbed wire boards and weapons around the ring and floor. This was pretty great as a pure spectacle. Only 11 minutes, so they didn't go too long. Increasingly brutal spots as it goes on, and for once, TNA's barbed wire boards actually looked legitimate. Sabu took nasty bumps, but Abyss took some good ones at the end too. Abyss gets sandwiched between two barbed wire board, and Sabu legdrops the top board into his face and covers to win. ***1/4 4LK interview, I guess. Match #2: Alex Shelley/Roderick Strong vs. Austin Aries/Matt Bentley w/ Tracy Very good 8 minutes. Gen Next delivers again. Bentley holds it back a little bit, but still awesome Aries/Strong and Aries/Shelley exchanges. Bentley beats Strong with the Superkick. **3/4 Larry comes out, and he calls Raven to the ring. He comes out and he offers him a release again. He tells him to go to hell again, so Larry brings out Kanyon to fight him. This is horrible. This is all awful. You're not punishing Raven, you're punishing everyone else. Match #3: Raven vs. Chris K Hey, awful. Raven wins with the Evenflow after 5 minutes or so. *1/2 Hype video for 4LK/Canadians. In the back, Jeff Jarrett is asking people who the latest acquisition is, but nobody knows. Look, TNA. I like you. Not as much as summer 2005, but I like you the most I have (not counting summer) since the middle of 2003. But when you do something like this, you have to actually talk about there being an acquisition, because you're confusing the fuck out of everyone. Match #4: 4 Live Kru vs. Petey Williams/Bobby Roode/Eric Young/A1 w/ Scott D'Amore This was mediocre. More based around Kip and Konnan than anyone else. The best 3LK stuff is based around BG, who can still be decent when motivated, and Killings, who is awesome despite being saddled with these two for the last two and a half years. Eric and Roode were solid, but there wasn't a lot to work with. It broke down, AND KONNAN HITS KIP WITH A CHAIR BAH GAWD. Eric covers to win. ** Konnan hits BG too, and tells Truth to come with him. He walks off and Truth is very confused. Some kind of horrible hype video for the publicity match. Bobby Heenan comes out to do commentary, and this is likely his last great moment, as he steals the match by yelling at AJ to cheat more and turning on the faces because they're stupid. Tenay: Don will learn sooner or later, won't he? Heenan: No. Match #5: Chris Sabin/Sonjay Dutt/Dale Torborg w/ AJ Pierzynski vs. The Diamonds in the Rough The most offensive thing about this may be that it glorifies the Chicago White Sox. As long as the KISS Demon isn't in there, this is fine. Skipper almost breaks his neck on a flying snapmare spot. Heenan gives AJ a homeplate to use as a weapon and he hits Simon with it for the win. **1/4 In the back, Shane interview Christian. He says everyone can feel that Captain Charisma is about to become #1 Contender. He says he's going out on the Serengeti, and he's coming back with the carcass of an alpha male, because that's how he rolls. Match #6: Christian Cage vs. Monty Brown [#1 Contender's Match] This is enjoyable. Not quite great, since Christian is clearly adjusting to working face after being a heel for 5 years or so now. Hasn't quite developed the amazing uppercut punches that he had when he returned in 2009. But he still has a knack for cool looking spots and counters. He wins with the Unprettier. **3/4 Hype video for AMW/Team 3D. Match #7: America's Most Wanted vs. Team 3D [Tables Match] Thankfully, the belts are not on the line. And with no real limit now on how many steroids he can take, he's grown some disgustingly huge steroid tits. This is once again smartly kept at only 10 minutes. It's hardly great or anything, but it has decent stuff and I have no problem calling it average. In the real victory, TNA finally adapts to real table match rules, and Storm gets put through one with the 3D and the Dudz win. **1/2 Hype video for Joe/AJ. Match #8: AJ Styles [c] vs. Samoa Joe [TNA X Division Championship] This is more than likely the best TNA match ever. There's some matches that could unseat it, but it's doubtful. AJ comes in, looking like he has a game plan. Through the last six months, people have tried to duck and move and outlast Joe, but AJ tries to actually engage him here. Which, looking outside TNA and at Joe's career as a whole, is a hell of an idea. CM Punk got really far by letting Joe strike himself out, though he couldn't actually beat him. Aries finally dethroned Joe with a gameplan of rushing him. Shit makes sense. But AJ gets drawn in too close and doesn't back up soon enough and he spends like 70% of the match getting DESTROYED. Really really brutal Joe control seg. At least 5 or 6 strikes that made me cringe. They have incredible hope spots too. AJ finally comes back after the Flosbury Flop, and yeah. They build up that if AJ can overcome the size and lift him, he might have it, and he hits the Clash, BUT JOE KICKS OUT! YEAH! AJ looks lost now, almost psyched out. There's an argument that it got into his head, as he stupidly tries an O'Connor Roll, which puts him in position to be pulled back into The Choke, and Joe wins the belt. ****1/2 Joe keeps on the attack, BUT CHRISTOPHER DANIELS RUNS OUT TO SAVE! FUCK YEAH! Match #9: Jeff Jarrett [c] vs. Rhino [NWA World Heavyweight Championship] Putting this, a typical Jarrett brawl that nobody cares about at this point, after Joe/AJ. The crowd is out of it as a result, and after 3 years of this same match basically, a hot crowd is the difference between it being good and bad. This is also probably the reason that Jarrett was exposed hugely once the promotion left the Asylum, where he was actually capable of producing love and/or hate from the crowd. Anyways, Team Canada gets involved and Jarrett wins. **1/4 THE LIGHTS GO OUT! SCORPIO SYMBOL ON THE TRON YEAH! WOO! SPOTLIGHT DOWN IN THE RING AND A BASEBALL BAT IS THERE! AWESOME I THINK! NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 11/3/2005 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Samoa Joe, Since 12/11/2005 TNA Impact December 17th, 2005 Orlando, FL To open the show, Jeff Jarrett comes out to yell at Mike Tenay about Sting and says if TNA wants war, they've got a war! He leaves up the ramp, BUT THEN SOMETHING AWESOME HAPPENS! ![]() JOE AND JARRETT FACE OFF! JOE LOOKS AT THE NWA TITLE! Joe walks off, and Jarrett looks fucking terrified. That moment was so amazing that it made me second guess a lot of TNA booking for the btb, but then it would be goddamned retarded to wait until 2005 to bring in Samoa Joe. And in typical TNA fashion, they didn't capitalize on this nearly as much as they could. Match #1: Samoa Joe vs. Jay Lethal Awesome 4 minutes. Joe gives Jay a ton here, while also looking unstoppable. He eventually comes back and kills him with the Muscle Buster and The Choke. **1/2 In the back, Shane is with Konnan and Ron Killings. Konnan says Kip James was NOT part of the family, of the 3 Live Kru, and BG James doesn't get to decide who is. He says he was going to break them up regardless, and he just sped things up. Truth says they were family, and when they had problems, they talked about it. He says he's tired of being in the middle, and he's done with all of this. He walks off, and Konnan says he'll handle this. Match #2: Alex Shelley vs. Matt Bentley w/ Tracy Shannon Moore is in the crowd. Gross. This was great for 5 minutes though. Shelley's really growing a great psuedo-beard for the hipster filmmaker gimmick. Lots of great little stuff from Shelley in the control segment. Shelley gets a fancy lucha pin for the win. **3/4 In the back, Jarrett talks to AMW and says they need to find out who is with them or against them with this Sting thing. They just did this whole thing last summer. And in early 2004. God damnit. Gail Kim comes up and asks what the deal is with Jackie Gayda, and he refuses to talk about it and leaves. In the back, Shane interviews Abyss and Mitchell. Mitchell points out the scars on Abyss' arm and says his monster is ready to refocus his sights on the NWA Title again. Coach Scott D'Amore comes over and says maybe that can wait, because he has a business proposal to speak with them about. Match #3: Rhino vs. Jobber Quick squash. 1/2* Rhino gets on the mic and he says he's going to go through all of Team Canada to get Scott D'Amore. In the back, Jarrett gets the Diamonds in the Rough on his side. Match #4: Team 3D vs. Elix Skipper/David Young w/ Simon Diamond One of the Hebners was on the stage taking notes. This was decent enough. Skipper and Young work well as a tag team and get the best out of Team 3D for a 5-6 minute showcase match. 3D gets the win. ** To end the show, Planet Jarrett of Jeff, AMW, Gail, Abyss, Mitchell, and Team Canada is in the ring. They all say they're with him, and he calls out Monty Brown for a decision. He says he doesn't like Jeff and he's a scumbag, a cheat, and a liar, but he's tired of these invaders leapfrogging over him when it comes to title shots, so he's with him tonight. The Sting music plays again and the scorpion logo is on the tron. Christian, Rhino, and Team 3D all then come out on the stage and the show ends. TNA's recent game of making the top face look like a secondary face by the time he gets to the Jarrett feud (Rhino -> Christian -> Sting) is pretty entertaining, if nothing else. |

Joe wastes him, but Daniels gets in, and hits the Angel's Wings to win.
