NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Christian Cage, Since 2/12/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Samoa Joe, Since 4/13/2006 TNA LOCKDOWN 2006 APRIL 23RD, 2006 ORLANDO, FL Match #1: Black Tiger IV/Minoru Tanaka/Hirooki Goto vs. Alex Shelley/Jay Lethal/Sonjay Dutt Team Japan vs. Team USA, in another X Cup preview. Team Japan is all part of Jushin Liger's CTU group. CTU being CONTROL TERRORISM UNIT. Jushin Liger took it upon himself to create a counter terrorism unit for pro wrestling. Tanaka is a good kicky type guy, Goto will eventually become awesome around 2007/8, and Tiger is Rocky Romero under a mask, and he's still good. This gets like 12 minutes, so they have a great match. Shelley vs. Romero is fun for a match that never really happened before. Goto vs. Lethal has a great mat exchange. Awesome finishing run. Shelley accidentally Superkicks Dutt, and Romero beats Lethal with the Tiger Suplex. *** In the back, JB interviews Team 3D. Runt randomly hates on WWE and is annoying as shit, and Bubba says it's about pride tonight, and promises that their anthem will be played tonight. Daniels comes out for his match, and since Liger is not making it to the show, and the mystery opponent is FUCKING LOW KI! FUCK YEAH! SHIT YES! HIS NAME IS SENSHI, BUT COME ON. IT'S FUCKING LOW KI! Match #2: Christopher Daniels vs. Senshi Awesome match. Goal here is re-establishing Ki as a violent son of a bitch while also being more of a prick now, and they do a great job of that. Not a ton of depth here, just two great wrestlers having a formula match. I liked that due to how brutal Ki's offense was, Daniels went immediately for his big offensive moves once he had a shot. Ki goes the bridging counter to the Angel's Wings and puts his feet on the ropes to win. Finish didn't fit the match, but it was still great. *** Arm Wrestling match happened. Bob won, and as a result of a stip, he got to give Konnan 10 lashes with a strap. Moving on, please. It is announced that Planet Jarrett won the coin toss. Match #3: Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams vs. Puma vs. Elix Skipper vs. Shark Boy vs. Chase Stevens [Xcape Match] This was decent enough. Stipulation is still stupid, but the work was fine. Comes down to Sabin and Petey, and Sabin escapes to win, thankfully. **1/2 In the back, Father James Mitchell cuts a promo. He gives the famous Nietzche quote about staring into the Abyss, and says this Abyss has turned Christian Cage into an emotional biohazard, and he's going to try to play their game tonight. He says a changing of the guard is in order tonight, and again guarantees that Abyss will leave the cage holding the title belt. Match #4: Samoa Joe [c] vs. Sabu [TNA X Division Championship] Sabu has a hurt arm and this was only 6 minutes as a result, but it was still pretty damn amazing for 6 minutes. Lots of great Sabu moments, as well as great Joe moments. Sabu is one of those guys who I'll watch against almost anyone on the basis that it's a Sabu match. Samoa Joe in 04-07 is that way too. It's a rare class of wrestler that provokes that kind of response in me. Doesn't make someone an all time great or favorite, but it's a rare thing. I'd only put Joe, Sabu, Necro Butcher, Benoit, Fit Finlay, and Super Dragon on that level, for guys wrestling in the 2000s. So when two of those guys meet, it's always great. Sometimes it's one of the greatest matches ever (Joe/Necro, Necro/Super Dragon, Finlay/Benoit), sometimes it's just really fucking great (Joe/Super Dragon), but when it's only six minutes and with an injured Sabu, there's only so much they can do. THAT ALL BEING SAID, THIS FUCKING RULED. RUUUUUUUUUULED. There's a great little story early on where neither man seems like they can get caught in the other's game. Joe keeps tossing the chair away from Sabu and throwing strikes, and Sabu keeps trying to avoid Joe and use the chair. Both have some success. They use the cage for once too. Joe goes to the arm when threatened. Joe cuts off a triple jump something with a chair throw, and hits the Muscle Buster to win. Disappointing, while still being great. *** Hype video for the Anthem Match. Match #5: Team 3D/Brother Runt vs. Bobby Roode/Eric Young/A1 w/ Scott D'Amore [Flag/Anthem Match] Talk about bringing a great show to a grinding fucking halt. I am so much less excited for this now that Runt and A1 are in. I wasn't super excited for it, but I could at least hope for a focus on Eric and Roode or something. At least it was only 8 minutes though. This was all chaos and no focus on any kind of tag format, so that took away the one thing that might make this not horrible. Team 3D wins. *3/4 Hype for Abyss/Christian. Christy Hemme comes out with an envelope, and Tenay reads an announcement from the TNA office. He says TNA Management is going through a review of all office personal, and everybody will be under review He says a high profile individual has been signed as the public face of TNA Management. His first act is that Larry has been put on probation. Larry comes out and yells at Tenay about how he stabbed him in the back after he tutored him on how to announce. Worst decision Larry ever made. Tenay says it also says that Raven has been re-signed! Necessary step, but shame Raven has become awful before the blowoff. Match #6: Christian Cage [c] vs. Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell [NWA World Heavyweight Championship] This is sort of a lesser version of AJ/Abyss from last year. Which is less their fault and more a statement on how great AJ/Abyss was, and how Abyss is really only good when working that kind of a formula. Christian was less willing to actually die on some of the early bumps like AJ was, despite his rhetoric before the match. Picks up a lot when they get into the cage after the floor brawl. While not AJ, Christian does still takes big bumps. Abyss kicks out of too much, including the Sunset Bomb onto the thumbtacks, and a Frog Splash off the top of the cage, before the Unprettier on the tacks gets the win. **3/4 Christian brings Mitchell in, but Abyss gets the chain, and he chokes out Christian again. And Abyss leaves the ring with the belt, as Mitchell promised. Hype video for the main event. Match #7: Sting/AJ Styles/Ron Killings/Rhino vs. Jeff Jarrett/Scott Steiner/America's Most Wanted [Lethal Lockdown] AJ and Storm start for 5 minutes, and that's a great match up. Order of entry is: Harris, Rhino, Jarrett, Truth, Steiner, and Sting comes in last. AJ is amazing in War Games. The energy of Sting at his peak (the Stinger Splashes into the cage are especially Stingesque) with the insane bumping of...well, AJ Styles. There's not really a guy who was known for taking totally retardedly fantastic bumps in irl War Games matches. Nobody told goddamn Earl Hebner that pins don't count until anyone is in. Earl is THE WORST. Everyone bleeds, basically. Rhino even takes some nice cage bumps. All of Planet Jarrett look great on offense. Only thing I really have an issue with is a tower of doom spot. Steiner absolutely murders everyone when he gets in and responds to heckling with the classic "NO YOUR MOTHER SUCKS". The roof comes down and there's a little bit of an opening, so AJ chases Storm up top. He puts Storm on a table, sets up a ladder on the super shaky roof, AND HITS A FUCKING SPLASH TO STORM THROUGH THE TABLE! JESUS CHRIST! Sting makes Harris tap to the Scorpion Deathlock. *** |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Christian Cage, Since 2/12/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Samoa Joe, Since 4/13/2006 TNA Impact April 27th, 2006 Orlando, FL Abyss and Father James Mitchell come out with the NWA Title to open the show, and Mitchell says that the way he sees it, with possession being 9/10ths of the law, he is standing next to the new World Heavyweight Champion! He calls out someone or anyone to try and take the title away from him, and Rhino comes out. GOD DAMNIT NO. Match #1: Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Rhino They try to work a real match, and it is HORRIBLE. Luckily, it's only 3 minutes before Roode comes out and hits Rhino with the Northern Lariat. CLICK. DOOMSDAY! Abyss then hits the Black Hole Slam to win. 3/4* Christian runs out now, and he attacks Abyss. He drives him from the ring, but Mitchell runs to the back with the title belt. Chistian gets on the mic, and he challenges Abyss to bring his belt to Sacrifice because nobody wants to see an ogre like Shrek with the World Title (FUCK YOU, ANDY!), to hang it above the ring, and to fight him in a Full Metal Mayhem Match! In the back, Steiner and Jarrett are with JB, and Jeff challenges Sting to find a partner and to fight them at Sacrifice. Larry comes over and says Sting wants to talk to him in the ring later. PAPARAZZI PRODUCTIONS: Alex Shelley is at a hotel door and he says he's been given a huge interview request, and he knocks on the door. AND KEVIN NASH ANSWERS AND INVITES HIM IN! I AM SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO FUCKING EXCITED! WORLD X CUP RULES: -1st Round is tag team matches worth 2 points each -2nd Round is singles matches worth 3 points each -3rd Round is a Gauntlet For The Gold, to be held at Sacrifice. The two final men each get 2 points, and the winner gets an additional 3. -In the event of a tie, the captains of the tied teams will have a singles match Match #2: Alex Shelley/Sonjay Dutt vs. Minoru Tanaka/Hirooki Goto [World X Cup - 1st Round] Good stuff here. Not great, due to Shelley disappointingly blowing off the work by Team Japan on his leg, but they did everything I'd expect from a World X Cup match. Lots of cool spots, basically. Shelley hits Goto with the Sliced Bread #2, and then Dutt hits a sloppy Standing SSP to win. **1/2 In the back, JB is with AJ and Daniels in the back, They say they've agreed to put aside their differences and says that as great as they are as opponents, they think they'll make even better partners, and they're officially challenging AMW for the Tag Titles at Sacrifice, because it's time for a change! JB was making stupid faces here. Can't believe I miss Shane Douglas as interviewer. Match #3: Samoa Joe [c] vs. Jay Lethal [TNA X Division Championship] Really good match. Joe's typically brutal and amazing control segment got butchered by a commercial, so that kind of hurt this, given that the point of Joe vs. Underdog matches is showing how brutal Joe gets when he's in control, making their fiery comebacks that much more impressive. It's still Joe vs. Lethal and they work together brilliantly, but it's not on the level of their longer two matches because of this. Great Lethal comeback, before Joe shuts it down with the Muscle Buster and the Choke for the win. *** Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner WALK~ in the back, and they bump into Samoa Joe. Both men glare at him, but he shoves them out of his way and walks off. Coming back, they are in the ring, and they call out Sting to accept the challenge for Sacrifice. Sting comes onto the stage, and he says he accepts, and he has two potential partners behind Door #1 and #2, and Jarrett can pick which one he chooses. He says if he doesn't want to pick, he'll bring two more potential partners next week. Jarrett refuses to pick, so Sting brings out the two men who could have been his partners, Buff Bagwell and Lex Luger. Oh my god, thank you for not picking, Jeff Jarrett. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Christian Cage, Since 2/12/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Samoa Joe, Since 4/13/2006 TNA Impact May 4th, 2006 Orlando, FL Match #1: America's Most Wanted [c] w/ Gail Kim vs. AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels [NWA World Tag Team Championship] AJ and Daniels can never win the belts until they learn to color coordinate their fucking gear. Still, amazing match for only like 7 minutes. It's a damn shame that this is the last great AMW feud, as for the first time in a year and half, they seem to have a tag team that's actually on their level. When they worked face against The Naturals, it worked, but when the Nattys turned face too, it wasn't there. AMW turned heel again and were revitalized, but the last pair of AMW/Nattys matches clearly had AMW doing most of the work. Here, everything just gels so perfectly. I'd say it's a mix of a great heel and face team that only comes along every so often, but in 2006, you had that with Londrick/MNM and Cape Fear/Arrogance and arguably Aries & Strong/Briscoes as well. Anyways, yeah, great formula tag. You have AMW's mind for creative tag formula usage with AJ and Daniels' minds for crazy counters. Great preview for their PPV matches. AJ goes for the Clash on Gail when she interferes, but Storm hits him with a Superkick as he does so for the win. *** Video on Senshi airs. Match #2: Shocker/Magno vs. Eric Young/Johnny Devine w/ Scott D'Amore [World X Cup - Round One] Shelley comes out to tape the match. This is not as good as last week's tag, due to Eric Young being the only good wrestler in this. But oh well. Devine gets distracted by Shelley getting closer and Shocker rolls him up to win. *1/2 TEAM USA: 2 TEAM MEXICO: 2 TEAM CANADA: 0 TEAM JAPAN: 0 Larry comes out to the announce table, and he announces an AMW vs. AJ/Daniels rematch for Sacrifice, and bans Gail Kim from ringside. Raven then comes out and chases him to the back. Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner come out and they call Sting out. Sting says he has one more choice for them, and Steiner says they should take the deal. Jarrett says it's a trick, and they're passing. Sting brings out the guy who could have been his partner, and it's Rick Steiner! Jarrett once again comes through there. Sting says it's no longer up to them, and now he's going to have one hell of a partner at Sacrifice. PAPARAZZI PRODUCTIONS - THE KEVIN NASH INTERVIEW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fob4r2N-upg -Nash says he had a health scare, but his phone hasn't been ringing since then, despite all these other guys coming back -Nash says they are beneath his stature too -He shows a graph that shows he was the highest drawing WWF Champion of all time, drawing over 100 billion dollars in 1995. For reference, the graph shows Hogan at 20 bil in 1993 and Austin at 80 bil in 1998. -He says the graph is also misleading, because while the Austin and Rock run drew okay, he took his spike to WCW and the NWO run made roughly 300 billion dollars, with him at the helm -He says the X Division guys go out and have good little matches with good little guys, and fades out after he says "it's basically filler"... -TO BE CONTINUED Match #3: Christian Cage vs. Alex Shelley Christian's theme has really grown on me. This gets like 10 minutes, and is Cage's best TNA match yet. Not quite great though. Christian is still rusty as a face. He's using some sloppy and weak elbows as his main strike instead of the brutal uppercuts he'd have developed by 2009. Shelley's control seg was great, but not nearly long enough. Christian easily wins with the Unprettier. ![]() **3/4 |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Christian Cage, Since 2/12/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Samoa Joe, Since 4/13/2006 TNA Impact May 11th, 2006 Orlando, FL Team 3D comes out to open the show, unfortunately not being gone forever after two episodes off. Bubba says he doesn't get how Daniels and AJ deserve a title shot, and says they haven't proven anything as a team. The James Gang comes out and says they feel the same way, and they want a title shot. Kip says they never beat them, and Bubba says they beat them in February 2000 for a set of tag titles. Kip says he had a bad arm and that doesn't count, and they agree to a probably horrible tag match at the PPV. Match #1: Chris Sabin vs. Puma w/ Shocker [World X Cup - 2nd Round] This was really fantastic. Best match of the actual tournament yet. They announce Liger vs. Petey in the other singles match for Sacrifice, as well as the Gauntlet. Lots of cool counters and spots for 5 or so minutes. Sabin hits the Cradle Shock to win. **3/4 TEAM USA: 5 TEAM MEXICO: 2 TEAM CANADA: 0 TEAM JAPAN: 0 In the back, JB interviews AMW and Team Canada. Storm is drunk. Larry comes up and wants help with his Raven problem, since he'll be coming after everyone involved with what happened in Canada. Scott gives him A1, and they book Raven vs. A1 at the PPV, since this episode is basically a reverse hype show. Gail orders Jackie to get coffee. PAPARAZZI PRODUCTIONS - THE KEVIN NASH INTERVIEW, PART II: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZKqZNJhpLc -Nash says he chose Shelley so this will air -He says he has until October 07 on this contract, and he wants it honored, so he'll have to shake things up -He says if TNA won't use him, he'll go after TNA's pride and joy, the X Division, and if he destroys TNA's identity, he becomes the identity of TNA, which means the most money, so he'll get an even bigger contract -He says he could beat all the X Division guys at once on every night of the week -Nash asks what the X Division motto is and Shelley tells him, and Nash says he should have taken credit for that, and tells him to steal credit for anything possible -Nash says he wants to see them back up that motto In the back, Team USA is watching and they yell at Shelley. He says the camera missed him defending them and he says Nash is gonna be there Sunday. Match #2: Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Chase Stevens SQUASH. 3/4* Hype video for Christian/Abyss. Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner come out, and they demand to know who Sting's partner is. He comes out with Luger, Steiner, and Bagwell, and says it won't be any of these men. Jarrett says it's gotta be somebody else from the past then, and lists of Hogan, Nash, Hall, and Savage. Sting shakes his head as he gets in the ring, AND SAMOA JOE COMES OUT AND STING SAYS THIS IS HIS PARTNER! AMAZING! Match #3: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels/Rhino vs. America's Most Wanted/Bobby Roode w/ Gail Kim & Scott D'Amore You'll never believe this, but both the AMW and Roode/Storm pairings had great chemistry! Too much Rhino for this to be great, unfortunately. Like, this was 7 minutes, and he was in for 5. Lame lame lame lame. They have a nice bit of AJ and Daniels at the end, but Rhino gets back in. Jackie comes out and throws coffee in Storm's face and rhino wins with the Gore. **1/2 |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Christian Cage, Since 2/12/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Samoa Joe, Since 4/13/2006 TNA Sacrifice 2006 May 14th, 2006 Orlando, FL Match #1: Jushin Liger vs. Petey Williams w/ Scott D'Amore [World X Cup - 2nd Round] This, unlike Liger/Joe, was probably better served only being 7 minutes. Petey sucks, but Liger has enough awesome stuff to carry him. Liger does all his awesome SHOTEIs and has a few awesome Back Sentons too. He wins with a Waffle Face. **1/2 TEAM USA: 5 TEAM JAPAN: 3 TEAM MEXICO: 2 TEAM CANADA: 0 In the back, JB interviews AMW. Jackie Gayda is crying, but they tell her to shut up. Harris says he's sick of TNA throwing every makeshift tag team that just MIGHT work at them to try and take the belts off of them. Gail asks why Jackie is crazy lately, and she says she's pregnant. So they fire her. WONDERFUL. Match #2: America's Most Wanted [c] vs. AJ Styles/Christipher Daniels [NWA World Tag Team Championship] This was really great. Best tag title match since Canada/AMW in early 2005. Great control seg by AMW, awesome hot tag by AJ. Really really fantastic finishing run. Lots of amazing nearfalls and AJ had a completely insane and beautiful Springboard Flying Forearm from the ring to Storm in the crowd. The ref was occupied on the floor, AND A NIGHTSTICK FALLS INTO THE RING! GAIL KIM IS UP IN THE RAFTERS ABOVE THE RING! AMAZING! AJ hits Storm with the Styles Clash, but Harris hits him with the nightstick, and rolls Storm on top for the win. ***1/4 In the back, JB talks to Larry and he says all his problems are Raven's fault. Slick Johnson comes out and says there's a huge announcement announced for Slammiversary. Match #3: Raven vs. A1 w/ Larry Zbyszko Awful awful 5 minutes. Raven now has gross blond and greenish hair, like he spent 5 hours underwater in a public pool. He's also now very fat and in too tight shorts and vinyl skirts. Just a bad look all around. Raven wins. * Larry gets in post-match, and he tries to shake Raven's hand, but they have a horrible brawl. In the back, JB interviews Jarrett and Stener. Jarrett says Sting didn't pick any of the men he teased because they can't handle TNA, and he chose Samoa Joe out of desperation. He says Samoa Joe is great, but he can't be trusted, and he's destroyed everybody in his way, foe or friend, and he'll turn on Sting tonight too. Match #4: Rhino vs. Bobby Roode w/ Scott D'Amore Well, this got 12 minutes, but at least this wasn't Rhino/Abyss. Rhino is once again completely awful singles matches without gimmicks and over 10 minutes, as he has been since his neck injury in 2001. Roode's control seg was at least something. D'Amore intercepted the Gore to save Roode, and it allowed Roode to hit the Northern Lariat for the win. **1/4 Horrible promo from Team 3D. Match #5: Team 3D vs. The James Gang Why is this a thing? This is an issue of both teams having outlived their usefulness to TNA and they're justifying the existence of both teams on the roster by having them against each other. They tried to work like a face/face normal technical match. Bubba's just wearing jeans and a 2XL TNA shirt, given up on anything resembling gear or exercise. The first 3-4 minutes of BG and Bubba challenging each other to do arm drags and dropkicks were good for comedy, but then it became a real match and kind of sucked. At the end, BG hits D-Von with a lead pipe for the win, in payback for No Way Out 2000. Actually, it should have been Kip hitting Bubba in the arm, but hey. It's TNA, they get points for coming close. *3/4 SLAMMIVERSARY: JUNE 18TH! Match #6: World X Cup Gauntlet -The two final men each get 2 points for their team, and the winner gets 3 extra points -If the final two men are on the same team, that team gets 7 points and probably wins the tournament -#1 is Minoru Tanaka -#2 is Puma -They have some great exchanges -#3 is Petey Williams -God damnit -#4 is Chris Sabin -#5 is Hirooki Goto -Apart from Petey, nobody sucks in here right now -#6 is that faggot Incognito -He gives a shit here though, so he's good -#7 is Johnny Devine -#8 is Sonjay Dutt -I assume Magno or Shocker is next to complete the awful trifecta -#9 is Black Tiger Rocky Romero -Finally, someone good again -#10 is Magno -God damnit -He botches every spot he tries -#11 is Eric Young -FUCK YEAH ERIC YOUNG TAKING INSANE BUMPS -Sonjay and Incognito eliminate each other and Dutt hurts his ankle -Oh well -#12 is Alex Shelley -Devine tosses Sabin, but then Shelley does God's work (which makes sense, since God did loan him talent) by eliminating Devine -#13 is Jushin Liger -Liger rules everything -LIGER VS. SHELLEY IS AMAZING -#14 is Shocker -Fuck you, Shocker -Liger tosses fucking Magno out -Shelley carries Shocker again -#15 is Tyson Dux -Shocker eliminates Romero -Shelley kicks Goto off the apron -#16 is Jay Lethal -Lethal tosses Minoru -Shelley eliminates Shocker -THANK YOU, ALEX SHELLEY -Team Canada still has three guys, so they finally work together -They toss Liger, and Team Japan is all out -Lethal throws out Young -Shelley throws out Dux, but at the same time, Petey tosses Lethal -Shelley, Petey, and Puma are left -Horribly, Petey ruins the hopes of a Shelley/Puma final -Petey vs. Puma is in the finals -Petey wins with the Destroyer **3/4 TEAM USA: 5 POINTS TEAM CANADA: 5 POINTS TEAM MEXICO: 4 POINTS TEAM JAPAN: 3 POINTS It is announced that a tiebreaker between Sabin and Petey will happen on Impact. God damnit. Kevin Nash then comes out and hits Puma with the Jackknife! He says a mediocre big man will always beat even the best smaller man, and he leaves with Shelley. Hype video for the tag. Match #7: Sting/Samoa Joe vs. Jeff Jarrett/Scott Steiner w/ Gail Kim The next step in a successful undefeated streak is after months of dominance, presenting someone who is an actual threat, of the same size and strength as the monster, possibly more experienced too. Steiner is that person for Joe, and they do a great job in this match of making that into an issue. The Sting and Jarrett stuff is acceptable, but Joe and Steiner make this awesome when they're in. Too much of Jarrett/Sting though. Joe ends up beating Jarrett with the Muscle Buster. **3/4 Sting offers his hand, and Joe shakes it before leaving. Joe is gone, and Jarrett and Steiner attack Sting before Rhino, Daniels, and the James Gang run out to save. Hype video for the main event. Match #8: Christian Cage [c] vs. Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell [NWA World Heavyweight Championship - Full Metal Mayhem] Basically just a TLC match. This would have been quite great if it was like 15 minutes or so, but it gets 26 goddamn minutes instead. As a result, about half of the match is filler and horrible Abyss punches in between some decent spots. Christian wins. **1/2 |

Jarrett, Rhino, Monty, Steiner, Sting, Raven, Abyss, and Truth. Whatever. I guess Jarrett, Steiner, Sting, and Truth is the least offensive four men to be chosen for KOTM. Larry comes out and says there'll be four qualifying matches drawn randomly, beginning tonight. At the Spanish commentary table, Homicide and Hernandez are hanging out on strike, refusing to work. And they have signs saying "SPANISH ONLY" and "NO ENTRE" Match #1: Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams [World X Cup Finals] All members of both teams are announced as being barred from ringside. They have their usual match, with Petey not sucking as much as usual with Sabin around to cover for him. In the back, NASH SHOWS UP AND KO'S A GUARD WITH A NERVE HOLD. Sabin wins with the Cradle Shock. **1/2 Nash comes out, and he hits Sabin with the Jackknife, and he says size matters. Scott Steiner comes out to commentary, and he yells that he wants Sting. AND SAMOA JOE COMES OUT FOR HIS MATCH AND STARES DOWN STEINER! Match #2: Samoa Joe vs. Chase Stevens Awesome squash by Joe. Choke ends it. ** Shane Douglas is watching on the ramp. Final Naturals push forthcoming. In the back, JB interviews Team 3D. They say extreme times call for extreme measures, and extreme seems to be the flavor of the month lately. He says you can't revive something when the heart and soul is in TNA. Weird, Tommy doesn't come in until like 2010. Bubba challenges the James Gang to a rematch at Slammiversary to find out who the greatest team is. Match #3: Abyss vs. Rhino [KOTM Qualifying Match] SON OF A BITCH THIS WAS HORRIBLE AGAIN. D'amore interferes and Abyss wins. Motherfuck. GAY AIDS NASTY NASTY |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Christian Cage, Since 2/12/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Samoa Joe, Since 4/13/2006 TNA Impact May 25th, 2006 Orlando, FL Match #1: Senshi vs. Alex Shelley vs. Jay Lethal vs. Shark Boy Good spotfest to open a show. Don West randomly starts talking about X-Men 3, which was a pretty huge disappointment. Ki and Shelley and Lethal are all great wrestlers, so they did a hell of a job carrying this for the 6 minutes or so that it went. Senshi beats Shark Boy after the Warrior's Way. **3/4 Nash comes out again, and he gets Lethal with the Jackknife Powerbomb! He again says that size matters, and the X Division has nothing on him. In the back, JB interviews Sting. He says he hopes he's up tonight, because he was born ready, and he can't wait to get the cancer out of TNA and to bring them into the future. He says the main reason he wants in KOTM is to make sure Jeff Jarrett doesn't win the title again. A video airs on the KOTM rules. Video airs of the end of AJ/Daniels vs. AMW at Sacrifice. Match #2: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels vs. Elix Skipper/David Young w/ Simon Diamond Good showcase for AJ/Daniels. Great looking offense by both, and they have some awesome double teams too. Elix and David continue to be a perfect undercard team. AJ and Daniels hit a BME and Frog Splash in succession, but AMW come out. They pull Daniels out and Harris hits AJ with the nightstick, and David gets pulled on top to win. ** Horrible promo by the James Gang mocking Team 3D. Match #3: Robert Roode w/ Scott D'Amore vs. Chase Stevens Solid Roode squash. *1/2 Andy Douglas comes out to save his partner at the end, and the rest of Team Canada comes out to attacj them. Rhino comes out to save, and he says he has Roode and D'Amore at Slammiversary in a handicap match. Shane Douglas is again watching from the stage. Christian Cage comes out to do commentary. Match #4: Ron Killings vs. Monty Brown [KOTM Qualifying Match] Not a bad match, and leagues better than Rhino/Abyss. They work well opposite each other for 5 or so minutes, and Truth dodges the Pounce and turns that into a schoolboy for the win. **1/4 |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Christian Cage, Since 2/12/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Samoa Joe, Since 4/13/2006 TNA Impact June 1st, 2006 Orlando, FL Jeff Jarrett comes out and demands to know who he's fighting and when. Steiner comes out too, and they both harass Tenay about it. They get in the ring and say the show is now stopped until they get answers from Larry. Sting comes out with the bat, and he clears the ring. He fights off Steiner and Jarrett bails. BUT RAVEN COMES OUT AND THROWS JARRETT BACK IN! YEAH! Sting and Raven chase off the heels. Then Raven clearly DDTs Sting, recruits Steiner and the old NWO guys into the Flock, and they take a time portal back to 2000 in an alternate universe WCW. LAX still occupies the Spanish Announce area. Match #1: America's Most Wanted w/ Gail Kim vs. The Naturals This was great! They seem to have found their old chemistry. Really underrated pairing, due to how much the Naturals suck with most other teams. I think if I made a best tag team feuds/rivalries of the 2000s, this has a shot at being #9 or #10. They only get like 6 minutes, but it was really awesome for that time. Gail tries to use the nightstick, but AJ and Daniels come out to stop her. AJ throws the stick to the Naturals, but they refuse to use it, and Harris hits one of them with the handcuffs to win. Shane Douglas watches and is disappointed. **3/4 Match #2: Alex Shelley w/ Kevin Nash vs. Jay Lethal This was also great! These two work SO fucking well together. Only 3 minutes, unfortunately, but all of it ruled. Shelley accidentally is sent into Nash on the apron and Lethal rolls him up to win. ** Shelley and Nash attack him post-match, but Chris Sabin runs out to save! Nash leaves, and Sabin fights off Shelley. Sabin gets on the mic and he challenges Nash to a match at Slammiversary to prove that like Nash's wife always tells him, size doesn't matter. In a pretape, Samoa Joe talks about recent events. He says he accepted Sting's offer because it was an opportunity at the main event, and he delivered. He said he had Sting's back from bell to bell, so he was done after the match. He says he's not afraid of Scott Steiner, and he thinks Scotty knows it. He says he can't wait until Scotty steps up and wants a piece of him one on one, but Scott won't risk his reputation on a match where he'll smack him around and take it from him. Horrible Team 3D promo challenging the James Gang to a BINGO HALL BRAWL~ at Slammiversary, and says they were jealous that they were never a part of making that place important. AJ/Daniels vs. AMW for the belts is announced for Slammiversary. Match #3: Raven vs. Jeff Jarrett w/ Gail Kim [KOTM Qualifying Match] YES! FINALLY! This is the swan song Raven deserves (you can argue Raven/Tommy from TNA 2010 is a great swan song for him too, but that's years after his TNA run is over), despite it being about 8-0 months after he stopped being any good. He's hardly good here, but Jeff puts on his best performance in years here. Lots of huge bumps, great crowd brawl, etc. Larry gets involved at the end and Jarrett wins with The Stroke. On some level, I'm upset Jarrett won both of their televised matches, but Raven going over Jarrett in 2006 would be ridiculous. they should have had a rematch some time between 2003-5, but then again, TNA is the land of botched opportunities. **3/4 |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Christian Cage, Since 2/12/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Samoa Joe, Since 4/13/2006 TNA Impact June 15th, 2006 Orlando, FL Christian comes out to talk about all his opponents at KOTM, and is not a great babyface promo here. When he mentions Sting, Sting comes out. He says he only wants in this match to make sure Jeff Jarrett doesn't somehow come out with the title again. Christian doubts him and says he can admit he wants the title, and expects him to want the title, everyone does. Sting denies it, and Christian doesn't believe him, and says they'll see at Slammiversary. In the back, JB is with Shelley and Nash. Shelley says he got a Chris Sabin clone, but he was really ugly, so he put a mask on him. In the back, Jeff Jarrett is freaking about finding out who the new face of TNA Management is at Slammiversary, and he fears for his job. LAX now has an actual border around the Spanish Announce area. Match #1: The Naturals vs. Elix Skipper/David Young w/ Simon Diamond Decent stuff for the 3-4 minutes that it got. Simon hits Chase with a chain and David covers to win. *3/4 The Naturals chase them off, but they accidentally go past the LAX border. Homicide and Hernandez attack them, and they throw them back over the railing to ringside. Konnan gets on the mic and says this is Latinos only, and no gringos are allowed. Shane Douglas then comes out as the Naturals gets up and yells at them for wasting all the lessons that Chris Candido taught them. He says he wants to help them, and asks if they want a manager. They say yes, and he says they have to do everything asked of them, and with Chris watching over them, he's going to take them back to the top of TNA. An amazing pre-tape airs on the Joe/Steiner match at the PPV. Steiner calls Joe a freaking half-breed. Joe puts Steiner over well, highlighting that he's won all the belts and has a great record and experience, but he's still going to get choked out. Steiner flexes and says that's a vein, something that Samoa Joe doesn't have because he's FAT. Joe says he's going to bust him up and his experience and his suplexes and his muscles won't mean anything. BECAUSE HE IS SAMOA JOE, AND HE IS PRO WRESTLING. FINALLY, HE FINALLY SAYS IT! YES! Match #2: Kevin Nash w/ Alex Shelley vs. Mr. X Mr. X is a midget. This is Nash vs. a midget, so it's incredible. Tenay yells at Don West for laughing at KEVIN NASH VS. A MIDGET. Fuck you, Tenay. 5 BILLION STARS Highlights air of TNA's house show at the New Alhambra Arena. Match #3: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels/Raven/Rhino vs. America's Most Wanted/Bobby Roode/Monty Brown w/ Gail Kim Decent enough. Needed less of people who weren't AJ, Daniels, AMW, and Roode, but they can't all be perfect. Gail low blows Daniels and Monty hits the Pounce to win. **1/4 |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Christian Cage, Since 2/12/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: America's Most Wanted, Since 10/22/2005 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Samoa Joe, Since 4/13/2006 TNA SLAMMIVERSARY 2006 June 18th, 2006 Orlando, FL Match #1: Team 3D vs. The James Gang [Bingo Hall Brawl] Generic smoke and mirrors gimmick match to hide weaknesses. And to some extent they did, but that doesn't make this good. It was not offensively bad, and if someone had just started watching wrestling and said this was good, I wouldn't be that mad at them. Especially since they are clearly retarded for TNA drawing them into pro wrestling. The TNA crowd chants "WE WANT FIRE!" in a nice piece of irony. 3D through the table beats Kip. **1/4 In the back, JB interviews Jarrett. He says he's always been an underdog, since he started. Larry comes over and says he knows who the new management guy is, and Jarrett won't like it, and they should talk. Match #2: Rhino vs. Bobby Roode/Scott D'Amore Below average again. Rhino Gores D'Amore to win. *3/4 Match #3: Senshi vs. Alex Shelley vs. Jay Lethal vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Petey Williams vs. Shark Boy [X Division #1 Contender's Elimination Match] This gets a lot of time, so it's pretty good stuff. Ki, Lethal, and Shelley all deliver. Dutt gets rid of Sharkie with his nearly Equinox level sloppy Standing SSP. Shelley and Lethal have an awesome exchange, and horribly, Shelley is gone after the Dragon Suplex. AND PETEY THEN ELIMINATES JAY WITH THE DESTROYER WTF. Senshi finally gets in to do shit, and he kills Petey with the Warrior's Way. Ki carries Dutt pretty well, and he hits the Tree of Woe Ghetto Stomp to win. AND THAT MEANS TNA IS BOOKING JOE VS. KI! *** Hype video for Nash/Sabin. Match #4: Chris Sabin vs. Kevin Nash w/ Alex Shelley Better than I expected. Nash does a great job here seeming like he has any goal of putting the X Division over, actually bumping around for Sabin a bit. Sabin comes out looking great, as it takes multiple interference spots for him to lose. Shelley crotches him up top and Nash wins with the Jackknife. **1/2 In the back, JB interviews AMW and Gail. AMW says they've beaten AJ and Daniels like 3 or 4 times. Harris says after 8 months with the titles, there is no competition for them, and they're going to add AJ and Daniels to the list of teams in the last 4 years who just couldn't get the job done, and Daniels should be lucky to be on that list in two different teams. SORREH BOUT YO DAMN LUCK. Match #5: America's Most Wanted [c] w/ Gail Kim vs. AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels [NWA World Tag Team Championship] Great great match, and TNA's MOTY to this point. Great opening with AMW stooging around and AJ and Daniels dominating until Gail interferes. Good AMW control seg, and then one of the better finishing runs of the year. TNA is really great at building up heels with a ton of bullshit finishes and calling back to each of them at points (see: AMW/XXX in 2003, AMW/Team Canada). Gail interfered, but some hideous muscle woman takes her away. They hit Daniels with a chair, but AJ saves. AJ gets in and does stuff, but he gets hit with the handcuffs! They cover, AND DANIELS PULLS THE REF OUT IN A GREAT REVENGE SPOT! Daniels gets the tag and hits the Angel's Wings and right before 3, STORM ELBOW DROPS THE REFEREE! AWESOME! Harris sets up AJ for the Catatonic a bit later, and Daniels is behind him. Storm tries to cut Daniels off with the beer bottle, BUT DANIELS MOVES AND STORM HITS HARRIS IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD WITH IT! URANAGE BY DANIELS! FROG SPLASH BY AJ FOLLOWED BY THE BEST MOONSAULT EVER, AND AJ AND DANIELS WIN THE BELTS! ***1/2 In the back, JB interviews Sting. He says if he has a shot at the belt, he's gonna take it, but most importantly, he wants to keep Jeff Jarrett away from the belt. IT'S SHOWTIME! Tenay is in the ring and he brings out the new Authority Figure, Jim Cornette! He puts over the last match as what tag wrestling should be, shits on WWE for no real reason, and has nothing important to announce. Match #6: Samoa Joe vs. Scott Steiner This was really really good, but not quite great. Some of the Steiner control segs were a bit meandering, and the finish was really abrupt and out of nowhere. Still, lots of great stuff. Joe took an insane Half Nelson Suplex bump, and probably got the best singles match someone could get out of 2006 Scott Steiner. Abrupt finish that I spoke of earlier is Joe standing up out of the Recliner, and dropping Scott throat-first on the top, followed by the Snap Powerslam for the win. Wait, what? **3/4 Hype video for the main event. Match #7: Christian Cage [c] vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting vs. Ron Killings vs. Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell [NWA World Heavyweight Champonship - KING OF THE MOUNTAIN MATCH] So yeah. Worst KOTM match yet, which is not shocking given the talent involved. And that it went 23 minutes. Takes at least two amazing performances (see: AJ in 2005 and Waltman in 2005) by people involved and an actual story (see: 2005) to overcome just how horrible of a gimmick this is, and nobody in this really performed to that level or brought much of a story. Larry is ringside all match, and when Christian is about to win, LARRY PUSHES THE LADDER OVER WHAT THE FUCK. Sting hits Larry and beats Jarrett, making a KO'd Hebner count it. He goes up with the belt, but Christian climbs up too. They fight and Earl Hebner "accidentally" pushes the ladder over, taking them both out. Jarrett goes up and hangs the belt to win it. GOD DAMNIT. GOD DAMNIT. FUCK EVERYTHING. **1/4 Jim Cornette comes out and takes the belt from him and walks to the back with it. Okay then. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: ?, Since 6/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels, Since 6/19/2006 TNA X-Division Champion: Samoa Joe, Since 4/13/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA Impact June 22nd, 2006 Orlando, FL Jim Cornette comes out to open the show, with the NWA Title belt, and he says he will not be the latest in the long line of impotent authority figures in TNA over the last 4 years. He says he has meeting scheduled all week, including one with LAX, and says someone is getting fired next week. He says Jeff Jarrett is NOT the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, and nobody is. He says he's known Jeff Jarrett since he was 14, and he's a shame to his family name, and he'll tell him what his future holds next week. Match #1: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels [c] vs. Elix Skipper/David Young w/ Simon Diamond [NWA World Tag Team Championship] Solid 3 minutes. Ugly female bodybuilder comes out to take out Diamond, and the BME/Frog Splash combo wins for the champions. ** Gail Kim comes out to fight the muscle wench, but gets beaten up, and AMW comes out to bail her out. In the back, wrestlers are lined up outside Cornette's office for meetings. Eric Young is worried about getting fired and asks JB for information. Jeff Jarrett says he doesn't need an appointment, and he barges in. Match #2: Monty Brown vs. Chasyn Rance Squash. *1/2 By the Spanish announce table, LAX still has their barrier set up, and Konnan gets on the mic. Konnan says Monty is like them, and he's been discriminated against. He says he's won so many #1 Contender's Matches, and he's won more of those than he's had title shots. He says TNA is racist and tells him to join LAX. Monty walks away, and Konnan says he can be like Sonjay Dutt or Ron Killings or Jay Lethal and find out the hard way. Truth comes out now and Konnan says he's been here for 4 years and won 2 World titles, but they still treat him like he's a kid, and he invites him to join LAX. He crosses the barrier, AND LAX ATTACKS! FUCK YEAH! They throw him back over the railing, and this is awesome. In the back, JB is outside the office with Eric Young. He says he's the last one tonight, so they always save the worst news for last. He asks JB for help, and Borash says maybe if he gets public support, he can't be fired. Sabin and Lethal come out of the office and they are pleased. The James Gang and Team 3D brawl from the back and into the ring. Brother Runt runs out to save, and he challenges them to get a partner for Victory Road and fight the three of them. In the back, Christian finds Cornette coming out of his office and he says he should get the title back because he never lost it and was screwed. Sting comes over and Cornette says he wasn't expecting him. Sting says he wants to talk, so they go into his office. Christian is mad, and Sting says he'll be the first one to know what happens. Match #3: Samoa Joe [c] vs. Senshi vs. Sonjay Dutt [TNA X Division Championship] Dutt is pretty clearly there to get the belt off of Joe without him losing yet. Still, lots of cool Joe/Senshi stuff in the 5-6 minutes this lasted. Scott Steiner comes out to hit Joe with a chair on the floor, and Senshi hits Dutt with the Warrior's Way to win the belt. **1/2 In the back, Sting leaves Cornette's office and says he got everything he asked for. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: ?, Since 6/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels, Since 6/19/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Senshi, Since 6/22/2006 TNA Impact June 29th, 2006 Orlando, FL Christian Cage comes out to open the show and he says he doesn't want to wait for the company meeting later tonight, and he wants to talk to Sting now. He comes out and Christian says he could have just asked him for a title shot if he wanted it so bad, but Sting stops him. He says he knows it's hard to lose it, but there's an even bigger problem in TNA than that, and he says that next week, it will be and Christian vs. Jarrett and Steiner, and that's what he asked for last week. Christian looks relieved, and says it's showtime. In the back, JB interviews Jarrett and he says he may be the most hated man in wrestling, but Cornette has no choice but to give him his title. Match #1: Chris Sabin/Sonjay Dutt vs. Petey Williams/Eric Young w/ Scott D'Amore Eric Young comes out with a sign saying "PLEASE DON'T FIRE ERIC YOUNG". A little too much Petey for this to be much good. Eric refuses to cheat out of fear for losing his job. Alex Shelley comes out to film, along with Johnny Devine holding the camera for him. Shelley shoves Lethal off the top, and Petey gets the Canadian Destroyer to win. *3/4 Match #2: Monty Brown vs. Norman Smiley Squash, but at least Norman is back! *1/4 Match #3: America's Most Wanted w/ Gail Kim vs. Team 3D w/ Brother Runt [No DQ] No DQ match on free TV with no build or reason? SUP RUSSO. AND HE'S NOT EVEN HERE FOR ANOTHER 3-4 MONTHS. The only real purpose this serves is to begin something that shouldn't happen for another six months or so, as Harris accidentally hits Storm with a trash can, and gets beat with the 3D. **1/4 The James Gang comes out and says they have their partner for Victory Road, and Abyss comes from behind and lays out the Dudleys. Coming back, everyone is around the ring for Cornette's company meeting. He addresses basically everything going on. He says LAX's work stoppage is going to be met with a paycheck stoppage too. He says all of Team Canada are under individual contracts, SO HE'S DISBANDING TEAM CANADA NO WTF. He books AJ/Daniels/Muscle Woman vs. AMW/Gail at Victory Road. God damnit. He calls Jarrett, Larry, Steiner, and Hebner in the ring. He says Earl's taking someone's money, SO HE'S FIRED! YES! Eric jumps up and down. He says if he fires Larry, he has to pay him the rest of his contract, so instead he's booking him vs. Raven at Victory Road in a Hair vs. Hair Match! He hands the belt to Jarrett under the stipulation that he takes a lie detector test, and he's okay. He books Sting vs. Christian vs. Joe vs. Steiner in a #1 Contender's Match at Victory Road, with the winner facing Jarrett after. Jarrett challenges Christian and Sting now, and they run in to fight, BUT JOE COMES DOWN TOO, AND HE CHOKES OUT STEINER! YEAH! |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels, Since 6/19/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Senshi, Since 6/22/2006 TNA Impact July 6th, 2006 Orlando, FL Match #1: Homicide w/ LAX vs. Sonjay Dutt Good showcase for Homicide. Only like 3 minutes, but whatever. Konnan hits Dutt with the slapjack from behind, and Homicide wins. ** They keep beating on him, but Ron Killings runs out to save. In the back, Scott D'Amore yells at Cornette that this isn't fair, and Cornette says if Team Canada can win an eight man tag next week, then they won't have to disband. At ringside, Eric Young comes out to commentary and says Team Canada getting disbanded means he's gone for sure. Tenay says it could be good to get away from D'Amore. Team Canada comes out and takes Young to the back and says to stop being so paranoid. Match #2: Monty Brown vs. Kenny King Squaaaaaaaaaaaaaaash. *1/2 Vignette of Shane Douglas training The Naturals. Kevin Nash and Paparazzi Productions come out, and they wheel a bodybag with someone inside it into the ring. Nash announces that they've got Osama Bin Ladin! They open it up, AND CHRIS SABIN IS IN THERE! His hands are tied up and Nash says he didn't know he was Al Queda. Jay Lethal comes out to save, and Tenay announces Sabin/Lethal vs. Nash/Shelley for Victory Road. In the back, JB is with Samoa Joe. He says Sting was the man, but now, he's looking at The Man, and all Christian's wining won't save him from Samoa Joe. He says he's going to take them out, and then he's going to choke out Scott Steiner and break his neck. Match #3: Jeff Jarrett/Scott Steiner vs. Sting/Christian Cage Somehow this gets like 10+ minutes. Pretty much average, but I suppose it could have been much worse. Christian gets Jarrett with the Frog Splash, and Sting covers to win. **1/2 Steiner attacks them post-match with the title. Samoa Joe comes out to save, and he fights Steiner to the back to end the show. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels, Since 6/19/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Senshi, Since 6/22/2006 TNA Impact July 13th, 2006 Orlando, FL Rhino opens the show with his horrible promo about ECW being dead and blowing up the title and issuing an open challenge. Monty Brown comes out, and they have a pull apart brawl that is pretty horrible. In the back, Sting cuts a promo about how Jeff Jarrett is an cancer, and he has to cut them out. Match #1: Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Norman Smiley Brief short squash. 3/4* In the back, AJ and Daniels officially introduce bodybuilding uggo as Sirelda. Match #2: Senshi vs. Jerrelle Clark Wonderful showcase for Ki. He wins with the Warrior's Way. ** In the back, JB interviews Christian. He asks what happens if it gets down to he and Sting at Victory Road. Christian says they've had problems in the past, but they've come to an agreement of sorts, and if it comes down to the two of them, then the best man, him, will win. Match #3: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels w/ Sirelda vs. Alex Shelley/Johnny Devine Great stuff for the time it got. Shelley vs. AJ is basically magic again. Sirelda stops Shelley from using the camera, and Styles hits Devine with the Styles Clash to win. **1/4 AMW and Gail come out to fight with the faces. Hype video for Raven/Larry. Match #4: Jay Lethal/Rhino/Team 3D vs. Team Canada w/ Scott D'Amore [Team Canada's Future On The Line - Winner of the Fall Gets a Title Shot] Lethal, Roode, and Eric all looked good here. Unfortunately, Team 3D worked like 80% of this, so it wasn't as great as it could have been. Brother Runt comes out to stop D'Amore from using the hockey stick, and Lethal gets Eric with the Dragon Suplex for the win. ** |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels, Since 6/19/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Senshi, Since 6/22/2006 ![]() TNA Victory Road 2006 July 16th, 2006 Orlando, FL Match #1: The Naturals w/ Shane Douglas vs. Elix Skipper/David Young w/ Simon Diamond The Naturals now have shorter hair and yellow and black gear, having been, ugh, Franchised. Elix and Young were fine here. but The Naturals had a ton of horribly contrived new moves. In terms of performance, they look about 5x worse than they did when they left with Shane, as they seemed to be finally getting their shit together in the months before that. They beat Elix with a Powerbomb/Missile Dropkick combo to win. *3/4 Shane yells at them for not winning faster. I hate all of this. They run down the card, and Tenay now says the winner gets a title shot next month instead of tonight. Great work, TNA. In the back, JB talks to Christian. He says everyone's confident, but Scott lacks the heart, Joe is too fat, and Sting has been gone too long to stop him from reclaiming a belt that he never lost, and he says he's still the man around here. Hype video for Rhino/Monty. Match #2: Rhino vs. Monty Brown This is at least short at only 4 minutes. Doesn't mean it's good. Ref gets knocked down, and they end up brawling away through the crowd and the match ends when they get pulled apart. For something like this to really get over, I feel like it needs to be with guys people care about and who can do hate filled brawling. Neither has those things going for them. This sucked too. *3/4 In the back, LAX cuts a promo. Konnan says this work stoppage played right into their hands, because now they're finally on a PPV. Konnan says just like the 10 million illegals in this country, they didn't ask for anything, but they took what they wanted. He speaks in Spanish and says for all the white boys who can't speak Spanish, they better learn in the next few years, because they're taking over. This is all amazing. Hype video for LAX. Match #3: LAX w/ Konnan vs. Ron Killings/Sonjay Dutt The PPV finally puts on a great match. They get 10 minutes and get to show off how amazing they are. Hernandez is great in a tag setting against smaller guys. Cide hits the amazing Tope Con Hello. Hernandez works against small guys like Abyss SHOULD, in that he actually builds to going down so it feels like an accomplishment. Truth has a great hot tag, but Dutt gets back in. Hernandez hits an INSANE Border Toss for the win. *** In the back, Scott Steiner cuts a promo. He says Sting is old and retarded, Samoa Joe is fat, and Christian needs to eat a steak and go back to MEXICO NORTH. NO OFFENSE TO MEXICO. HEH. He says Christian thinks this game is checkers, but it's chess. Steiner got like 80% of the way to a Training Day quote there. Team Canada comes out to say goodbye. I am torn. Petey and A1 are horrible, but the Roode/Eric Young team had so much potential that never really got capitalized on. D'Amore talks about all they've done, and he blames Jim Cornette for this. He wishes Petey, Roode, and A1 all the best. They all hug, and Scott D'Amore says they can blame Cornette a little, but they all know whose fault this really is and who to blame, AND THAT MAN IS ERIC YOUNG! He blames him and he makes him give him back that Team Canada track suit, and says to give him his pants back. He says he hopes he gets fired, and he leaves. Eric is in his underwear and the crowd loudly chants "DON'T FIRE ERIC!" in the loudest pop of the night. BOUND FOR GLORY: OCTOBER 22ND! FROM "DETROIT"! Match #4: Senshi [c] vs. Kazarian [TNA X Division Championship] UGH. THIS FAGGOT IS BACK AND FORGOT HIS FIRST NAME. Kazarian sucks here, but it's mostly Ki kicking the shit out of him, so it's enjoyable. Kaz has a brief comeback, but Ki mostly eats him alive and wins with the Warrior's Way. **1/2 Hype video for Raven/Larry. Match #5: Raven vs. Larry Zbyszko [Hair vs. Hair] This is only 4 minutes or so, but my god, it is atrocious. Raven wins with the Evenflow. 1/2* Raven shaves him, and he threatens to fire everyone. That idiot Slick Johnson shows him his head in a mirror, so he kicks him in the dick and leaves. In the back, JB interviews the Paparazzi crew. Shelley says he hasn't seen Nash this motivated since he beat Bob Backlund in 8 seconds or since he formed the NWO and made Hulk Hogan carry his bags. Nash mocks the X Division and says it's not about weight limits, it's about no limits, and they're the most no limit having team ever. Recap of all the Nash vs. X Division stuff. Match #6: Chris Sabin/Jay Lethal vs. Kevin Nash/Alex Shelley w/ Johnny Devine Another match that doesn't suck! And actually, this is really great. The Shelley vs. Sabin stuff early on is just SO fucking good. Shelley and Nash work like Nash/Michaels, except that Shelley is better than 93-95 Michaels at everything but insane bumping (Michaels is way better at stealing catchphrases though!). Given that Shelley doesn't need to bump around like a lunatic though, that's not necessary. Great control seg on Lethal, Sabin has a great hot tag. Nash actually takes some pretty big bumps. Sabin gets a Sunset Flip with a bridge for the win. On the border, but I liked it enough. *** The Paparazzi attacks post-match, and Jerry Lynn comes out to save wit ha chair. In the back, Team 3D just yells violence over and over. Match #7: Team 3D/Brother Runt vs. The James Gang/Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell [No DQ] This was a match. Could have been worse, considering it's these 5 in 2006, and Abyss. They try to recreate the crowd surfing spot with Spike, but right before they get him back to the ring, THEY DROP SPIKE AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA. Abyss beats Spike with the Black Hole Slam. ** Match #8: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels/Sirelda vs. America's Most Wanted/Gail Kim The women just get in the way. AMW vs. AJ/Daniels is super great as always, but the women take up too much time being horrible for this to be great. Harris accidentally hits Storm with a chair, and then AJ hits Harris with the Styles Clash for the win. **3/4 Hype video for the main event. HARD JUSTICE: AUGUST 13TH! Match #9: Sting vs. Christian Cage vs. Samoa Joe vs. Scott Steiner [#1 Contender's Match] This is alright. Jeff Jarrett sneaks down as a cameraman and sprays "gasoline" in Sting's eyes, and he has to be taken to the back. Joe does what he can to carry Steiner and a clearly not giving a shit Christian for 10 or so minutes, before Sting comes out. He gets rid of Joe and Cage, and then hits Steiner with the Scorpion Death Drop to win. **1/2 |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels, Since 6/19/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Senshi, Since 6/22/2006 TNA Impact July 20th, 2006 Orlando, FL In the back, Jay Lethal comes out of Sting's dressing room. JB asks what he's doing, and he says he just talked to Sting, and he's using his title shot tonight. JB wishes him luck against Senshi, but he says he's going after Jeff Jarrett! Match #1: Matt Bentley/Kazarian vs. The Naturals w/ Shane Douglas Hey, Shazarian is back! Only time either of them have ever been tolerable for a prolonged stretch of time. This was not good though. Only in TNA would a tag team mentored by a famous heel come back from his training as babyfaces. Makes no sense. They win with the Powerbomb/Missile Dropkick combo. *3/4 Shane yells at them for taking too long to win and slaps them. In the back, Eric Young now has a DON'T FIRE ERIC shirt on and asks JB to help him with more ideas. AMAZING PAPARAZZI VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chb8DjmjnCY -Nash says he went out in front of 29,000 people in MSG and won the belt -"Does the Garden even hold 29,000 people?" "It did that night." -Nash says the Paparazzi shirt is the hottest selling shirt in the world, even the universe -Nash says he needs to get in the head of an X Division star -Nash is bewildered when Shelley says X Division guys, apart from them, don't drink, smoke, watch porn, gamble, blow money on whores, or have any real vices -Shelley shows Nash tapes from Mexico and makes up moves -Nash wants to wrestle one of them -Shelley says they'll fly in those two Madagascar wrestlers for him to fight, on business class, prompting Nash to yell "SHUT THE FRONT DOOR" -Group hug Match #2: Rhino vs. Jobber Squash. 1/2* Rhino gets on the mic and issues another open challenge, AND SAMOA JOE COMES OUT! BAH GAWD! TNA is clearly trying to rob Joe of WOTY in 2006 by throwing him at limited wrestlers and making him carry them. Anyways, they get pulled apart. Joe is way better at that than Monty. In the back, AMW argues about Victory Road. Gail says to stop it, and challenges Sirelda to a match at Hard Justice, because this is all her fault. God damnit. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels come out to the ring, and they get on the mic. AJ says now that AMW is out of the picture, it's time to move on to the next challenge. He says they have the names of every tag team in TNA on contracts in this envelope, and they say a lot of teams resent them as a team holding these belts after not being together very long. Daniels asks who the first team to challenge them is going to be. Konnan asks why they aren't naming LAX. He says the gringos ain't got no heart and they're overrated. AJ yells at him to shut up, and they pull out a contract with LAX's names on it. Konnan says they've spoonfed the two of them everything and they're ducking LAX. Daniels challenges them to come and sign the contract, and Konnan says he can't read it from there. Daniels and AJ go to give it to him, and he asks for a pen. Daniels digs in his pocket, AND LAX ATTACKS FROM BEHIND! FUCK YEAH! They beat them to the ring, and Hernandez totally wastes AJ. Konnan busts Daniels open with the title belt, AND HOMICIDE KILLS AJ WITH THE COP KILLA! FUCK YEAH! KONNAN SIGNS THE CONTRACT IN DANIELS' BLOOD! A video airs on Bobby Roode. NEXT WEEK: RHINO VS. JOE Match #3: Jeff Jarrett [c] vs. Jay Lethal [NWA World Heavyweight Championship] This gets like 7 minutes, and is really fantastic. Super great fiery underdog Lethal performance. AWESOME TOPE SUICIDA. Jay takes huge bumps, and Jarrett is generally alright too! Steiner comes out to crotch Lethal up top while he has Jeff up there, and Jarrett hits a Stroke off the top for the win. *** They beat on him post-match, until the lights go out, and Sting is in the ring for the save! Best episode of Impact probably since last August. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Since 6/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels, Since 6/19/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPIONS CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Senshi, Since 6/22/2006 TNA Impact August 3rd, 2006 Orlando, FL Match #1: LAX w/ Konnan vs. Jerrelle Clark/Chasyn Rance AMAZING squash. Konnan and Moody Jack force Tenay and West off commentary, and they do the commentary all in Spanish. THIS IS SO FUCKING GREAT. Hernandez kills Clark with the Border Toss and Homicide beats Rance with the Cop Killa. ** AJ and Daniels come on the tron, and AJ has a neck brace on. Daniels challenges Homicide to a match next week, and he accepts. Konnan says they've already put one of them on the shelf, and they're stronger and hungrier than they are, and they're taking the tag titles. In the back, Christian says he's going to be in Sting's corner at Hard Justice as a counter to Scott Steiner. Joe vs. Rhino vs. Monty in some manner of a gimmick match is added to Hard Justice. In the back, Jarrett and Steiner are looking for Sting or Christian, and they find Jay Lethal and beat him up. A video airs of TNA managers and announcers putting over Bobby Roode. Match #2: America's Most Wanted w/ Gail Kim vs. The Naturals w/ Shane Douglas ONCE AGAIN, AMW carries The Naturals for 4 minutes or so. Then they lose to a fluke rollup. God damnit. ** Jarrett and Steiner come out, and they help AMW kill The Naturals. Jarrett calls out Sting or Christian Cage, whichever of them is here. Instead, Larry comes out and says Jim Cornette wants to talk to Scott Steiner in the ring later, and is ordering Jeff Jarrett out of the building. Match #3: Alex Shelley vs. Jay Lethal vs. Petey Williams vs. Kazarian vs. Sonjay Dutt [#1 Contender's Match] Shelley and Lethal do what they can, but it's a 3 on 2 in terms of shitty wrestlers vs. great ones. Lethal does a great job selling the beating from earlier. Decent spotfest, and horribly, Petey beats Dutt with the Destroyer. **1/4 In the back, Christian arrives, and says he has business with Cornette tonight. Eric Young asks him, Canadian to Canadian, to put in a good word. Christian says he'll try to change Jim's mind and leaves, and now Eric is freaking out. Jim Cornette comes out and blah blah blah shits on WWE, etc. He books Joe vs. Rhino vs. Monty, Abyss/Runt, and a 4 way tag for Hard Justice. He calls both Christian and Steiner to the ring, and books them in a match next week. AND BAH GAWD STING HOPS THE RAILING IN A BAT, BUT HE HITS CHRISTIAN! HE TAKES THE MASK OFF TO REVEAL JEFF JARRETT! |
