NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Abyss, Since 11/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: LAX, Since 10/22/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Christopher Daniels, Since 11/16/2006 TNA Impact November 23rd, 2006 Orlando, FL New champion Abyss and Father James Mitchell are in the ring to open the show. Mitchell says he knew the darkness still lived inside of Sting and they outsmarted him. BUT BAH GAWD STING COMES DOWN! They leave, but he takes off the Sting mask, and it's Christian Cage! He said he wants his rightful title shot, BUT THE REAL STING IS IN THE RAFTERS AGAIN! He says he'll walk right through Christian to get his rematch. Match #1: AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels vs. The Naturals This is announced as the final match for AJ and Daniels as a team. Great showcase for them as always. ** Rhino comes out to again try and patch things up, but AJ shoves him and walks out on both of them. In a pretape, VKM says they are planning Operation: Cease & Desist. Jim Cornette comes out to the ring, and he demands that LAX comes out and returns TNA's property in the tag titles. He calls out Petey Williams first, and he comes out. He thanks Petey for doing what he did, and they hang the US flag over the ropes and Cornette tries to lead the National Anthem. LAX comes out to interrupt it with papers, and he says he's suing Cornette for violating their 1st Amendment rights, and Petey attacks them. AMW also runs out to help, and Kurt Angle comes out to aid them too. Coming back, Kurt is still in the ring, and Samoa Joe comes out. He gets on the mic and says he was undefeated for 17 months, but always knew that at some point, a better man would come along and beat him. He says he wants a rematch, and Kurt says he can have a rematch at Turning Point if they agree to protect each other until them. From who? Who's going to fuck with Samoa Joe? Kurt Angle maybe now has a thing with LAX, but he also has AMW and Petey for that. Horrible. Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks come out, and Roode gets on the mic. He shows footage of Eric beating him on the pre-show from last Sunday, and says Eric Young was an embarrassment to him for two years, and he's not going to let him embarrass him anymore (little does he know...), and he wants a rematch right now. Match #2: Robert Roode w/ Ms. Brooks vs. Eric Young This is short, and Eric wins with a roll up after Tracy tries to distract Eric with her tits, but he moves and Roode hits her. * Roode yells at Ms. Brooks post-match and says he didn't hire her to flaunt her body. PAPARAZZI PRODUCTIONS: -Nash is with all the X Division guys and says they need to rebrand it -AND NASH ANNOUNCES THE PAPARAZZI CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES -Nash says there will be tests, and Dutt says he's not peeing in no cup -He makes them all join hands, and Senshi refuses and just sits down and shakes his head Match #3: Christian Cage vs. Sting [#1 Contender's Match] This was decent enough for a 4 minute match with no real ending. Christian takes big bumps, and then the ref goes down, and the match is now just sort of over. ** Sting puts on the Scorpion Deathlock, BUT TOMKO COMES FROM THE CROWD AND THEY LAY OUT STING! YEAH! |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Abyss, Since 11/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: LAX, Since 10/22/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Christopher Daniels, Since 11/16/2006 TNA Impact November 30th, 2006 Orlando, FL TONIGHT: LAX VS. PETEY/ANGLE In the back, LAX swears revenge on Petey and AMW. Christian Cage and Tomko come out to the ring, and Tenay says it's Abyss/Sting/Christian at the PPV. Christian introduces his Problem Solver again, and says they're going to take out Abyss and Sting before Turning Point. Christian challenges Abyss to come and face Tomko. He tries to come out, but Mitchell talks him out of it. A clearly fake dummy Sting repels down from the ceiling to distract Christian and Tomko, and the real Sting repels down behind them, and he runs them off with the bat. That was pretty cool actually. Sting gets on the mic and says he wants to talk to Abyss tonight, without Mitchell there. VKM video. In the back, LAX jumps James Storm, and they lay him out. Christopher Daniels comes out to do commentary. Match #1: Chris Sabin vs. Jay Lethal vs. Sonjay Dutt [#1 Contender's Match] This is about 2-3 minutes of spots and Sabin rolls up Dutt to win. *1/2 In the back, LAX jumps Chris Harris and lays him out too. In a horrible horrible angle, there's a pretape with Tenay and AJ Styles. Awful melodramatic music playing over the whole thing to slap you in the face and say "THIS IS A SERIOUS DRAMATIC ANGLE". AJ complains about growing up poor in a trailer and how he had to work for everything himself and doesn't need anybody's help, and asks where the help was when he needed it. Rhino comes on and says he grew up poor too and AJ gets in his face and told him not to try and relate to him and leaves. Why does every new booker try to turn AJ heel? He is your top face. He is the face, he is the one the fans recognize as the Ace of the company, and TNA is at its best when they realize that. At ringside, Ms. Brooks is looking for Eric Young and asks Tenay and DW if they've seen him. They say no. Match #2: Alex Shelley/Austin Starr vs. Ron Killings/Lance Hoyt This is also about 2 minutes. Shelley rolls up Truth while holding onto the jeans for the win. *3/4 Aries takes the camera off the floor, and he shows the ref how it ended, so he reverses the decision and DQs Generation Next. What the fuck? Sting comes out and calls out Abyss, and he comes out alone. He says he's watched Abyss for the last four years (so he watched him for a year before he came to TNA, when he was addicted to ecstasy and living with Bob Ryder, I guess) as he climbed the ranks. He asks why Abyss lets Mitchell lead him around like a puppet. He asks Abyss if he's looking for someone to pull him out of his torment, and says he can be that guy, AND CALLS HIM CHRIS. SHOOT NAMES. FUCKING SHOOT NAMES. HE'S A GODDAMNED EVIL DESTRUCTIVE MONSTER. YOU DON'T GO CALLING KANE "GLENN" OR CALLING TAKER "MARK" IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ANGLE. HOW THE FUCK DOES STING KNOW HIS REAL NAME? HE'S BEEN HERE FOR LIKE 10 MONTHS AND NEVER INTERACTED WITH ABYSS BEFORE? I HATE YOU. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? Mitchell comes on the tron and says Sting is wasting his time, and Sting says Abyss has a choice. Christian and Tomko come out to attack Abyss, and Sting saves. He offers Abyss his hand, and Mitchell comes out. He slaps Sting, and leads Abyss to the back. I hate everything. In the back, LAX lays out Petey too. Cool. So it's now a handicap match. Match #3: LAX [c] w/ Konnan vs. Kurt Angle [NWA World Tag Team Championship] LAX delivers a quality beating. This is once again only like 4 minutes. Samoa Joe comes out at the end to make the tag, and he has an awesome hot tag, and they win the belts with the Ankle Lock on Cide and The Choke on Hernandez! ** Cornette comes out and says Joe was not a legal participant in this match, and LAX are unfortunately still champions. Joe and Angle then shake hands. There's nothing inherently wrong with this, but the Sting/Abyss angle ruined everything on this show. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Abyss, Since 11/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: LAX, Since 10/22/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Christopher Daniels, Since 11/16/2006 TNA Impact December 7th, 2006 Orlando, FL TONIGHT: Some kind of six man war, although they don't mention if that means a trios match or a three way tag or what. They just say six men will go to war. Rhino comes out to open the show and he challenges AJ Styles to come out and fight him. Instead, Christopher Daniels comes out to the ring. He tries to make peace by saying AJ doesn't mean harm, but AJ Styles comes out. He says not to put words in his mouth, and he wants to fight Rhino too for thinking he's so much better than all of them. Rhino talks to Daniels, and AJ attacks him from behind, and security comes out to break it up. Match #1: Homicide w/ LAX vs. Petey Williams This was at least only 3 minutes or so. Petey rolls up Homicide after avoiding the Cop Killa for the win. *1/2 LAX kills Petey post-match, and Hernandez wastes him with the Border Toss. AMW and Gail Kim run out now, and they manage to run off LAX. Horrible VKM video. PAPARAZZI PRODUCTIONS: -The PCS begins with psychological examinations using a Rorschach test -Senshi says "warrior" to every one, so Nash asks how he sees Jim Hellwig in all of those -Shelley says it looks like his heart after Nash broke it -Nash asks if Lethal has ever administered a lethal injection. Lethal asks if Nash has ever been to Fire Island, and Nash says he has a summer home there -Nash says he knows Dutt is on something, so Dutt runs away In the back, Random TNA Blond interviews Eric Young and he is training for a bikini contest with Ms. Brooks. What? Match #2: Senshi vs. Eric Young Short again. Eric Young is wrestling in a sweatsuit. Tracy comes out to distract Eric, so Senshi knocks him down and hits the Warrior's Way to win. *3/4 In the back, LAX is standing by. Konnan challenges AMW to a flag match at Turning Point, and phrases it like it's just a normal tag match where the winning team's flag is raised and the anthem is played. Awful VKM stuff. Kip now has red hair. Jim Cornette comes out to the ring and he officially makes the LAX/AMW Flag Match for Turning Point. Christian Cage and Tomko come out and Christian says he means no disrespect, but asks if Cornette follows any normal hiring practices, because Abyss has a very violent background and should not be around others. Cornette says he can wrestle, so he hired him. Wait, no. Nope. Abyss came in in 2003. Erik Watts was in charge then. As a matter of fact, Abyss debuted by attacking Erik Watts, so why the fuck would he sign him to a contract? Why is Jim Cornette taking credit for hiring decisions made three years ago when he's been in TNA for five months? Why am I planning on reviewing 2007 when the end of 2006 is causing me this much pain? I don't have answers for any of those questions. Tomko apparently has a secret about Abyss, so Abyss comes out and goes after him. He falls to a 2 on 1, and Sting then comes out and makes the save. Sting offers his hand, and Abyss shakes it, but he then hits the Black Hole Slam. Match #3: Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe vs. Abyss vs. Sting vs. Rhino Within seconds of the bell, AJ Styles runs out to attack Rhino, and they brawl to the back. So it's everyone from the double main event for Turning Point fighting in the ring. Logically (although logically, giving away your two main events on TV basically is always retarded), you mix up the pairings so there's still some sense of mystery. But this is the dark ages of TNA, so that doesn't quite happen. At the end, the three title picture guys brawl away, AND ANGLE BEATS JOE AGAIN WITH THE ANGLE SLAM?! AND IT'S JUST NO BIG FUCKING DEAL AT ALL. FUCK YOU. *3/4 |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Abyss, Since 11/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: LAX, Since 10/22/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Christopher Daniels, Since 11/16/2006 ![]() TNA Turning Point 2006 December 10th, 2006 Orlando, FL Match #1: Alex Shelley vs. Austin Starr vs. Senshi vs. Jay Lethal vs. Sonjay Dutt [Elimination Match] Nash joins commentary again. This gets like 15 minutes, so it delivers. Dutt gets Shelley in the Camel Clutch, and Shelley gets the ropes. Aries pulls him back to the middle in the hold behind the ref's back, and Shelley taps! Ki then beats Lethal after the John Woo. Aries hits the punt, Brainbuster, and 450 Splash on Dutt to win. Great final few moments of Ki vs. Aries before Senshi wins with the Warrior's Way. On the border, but at this point, you have to give them a little bit due to how awful the promotion is. *** It is time for the Eric Young/Tracy bikini contest. Tracy is in something skimpy, and Eric is wearing a t-shirt. He takes it off to reveal Spongebob boxers. They threaten to DQ him, so Eric reveals a hideous bikini bottom, and the fans judge Eric the winner. He leaves to celebrate, and Roode orders Ms. Brooks to sign Eric to Robert Roode Inc. for some reason. Random TNA Blond finds a locker room marked "Michael Hickenbottom & Paul Levesque", and goes in, but Fat Naked Oily Guy is there and dances on her. Match #2: Christopher Daniels [c] vs. Chris Sabin [TNA X Division Championship - Special Referee: Jerry Lynn] Great match again. A little more story here, with Sabin being faster and more inventive, but getting too cocky at crucial points. Not as good as last month, but still. Lynn didn't make himself the focus, which is nice. Daniels catches Sabin trying a springboard and hits a palm strike, and then the BME for the win. *** Lynn tries to get them to shake hands again, and Daniels says he doesn't want Sabin's handshake. Lynn slaps him and says he will respect him, and Daniels leaves too. SHADES OF GREY! There was another horrible angle with the baseball people that doesn't even warrant recapping. Fuck them. In the back, JB talks to Rhino, and he says he's going to beat some sense into AJ. Match #3: AJ Styles vs. Rhino I never would think an AJ Styles match would be the one to stop a PPV's momentum, but this is a new era of TNA, in which they try for the next 18 or so months to ruin AJ Styles. They do stuff for 5 or so minutes, and it's decent, and then booking happens. I actually love the booking, but they could have done a lot more to make it work better with more time. AJ fakes a knee injury, and is being helped up on the floor. Rhino looks away, and AJ runs in and gets a schoolboy with the tights to win. Since they only had 5 minutes of action and then 2 of the knee injury stuff, it doesn't come off as well as it could. **1/2 More VKM shit in the back. At ringside, AJ and Rhino are brawling now, and get pulled apart. Hype video for AMW/LAX. Match #4: America's Most Wanted vs. LAX [Flag Match] Gail and Konnan are there. And despite Konnan's promo, this is the normal Capture the Flag bullshit TNA style flag match, but with a new rule that you have to hang your own flag above the ring to win. That being said, making this more of a brawl helped them have the great match that they're capable of. Both Harris and Homicide fight on the ladder. Storm goes behind Homicide, AND BREAKS HIS BOTTLE ON HOMICIDE'S HEAD, BUT THE GLASS GOES IN HARRIS' EYES! Hernandez gets rid of Storm and hangs the Mexican flag to win! *** Storm is PISSED, but Gail gets him to calm down and he leaves. The Mexican national anthem is played to many many boos. In the back, Storm grabs JB's mic, and he says Harris let down him and all of America, and he wants an apology this Thursday. It's happening. HORRIBLE IN-RING VKM SEGMENT. This is where they have a million dollars on the line to challenge DX to a tag match. In the back, JB interviews Christian. He says he's loving the little soap opera that's going on, but all he cares about is the title he never lost, and that's why he's going to be the one to come out of all of this with the NWA Title. Hype video for the three way. Match #5: Abyss [c] w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Sting vs. Christian Cage w/ Tomko [NWA World Heavyweight Championship] This happened. Ref bump, tacks get taken out again. Sting and Mitchell argue over who Abyss should listen to, and it allows Tomko to get Abyss with DAS BOOT from behind and it knocks him to the tacks. When he gets up, he thinks Sting did it. Christian gets in to do some stuff, but then Abyss beats Sting with the Black Hole Slam. **1/4 Match #6: Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle This is much more of a normal Angle match, so it is not great. The first match had Joe having the control seg, and this gives it to Angle. Joe's offense is some of the best stuff of anyone wrestling in the 2000s, so Angle has nothing on that level. Angle tries to make Joe's comeback work like a token WWE power guy with punches and clotheslines, and it's so uncomfortable to watch. They do finisher kickouts, before Angle accidentally hits himself with a chair, and Joe puts on the Choke to win. **3/4 |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Abyss, Since 11/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: LAX, Since 10/22/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Christopher Daniels, Since 11/16/2006 TNA Impact December 14th, 2006 Orlando, FL Robert Roode comes out and demands Eric Young sign a contract with him. Kurt Angle comes out instead, and roode quickly leaves. Kurt freaks out about losing, and calls out Samoa Joe. Joe says like Angle did to him, he's turning it down, and he already proved he's better than Kurt. Kurt freaks out as he walks to the back, and he pulls Don West off of commentary, and puts him in the Ankle Lock until people come out to get him away. Why do they always attack the better commentator? Match #1: Abyss w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Ron Killings This is not good at all. Short, and fully of those really shoddy Abyss punches. Black Hole Slam ends it. * In the back, TNA Blond is with Christian and Tomko. Christian says Abyss owes him a title shot after he was only able to beat Sting because of him, and he wants an answer by the end of the hour. In the back, Tracy tries to get EY to sign, but he runs away. PCS PUSH UP CHALLENGE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtSHggyqEsA In the back, Kurt is looking for Joe. He asks Eric where he is, and Eric Young has no idea, so Kurt throws him into the wall. Match #2: Christopher Daniels vs. Petey Williams Short and awful! Sabin distracts Daniels and Petey gets a roll up to win. *1/4 Sabin tries to leave with the belt, but Lynn comes out and takes it from him. Daniels goes out to get his belt, but he sees Lynn with it. Daniels punches him down, thinking he was trying to steal it, and he reclaims his belt. In the back, Angle continues to go crazy, and he puts Slick Johnson in the Ankle Lock for a while. Kurt Angle comes out and tries to attack SoCal Val, but Jim Cornette comes out. He books Angle and a partner of his choice vs. Joe and a partner next week, and says Joe has to agree to the rematch for him to book it, and tells Kurt to change his mind. In the back, JB is talking to AMW and Harris has his eye taped up. JB says they've wagered their future as a team against LAX's titles for one final shot tonight. WHAT THE FUCK? THAT'S A HUGE HUGE HUGE GODDAMNED DEAL. YOU DON'T. GODDAMNIT. THEY *ARE* THE TNA TAG TEAM DIVISION, YOU DON'T JUST GIVE AWAY A TITLES VS. CAREER MATCH ON FREE TV WITH NO WARNING AT ALL. FUCK. FUCKING FUCK. FUCK YOU RUSSO. Oh, and Konnan is also inside a cage at ringside. Great work here. Match #3: LAX [c] w/ Konnan vs. America's Most Wanted w/ Gail Kim [NWA World Tag Team Championship - If AMW Loses, They Must Split] This is only 4 or so minutes, which is continuing the number of infuriating things about this, but it is fantastic. Harris puts on a great frantic performance, swinging at anything that moves, since he only has one eye. Homicide and Hernandez have a great control seg, and then at the end, JAMES STORM BREAKS HIS BEER BOTTLE IN HARRIS' GOOD EYE WHAT THE FUCK?! Homicide covers to win. **1/2 Gail Kim checks on Harris and covers him up. She yells at Storm, and Petey comes down to do it too, but Storm shoves him down and leaves. SORREH BOUT YO DAMN LUCK. Shame they didn't do this on a bigger stage, AMW deserved a great sendoff. Probably the biggest revelation of this project. Christian and Tomko come back out, and Christian says Abyss better accept, or Tomko will revel THE SECRET~. Abyss comes out and fights them and it is horrible. Babyface Abyss might be the worst brawler on the roster. Referees try and break it up, and Abyss kills them too. He grabs cornette by the throat, but Sting comes out. He gets him to let him go and Abyss leaves. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Abyss, Since 11/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: LAX, Since 10/22/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Christopher Daniels, Since 11/16/2006 TNA Impact December 21st, 2006 Orlando, FL Match #1: Sting vs. Kazarian Quick Sting squash. Oh well. 3/4* Sting says he has another challenge for Abyss, and says he has until the end of the night to meet him in the ring without Mitchell. In the back, Rhino says he made a mistake trusting AJ Styles at Turning Point, but it won't happen again. He leaves, and Angle walks by. He grabs the mic and says he tried to do this the simple way, but now he's going to do it the hard way. Back in the ring, Raven beats Kazarian with a kendo stick for losing to Sting. In the back, JB asks Eric about Ms. Brooks, and he says he's not giving her a rematch because he won fair and square. Goddamnit. A pretape airs from Team 3D. Bubba says they've been representing TNA in Japan, and they're coming back for The Naturals and Shane Douglas. Match #2: Team 3D vs. The Naturals w/ Shane Douglas [Table Match] This is a short squash. Which while Team 3D are still horrible, they at least have a legacy to rest their laurels on. The Naturals still fucking suck. What do they have? The fact that they were easily the worst tag team to be in a great match against AMW? Fuck them. 3D through a table does it. 3/4* AND SHANE FINALLY WALKS OUT ON THEM! THE NATURALS ARE DONE! THANK YOU, SHANE DOUGLAS! Video airs of VKM at a WWE house show getting a small group of people to chant for TNA. What a war this is. Santa comes out to give presents, and LAX comes out. Konnan says they're still the greatest and they ended the most dominant tag team in TNA, and they still don't get any respect. He says Santa and TNA can go to hell. Santa attacks them, and it's Brother Runt. Doing God's work, Hernandez murders him with the Border Toss. The tag match is now announced as Joe/AJ vs. Kurt/Rhino. So much for choosing your own partners? A sit-down interview airs with Tenay and James Storm. He says AMW won everything there is to win. He says they'll not only go down as the best tag team in TNA history, but the best tag team of the decade too. He says Harris was always a drama queen, but he put up with it because they were great together. He says there was nothing left for them to win, and when Harris started embarrassing him and the team and then America on a regular basis, he knew it was time to move on. He says if Harris wants to look him in the eyes and say something, he ain't a hard man to find. HA! BECAUSE HE'S BLIND! Another Sting/Abyss/Cage angle. Fuck this. I'm one episode away from the end of this. Don't care anymore. Nothing new gets accomplished here. Match #3: Samoa Joe/AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle/Rhino This was decent for 3 minutes or so. Since Angle is the heel, he should logically be teaming with AJ, but whatever, LOLTNA, LOLRUSSO, LOLSHADESOFGREY, etc. AJ rolls up Rhino again with the tights to win. *3/4 Kurt beats up Joe with a chair on the floor, and puts on the Ankle Lock until people pull him off. |

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Abyss, Since 11/19/2006 NWA World Tag Team Champions: LAX, Since 10/22/2006 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY TNA X-Division Champion: Christopher Daniels, Since 11/16/2006 TNA Impact December 28th, 2006 Orlando, FL In the back, Angle is again demanding another match with Joe. Match #1: Christopher Daniels/Petey Williams vs. Chris Sabin/James Storm This actually gets time and is pretty good stuff. Of course, the standards for what constitutes "time" on Impact have changed by leaps and bounds over the last two months. By time, I mean that it gets about 6 minutes. Sabin goes for a chair, but Lynn stops him. They argue and Daniels dives onto both of them. In the ring, Storm hits Petey with the Superkick to win. **1/4 In the back, Mitchell tells Abyss that if he doesn't choose the right side tonight, then he would personally reveal Abyss' secret, because he knows it too. In the back, TNA Blond interviews Samoa Joe. He says he doesn't have time for Kurt Angle, because he's moving on to the NWA Title. Team 3D comes out, and they brag about beating The Naturals out of TNA. They say it looks like there's no #1 Contender's right now, so they challenge LAX to put the belts up against them. Brother Runt comes out in the Santa suit, and is awful at acting drunk. Bubba says he has a problem, but he tries to attack them. They throw him off, but it allows LAX to come out and attack the Dudleys. Runt helps his brothers suddenly, and they Powerbomb Runt off the top through Homicide on a table. RUSSO'S COMING FOR THE TAG DIVISION TOO! Ruining tag team wrestling is like Russo's white whale. In a weird pretape, Truth says for his resolution, he's going to stop smoking and leave TNA for Hollywood. PCS - LIMBO CHALLENGE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM1mh3qf3Y4 In the back, TNA Blond interviews Christian, and he says people will know Abyss' secret when he wants them to know. In the back, Tracy pushes Eric Young into a bathroom and says they should negotiate the contract. Eric is clearly terrified, and it's probably because he's never had sex with a man before. Considering Eric's character history since then, it's entirely possible that Tracy turned him gay. Match #2: Robert Roode w/ Ms. Brooks vs. Lance Hoyt Tracy is already back to the ring and not at all disheveled. Either an amazing edit job by TNA, or Eric Young has no stamina. This was awful, but you knew that from reading the name "Lance Hoyt". Roode wins with the Payoff. 3/4* In the back, JB finds Eric coming out of the bathroom, with lipstick all over him and his pants unzipped and his shirt torn. Tracy wasn't wearing lipstick. So uh... There's just a random prostitute in the bathroom? TNA never really fires anyone, so this is probably what Lollipop does now. Match #3: Sting vs. Christian Cage vs. Abyss [NIGHTSTICK ON A POLE MATCH] Tomko and Mitchell are there. There hasn't been much use of a nightstick in this feud. So whath eoirnt['wneru[bwnoe'j hrwobrpoiwqje [wqehonw;seibnfmkodrohgijn pwsfbisodjofkp]ekgt jwr[pj[0-o wFUCK YOU. Sting gets it and hits Christian with it and that is the end of the match. This was short, but not awful. But on principle alone, I can't give this any credit. Crab dick Tenay and DW get in the ring to announce the winners of TNA's 2007 awards... Tag Team of the Year: AJ/Daniels MOTY: AJ/Daniels vs. LAX in Ultimate X Feud of the Year: Joe/Angle, which is bullshit Moment of the Year: Angle headbutts Joe Who to watch in 2007: Kurt Angle They announce Mr. TNA as Samoa Joe, and he comes out to accept on crutches. He thanks everyone, but then Kurt Angle drags out a random woman on the stage. He introduces her as Samoa Joe's girlfriend and then puts her in the Ankle Lock until Joe gives him a rematch. He said it wasn't personal and lets go, and then says it is now, and breaks her ankle by putting it on again. Not a horrible angle, really. But for this kind of a thing to be effective, you have to actually introduce the girl first and establish that she is dating Joe. Also, this works better with a more sympathetic babyface, and not an ass kicker. Fitting end to 2006 though. Fuck you. Taking a break and doing WWE 2011 and 1985 before I give 2007 a try. |

TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR: PREVIOUS WINNERS: 2002: America's Most Wanted 2003: America's Most Wanted 2004: America's Most Wanted 2005: America's Most Wanted OTHER 2006 WINNERS: WWE: Paul London/Brian Kendrick ROH: The Briscoes PWG: Cape Fear CHIKARA: The Kings of Wrestling This is TNA's best year for tag wrestling ever, due to for once not just having one or two great teams, but having several great teams gunning for the belts at points, as well as TV actually supporting tag team wrestling, more than ever in TNA history, allowing the top teams this year to get a ton of points. AMW were completely on fire for the most part, and the series with AJ/Daniels is perfect stuff. AJ/Daniels vs. LAX is probably the best straight up tag FEUD in TNA history. But at the end of the day, AJ/Daniels were only a team for 5 months or so, and LAX only got booked as a real tag team for 6 months. Once again, and for the last time ever, AMW wins it. ![]() 1. WRESTLER OF THE YEAR: PREVIOUS WINNERS: 2002: AJ Styles 2003: AJ Styles 2004: AJ Styles 2005: AJ Styles As I hinted at, this is TNA's most prolific year ever, in terms of quantity of great matches. The greatest matches and best shows in TNA history happened in 2005, but 2006 produced more ***+ matches than any year previously for TNA, due to using TV to mostly focus on great wrestlers like AJ, Daniels, Joe, AMW, Shelley, Sabin, Lethal, LAX, etc. If you asked me when I began 2006 who I thought would win, I would have said Samoa Joe, due to him being still amazing at this point. He was in the running, but he got weighed down by having to carry main eventers who were half-assing it. Christian never had a chance due to underperforming as a babyface. Alex Shelley actually made a brief run at it in the spring, but was shut down by the tag division going on a huge roll from spring 2006 until Bound For Glory. But in the end, like always, WOTY goes to AJ Styles... AND HIS TAG TEAM PARTNER! ![]() 1. AJ STYLES & CHRISTOPHER DANIELS - 102 POINTS (TIE) 2. James Storm 101 3. Chris Harris 100 4. Samoa Joe 89 5.
