WWE Champion: CM Punk, Since 11/20/2011 World Heavyweight Champion: Daniel Bryan, Since 12/18/2011 WWE U.S. Champion: Zack Ryder, Since 12/18/2011 WWE Intercontinental Champion: Cody Rhodes, Since 8/12/2011 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY WWE Tag Team Champions: Air Boom, Since 8/22/2011 WWE Diva's Champion: Beth Phoenix, Since 10/2/2011 WWE Smackdown December 23rd, 2011 Richmond, VA featured an opening segment in which the Big Show came out to the ring and discussed World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan winning the title at TLC; Show then said it took him 9 years to regain the title, then showing footage of his interview on Raw in which he stared down Josh Matthews before walking off; moments later, Henry interrupted, walking out with his ankle taped, and made fun of Show for his short title reign, then telling Show he was better off leaving WWE; Henry then said he wanted a match with Bryan tonight, with Show arguing he should get it; Bryan then walked out, listed all the things that made him an unlikely WWE superstar, but added he was a very good wrestler and was the world champion; Henry then said he wanted a title shot; moments later, Teddy Long walked out and said Henry would face Show later in the show for a title shot; Bryan then shook Show's hand in the ring and offered to shake Henry's hand on the floor only to pull his hand back and run it through his hair TONIGHT: Show vs. MOK in a #1 Contender's Match Match #1: Zack Ryder vs. Cody Rhodes Good 6 minutes or so. Butchered by a commercial, so it didn't get to be great, but was a lot of fun. Booker gets on the announce table to distract Cody at the end, and he then turns around into the Rough Ryder and Ryder gets the moderate upset. **1/2 featured a backstage segment with Long and Santino Marella in which Marella said he wanted to take over as assistant to the general manager, now that Zack Ryder was the US champion; moments later, Aksana walked in and talked with Long; after she left, Vickie Guerrero & Dolph Ziggler walked in, with Ziggler saying he wanted an eventual rematch against Ryder; Ziggler then made fun of Bryan being world champion and told Long to put him in a match against Bryan for later in the night, with Long agreeing and then dancing in excitement The Big Show comes out for the match, but David Otunga comes out. He says as his legal representative, he can say that Mark Henry has not been legally cleared to compete, so the match will not happen. He wishes Show a marry Christmas, so Show responds by knocking him out with the punch to be a dick. included a backstage segment with Long and Mike Mizanin, with Miz asking why he was called to be on the show and Long not knowing anything about it; Miz then ranted about how Long runs his show, saying he would go out to the ring and there wouldn't be a Smackdown superstar that could get him to leave Miz comes out and has his open challenge, and fuckin Sheamus accepts. Match #2: Sheamus vs. The Miz This is not really any good, but at least it is only 3 minutes. Brogue Kick ends it. *3/4 included an in-ring promo by Wade Barrett regarding his feud with Randy Orton, showing footage on the big screen of how he pinned Orton on Smackdown the previous month, did the same at Survivor Series, and then put Orton through a table on Raw; Barrett then said he was after Bryan's World Heavyweight Title; as Barrett went to leave the ring, Orotn ran out, with the two fighting until Barrett escaped backstage; Orton went chasing after, culminating with the two fighting down a hallway, Orton spraying Barrett with a water hose, and dropping him with the RKO on the hood of a car Match #3: Primo vs. Kofi Kingston Bourne, Epico, and Rosa are also there. This is again only 3 minutes, but with a Kofi Kingston match, that is a decision that I support 125% . Kofi wins with The Fucking Kick. *1/2 AWESOME RAW REBOUND Match #4: Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler w/ Vickie Guerrero These two have amazing chemistry and they get a good 10 minutes to do stuff before booking happens. Jack Swagger comes out to interfere after a while, and Big Show comes out to even that out. Awesome Ziggler control seg, full of showing off. He bumps huge on the comeback and they have a few great counters and nearfalls before Swagger gets in. Show chases him inside, and T'Lo comes out and turns it into a tag. *** Match #5: Daniel Bryan/The Big Show vs. Dolph Ziggler/Jack Swagger w/ Vickie Guerrero Good 7 minutes. Daniel and Dolph continue their awesome match, and Show and Jack are there too. Dolph shows great control over his level of bumping as he takes even more insane bumps for the Big Show. Danielson carries Swagger a little bit. Show gets rid of Dolph on the floor, and Danielson makes Swagger tap to the LeBell Lock. **1/2 Show watches as Daniel Bryan celebrates with the belt. |

WWE Champion: CM Punk, Since 11/20/2011 World Heavyweight Champion: Daniel Bryan, Since 12/18/2011 WWE U.S. Champion: Zack Ryder, Since 12/18/2011 WWE Intercontinental Champion: Cody Rhodes, Since 8/12/2011 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY WWE Tag Team Champions: Air Boom, Since 8/22/2011 WWE Diva's Champion: Beth Phoenix, Since 10/2/2011 WWE Raw December 26th, 2011 Chicago, IL Punk's theme plays, BUT JOHN LAURINAITIS WALKS OUT IN A CM PUNK SHIRT OVER HIS SUIT! He goes and does a near perfect impression of Punk's entrance. AMAZING! He says that was a surprise to show how unpredictable and exciting he can be as GM. CM Punk comes out and says he's poking him with a stick, but it won't work. He says he's a big fan and he's letting Punk take the night off! JUST KIDDING! SEE PUNK? I AM UNPREDICTABLE! FUCK YEAH BIG JOHNNY! He books Punk in three matches tonight as a gauntlet match, and says whoever beats him will get a title match. Punk asks what happens when he beats them and says he wants Johnny in a match if he beats all three guys. Johnny says okay, and Punk celebrates. IT BEGINS. Match #1: Booker T vs. Cody Rhodes This gets time, so they get to have a real match. Still very average due to Cody not being the type to carry anyone and Booker being past his prime. But it was certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Cody is too confident before going for the Cross Rhodes, and Booker is able to get out, and he hits the Scissors Kick to win. **1/2 In the back, Ryder thanks Cena and Cena says he doesn't owe him anything and he got himself here and he won the match. Ryder asks what's up with Kane and Cena says he's going to call out Kane. At ringside, they announce that the three opponents in order are Swagger, Ziggler, AND MOK! included a backstage segment in which Big Show was speaking with Kelly Kelly until Scott Armstrong came in and told Show that Laurinaitis needed to urgently speak with him in his office; featured a backstage segment with Laurinaitis, alongside David Otunga, spoke on the phone with Brodus Clay and said he would debut the following week; Show then walked in and was questioned about his punching Otunga on Smackdown, with Laurinaitis setting up a match between the two for later in the show, with Show's arm tied behind his back In the back, Swagger and Ziggler talk. Jack says he'll win easily and Dolph shouldn't even put his gear on. Dolph says maybe if this was 2009 when Jack was still relevant. Vickie calms them down. Match #2: Zack Ryder/Eve vs. Tyson Kidd/Natalya YEAH HART DYNASTY! The Ryder downfall has begun officially, I guess. Now that Eve's entered the picture. Kidd looks great again and Ryder pins him with the Rough Ryder. *3/4 John Cena comes out, and he calls out Kane, but The Miz comes out instead. He brags about beating Cena at WrestleMania, but says he's come to realize that nobody will ever give him the credit he deserves for that, because The Rock tainted his biggest win and career moment. Cena calls for a referee and challenges him to beat him now, and Miz is fine with it. Match #3: John Cena vs. The Miz This lasts about 2 minutes before Miz leaves to cut off Cena's flurry and takes the count out. *1/2 Miz says he beat Cena when it mattered, and he leaves. Miz keeps ranting, BUT R-TRUTH RUNS OUT! YEAH! They brawl and Truth really beats the shit of Miz. He lays him out on the floor and he says he wants every Monday night to feel like Christmas, so he'll take his time getting his revenge, and every week, Miz is gon get got. featured a segment in which Ricardo Rodriguez, wearing a neckbrace, brought out Alberto Del Rio, in a wheelchair, to the entrance stage, with ADR complaining that he tore his groin the previous week; Nikki & Brie Bella then walked out, told the fans to treat ADR with respect, and then argued until ADR yelled at them and sent them backstage; ADR then said he would be back and would be more aggressive than ever Match #4: The Big Show vs. David Otunga This is all of some 90 seconds or so. Show throws Otunga out, and MOK comes out and attacks Show for the DQ. *1/2 Danielson comes out to save and it allows Show to throw MOK out, and he then Chokeslams Otunga. WWE NETWORK. FUCK. Match #5: CM Punk vs. Jack Swagger/Dolph Ziggler/Mark Henry [Gauntlet Match] Jack is first. They have a solid 4 minutes between them. Punk avoids the Ankle Lock and hits a Roundhouse Kick to win. Swagger then chop blocks Punk, and injures his leg before Ziggler comes out. Punk and Ziggler gets out, which takes this from good to great. Ziggler works the leg, and even breaks out the awesome KneeDT/Eventoe DDT move. Punk sells great on the comeback and Johnny comes out to eject Swagger and Vickie as a distraction to the ref while Punk has the Anaconda Vise on. Punk goes for the GTS but Lautinaitis gets on the apron to distract him, AND ZIGGLER HITS THE PEACE ZIG FOR THE WIN! YEAH! *** Kane comes out and before he can say anything, John Cena comes onto the stage. Kane says to stop right there, and he says he's here to help tonight. He tells everyone that John Cena is lying to him by telling people to rise above hate, and says more useful advice is to give into the hate and to use it to your benefit. He says it's good to embrace the hate, and he hates what Cena stands for. Cena says nothing and the crowd chants that Cena sucks and Kane says to embrace the hate, and says the last thing he will hear on Raw in 2011 is the crowd chanting "CENA SUCKS!" and Cena lowers his head and is sad. |

WWE Champion: CM Punk, Since 11/20/2011 World Heavyweight Champion: Daniel Bryan, Since 12/18/2011 WWE U.S. Champion: Zack Ryder, Since 12/18/2011 WWE Intercontinental Champion: Cody Rhodes, Since 8/12/2011 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY WWE Tag Team Champions: Air Boom, Since 8/22/2011 WWE Diva's Champion: Beth Phoenix, Since 10/2/2011 WWE Smackdown December 30th, 2011 Indianapolis, IN TONIGHT: ORTON/WADE IN A FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH! YES! Booker T is in the ring to open the show and he talks about how he's had a great 2011, from the Royal Rumble to doing commentary all year, and says he even beat Cody Rhodes last Monday on Raw. Cody Rhodes comes out and applauds. He says the old dog got a lucky break and says it's good for him. He says the best thing he can do now is return to commentary, because if he tries it again, he'll be exposed as the nostalgia act he is, and if he goes to commentary, he can return to being semi-literate and resting upon his laurels. AND GOLDUST COMES OUT! FUCK YEAH! No make up, so I guess it's just Dustin. Whatever. He says Cody's out of line here, and he says Booker T is one of his best friends and he's the guy who helped him when he was down and out. He says he knows where he's coming from, but he can't let him do it at Booker's expense. YES! FUCK YEAH BOOKER T AND GOLDUST! SHIT YES. Shame Ted's a face now, them vs. Priceless for a night would have truly been the best. Cody says he's busy trying to resurrect the Rhodes name after Goldust vomited all over it and he tells him to go back behind the scenes. Booker challenges Cody to a 3rd match for the belt, and Cody accepts for next week. Booker goes to leave, and Cody cheap shots Dustin with the Disaster, before Booker runs him off. Match #1: Ted DiBiase vs. Jinder Mahal Once again only two minutes, and for Jinder, that is a good thing. He wins with the Camel Clutch. Terrible. I can't believe I'm mad about Ted Jr. losing. Fuck you, Jinder. 3/4* included a backstage segment with Teddy Long and Aksana, with Drew McIntyre eventually walking in and Long telling him that he was very well paid but wasn't meeting his potential and that if he couldn't beat Ezekiel Jackson then he would have to rethink having him on Smackdown DID YOU KNOW: Big Evil still wins Match #2: Natalya/Tamina vs. Alicia Fox/Kaitlyn This is again only like 1 minute and Alicia beats Natalya with the Scissors Kick. DAT SCISSORS KICK. 3/4* Post-match. Tamina hits Nattie with a Superkick and hits the Superfly Splash. In the back, D-Bry is talking to AJ about how it feels to be Champion. Big Show walks over and says hi to AJ and asks if he's ready for their tag match. T'Lo comes over and says their tag match vs. Otunga and MOK is off, but Big Show will face Otunga again tonight, and Mark Henry will be at ringside. Match #3: Hunico w/ Camacho vs. Justin Gabriel Hunico and Camacho's entrance with the bike is fantastic. They again had a great spotfest, despite being only 2 minutes. Camacho shoves Gabriel off the top and Hunico hits a Swanton Bomb to win. ** WWE NETWORK. Match #4: The Big Show vs. David Otunga w/ Mark Henry This is slightly longer than Raw at some 2-3 minutes, but that does not make it any better. Henry interferes, but Bryan comes out and hits him with the belt! It lures Mark to chase him to the back, and it allows Show to hit the KO Punch for the win. 3/4* Match #5: Drew McIntyre vs. Ezekiel Jackson Wait, hold up. Drew was drafted to Raw. Why does T'Lo have any control over his contract? What the fuck? It's still Drew though, and he's great, so they have a nice 4 minutes. Both men hit super fucking hard, and that's fun. Drew gets caught using the ropes, so Zeke then rolls him up using the tights in revenge to win. **1/4 featured a backstage segment in which McIntyre blamed the referee for his loss, with Long telling him that he had no time for losers included an in-ring promo by Sheamus about the Royal Rumble, with Hornswoggle then interrupting and saying he would win the Rumble; Heath Slater then walked out and compared Hornswoggle to Bushwhacker Luke and the Brooklyn Brawler before Sheamus threw Slater over the top to the floor Match #6: Sheamus vs. Heath Slater Good 3 minutes. Slater took gigantic bumps for Sheamus and made him look not mediocre as a babyface. Sheamus kills him with the Brogue Kick to win. ** NEXT WEEK: BRYAN VS. BIG SHOW FOR THE TITLE! Match #7: Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett [Falls Count Anywhere] Falls Count Anywhere matches can be great if you have two guys with imagination. These are two guys without any imagination against each other, as their prior matches have clearly illustrated by being the most bland and cookie cutter matches possible. They use it as an excuse to throw each other into stuff and to allow the camera to see them clearly pulling stuff. They fight into an elevator and the camera has to run down the stairs to catch them, and when they get there, Wade is standing on top of a staircase, and Orton is at the bottom. And that ends the match, because Wade walks out of the building. I guess Wade forgot the rules and doesn't want to win? *3/4 |

MVP AWARD: PREVIOUS WINNERS: 1996: Shawn Michaels 1997: Bret Hart/Steve Austin 1998: Steve Austin 2000: The Rock/Triple H 2001: Steve Austin 2005: Eddie Guerrero 2007: John Cena This is not given every year, and thus is pretty prestigious. It goes out, on the rare occasion, to the man who is unable to win WOTY due to untimely injury or not working the whole year, but still completely carried his company or brand while he was there, and thus was the most valuable player. This man is perhaps the least likely MVP winner ever. Underachieving for most of his career and run due to being super inexperienced when he was on TV the most in the Attitude Era. Then he didn't really "get it" until 2003, and then got injured. He returned and had flashes of greatness from 2006-2009, then turned face and was forgotten about. Then after not being on TV almost at all before the end of April, they took a chance turning this man heel. And he delivered like nobody else. He was off TV for about a month at a point, but when he came back in the summer, he was the best monster heel in the company in the last 5 years and the best talker in the company on a consistent basis. He put on a completely unbelievable rally, points-wise, and had he not only worked one or two matches in the last month of 2011, there's a great chance he would have been Wrestler of the Year, like he deserved. But he didn't, and that's why this exists. ![]() 2011 WINNER: MARK HENRY Edited by Big Tuna, Jul 17 2012, 09:42 PM.

WWE Tag Wrestling has really kind of sucked since the end of 2009, to be honest. Lacks focus, TV Time, and a really great team to build the division around. But for about six months in 2011-12, there was such a great team. Although, let's be fair, this award mostly belongs to Evan Bourne. ![]() 1. AIR BOOM - 50 POINTS 2. The Usos 33 3. JackDolph 28 4. WRESTLER OF THE YEAR: PREVIOUS WINNERS: 1984: Tito Santana 1985: Tito Santana 1990: Mr. Perfect 1991: Mr. Perfect 1992: Randy Savage 1993: Bret Hart 1994: Bret Hart 1995: Bret Hart 1996: Steve Austin 1997: Owen Hart 1998: The Rock 1999: X-Pac 2000: Chris Benoit 2001: Chris Jericho 2002: Eddie Guerrero 2003: Chris Benoit 2004: Chris Benoit 2005: Chris Benoit 2006: John Cena 2007: Matt Hardy 2008: CM Punk 2009: Rey Mysterio 2010: Dolph Ziggler This may be the most this award has fluctuated, in terms of the number of people it swung to. John Morrison had an inexplicable lead for the first few months. The natural order started to emerge as CM Punk and Rey Mysterio battled for it. Daniel Bryan took a lead for a week or two as well. You had your guys who are always up there like John Cena, Randy Orton, Cody, etc. Dolph wasn't getting used that well for the first half and the ShowKane feud allowed Rey to pull into the lead at the end of June. Then Rey dropped. Then CM Punk got occupied with the clusterfuck with Triple H and Awesome Truth and didn't have great chemistry with R-Truth. All while Randy Orton had amazing in-ring rivalries with Mark Henry and Christian and got to wrestle twice a week, often against Ziggler. And as such, we had a super super super dramatic final two months as Orton tried to hang on. Ziggler had one of the greatest rallies I've ever seen in a WOTY points list. Rey had a rally to win in 2009, as did John Cena in 2006. But Ziggler went from a guy who was #11 or #12, and started racking up points and found himself in the top 5. Mark rallied and came close, before going down with injury. CM Punk had a great string of matches in December, and more importantly, Orton had the horrible feud with Wade. It came down to the final match for each man. And your 2011 Wrestler of the Year... ![]() 1.
