WWF Champion: Hulk Hogan, Since 1/23/1984 - LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION CURRENTLY
WWF Intercontinental Champion: Randy Savage , Since 2/8/1986
WWF Tag Team Champions: The British Bulldogs, Since 4/7/1986

WWF Championship Wrestling
April 19th, 1986
Poughkeepsie, NY

Match #1: The Iron Sheik/Nikolai Volkoff w/ Freddie Blassie vs. Terry Morgan/Ivan MacDonald

Solid squash. Sheiky baby's suplexes return for a bit. Camel Clutch wins.
*1/4

WWF UPDATE:
-Clips air of the celebrities at Mania 2

Match #2: Adrian Adonis w/ Jimmy Hart vs. Mario Mancini
This happened. Cobra Clutch ends it.
*

GENE INTERVIEWS:
-Albano cuts a lunatic promo half in Italian and brags about managing the champions once again

Match #3: The Killer Bees vs. Joe Mirto/Tiger Chung Lee
FUCK THE KILLER FUCKING BEES. GODDAMNIT. I hate them more and more every time. Blair wins with a sunset flip. Jesus Christ, get a finisher, you fucking goons.
*

GENE INTERVIEWS:
-Ted Arcidi does not like Studd now

Match #4: Hoss Funk w/ Jimmy Hart vs. Nelson Veilleux
I hope this doesn't mean Terry is gone. Dory is painfully dull. He does nothing interesting and has no real in-ring charisma. Piledriver ends it.
3/4*

It is time for Piper's Pit and he says it's a shame he missed the snake, but he's back now. He brings on King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd. They challenge Andre the Giant to find a partner to face them next week and Studd says they're THIS close to ending his career.

Highlights air of Dream Team/Bulldogs at Mania.

Match #5: Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth vs. Sal Gee
Great Savage squash, as he gets around 3 minutes to really show off his offense and insane speed. It's almost unfair how naturally great Randy Savage was. DAT MUSIC makes it perhaps the greatest all around package ever. Flying Elbow ends it.

Randy Savage [c] w/ Miss Elizabeth vs. Tito Santana [WWF Intercontinental Championship - No DQ], MSG (April 22nd)
Easily the MOTY so far. Wouldn't be shocked if this ran away with the whole thing, but they have at least 4 other singles matches this year. No stalling, crazy Savage bumps, etc. Really wild and out of control vibe for the first half, and then Savage is busted open BAD. Tito goes nuts on it, but the ref is taken out. TITO HITS THE FLYING FOREARM AND HAS HIM DOWN! BUT THE REF IS OUT! Ref gets up and Savage gets a roll up with the tights to win. Kind of an abrupt finish, but I like it in theory, since it allows for lots more matches.

Oops.

Ricky Steamboat & King Tonga defeated the Gladiator & Steve Lombardi at 3:25 when Steamboat pinned Gladiator with the flying bodypress

Hercules (w/ Freddie Blassie) defeated Mario Mancini via submission with a backbreaker at 2:50

Tito Santana & Pedro Morales defeated Mr. X & AJ Petruzzi at 3:13 when Santana pinned Petruzzi with the flying forearm

Hillbilly Jim & Ted Arcidi (sub. for Andre the Giant) defeated Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy via disqualification at 2:33 when Studd & Bundy illegally double teamed their opponents and attacked referee Gilberto Roman

Jake Roberts pinned Andre Malo with the DDT at 2:34

George Steele & the Junkyard Dog (w/ the Haiti Kid) defeated Iron Mike Sharpe & Dave Barbie at 4:30 when JYD pinned Barbie with the powerslam

Tito Santana vs. Bob Orton, Detroit (April 26th)
Great stuff. Really fast paced for the 10 minutes it went, everything was super crisp and good looking, etc. Orton gets a crossbody off the ropes from an irish whip and Tito rolls through and into a cradle for the win.
**3/4

Hulk Hogan [c] vs. Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth [WWF Championship], Detroit (April 26th)

This is their longest match yet, at some 15 minutes, and it is their greatest one yet. These are two of the best guys in the company (Savage is clearly #1, and Hogan isn't on the level of Tito or Steamboat, but he's at his peak and is capable of greatness), but in their prior matches, it was more just Savage being plugged into a Hogan formula. It's still that way here, but Hogan has more vicious offense and Savage gets a little more in, so it works better. Hulk Up after the elbow is again ridiculous. Hogan block a second one with his boot and covers to win.

WWF Championship Wrestling
May 3rd, 1986
Poughkeepsie, NY

Match #1: The Dream Team w/ Johnny Valiant vs. Tony Garea/Don Driggers

Solid squash. Don taps out to the Figure Four.
*1/4

WWF UPDATE:
-Clips air of the finish to Funks vs. Tito/JYD at Mania 2

Match #2: Ricky Steamboat vs. Al Navarro
Good stuff. Usual Steamboat fare, working the arm, some chops, etc. Crossbody ends the match.
*1/2

GENE INTERVIEWS:
-Next Boston show is 5/24
-Volkoff and Sheik come on and say they are still the World Tag Team Champions and that they will win because no British athletes have ever won Olympic medals like Iranian and Russian athletes. Sheik says they beat Americans and threatens to choke Gene and says he can't wait to pound the Bulldog, and he slaps Gene when he tries to tell him that there are two Bulldogs

Match #3: The Iron Sheik/Nikolai Volkoff w/ Freddie Blassie vs. Scott McGhee/John Centeno
Blassie joins commentary and challenges Kirschner to fight Sheik next week. This is a good squash for the new title challengers. Lots of Sheik stuff. Camel Clutch gets the victory for them.
*1/2

GENE INTERVIEWS:
-He brings in Ricky Steamboat. He says he's got his eye on Savage and the IC Title down the line, but he hears a snake has been calling out the dragon. YES! Steamboat goes through Jake's ritual with Damien and says he's made quite an impact.

Match #4: The British Bulldogs vs. Psycho Capone/Paul Christy
Another awesome Bulldogs squash. Violence to jobbers, awesome strength spots, etc. Davey beats one of them with the Running Powerslam.
**

Piper's Pit is done with, as Roddy is on an extended vacation. :(

The Flower Shop is replacing it. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The crowd chants "FAGGOT" at him, and he brings on Hillbilly Jim as his guest. Adonis is a huge faggot and brags about putting out Uncle Elmer. Adonis gives him a flower and Jim throws it down and leaves. I already hate this show.

Match #5: Jake Roberts vs. Serge Jodain
Awesome Jake squash, once again. Bobby Heenan comes on commentary and complains about Andre not showing up last week, and he says he was running scared and he should be suspended for no-showing. Jake wins with the DDT in about 75 seconds.
*3/4

Jake puts Damien on top of the jobber once again.

Match #6: Tito Santana/Paul Orndorff vs. Randy Savage/Bob Orton w/ Miss Elizabeth
HOLY SHIT, WHAT?! THIS WAS FUCKING AMAAAAAZING FOR THE 4 MINUTES IT GOT! Pretty much every pairing is a ton of fun, the best one clearly being Savage/Tito. It breaks down big time at the end, and Tito beats Savage with the Flying Forearm!

WWF SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT
MAY 3RD, 1986
PROVIDENCE, RI

TONIGHT: Snake vs. Dragon! Bundy vs. Elmer! Bulldogs vs. Sheik/Volkoff for the belts! Mr. Wonderful vs. FAGGOT ADONIS! Hogan/JYD vs. The Funks!

Tonight, Ventura is replaced by Bobby Heenan.

In the back, Gene interviews The Funks and Jimmy Hart. Terry threatens Gene and Gene shows footage of them cheating to win at WrestleMania 2. Jimmy Hart brings in Jimmy Jack Funk to take out Haiti Kid at ringside.

In the back, Gene is with Hogan and JYD and Haiti. Hogan says Haiti will be their counter for Jimmy Hart. He says Haiti has a lot more heart than Jimmy Hart. JYD then says words.

Match #1: Hulk Hogan/The Junkyard Dog w/ The Haiti Kid vs. The Funk Brothers w/ Jimmy Hart
After the promo, Jimmy Jack Funk is nowhere to be found. Well, okay then. Decent for what's involved. Good comedy to begin, with Hogan doing JYD spots and JYD tearing off his t-shirt and doing a Big Boot and the Hogan poses. JYD and Dory are still mostly useless. Hogan beats Terry with the AXE BOMBAH~ and the Legdrop.
**1/4

Match #2: King Kong Bundy vs. Uncle Elmer

This happened. Too much stuff that wasn't two fast dudes slamming against each other and throwing each other. Bundy hits the Avalanche and an elbow drop to win.
*

In the back, Gene interviews Adonis. He has a cut out of Paul and says he's a greek god and he can't wait to wrestle him tonight. Typical gay gimmick bullshit. Wouldn't even be so bad if Adonis hadn't shown what he was capable of in 1984. But he did, and this is a huge waste of his talents.

Match #3: Paul Orndorff vs. Adrian Adonis w/ Jimmy Hart
This is good enough. It gets time to be good, and Adonis has some fun stalling. He also wrestles the match in a fat lady dress. Good control seg, and then Orndorff makes a comeback. He pulls off the dress finally, and chokes Adonis with it. The ref tries to pull him off, but he throws him across the ring for the DQ.
**1/4

Clips air from the Hogan/Bundy match from WrestleMania 2.

In the back, Gene interviews Ricky Steamboat. He says it is the snake vs. the dragon, and he's seen too many fine young men get humiliated with that snake, and he won't tolerate it. He shows footage of Jake's squash at Mania 2, and Steamboat says Jake might be the one humiliated tonight.

Steamboat comes out for the match with Jake in the ring, and Jake attacks him on the apron! He falls to the floor. Jake Roberts follows AND HITS THE DDT ON THE FLOOR! Steamboat is out cold, and Jake pulls him up and shoves him in the ring. He pulls him out to the middle, and puts Damien over Steamboat's unconscious body until referees come out to make him leave. Steamboat is then stretchered out. Great angle.

Match #4: The British Bulldogs [c] vs. The Iron Sheik/Nikolai Volkoff [WWF Tag Team Championship - Best of Three Falls]
No idea why this got that stipulation when it was like 10 minutes long, but hey. Sheik beats Dynamite to go 1-0 in about 90 seconds with the Camel Clutch. Davey works most of this, due to Dynamite being injured. He later sends Nikolai into Sheik on the apron and gets a schoolboy to even it up. Dynamite has a good hot tag, despite the injury. Dynamite gets put in the Camel Clutch, but Davey pulls him down into an inside cradle, despite being the illegal man, for the win.

Bret Hart vs. Jim Brunzell, Toronto (May 4th)
Brunzell is the worst, and Bret does what he can with him. Super precise elbows and what not, great control stuff. Brunzell is still a total faggot, and refuses to take any actual bumps. Bret isn't anything more than a solid wrestler at this point, but he could have had this match with anyone. He gets DQ'd for dropping Brunzell dick-first on the top rope. Fucking referees.
**

Jim Neidhart vs. B. Brian Blair, Toronto (May 4th)

This was much better, because these are two actually good wrestlers. Funny how that works. Bret vs. Blair would be the best possible match of this feud. Great storytelling with speed vs. power. Heenan goes off on how the door at WrestleMania 2 was too small, and Hogan knew it, which is why he came in and left over the top of the cage. Anyways, Neidhart takes over with cheating and then uses his power. Blair gets a flash Sunset Flip to win.
**1/2

Randy Savage [c] w/ Miss Elizabeth vs. Tito Santana [WWF Intercontinental Championship - No DQ], Toronto (May 4th)

This is very similar to the MSG match, but it's shot better and laid out smarter, making it a better match as a whole. They also have a lot more space at ringside due to the building lay out, so they can brawl into the crowd here without killing anybody. Gruesome Savage bladejob again, and the wide shot on the punch off makes it look better than MSG, which lacked that shot. More organic ref bump than MSG, but the same finish.
***3/4

Harley Race vs. SD Jones, Toronto (May 4th)

This is Race's first match in this return. Enjoyable Harley bumping. He takes over, and everything looks super measured and crisp. Race wins with a Shoulderbreaker and then a Powerslam.

Match #1: George Steele/The Junkyard Dog w/ Capt. Lou Albano vs. Tiger Chung Lee/Mike Angelo

This sure happened.
THUMP HAIR.

WWF UPDATE:
-Lord Al talks about Jake Roberts and Damien

Match #2: Jimmy Jack Funk/Hoss Funk w/ Jimmy Hart vs. Dan King/Andre Malo
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Without Terry, why do they even use the fucking name? Fuck you, Dory. They win. Heenan comes on commentary again to blame Andre and demand a suspension.
1/2*

GENE INTERVIEWS:
-Hogan vs. Savage for the WWF Title will happen in Boston on 5/24!
-Hogan does a pretape and he says he likes how things are turning out, with Hulkamania catching on and he finally has a rival like Savage, who's smart instead of big. He says Savage is only #1 Contender because of Jack Tunney having eyes for Elizabeth. Dick move, Hogan. He says he won;'t distracted like those other jabronis he's beaten in Boston. WHAT THE FUCK?! Hogan was so likeable through this point, now he's shitting all over Savage and Tito and Tunney for no real reason.

Match #3: The Killer Bees vs. Iron Mike Sharpe/Joe Mirto
Horrible episode so far. Blair beats Mirto with a Powerslam.
*

GENE INTERVIEWS:
-Corp. Kirschner comes in. Fuck you.

Match #4: Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth vs. Serge Jodoin
Too short to really be great, but Savage delivers the goods yet again. Flying Elbow does the deal.
*3/4

It is time for The Flower Shop and since this show is terrible and The Dream Team are the guests, I refuse.

Match #5: Corp. Kirschner vs. The Iron Sheik w/ Freddie Blassie
Sheik does what he can for a 2 minute match with this total jabrone. Volkoff comes down to interefere for the DQ. Thank God.
*

They beat on Corp., but then proving once again that they hate everything good about the WWF and love everything horrible, The Killer Bees run out to make the save. HORRIBLE. Jim Brunzell has completely corrupted the once fantastic B. Brian Blair. :(

TONIGHT: Bulldogs vs. Bundy/Studd

Match #1: King Tonga/Ted Arcidi vs. Dave Barbie/The Gladiator
Arcidi is a useless bodybuilder, but Meng does what he can. Goes on far too long and Arcidi is in for most of it, so Meng's not getting points tonight. Arcidi wins with a Bear Hug.
3/4*

WWF UPDATE:
-They air the Steamboat/Roberts angle, and Lord Al says Steamboat has recovered and wants revenge

Match #2: The Hart Foundation w/ Jimmy Hart vs. Lanny Poffo/Don Driggers
Solid squash. Too much shitty jobber offense to begin, but once the Harts took over, it became great. Hart Attack does it.
*1/2

SOME JACKOFF WHO ISN'T GENE INTERVIEWS:
-Hulk Hogan comes on and says it's all going down at the Boston Gardens, brother. He says this match will be outrageous, dude. He says he doesn't trust Elizabeth, but he's seen everything she has already, so she won't be a distraction. Wait, what? JESUS, NO FUCKING WONDER SAVAGE DIDN'T TRUST HOGAN YEARS LATER. He says Savage stole the title from Tito Santana, but he won't steal his title, because Hulkamania is too powerful for him. WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN THE 24 INCH PYTHONS RUN WILD ON YOU?!

Match #3: Hillbilly Jim/Pedro Morales vs. Moondog Spot/Cyclone Capone
Hahahaha nope!

JACKOFF INTERVIEWS:
-Fucking Kirschner. No thanks.

Match #4: Hercules Hernandez w/ Freddie Blassie vs. Mike Saxton
Typical HH bullshit. Torture Rack ends it.
1/2*

It is time for The Flower Shop, and his guests are Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth, which is really the only reason I haven't skipped it. He compliments Liz's make up and says he's jealous. Savage says nobody should be jealous, like Hogan and Tito, and they need to just accept the way things are.

Match #5: Tito Santana/Danny Spivey vs. Steve Lombardi/Paul Christy
Spivey is dressed EXACTLY like Barry Windham was and uses all of his offense, so he cannot help but come off as a shitty clone. Tito is great though. Spivey beats Christy with a shitty looking Bulldog.
*1/4

Match #6: The British Bulldogs vs. King Kong Bundy/Big John Studd

Both managers are at ringside. This was a fun 4-5 minutes. The Bulldogs use speed and teamwork to stay alive. Studd looks the best he has since the beginning of 1984, for whatever reason. Studd throws the ref down when he tries to get them out of the corner, so that is a DQ.
**

Bundy tries the Avalanche on Davey, but he moves and the Bulldogs leave. Bundy and Studd then argue.

Match #1: Danny Spivey/Mike Rotundo vs. Steve Lombardi/Paul Christy

MOTHERFUCK. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORN IN THE USSSSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. IT'S BACK. FUCK YOU, BILL WATTS. It is now that I realize that even while he was very inexperienced, the US Express doesn't work without Windham in there. This was really not much good at all. Rotundo beats Lombardi with the Airplane Spin.
3/4*

WWF UPDATE:
-Gene is in charge this week
-He recaps Bundy/Hogan from WrestleMania 2 and shows clips

Match #2: Harley Race w/ Bobby Heenan vs. John Centeno
Harley is a fine squasher. He's clearly past his prime, but he has enough great offense to fill up 3 minutes of a squash. He wins with a Slingshot Suplex.
**

HORRIBLE BLAND GUY INTERVIEWS:
-Kirschner is still the worst speaker

Match #3: Ricky Steamboat vs. Ron Shaw
Good stuff. Not great, as Steamboat works a lot of chinlocks, which is not his forte. But still good, since it's Ricky Steamboat. And since it is, in fact, Ricky Steamboat, he wins with the Crossbody.
*3/4

INTERVIEWS:
-The Hogan promo from last week is aired again

Match #4: The Dream Team w/ Johnny Valiant vs. George Wells/Mike Saxton
Good stuff. I love Wells. He is awesome. Greg gets real valiant. Bobby Heenan comes on commentary and says Andre has been suspended for the no-show last month. Greg wins with the Figure Four on Saxton.
*3/4

It is time for The Flower Shop, and Muraco and Fuji are on. They bring him some flowers as a gift and they talk about how they don't like Mr. Wonderful and Hogan and Muraco says they have no taste, with their stupid robes and torn rags on their heads. Adonis then signs off by saying to drive safe.

The INCREDIBLE "Real American" video airs once again.

Match #5: The Killer Bees vs. The Iron Sheik/Nikolai Volkoff w/ Freddie Blassie
If there weren't two all-time great teams like the Harts and Bulldogs on the roster at this point, I would be worried about the Bees stumbling into a Tag Team of the Year win due to being on TV more than the other teams, seemingly. This isn't good, but unfortunately, it is not bad enough to just write "fuck them" and give it no points. The Bees break out their masks to pull a twin switch and one of them rolls up Nikolai. WHAT THE FUCK? YOU'RE BABYFACES, STOP THAT.

Hulk Hogan [c] vs. Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth [WWF Championship], Boston (May 24th)
Their best match yet! Perhaps Savage's best stalling job yet, as it goes from cowardly stuff into genuinely hilarious comedy responses from Hogan. Hogan does an amazing job mocking Savage, and even puts on his glasses and goes the finger twirling at one point. There's not a real good camera shot of it, or I would provide a screencap, unfortunately. They eventually have a fucking great match. Savage has a great control seg, and this is the biggest beating Hogan has taken in a title match since probably the bloodbath vs. Sheik in Philadelphia. He gets thrown THROUGH the barricade, into the post, takes the axehandle to the floor, etc. They do a false Hulk Up and Hogan accidentally kills the ref with the AXE BOMBAH. AND SAVAGE TAKES THE BELT AND COMES OFF THE TOP TO HIT HOGAN WITH IT ON THE FLOOR! Hogan gets a massive bladejob from it and is counted out. Fuck it, I dug it enough to go all the way on it.

Match #1: Corp. Kirschner vs. Bob Bradley

Horrible 5 minute squash. Way too long, especially for this barely trained hack bullshit fake Sarge.
1/90*

WWF UPDATE:
-Clips air of George Steele squashes

Match #2: The Funks w/ Jimmy Hart vs. Lanny Poffo/Chris Duffy
Seriously, Terry is gone. This is thus incredibly useless? Jimmy Jack is bland and Dory is the worst. Dory's Boston Crab ends it.
1/2*

They hog tie Duffy post-match.

THAT GENERIC BLOND FUCK INTERVIEWS:
-Hulk Hogan comes out and says everyone is talking about losing to Savage last Saturday and how close it was. He says it doesn't matter and Savage deserves no credit for that. What a fucking dick. He says Savage did get closer than anyone else, and he did beat him. Not for the title, but a win is a win, sure. He says he's figured him out though, and Savage won't ever get that close again, brother, and he's gonna win the rematch.

Match #3: Paul Orndorff vs. Dave Barbie
Another awesome and super aggressive Orndorff squash. He hits the Piledriver, but then hits another one for good measure.
**

INTERVIEWS:
-Bobby Heenan comes on and says if Savage is any kind of a man, he will defend the WWF Championship against King Kong Bundy or Big John Studd, because the countdown is on and after June 27th in Boston, there will finally be a new WWF Champion! The hype for this match is really fantastic.

Match #4: Don Muraco/Bob Orton w/ Mr. Fuji vs. Scott McGhee/Don Driggers
I miss the Pit so much, but I'm glad Orton is getting to wrestle regularly again. Muraco and Orton made an amazing tag team here. Basic, painful looking offense. Orton beats Scott with the Superplex.
**

Vince has an interview with Lou Albano. He says he's appealing the decision to suspend Andre, because he thinks Heenan bribed people to get this decision made or that something else fishy is going on here and he thinks the people deserve to see the man who's been undefeated for 15 years or something like that, etc.

It is time for The Flower Shop and since the guests are the Bulldogs, I am skipping it.

Ricky Steamboat joins commentary for the next match.

Match #5: Jake Roberts vs. Rick Hunter
Jake gets a lot of time to show off and be an evil motherfucker. The DDT ends it.
**

AS SOON AS THE BELL RINGS, STEAMBOAT BOLTS DOWN TO THE RING AND ATTACKS! YEAH! Jake leaves, and people pull Ricky back.

INTERVIEW:
-Randy Savage comes on. He says that was an injustice in Boston one week ago, and he had Hogan beat with the ref down, and he even beat the Hulkster. He says Madness fans have been coming up and saying he's the uncrowned champion, the People's Champion, and it cannot be denied. JUNE 27TH, MADNESS IS GONNA DO THE THING, YEAH.

Paul Orndorff vs. Don Muraco w/ Mr. Fuji, Philadelphia (May 31st)
SO DISAPPOINTING. I figured this might be decent, since they're both big guys who like to beat the fuck out of people. They generally just have a match with each other, and Orndorff wins as he slides in from the floor at 10 to avoid a count out after a brawl.
**

Randy Savage [c] w/ Miss Elizabeth vs. Tito Santana [WWF Intercontinental Championship - No DQ], Philadelphia (May 31st)

And the feud of the year comes to Philadelphia! After being jumped in the previous matches, SAVAGE THROWS LIZ AT TITO AND JUMPS HIM FIRST THIS TIME! This has a lot of the same spots, but is less of a theatrical well put together big bloodbath like MSG and Toronto, but more of a straight up fight with a lot more brutal looking punches and kicks to the face. It's better than MSG as a result, but is just a shade less great than Toronto. The ref bump here is also better, as a bloody and hurt Savage decides to punch the ref this time to save the belt, but he then turns into the Flying Forearm! They then do the same finish as the other two No DQ matches.
***3/4

Ricky Steamboat vs. Jake Roberts, Philadelphia (May 31st)

This is great! Steamboat is pissed and fiery and Jake is able to take advantage of him not thinking 100% clearly to trick him into disadvantageous positions, like crawling back in through the ropes or swinging in the corner, or on the floor, etc. Most of which Jake can capitalize on. They end up going to a double DQ after they both shove the ref away.

Match #1: The New US Express vs. Terry Gibbs/Joe Mirto

Overly long and dull squash. Spivey wins with the Bulldog.
1/2*

WWF UPDATE:
-Clips of Sheiky baby and Volkoff killing jobbers

Match #2: The Hart Foundation w/ Jimmy Hart vs. Jose Luis Rivera/Don Driggers
They get 3 minutes for the first time in a while, and get to put on another great squash as a result. All the usual stuff, and the Hart Attack beats Driggers.
**

SOME FAG INTERVIEWS:
-Jake Roberts shoves him off and takes the mic. He says Ricky Steamboat made a mistake going after him at SNME, and that was his first mistake. His second was allowing him to hit the DDT. He says everyone wants to know why he likes the DDT and why he puts Damien on top of people, but it's simpler than most people think. He gets off on it. That's all there is to it. He says Steamboat won't get a third strike, because he only allows two. Because when you've got the DDT, you make the rules.

Match #3: King Tonga/Ted Arcidi vs. Moondog Spot/The Gladiator
Arcidi is still awful and drags it down. Tonga gets in at the very end and beats Gladiator with the Jumping Headbutt.
3/4*

INTERVIEWS:
-Mr. Fuji says Orndorff will pay his dues to the Magnificent One. Muraco says at one time, Paul was Wonderful, he was all the rage. But now, he's tilting at windmills, picking fights he can never win. Muraco is the best.

Match #4: Big John Studd/Hercules Hernandez w/ Bobby Heenan & Freddie Blassie vs. Rob Van Winkel/Jim Powers
Well, this sucked. But you could have guessed that.

Flower Shop. No thanks.

Match #5: Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth vs. Bob McNeil
Great 90 second squash. Flying Elbow ends it.
*3/4

Match #6: The British Bulldogs w/ Capt. Lou Albano vs. Bob Bradley/AJ Petruzzi

Good, but a squash does not need 5 minutes. 3 minutes is basically the perfect time. Still, Bulldogs looked great. They win with the Ode to Themselves.

Match #2: Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth vs. Jerry Monti
Savage again only gets like 90 seconds, but it delivers. Flying Elbow ends the match.
*1/2

INTERVIEWS:
-Don Muraco says Boston is his city, and he put Boston on the map as a wrestling city. He says Paul wishes he was still Wonderful, but he is still Magnificent

Match #3: Ricky Steamboat vs. Jack Kruger
Awesome squash, due to Ricky being fired up and using a lot more strikes.
**

INTERVIEWS:
-Hogan demands the WWF just take the title off of him if everyone thinks Randy Savage is so great and says his time ain't over with this belt yet, and Savage is a distant #2. He says he's going beyond the outer limits with Randy Savage, dude, and he's insinuating that because he got his hand raised, that makes him America's new leader. Wait, what? Hogan gets extra insane when discussing Savage due to how threatened he is, clearly

Match #4: The Dream Team vs. Ricky Thompson/Mike Lucca
You know what you get here, nothing special. Figure Four ends it.
*1/4

It is time for The Flower Shop, with his guest Paul Orndorff. He says Paul is taking a backseat to Hulk Hogan, and Paul says he's not 2nd best ever and he doesn't take a backseat to anyone. He tries to get him mad by saying Hogan moves more dolls and gets more cheers than him. He says Hulk Hogan is his friend, and he won't let him stir up trouble.

Match #5: Big John Studd w/ Bobby Heenan vs. Two Unknowns [Bodyslam Match]
This is what it is. Studd easily wins.
Fart

Heenan says nobody can slam him, BUT FUCKING KING TONGA COMES OUT, AND HE EASILY SLAMS HIM! GOD. DAMN. RIGHT.

INTERVIEWS:
-Randy Savage comes on and says justice will go the Macho Man's way on June 27th. He says he'll win again, but this time the belt will be his and he's leaving nothing to the imagination. Savage says Hogan's reign is over, and he knows it, because he's been inflicted with Macho Madness, and he knows he has until June 27th to hold the WWF Title! YEAH!

Don't have the 6/21 show, so next time I jump back into this, we'll do the Hogan/Savage match, which has had the best build for a non-TV match since the Sarge/Sheik Boot Camp Match.

Hulk Hogan [c] vs. Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth [WWF Championship], Boston (June 27th)
Savage jumps Hogan before the bell, and comes off the top with the belt to the back in a callback to the last match. This is really good, but not great like their last match. They did something really special last time, and now they go back to their usual match with Hogan dominating like 75% of it. And Hogan Hulks Up out of the Flying Elbow and easily wins with the Big Boot and Legdrop. Fuck, that was infuriating. Feels like Hogan did his best to quell the growing inferno of Savage's momentum. So hey, this is the first time I've really started to hate Hogan in this whole 80s project on any kind of a sustained level.

Randy Savage [c] w/ Miss Elizabeth vs. Paul Orndorff [WWF Intercontinental Championship], Philadelphia (June 28th)

Good, not quite great, due to it only getting some eight minutes. Total house show performance. Still, really fun basic match. They do a great job working holds, and you forget how great Savage is at that too, since he most often works these fast pace action filled brawls. He goes to the ropes to escape a hold, and someone yells "GOD DAMNIT RANDY, YOU FUCKING PUSSY!" They do your token count out finish and Randy loses, but retains.

Awesome Muraco squash. One of his great violent showcases, and he wins with the Tombstone.
**

Tito does what he can, and he wins with the Flying Forearm on Anderson.
*1/2

INTERVIEWS:
-KOTR hype

Match #4: Paul Orndorff vs. Max Blue
Good squash, but only 90 seconds unfortunately. Piledriver gets the win for Mr. Wonderful.
*1/2

Paul cups his ear to the fans post-match in a nice little thing to build up the oncoming feud.

Bobby Heenan interrupts from on the set of The Flower Shop, and he says the fans might cheer him, but he's second best to Hulk Hogan in their eyes. Heenan challenges Paul Orndorff to get his buddy Hulk Hogan and fight King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd in that ring next week, and Orndorff accepts, and says all he has to do is to go make a call to his pal Hulk Hogan.

Match #5: The British Bulldogs vs. Mike Lucca/Ricky Thompson
Great squash as usual. Ode to Themselves gets the win over the jobbers.
**

Vince and Bruno hype up the tag match for next week, but Paul Orndorff comes on, upset. Vince asks if he made the call and Paul says he's been trying to call Hogan for the last 5 minutes, but he's not picking up. Paul storms off and Vince says maybe he's working out or busy or something.

Match #1: The Junkyard Dog/George Steele w/ Capt. Lou Albano vs. Steve LombardiGino Carabello

Oh my god, awful.
1/7*

WWF UPDATE:
-Footage airs of Savage cheating to beat Tito for the IC Title for some reason
-Savage does a quick pretape and says lots of people see things that didn't happen, yeah.

Match #2: Bob Orton/The Funks w/ Jimmy Hart vs. SD Jones/Mario Mancini/Don Driggers
Bob Orton is great enough to carry his team enough so that this is merely mediocre instead of awful. Jimmy Jac beats Don with a Powerslam.
*1/4

Driggers is hogtied post-match.

INTERVIEWS:
-KOTR stuff

Match #3: Billy Jack Haynes vs. Rusty Brooks
BJH is a slightly better power guy than Hercules. He wins with a Full Nelson.
*

More KOTR build.

Match #4: Jake Roberts vs. Eric Hooper
Jake delivers another really amazing squash. Everything is super calculated and violent looking. DDT is obviously the end.
**

It is now time for The Flower Shop, and he brings on his guests, Hulk Hogan and Paul Orndorff. Orndorff says he finally talked to Hogan today, and says next week, they're going to face The Moondogs as a warm up, and Hogan says they're coming for Bundy and Studd the week after that.

Match #5: The Killer Bees vs. Jack Kruger/Roger Kirby
JESUS, THIS WENT SIX MINUTES? FUCK. Brunzell has the genius idea to work even with the jobbers, and Blair then restores order at points. They do the masked switch in a fucking jobber match and do the Dropkick Hart Attack to win. This was the worst squash yet, as they forget it's a squash and give the jobbers, who sucked, a real match.
1/4*

A video airs of The Super Machines in Japan, and Vince says they are coming to the WWF. Bobby Heenan rushes on as they then sign off, and yells that the big one is Andre The Giant, and this isn't fair.

Harley Race w/ Bobby Heenan vs. Tony Garea, MSG (July 12th)
Another great Harley squash. Slingshot Suplex ends it. Harley needs to be on TV more.
**

Tito Santana/Bruno Sammartino vs. Randy Savage/Adrian Adonis [Steel Cage Match], MSG (July 12th)

This is great for a Bruno match. He's useless as usual, but Savage vs. Tito is the greatest and Adonis doesn't embarrass himself. Savage takes huge, gigantic bumps to make Bruno still look good. And against Tito, but that's less egregious, because Tito is the fucking man. Lots of awesome chaotic stuff. Savage pulls Adonis in the way of Tito's Flying Forearm, and Tito and Savage both try to leave. Tito kicks Savage off the top and climbs over the top to win as Bruno goes out through the war.
