No, because lol.

Booker T [c] vs. Samoa Joe [TNA Legends Title] - *3/4 - Another MEM member beats Joe with minimal interference

The Governor debuts

AJ Styles/Christy Hemme vs. Scott Steiner/Awesome Kong - *1/4

Beer Money gets Abyss drunk and makes Jackie kiss him. Abyss asks if it means he's not a virgin anymore. He probably got drunk on jungle juice and then gave handjob to a cop who looked like Seth Rogen.

Lethal Consequences/Eric Young vs. Jimmy Rave/Sonjay Dutt/Sheik Abdul Bashir - *1/2

Rhino vs. Sting - *1/2

Can't believe I forgot AJ and Shelley were Turkey Bowl Brothers when I booked their feud for BFG '11.

TNA Final Resolution 2008 #2
December 7th, 2008
Orlando, FL

Match #1: Feast or Fired Battle Royal

Horrible. This is a better line up than last year, since you have both LAX and MCMG in, as well as Lethal, so that's about half the match full of guys who can do good stuff. Homicide, Hernandez, Lethal, and Curry Man all get briefcases down. Highlight was Homicide getting down with his case and yelling "ICHIBAN BITCHES!" at the camera.
**

Creed's is opened first, and he wins a Tag Title shot! Shelley and Sabin are mad, and DW says the rest will be opened on Impact.

In the back, TBP cut a promo. Love says the reason the economy sucks now is because they own everything, and then The Governor calls, and they freak out.

MAtch #2: ODB/Roxxi/Taylor Wilde vs. The Beautiful People/Sharmell w/ Cute Kip
This happened. Taylor rolls up Love to win.
3/4*

In the back, JB interviews EY. He says he has a purpose now, and it's turned his life around and they might have given Bashit the belt back, but he's going to win it again. The MCMG come in and talk shit and Eric asks what's wrong with them and says he thought they were with the Frontline. Shelley says they are, they support them, but they don't trust any of them.

Match #3: Sheik Abdul Bashir [c] vs. Eric Young [TNA X Division Championship]
Because TNA is run by total idiots, Shane Sewell is the referee for this. It's not horrible, since it's only like 7 minutes before the booking with Sewell happens. Bashir tries to grab the ropes to block a sunset flip, and Shane kicks his arms off and Eric gets him down for the win.
*1/2

Bashir hits Young with the belt. He then attacks Sewell and bloodies him up for way too long. He leaves with the belt, but Cornette comes and takes it from him.

Match #5: Awesome Kong [c] w/ The Kongtourage vs. Christy Hemme [TNA Knockouts Championship]
This was only 5 minute thankfully. For reasons I do not understand, bur probably boil down to the fact that Kong needs new opponents BAD, they try to make Christy look good. It's not happening, but Kong steamrolling her was great. Khan and Saed get involved for the DQ.
*1/2

Hemme and the Kongtourage have a horrible pull-apart.

In the back, JB talks to Kurt Angle. He says he's hunting for Jeff Jarrett, and there is a Rhino in his path.

Match #5: Beer Money [c] w/ Jackie Moore vs. Abyss/Matt Morgan [TNA World Tag Team Championship]
Storm and Roode did their best. They tried SO SO SO SO SO hard. Huge bumps, great control segment, and a lot of shortcuts at the end. They still manage to get probably the best thing possible out of an Abyss/Morgan team. Abyss blocks the beer bottle from Storm, and Roode hits him with brass knuckles for the win.
**

At ringside, Tenay says he is getting word from Cornette that the X Title is held up an announcement will be made on Impact.

Hype video for Angle/Rhino.

The MCMG come out to the rung, and they demand Mick Foley or Cornette come out, but instead the lights go out. SUICIDE. COME TO LIFE. SUICIDE DESTROYS THEM WITH THE POWER OF HIS HORRIBLE LOOKING CONTRIVED OFFENSE.

Hype video for Angle/Rhino.

Match #6: Kurt Angle vs. Rhino [Special Enforcer: Mick Foley - Rematch vs. Angle's Contract]
This happens. Very much a Kurt Angle match. Kickouts, bad brawling, etc. Al Snow comes out and cheap shots Mick, allowing Kurt to hit Rhino with a chair. He throws it out and then after Foley beats away Snow, he gets back in, and counts to three.
**

Angle gets on the mic, and he promises to cripple Jeff Jarrett, and then Foley is next, and says he's going to beat the shit out of him.

Hype video for the main event.

Mach #7: Sting [c]/Booker T/Kevin Nash/Scott Steiner w/ Sharmell vs. AJ Styles/Samoa Joe/Team 3D [TNA World Heavyweight Championship]
This was decent. Sting is not awful now that the other three can do one decent heel control segment between the three of them, and he can focus on a finishing run. AJ was great, but he was the only one. Joe is losing his powers, and Team 3D suck big time as heels now. Actually, fuck the word now. Team 3D sucks as babyfaces any time after like 2002. Joe does pull off a great hot tag at the end, BUT LOL TNA BECAUSE HE GETS BEAT AGAIN WITH A SCORPION DEATH DROP AFTER NASH GOES TO THE EYES. I enjoy that it takes less and less to beat Joe as he loses confidence, which ideally results in an absence where he gets his injuries in order, gets back in incredible shape, and returns to slaughter all the people. But nope. Cock on his face in a few months.

The MEM cuts a promo to open the show. Angle says he's not only going to own Jeff Jarrett at Genesis, but he'll own his family too, and he'll sell his children into slavery. He tells Jeff to say goodbye to his daughters this Christmas. AJ Styles comes out and tells him to shut up because he wants to talk to Sting. He says Sting is all about honor and respect, but he hasn't lived by that. AJ says at least he can go home and look himself in the mirror, and Angle yells at him to shut up. Angle challenges AJ to come out and talk to Sting man to man if he has something to say, and Sting motions for them to get out. AJ gets in and then the MEM attacks. Joe, Rhino, and the other Frontline dudes run out and they run off the MEM.

In the back, JB interviews Jarett and Foley. Jarrett says the MEM got one over on them again, and he has to go prepare for Genesis, and tells Foley to take the reigns for now.

In the back, Lauren interviews Shelley and Sabin. Shelley said they have been attacked by video game characters, so that's a new low for TNA. Sabin says they'll make the most of the tournament for the vacant X Division Title. Well. Okay then. I guess Cornette forgot to tell anyone but the people in the tournament.

Match #1: Eric Young vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir [X Title Tournament - Quarterfinals]
Tenay says Sewell has been suspended for two weeks. What the fuck? Hebner refuses to be intimidated and shoves Sheik back, BUT BASHIR IS NOW AFRAID OF FUCKING EARL HEBNER. GOD DAMNIT TNA. Stuff happens and Eric wins with a Northern Lights suplex.
*1/4

In the back, JB sees Foley coming out of the MEM locker room.

In the back, Lauren is with TBP, Kip, and The Governor. Kip clearly knows she isn't Sarah Palin, but Governor says they all need makeovers.

BRUTUS MAGNUS. LOLOLOLOLOL. TORMENTUM.

Match #2: Jay Lethal vs. Alex Shelley w/ Chris Sabin [X Title Tournament - Quarterfinals]
This is more like it. They work great together, even for the 5 or so minutes that this got. Sabin interferes and Lehtla loses to a schoolboy by Shelley with the tights.
**1/4

Sabin gets on the mic post-match and demands Foley give them Lethal's briefcase, but Suicide comes down on his wire and cleans house again.

In the back, JB is with Morgan and Abyss. Morgan yells at Abyss to stop falling for Beer Money's traps and he says he wants to see the monster again tonight.

Match #3: Abyss vs. James Storm w/ Jackie Moore [Beer Bottle on a Pole Match]
SUP RUSSO. This happens. Storm can't do much against Abyss when all he does is punches in this match. Morgan comes out to offset Jackie after she helps Storm get the bottle. Roode comes down and hits a low blow and hits Abyss with his belt. Storm then hits Abyss with the chair for the win. The bottle is in tact and Storm drinks out of it, and why the fuck even bother with the stipulation then?
3/4*

In the back, JB is with the MEM. He asks Sting about what AJ said, and Kevin Nash takes the mic and says Sting doesn't have to explain anything and tells JB to beat it.

Bubba comes out, and he calls out Kurt Angle. He challenges him tonight and talks about how the MEM wants to kill TNA, which again has never been stated at all. He asks what he's supposed to do without TNA, and if he has to go sell his soul to the devil again for money. Bubba challenges him to tell the MEM to leave and he'll get the Frontline out, and they can fight, and Angle agrees. Why?

In the back, both Angle and Bubba get rid of their factions for the night.

LAX and Curry Man come out for the Feast or Fired thing. JB opens the briefcases up. Hernandez gets a World Title shot. Curry Man is fired, and Homicide gets the X Title shot. FUCK. THIS MEANS WE'LL NEVER GET TO SEE DANIELS VS. CURRY MAN. GODDAMNIT TNA. :(

Match #4: Christy Hemme vs. Sojourner Bolt
This is terrible and Christy wins.
1/5*

They fight post-match.

An amazing tribute video airs to Curry Man.

Match #5: Kurt Angle vs. Brother Ray
This fucking blew. It's 2008 Kurt Angle vs. 2008 Babyface Bubba Dudley, there's no way this is good. It could be less so if it was a restrained brawl, in that Bubba is able to reel in Kurt and hold him back. But nope. Kurt Angle Epic. No real reason why it has to be an epic. It's a fat out of shape tag team specialist with no momentum. They brawl to the back and it ends.
TNA.

In the parking lot, they fight and the MEM attacks. Sting does nothing and walks away as they kill Bubba. They throw him in a dumpster and Angle yells that nobody messes with the MEM.

Match #1:Rhino vs. Lance Rock

SQUASH. GORE.
1/42*

Rhino calls out the Frontline.

Coming back, they are all in the ring. He says he has Sting at Genesis, and after what they did to Bubba, he would get revenge for all of them. Shelley rightly makes a jerking off motion again, because seriously, why would the Frontline, which is like 75% X Division guys, give a shit about Bubba and D-Von getting hurt after when they tried to put them out of work by killing the X Division. Rhino says it's also AJ and Joe vs. Sting and Nash in a cage, and Joe says he is going to kill them.

In the back, Lauren interviews MCMG. Sabin ignores her asking about his match and Shelley asks if she wants to be the meat in a Motor City sandwich, and asks what happens if they meet in the tournament. Shelley says she's boring, and they leave.

Match #1: Chris Sabin vs. Sonjay Dutt [X Title Tournament - Quarterfinals]
This happened. Val and Shelley were both there, and Shelley's interference is more powerful, and he wins with the Cradle Shock.
*3/4

In the back, The Gov. and TBP get makeovers. Kip says he is the fashion consultant and she is a fake, but they storm off.

ODB has her horrible segment with Christy, and The Kongtourage attacks them both.

In the back, JB is with the MEM and Mick Foley is hanging out in their locker room. Foley wants them to stop with the 5 on 1 attacks, but Angle says when you fight one of them, you fight all of them.

ROUGH CUT WITH ROBERT ROODE. Not as good as the LAX ones though, and I question doing these with heels.

Match #2: Scott Steiner/Booker T w/ Sharmell vs. Abyss/Matt Morgan
This blew. Sharmell distracts Abyss and Steiner hits Morgan with the pipe and Booker hits the Scissors Kick to win.
1/2*

Kurt Angle comes out with a copy of his new DVD. He has a tribute to Jeff Jarrett and shows pictures because none of the video belongs to TNA. He cuts the same promo and then shows pictures of Jeff's kids and says Uncle Kurt will adopt them after Genesis. Jeff Jarrett runs out, but Scott D'Amore, BG James, and Terry taylor and some referees come out to stop him. Security then has to hold Kurt back too.

In the back, BG talks sense into Jarrett. Foley walks in and Jarrett leaves and BG blames Foley for this.

Match #3: Consequences Creed vs. Kiyoshi [X Title Tournament - Quarterfinals]
This blew. Kiyoshi is AJPW young guy Akira Raijin working a really terrible knockoff Muta gimmick. He wins with a Moonsault.
3/4*

They re-air the attack on Bubba from last week.

A pre-tape airs with tenay and Shane Sewell. He reveals that he's a retired wrestler who worked in Puerto Rico and shit and yeah.

Match #4: Christy Hemme/ODB vs. Raisha Saed/Rhaka Khan
Hey, this also was awful! Hemme beats Khan with the Firecrotch.
1/10*

Kong comes out to kill, but Suicide zip-lines down. Kong bails out in fear. Not sure why.

In the back, JB interviews Sting and Nash. JB asks if things are out of hand, and Nash says nobody has more integrity than Sting, and scolds him for that question. He says Sting never spit in anyone's face like AJ and Joe have done, and says the Frontline started this war, not them.

Match #5: AJ Styles/Samoa Joe vs. Sting/Kevin Nash [Six Sides of Steel]
Only one person has to escape to win, which blows. Still, this was good. Only 6 minutes or so unfortunately. Nash goes to powerbomb AJ, but he grabs the cage and climbs over and out to win.
**1/4

Steiner, Booker. and Angle come out to attack AJ on the floor. Nash and Sting beat on Joe in the ring. Joe fights back, but the other MEM guys get in and lock the door after Joe throws Sting out. They throws Joe's arm into the cage and beat on it with chairs and the pipe. The Frontline finally comes out, but they aren't able to get in. To put the real exclamation point on the arm injury, submission specialist Kurt Angle puts on a .... Ankle Lock. God fucking damnit.

MEM Promo. Foley interrupts. He books AJ/D-Von vs. Booker/Steiner tonight. Angle vs. Rhino again. Jeff Jarrett will be ringside.

In the back, JB interviews Rhino. He says the Mafia started the war and took out Petey, Brother Ray, and Joe, but he's going to finish it with a GORE GORE GORE.

Match #1: Chris Sabin w/ Alex Shelley vs. Kiyoshi [X Title Tournament - Semi-Finals]
This was not good either. Kiyoshi is really terrible. Shelley again interferes and Sabin hits the Cradle Shock to win.
*1/4

Sewell is the referee for that match, so Bashir comes out to try and provoke him, but Suicide comes out and gets rid of Bashir.

More horrible TBP/Governor stuff. THIS IS SO BAD OH MY GOD.

There is a pretape with Tenay and Jeff Jarrett. Jeff says TNA wouldn't be TNA without Tenay. He's right, but not in a positive way. He says he wanted to build the company around Kurt, but something inside Kurt broke, and he's lost his mind in the last two years. Jarrett says Bound for Glory was a wrestling match, but this will be a fight, and he has to win.

In the back, Morgan challenges Beer Money to a final match at Genesis.

Lots of segments.

Fuck it.

Match #2: AJ Styles/Brother D-Von vs. Booker T/Scott Steiner
AJ tried, but this was like 2-3 minutes. It quickly turns into a brawl and the ref throws it out.
3/4*

Booker and D-Von fight to the parking lot, and Angle and Nash sneak attack D-Von. They handcuff him to a car mirror and beat the shit out of him. AJ and Steiner fight at ringside, and AJ fights back. Angle, Nash, and Booker go after him now and it's a 4 on 1. Rhino, Lethal, and Creed get taken out trying to help, so Mick Foley runs out and makes the save. He gets the sock out, but Nash pulls Angle out, and the MEM bails. Yep. The only one who can fight off four old dudes is another old, fatter and more retired guy. Foley books himself, AJ, and D-Von vs. Nash, Booker, and Steiner at the PPV.

Match #3: Roxxi/Taylor Wilde/ODB/Christy Hemme vs. Awesome Kong/Raisha Saeed/Rhaka Khan/Sojourner Bolt
This happened. Kong ruled shit again. Wilde beats Khan with a sunset flip.
*

Match #4: Kurt Angle vs. Rhino w/ Jeff Jarrett

This is not good, and it goes like 20 fucking minutes. Angle tries to goad Jeff by spitting on him, but he gets held back. FINISHER KICK OUTS. Kurt, goddamnit. Rhino only has one finisher, there's nothing else for him to go to after you kick out of the Gore. Stop. Angle gets the Ankle Lock on, and Jarrett attacks him for the DQ. THANK GOD.
*1/2

They get pulled apart again, and Angle hits BG James with a chair.

2008 was a weird year. More of a Cornette bad than a Russo bad, which 2007 was. This mean it wasn't as infuriating, but had much more boring patches, and never hit the highs, match-wise that 2007 did. More consistent in terms of good TV matches, and the summer was pretty good. MEM forming kind of fucked shit up, since they started putting tons of focus on guys who can't wrestle every week, so the shows got filled with bullshit.

TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR:

2002: America's Most Wanted
2003: America's Most Wanted
2004: America's Most Wanted
2005: America's Most Wanted
2006: America's Most Wanted
2007: LAX

OTHER 2008 WINNERS:

WWE: The Miz/John Morrison
ROH: D.I.F.H.
PWG: The Dynasty
CHIKARA: Fire Ant/Soldier Ant

This is the most competition TNA has ever had for this award. During the AMW run, they dominated through consistency, being able to win because they were around all year vs. their only real competition (XXX, AJ/Daniels, LAX) only being around for 6 months tops. 2007 had LAX dominating since they were the only actual good team for most of the year. 2008 had LAX and MCMG going back and forth all year, and Beer Money made an amazing run at it, and would have pulled it off if they weren't benched after Final Resolution #2 for the last three Impacts of the year. This goes to a great tag team, but a tag team I never expected to win this over LAX or Beer Money.
