ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Rob Van Dam/Sabu, Since 6/27/1998 ECW Hardcore TV August 12th, 1998 Philadelphia, PA Storm vs. Candido is going to start the show. Storm gets on the mic and says the WWF barred Sunny from being ringside with him again, certainly not due to a phone call that he made to Stamford, but she's not barred from his hotel room tonight, so Candido attacks! Match #1: Chris Candido vs. Lance Storm This is clipped a good amount, so it's not great like almost every other big match they've had (i.e. not that weird 5 minute match they had after a tag defense), but it's still really good for 6 minutes. Some cool spots, and the clipping seems like a clear ploy by ECW to maintain the RVD/Sabu supremacy on top the WOTY list, as both men were close to overtaking them in the rankings with some more great matches. anyways, Candido mocks Lance on the mic before he sets him up for the Blond Bombshell, BUT LANCE HAS THE MIC IN HIS HAND AND HITS CANDIDO IN THE DICK WITH IT. LANCE HITS A SUPERPLEX TO WIN! **1/4 In the back, Lance Storm says people tell him he should apologize, and says because of a phone call he made, people were robbed of seeing Sunny in a low cut dress tonight. He says more importantly, Chris Candido was robbed of the win Sunny was going to interfere and give him. He says Candido is on his own because of him, and Lance Storm apologizes for nothing. In the back, Joey reveals that all Lance Storm really had was an envelope with a WWF logo on it, and he fooled all of them, but Sunny is free of her commitments. Shane rightfully looks pissed and asks what kind of a promotion didn't even check into that. Taz vs. Sabu for the FTW Title is set up, and after an opening punch-off, it static cuts to them fighting on the stage, and Bam Bam Bigelow comes from behind to attack Taz! They fight to the ring, and Joey just makes it a three way, I guess, because ECW. Taz then gets on the mic and calls for it after Joey already made the announcement. Match #2: Taz [c] vs. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Sabu [FTW World Heavyweight Championship - Falls Count Anywhere Three Way Dance] About 15 minutes of this airs, and the rest is clipped. I can deal with TV edits for a match this long, but it's still frustrating since it goes 30 minutes. There's a lot of amazing and out of control stuff here, like dudes chucking table parts and chairs at each other, and then there's also a lot of blatant filler like shitty triple submission spots. So this is not great. Like a lot of overly long time limit draws, it wanes in the middle, but the beginning and ending are very good. Sabu brings out the spike and he and Taz go wild with it before the bell. **1/2 Match #3: Rob Van Dam [c] w/ Bill Alfonso vs. Jerry Lynn [ECW Television Championship] HEY NO WTF. I THOUGHT I HAD ANOTHER 7 MONTHS. This wasn't as bad as the 1999 stuff and certainly less contrived, but it had their always aimless sense of wandering blankly from spot to spot without much of a thread trying them together in a row, let alone a story. They at least paced out big spots at the end well to get drama out of them. RVD does the chair sidekick to Lynn on the top rope, and that gets the pin this time. **1/2 |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Rob Van Dam/Sabu, Since 6/27/1998 ECW Hardcore TV August 19th, 1998 Philadelphia, PA A pretape airs from Joel Gertner, in which he congratulates Rob Van Dam on another win, but says the glory train is making a detour and will be stopping in Dudleyville. He says he personally guarantees that Rob Van Dam will lose one of those titles this week! Shane Douglas and Francine come out to the ring. Shane is in a leather vest and jean shorts, and I get that it's very hot in the Arena in August, but he really should have been advised against aping the wardrobe of the biggest wrestling star in the world at this point. Shane says Bam Bam did not fucking tap. he was reaching for the rope, and they just saw him beat up Taz AND Sabu for 30 long minutes in this god damn ring. He says Van Dam and Sabu have been collecting a bit too much gold, and the Triple Threat has a fucking problem with that, so it's time to go back to the way things are supposed to be. Joel Gertner comes out and says he's sorry to interrupt, and says earlier, Rob Van Dam took a heck of a beating from Jerry Lynn, and really earned that win. Sabu wrestled for 30 minutes, he was beaten up by two very tough men, and is in terrible shape. He asks Shane if it's so much that he wants the titles in his camp or if he'd be happy with the Tag Titles just being away from RVD and Sabu. Shane says as long as it's not Rob Van Dam and Sabu, he doesn't care, and Joel says here's a little known fact. The Dudleys have hidden a shot at the ECW Tag Team Titles, and if he may be so bold, THEY'D LIKE TO EXERCISE THAT OPTION TONIGHT! NO! RVD and Fonzie come out with his two belts, and Douglas and Francine. RVD does the Gertner style WELL, WELL, WELL~. He says he just fought Jerry Lynn everywhere, and Sabu got carried out after 3 hours of fighting. He says he's not JUST the TV Champion, he's not JUST the Tag Team Champion, he's the whole fucking show. The Dudley Boyz then come out and Bubba says his name is Bubba Ray Dudley and he doesn't care who he wrestled tonight, because they're gonna get a title shot. He says he can't beat them both up, and by the looks of him, he probably couldn't take Sign Guy. They turn around to taunt the crowd, SO RVD HITS SIGN GUY WITH THE TAG TITLES! FONZIE THROWS BIG DICK A CHAIR AND RVD HITS THE VAN DAMINATOR AND HE GOES DOWN! The Dudleys turn around to see it, and RVD runs away. In a pretape, Sunny says she's going to be in the ECW Arena next time, live and in the flesh. Match #1: The Sandman vs. Justin Credible w/ Jason, Nicole Bass, & Chastity This happens. Sandman clearly has trouble giving a shit at this point, but they still air his entrance in full, so he has a purpose. Credible still barely cares about trying to have good matches now that he's being pushed, which is the most infuriating thing to see in a wrestler. The best part of this was Green Lantern Fan being sprayed with Sandman's beer when he popped it open and being sad his shirt was wet. There's a lot of interference, and Credible canes Sandman and hits That's Incredible for another ridiculous win. *3/4 They keep beating on Sandman, and ugh, this is a feud now probably. FUCK. They tie Sandman into the ropes, and Credible canes Sandman 10 times. In the back, The Sandman says Credible's lit a fire under his ass, but his problem now is putting it out. Match #2: Rob Van Dam [c] vs. The Dudley Boyz [ECW Tag Team Championship] Everyone is ringside. This is a fun handicap match, and RVD looks awesome in it. He took insane bumps, and since there wasn't limbwork to sell, he sold the beating pretty well. They go for something like six minutes, and RVD gets hit with the 3D! He rolls out, and the Dudleys start to celebrate, BUT SABU RUNS OUT! YEAH! He starts hurling chairs at the Dudley Boyz, but then Bigelow comes out to attack Sabu, and the match is over. **1/4 The Dudleys seem to back off a little bit while Bigelow beats up on Sabu. RVD saves, and Shane Douglas leaves commentary to save Bam Bam! The Dudleys put a table up in the ring and seem to help the Triple Threat, and Chris Candido comes out. They put RVD and Sabu on the table like RVD and Sabu do to everyone, and Candido goes up top. BUT TAZ RUNS OUT TO SAVE?! He shoves Candido off, but he misses the table. He throws Bigelow and moves in on Shane, but Candido and Bigelow get him from behind, AND SABU AND RVD SAVE TAZ! They run off the Triple Threat and then the Dudleys. Fonzie holds Sabu back from Taz, and then talks to both sides. He has them at bay, AND FONZIE HOLDS UP THREE FINGERS AT THEM! None of them look sure as the show ends. |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Rob Van Dam/Sabu, Since 6/27/1998 ECW Hardcore TV August 26th, 1998 Queens, NY Chris Candido and Sunny come out to open the show, and Candido gets on the mic. He says everyone came here tonight to see him wrestle his ass off, but Sunny says they might have just come to see her ass. She then calls out Lance Storm, speaking of asses, so she can slap his face. Lance Storm comes out and says while he was the better half of their team, Sunny's only better half is her from the waist down. She slaps him, so Candido hits him and drives him away. Sunny says she's in ECW to stay. Match #1: Spike Dudley vs. Sal E. Graziano Spike gets a low blow and the Acid Drop to win in 15 seconds. Carrot Cunt Chills Match #2: The Sandman vs. Tracy Smothers w/ The FBI Fun Sandman showcase. The FBI schtick is wonderful as always, and they get something good out of a clearly fucked up (more to his insane 1998 level of fucked up than in the past) Sandman tonight. The crowd tries a "USA" chant. Awesome. Sandman wins with the White Russian Legsweep. ** Jason runs out, so Sandman canes him. Chastity runs out to distract him, and Justin Credible comes from behind and grabs the cane and canes Sandman. The FBI helps and Credible canes the shit out of The Sandman, basically repeating last week's thing, but after a better match. Credible hits That's Incredible and stands tall because fuck this. RVD/Sabu vs. The Dudley Boyz is set to be the main event, but shane Douglas and Francine come out. Shane says to wait just a moment, and says The Dudleys had their shot, and he wants the gold off of Van Dam and Sabu. So if they're talking about tough tag teams, the equation isn't complete without THE GOD DAMNED TRIPLE THREAT, AND BIGELOW AND CANDIDO COME OUT! YES! Match #3: Rob Van Dam/Sabu [c] vs. The Dudley Boyz vs. Chris Candido/Bam Bam Bigelow [ECW Tag Team Championship - Three Way Dance] Everyone is on the floor. Really fun out of control match that I want from these guys in ECW. Lots of dives and cool spots with no real coherency, but lots of crispness and excitement and innovation. Everyone interferes with the ref down, and Taz comes out! He throws around the Triple threat, and goes for Shane, but the Dudleys save! BUT TAZ COUNTERS THE 3D INTO A TAZMISSION ON BUBBA! AWESOME! RVD gets rid of D-Von, and Taz chases Shane to the back. Candido hits a Splash off the top to the knocked out Bubba and eliminates the Dudleys. They have an awesome finishing run, and RVD puts a chair in Candido's face with a Flying Sidekick for the win. *** |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Rob Van Dam/Sabu, Since 6/27/1998 ECW Hardcore TV September 5th, 1998 Philadelphia, PA Before his match, Lance Storm brings out FUCKING DAWN MARIE! YEAH! He introduces her as Tammy Lynn Bytch and says Sunny days are not over for Lance Storm. He says this is the real Tammy and did favors to get her job, keep her job, and to confirm the rumors, this woman was in fact the heartbreak chick. Match #1: Chris Candido vs. Lance Storm Sunny and Dawn Marie are there. This is great again! I'm impressed with how well they can constantly change it up after now running this match for almost a year. Candido is CLEARLY better than Lance here, as Lance embarrasses himself with some shitty chops and the worst Bridging German Suplex I've ever seen out of a Canadian. They pick it up huge when it goes to the floor, and for the first time, Lance uses a table willingly when he puts Candido through one. Good counters back inside, and Dawn gets involved. Sunny gets in and takes her dress off, which is great. Lance goes to suplex Sunny, BUT CANDIDO HITS HIM IN THE NECK WITH A CHAIN! SUNNY FALLS DOWN INTO A CRADLE AND SOMEHOW SHE WINS THE MATCH! *** A video of Sunny and Francine being hot airs, set to "Devil's Dance" and then a t-shirt plug. Match #2: Spike Dudley vs. Sal E. Graziano Same thing as in Queens, basically. Dick kick and Acid Drop ends it in short order for Spike. Poop/54 Match #3: Tommy Rogers vs. Tracy Smothers w/ The FBI Really fun 5 minutes. Both men are very clearly game for whatever, and have solid matwork and then strikes, bumping, etc. the FBI got involved as expected, and then Balls and Axl ran down to fight them to the back. The match continued with some more cool stuff, and Tommy carefully setting up high flying spots was weirdly entertaining. Tracy gets a low blow to block the Tomikaze and hits sort of a Regal Plex slam to win. **1/2 Match #4: The Sandman vs. Justin Credible/Jason w/ Chastity & Nicole Bass [Singapore Caning Match] This happened. They work a basic manager tag sort of, with Jason getting beat up a lot and Credible is a coward. Jason randomly breaks out a sweet Roundhouse Kick, then does a Ricky Morton roll to the tag. I love Jason. Credible continues to contribute nothing of value, and Sandman beats Jason with a DDT. *1/2 Now Jason will get caned 10 times. He wants to leave, but the referee says he either gets caned 10 times, or he's barred from ECW for life. He gets in and eats 10 quick cane shots. Jason tries to slide in with his own, but Sandman canes him in the face before hitting Jason with a cane shot to the face too! Nicole Bass gets in and eats the White Russian Legsweep, but it allows Credible to cane Sandman 10 times in the face. He keeps on the attack, and ugh. This is a greatly booked angle and Credible's advancement is perfect, but fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck, it's still Justin Credible so it renders everything useless and makes you mad at everyone involved for perpetrating the push. He literally is Phenetic, I get it now. |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Rob Van Dam/Sabu, Since 6/27/1998 ECW Hardcore TV September 12th, 1998 Philadelphia, PA Rob Zombie plugs ECW to open the show and they hype the CD release. Oh dear. In the ring, Joey Styles introduces the show and Bill Alfonso comes out. He says somebody owes him a favor and calls out the World Champion, Taz, to collect on his favor. That's the first time someone's actually referred to Taz as the legit champion, so that matters. Taz comes out and the crowd chants "NEW TRIPLE THREAT!" Fonzie says the people want it, it gets people talking, and it puts money in their pockets and says he wants to make this a done deal. He offers his hand, but The Triple Threat comes out. Shane yells that Taz couldn't cut it in the Triple Threat, AND HE'S NOT A FUCKING WORLD CHAMPION. Taz says to take his belt from him then, and Shane says he already has the real belt, and Taz says he knows Shane wants it. He says he threw down another fake belt and dares him to do it to him, but Bigelow and Candido blindside him. Shane and Candido hold Taz on the mat, AND BIGELOW HITS A SPLASH OFF THE TOP AND HE'S DEAD. CANDIDO DDT'S FONZIE! Bigelow goes for the Greetings From Asbury Park on Fonzie, BUT RVD AND SABU RUN OUT TO SAVE! YEAH! They drop him, and The Triple Threat backs off going into commercial. Clips air from the end of Candido/Lance last week. In the back, Lance Storm cuts a promo with Dawn Marie. Lance says Candido needs to get a hold of his woman, unless he's too whipped to do it. He says he confirmed some rumors last week, but Sunny did some of that too, when she ripped the clothes off another woman the first chance she got and exposed herself too. He says he might have had his shoulders down for 3 seconds with Chris' woman on top of him, but he hears that goes $20, so he saved himself some cash and lasted two seconds longer than Candido usually does. Wait, did Lance just admit that he came last week at the end of the match? Match #1: Jerry Lynn vs. Mikey Whipwreck Solid little spotfest. Lynn is really good at building up the pace of a spotfest. That's his one strength, and you see it here and in matches against Credible, RVD, AJ Styles, Low Ki, Roderick Strong, etc. Mikey seems very tired here. He's not fucking things up, but he just seems generally world-weary. They have some great nearfalls, and Lynn rolls through a Frankensteiner to get a Sunset Flip for the win. **1/2 Tommy Dreamer wants to fight Jack Victory for some reason, but Mr. Wright changed the rules, so he has to beat Danny Doring first in a gauntlet match. Why? Match #2: Tommy Dreamer vs. Danny Doring/Jack Victory w/ Lance Wright, Mike Lozansky, & The Equalizer [Gauntlet Match] This becomes Tommy vs. all three because ECW can't abide by even the fucking easiest rules. The BWO comes out to save and this becomes a six man and I hate everything. Jack Victory vs. Tommy is good though and has some great spots, so that should have just been the match they ran. Nova wrecking jobbers with a Captain America shield ruled though, and I buy it, because shit's made of vibranium. Tommy puts the shield on someone's dick and then drops a bowling ball on it, and that gets the win. *1/4 TAZ 6:32 TWICE AS PISSED Match #3: Masato Tanaka vs. Bam Bam Bigelow Awesome 8 minute war. They use chairs, tables, forearms, etc. It's Tanaka being Tanaka, but instead of facing Awesome, he's against an even bigger brick wall to overcome. He does a Tope Suicida, because I guess I didn't love him enough. Bigewlow destroys him with stuff and puts him through a table to block the Tornado DDT. AND RVD AND SABU COME OUT TO ATTACK BIGELOW IN REVENGE FOR FONZIE! YEAH! They put him on another table and hit the Double flying Legddrop, before Sabu throws Tanaka on top to win! *** |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Rob Van Dam/Sabu, Since 6/27/1998 ECW Hardcore TV September 19th, 1998 Chalmette, LA Match #1: Masato Tanaka vs. Balls Mahoney Hey, this was great again! It's Tanaka being Tanaka for 10 minutes, with Balls being a solid second guy to be in there with. They had a nice little attempt at psychology with Balls avoiding Tanaka's big stuff early on, and then they jumped into the mindless fun. Not as insane as the first match, but whatever. Tanaka wins with the Tornado DDT onto many chairs. *** After the match, Balls and Masato shake hands and leave together. The Triple Threat/New T3 segment airs again. In the back, Francine comes on and says there's only one Triple Threat and says Shane Douglas is going to be cleared soon and you've all pushed him too far. In a pretape, Justin Credible says a lot of stuff and brags about how he's beat Sandman in everyone. Someone yells "SHUT THE FUCK UP" and Jack Victory walks on. He asks who they're having problems with, and Credible says The Sandman. Victory says to pay him, and Jason takes out a wad of bills. He puts two bills in his hand and Victory asks if he looks like a fucking jabroni. He gives him the entire wad, and Jack Victory says all his problems are solved from now on. Before Sandman vs. Credible, the entire posse comes out, and Jason says on advice from their new associate Jack Victory, Justin Credible will NOT be wrestling tonight, and will be replaced by Ron Price. Match #2: The Sandman vs. Rod Price w/ Justin Credible, Jason, Nicole Bass, & Chastity I kind of loved this. Price is a rough brawler type, but Sandman seems to care here, and all of Price's stuff looked good. They go a little long, and everyone on the floor gets involved and it sort of stops being a thing. ** Jack Victory also runs out and Credible pretty much destroys a cane on Sandman's head. Tommy Dreamer comes out with a trash can to save, BUT ONE MAN GANG COMES OUT! VICTORY BROUGHT IN ONE MAN GANG! AWESOME MID-SOUTH CALLBACK! OMG SPLASHES TOMMY AND KILLS HIM. LOWER CARD BABYFACES RUN OUT TO SAVE. Spike vs. OMG breaks out. Match #3: Spike Dudley vs. One Man Gang After 30 seconds of OMG clubbing, SPIKE GETS A LOW BLOW AND THE ACID DROP TO WIN. FUCK YOU LOUISIANA. 45/Poop In the back, Shane Douglas cuts a promo. He says he's the Franchise, the World Champion, and the one that throws out challenges. He challenges the "new" Triple Threat - RVD, Sabu, and whoever else -- against the REAL Triple Threat. He says he's going to stand all as the only leader of the god damned Triple Threat that means anything. |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Rob Van Dam/Sabu, Since 6/27/1998 ECW Hardcore TV September 26th, 1998 Philadelphia, PA In the ring, Tommy Dreamer is on the mic and there's a graphic on screen that says "BREAKING NEWS: THE SANDMAN LEAVES ECW" OH COME ON. NO. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUCK. At least he doesn't have to put over Credible now. At least for another few years, since everyone ends up putting that cocksucker over at some point. Tommy talks about the past with Eddie Gilbert and Tod Gordon and says Paul took over about 5 years ago. Joey keeps giving past info and it's awful. Tommy speaks of the growth and says they're going to the top and puts over the roster for giving 100% and all of that fellatio. Joey talks over Tommy's aimless speech and announces that The Sandman signed with WCW before Tommy can. What a piece of shit. Why is Joey doing this? Tommy says The Sandman deserves a quality send off and everyone chants his name. He thanks Sandman for everything. Jack Victory comes out and calls Tommy Dreamer a huge kiss-ass. He says when he left the business, nobody gave him all of this and he went through tables and barbed wire just like that drunk. Tommy says something but it's all bleeped out, so I'm assuming he says Jack Victory is the greatest. Tommy says this is what Sandman would do, and hits him. Rod Price comes out to save, AND THE LIGHTS GO OUT! "ENTER SANDMAN" HITS, but ugh it's Justin Credible to cane Tommy a lot. They strip his shirt off and Credible canes him 10 times in the back. Wrestlers come out to save, and again it's a great angle, but it puts over Justin Credible so it leaves a horrible taste in my mouth. The lengths they have to go to to even get a fucking reaction for this asshole says everything. A video airs of all the horrible forced Justin Credible pushes over the last year. THEY AIR THE CANING AGAIN. STOP. They air the AMAZING Sandman tribute set to Sid Vicious' "My Way" from October 1995 in tribute. The end of Sandman/Rod Price and the angle going into Spike/OMG and that match all airs from last week. Holy shit, this episode is awful. Did most of the ECW Arena show suck or something? After 30 minutes, we do something else! The Dudley Boyz are in the ring with a mic. Bubba says Philadelphia women are nothing but a bunch of whores, and he sees a lot of fat whores tonight. Joey says people don't watch ECW to see The Dudley Boyz try to fight the crowd. Joel Gertner talks, but Joey talks over him. JOEY STYLES IS EVEN WORSE THAN EVER WITHOUT SHANE TO REIGN HIM IN. OH MY GOD, THEY MADE ME APPRECIATE SHANE DOUGLAS' PRESENCE ON THE SHOW. HOLY SHIT, I HAVE TO STOP THIS. Joel "You'll Marvel At The Size As I'm In Between Your Thighs" Gertner introduces D-Von for a singles match, but does Bubba first. "Tonight, he acts as a cornerman. Hailing from the metropolitan section of Dudleyville, he is the Mayor of Philadelphia and the Duke of Dudleyville. When asked out on a date by Monica Lewinsky, he said "close, but no cigar", MAKING HIM THE PRESIDENT OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING, BUBBA RAY DUDLEY!" Joey then cuts out D-Von's long intro somehow by staring at the screen like he's too good for this. I hate this motherfucker more than ever. Masato Tanaka comes out for the match and Bubba tells him to speak the language when he's in America. He takes the mic while giving the finger and says "BUH BUH BUH BUH BUH BUH" to mock him, and they have to hold Bubba back. Awesome. Match #1: Masato Tanaka vs. D-Von Dudley w/ The Dudleys This is solid, but still the least of the Tanaka matches due to the lack of as much insanity and D-Von not being a great singles wrestler. Solid 5 minutes, and then stuff breaks down. Bam Bam Bigelow comes out to watch and Bubba gets involved. They try the 3D on chairs, but Tanaka blocks into a DDT on the chairs to D-Von. Bubba misses a Splash for the save and Tanaka covers to win. **1/4 BIGELOW AND TANAKA BIGELOW AND TANAKA BIGELOW AND TANAKA. YEAH. The rest of the Triple Threat comes out to beat him down, and he is sent out. Shane gets on the mic and says he spent 16 years building this, and he's not about to let three new jabronis take his creation, the Triple Threat, away from him. Shane says Taz won't stand with Sabu and Rob Van Dam ever, and anyone who buys that is a mark. He says RVD will sell out to anyone for a little glory, but asks them to remember Barely Legal. He says they couldn't even stay together as a tag team with Paul Heyman of all people being their manager. He says again that there's only one Triple Threat. A "Dragula" video airs with ECW stuff in it. |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Rob Van Dam/Sabu, Since 6/27/1998 ECW Hardcore TV October 2nd, 1998 Philadelphia, PA Joey announces that Mike Awesome got injured on tonight's card and will be out a year. That can't be right. Match #1: Tommy Rogers/Chris Chetti/? vs. Tracy Smothers/Little Guido/Tommy Rich This is another weird ECW multi-man with staggered eliminations. Starts as Rogers/Tracy, and that's great again. This is clipped to under 5 minutes, but it's still really entertaining. They all wait for the mystery man last, AND IT'S JT SMITH! YES! OL BROWN EYES! They go a clip and Sal E. Graziano is randomly in the ring on the face team too. Chris Chetti fucks up and takes out JT Smith in an awesome turn of evenrs. Then ECW clips out the finish, so I guess I can't rate it N/A JT GOES IN THE CROWD AND SINGS "FLY ME TO THE MOON"! Awesome nostalgia comedy segment, I wish more indies did this nowadays. In the ring, Joey Styles is with Fonzie, RVD, and Sabu, and Bill Alfonso again calls Taz out. He comes to the ring, and Fonzie says his new Triple Threat is going to be the three of them, and he wants a handshake. Taz says he doesn't want to shake his hand or Van Dam's hand, AND HE POINTS TO SABU AND SAYS HE WANTS TO SHAKE HIS HAND. Sabu offers his hand to Taz, AND TAZ JUST WALKS PAST HIM LIKE RVD DID IN 1996! TAZ LEAVES AND RVD THEN SHAKES SABU'S HAND AND CELEBRATES IT! AMAZING ON BOTH ACCOUNTS! BUY THE ECW CD AND HEAR GREAT THEMES RUINED Match #3: Tommy Dreamer/The Gangstanators vs. Justin Credible/Jack Victory/Rod Price w/ Jason, Lance Wright, Chastity & Nicole Bass Tommy comes out still bloody and fucked up. Holy shit, Kronus is still here! This is a New Jack match, you know what it entails by now. Lots of interference, and Kronus uses a zucchini. New Jack does a flying EL KABONG~ to Rod Price for the win. *3/4 The "Dragula" video airs again. Bill Wiles is sweeping up the ring and the broom breaks. The crowd pops, so he gets on the mic and calls the Philly fans out for being the worst fans in wrestling. He says he's paid his dues by cleaning the ring for three fucking years and says he can kick anybody's ass in this building. AND 911 COMES OUT?! FUCK YEAH NOSTALGIA NIGHT. CHOKESLAM TO BILL WILES! Referee Jeff Jones comes out and welcomes him back and calls him the only true giant. Oh no. He issues an open challenge to fight 911, so Spike Dudley comes out. Match #3: Spike Dudley vs. 911 w/ Jeff Jones Dick kick, Acid Drop, pin. You know the drill. Box of Farts Sabu and RVD come out for the main event, and don't seem to have a third, BUT MASATO TANAKA COMES OUT! YES! Match #4: Shane Douglas/Chris Candido/Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Rob Van Dam/Sabu/Masato Tanaka Francine and Fonzie are on the floor. This was a great angle, but they sacrificed an amazing match in a needless fashion to do it. The match goes two minutes, and it's chaotic and wild and everything you'd love here, but as soon as Tanaka gets in, The Dudley Boyz run out to attack him and the match ends. No reason they couldn't have gone 10 with the same ending. I hate this fucking company half the time. *1/2 They hit Masato Tanaka with the 3D, and it becomes a 5 on 2 attack on Rob Van Dam and Sabu. Mikey Whipwreck runs out to save, but Shane hits the Side Belly to Belly to cut him off. Jerry Lynn comes out to save, but Candido hits him with a Piledriver. The BWO come out to save, but they get destroyed too, and the other undercarders come out. Candido hits Chetti with a Piledriver and Bubba hits the Bubba Cutter on Tommy Rogers and Balls Mahoney. JT Smith gets taken out by D-Von, AND TAZ COMES OUT! YEAH! Taz gets rid of the Triple Threat with throws, and RVD and Sabu fight off the Dudley Boyz! The Triple Threat retreats and Taz shakes Fonzie's hand. Taz high fives RVD and while he doesn't shake Sabu's hand, ALL THREE POSE TOGETHER IN THE RING! Taz then holds his hand up for Sabu, AND SABU HIGH FIVES TAZ. NEW TRIPLE THREAT. |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Rob Van Dam/Sabu, Since 6/27/1998 ECW Hardcore TV October 9th, 1998 Dalton, GA The show opens with the final minute of Lance Storm beating Chris Chetti. A Lance Storm video then airs, set to some White Zombie song. At ringside, Bill Wiles directs the timekeeper on how to ring the bell. In the back, Paul yells at Joey to plug the album some more while he also sucks Justin Credible's dick at the same time. Match #1: Balls Mahoney vs. Justin Credible w/ Jason & Chastity Axl comes out to represent Balls on the floor too. I don't want to see this at all, but holy shit, they didn't need to work a basic pro wrestling match. They do like 3 minutes of matwork and THIS...THIS IS THE ONE FUCKING MATCH WHERE ECW FANS DON'T SHIT ON THAT. They then do stuff and it's Credible vs. Balls, who I now see almost always works at his opponent's level. The match breaks down with interference and ends because ECW is awful outside of title scene stuff now. * Credible canes the shit out of both Balls and Axl because GOD DAMNIT YOU'RE GONNA SEE HIM AS A TOP GUY. Tommy Dreamer runs out to save. He canes Credible in revenge, but Jack Victory and Rod Price run out before a commercial for Gold magazine, watches, and phone sex. ECW. They re-air the caning angle from the Arena AGAIN. Holy shit, this is cringeworthy how hard they want this to work. To kill more time, they air highlights of the last ECW Arena show that have all aired on TV since. Match #2: Masato Tanaka vs. Bubba Ray Dudley w/ Everyone Solid stuff here. Bubba does power stuff and then takes HUGE bumps for Tanaka, including an especially spectacular one off a Saito Suplex, which is really innovative for 1984. BUBBA HITS THE BACK SENTON WHOA. The Triple Threat comes out as Tanaka starts to come back, and after he hits Bubba with the Diamond Dust, Bigelow comes in to attack. Sabu and RVD run out to save Masato Tanaka and the Dudleys, and they hit their version of the Event Omega on Bubba! They dive to the Triple Threat, and Tanaka covers Bubba to win. **1/4 The Dudley Boyz fight Tanaka away, and The Triple Threat beats on Sabu and RVD in a 3 on 2 until Taz runs out to save! They clean house again on the Triple Threat. In the back, Joey Styles announces that the November to Remember main event is the Triple Threat vs. The New Triple Threat. Really should have been Shane/Taz and any number of tag combinations, but the build's been really good for this, better than any previous N2R main event. |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Rob Van Dam/Sabu, Since 6/27/1998 ECW Hardcore TV October 16th, 1998 Philadelphia, PA Lynn vs. Candido is supposed to open the show, but Mikey Whipwreck comes out. He's starstruck seeing Sunny, but then goes to Lynn. He says they've split their series of matches down the middle and says they were supposed to have a rubber match tonight and asks what happened. Lynn says they wrestle who they're told and tells him to take his chunky ass and go eat more snow cones. WHAT THE FUCK? Mikey had a fair question and was being nice and Lynn takes it up like five levels. Mikey is pissed and says this isn't over, and leaves. Mikey leaves and Joey mocks him for having a high voice and looking like a child. Everyone in this company is horrible. Candido sends Sunny to the back. Lynn vs. Candido is clipped to two and a half minutes because ECW 1998 is trying to make me give up. I will not. It looks solid, and hey, a ref bump. Lance Storm and Dawn come out, and Lance hits Candido with repeated Piledrivers. Dawn slaps Candido, but Sunny runs out and attacks Storm. He holds her, AND DAWN HITS HER WITH A LOADED PURSE! YES! Mikey comes out to save and drives Lance out. Dawn blinds him with powder and hits both women with Whippersnappers on accident. Lance throws him out and hits Lynn with a chair. What a clusterfuck. Candido then covers Lynn to win. Holy shit, that was a mess. BUY THE ECW CD. In the back, Joey announces Lance Storm vs. Jerry Lynn with both Mikey and Sunny as referees for N2R. Okay then. At least they finally started booking matches with two weeks left. Match #1: Rob Van Dam [c] w/ Bill Alfonso vs. Lance Storm [ECW Television Championship] This is an RVD match, but Lynn brings some different stuff to it, so this was enjoyable. RVD took some solid bumps and they had cool chair spots. RVD hits the Van Daminator and the Five Star Frog Splash to retain the title. I suppose this is where RVD starts to get up his own ass in terms of always delivering an "RVD match". Which is a shame, because all the best RVD matches come when he has to use his style to survive (vs. Bigelow, Furnas, Cena, Austin, Taker) **1/2 Match #2: Tommy Dreamer vs. Justin Credible w/ Jason, Chastity, & Nicole Bass [Extreme Death Match] This happens again. It's better than last time. The rules mean that it goes until there's a winner because at some point in the last year, ECW quietly started using DQs again. They do some cool chair spots, and Tommy takes out the posse. Rod Price runs out to interfere, which brings out Kronus, which brings out Victory, which brings out New Jack. It then becomes a fun New Jack match, with one of the higher balcony dives yet. That takes out New Jack and Victory, AND ONE MAN GANG COMES OUT! YEAH! He hits Dreamer with the 747 and then hits it on Kronus too. Spike Dudley comes out but is beat up now. Everyone but Spike and OMG conveniently leaves the ring to fight on the floor, and OMG kills Spike with some great stuff before Spike pulls off an Acid Drop through a table. And Spike Dudley pins OMG to win a singles match between Tommy Dreamer and Justin Credible. *3/4 In the back, Joey wonders how next week's show can top that, because he's the most hideous shill ever. ECW has been ruined over the last few weeks with the type of startling quickness you usually only see when someone high in the WWE office finds out a b-show is outshining the shows they care about (Smackdown in 2003, Smackdown in 2009, ECW on SciFi, NXT 2012). |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Rob Van Dam/Sabu, Since 6/27/1998 ECW Hardcore TV October 23rd, 1998 Philadelphia, PA Match #1: Sabu vs. Bam Bam Bigelow Fonzie and Francine are on the floor. This is great, it's Bigelow vs. Sabu, and it's rightly crazy since both men are super reliable. In a nice piece of psychology, Sabu goes with RVD's strategy of diving on Bigelow repeatedly. Bigelow is able to catch Sabu though and begins to destroy him with power stuff. They have this wonderful match with awesome spots for 6-7 minutes, and then Shane Douglas runs out to hit Sabu with his elbow brace! RVD runs out to take him out and clips Bam Bam's knee on the Greetings From Asbury Park, BUT BAM BAM STILL FALLS DOWN WITH IT ON ACCIDENT AND BONZAI DROPS RVD AGAGAHAHAHA. Bigelow covers to win. ***1/4 Candido comes out and they attack RVD in the ring. RVD fights them off almost, but The Dudley Boyz run out to attack RVD. It's a 5 on 1, but Taz comes out to save! Shane bails as Taz cleans house but when Taz does stuff on the floor, Shane Douglas runs in and attacks Sabu's hurt neck. Taz comes back in, and Shane runs away again. In the back, Joey goes over the N2R card and announces a Dream Partner Tag Match between Tommy Dreamer and Justin Credible. In spite of having actual wrestlers in his camp now, Justin Credible picked Jason. Joey says everyone knows that it will be Terry Funk like every other time and goes out on a limb to announce it. A video of the Dreamer & Funk relationship airs to "Desperado". Before the match, Joey Styles says they had reporters call the Double Cross Ranch, and Terry Funk is NOT the partner. He says it's a swerve, but Paul's hands are seen in front of the camera signaling to cut it out, and Joey looks like the asshole that he is. Match #2: Masato Tanaka vs. Balls Mahoney w/ Axl Rotten Their matches get lesser and lesser each time, which makes sense, since there's not really any story and it's just dudes killing each other, so I'm not excited for this. Tanaka does a solid job of changing things up, and then after like 3-4 minutes, The Dudley Boyz came out to attack them both, and the referee threw the match out. *3/4 Big Dick helps them and they throw out all three. Joel Gertner comes out and says the Dudley Boyz have no interest tonight in wrestling Balls Mahoney, and they've beaten up Masato Tanaka everywhere, and they challenge any tag team that thinks they can take them. Axl gets the mic on the floor and says if they want a great tag team, and if he wasn't injured, he'd wrap a chair around all of them, and since they can't do that, he's giving Masato Tanaka HIS spot! They go in to fight, but the Dudleys leave. Bubba says everyone knows that the Dudleys are the best scientific tag team in wrestling. They're as great as the Briscos, the Funks, the Andersons, and if there's one thing they don't condone, it's chair swinging in a wrestling match. Bubba challenges one of them to a man on man scientific wrestling confrontation, but then it goes into a tag match anyways, so what the shit? Match #3: The Dudley Boyz vs. Masato Tanaka/Balls Mahoney Big Dick, Joel, Sign Guy, and Axl are on the floor. This is a solid little 10 minutes. They do basic things in the ring, AND THEN SOMEHOW THIS MATCH HAS A DIVE TRAIN. TANAKA FIRST! THEN A BALLS CROSSBODY OFF THE TOP! AND THEN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN LIKE 2-3 YEARS, BUBBA RUNS AND DOES A NO HANDS DIVE OVER THE TOP! Bubba then uses a cheese grater. Big Dick gets involved, but that brings Axl into the action. Chair shots are had now, and after a Nutcracker Suite and Tornado DDT onto chairs in stereo, Balls and Tanaka win! *** |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Rob Van Dam/Sabu, Since 6/27/1998 ECW Hardcore TV October 30th, 1998 Cleveland, OH It is supposed to be RVD & Sabu defending the titles against Masato Tanaka and Balls Mahoney after their win last week, and Joey announces Dangan Balls vs. Dudleys for N2R. The Dudley Boyz and Big Dick Dudley come out from behind and attack them and Axl with chairs and injure them. Babyfaces come out to stop it, but Balls and Tanaka and Axl are hurt. They get carried to the back going into commercial. Coming back, the Dudleys are still there, and Fonzie challenges them to get their fat asses in the ring. Match #1: Rob Van Dam/Sabu [c] vs. The Dudley Boyz [ECW Tag Team Championship] This was awesome! Really incredible frantic run of offense from the champions early on, and the match is basically just 6-7 minutes of crazy and 90% clean offense. Lots of great dives and chair stuff. RVD is totally insane and does the Springboard Flipping Senton into the crowd, but Sabu misses a dive on D-Von and goes through a table! The Triple Threat comes out to attack Sabu, and Bam Bam hits the Greetings From Asbury Park! They all go to town on Sabu's neck, but Taz comes out to save! He fights them out of the ring, but they hit Sabu with the 3D in the ring to win the titles back after over a year. *** In the back, Axl Rotten says this is a shoot (UGH!) and says there's gonna be violence and they'll win on PPV, and they're gonna take the belts too. Match #2: Jack Victory w/ Everyone vs. Tommy Rogers Tommy does well for himself once again, and so does Victory. I love these veteran matches, they're always really entertaining. Tommy has a sweet dive, Victory goes through a table, etc. A lot to enjoy here before all the people get involved. Credible interferes with a cane shot to Tommy and Victory wins with a Back Suplex. **1/4 They cane Tommy Rogers post-match. The air the ECW Arena caning angle AGAIN. HOLY SHIT, STOP. STOP TRYING TO MAKE JUSTIN CREDIBLE HAPPEN. In the back, Joey says Justin Credible's partner is now Jack Victory. The Triple Threat comes out to the ring and Shane gets on the mic. He says the real and authentic Triple Threat is in the fucking ring. He says Rob Van Dam's doesn't mean shit, Taz's belt isn't even fucking real, and Sabu doesn't have a belt anymore thanks to them. Francine insults Cleveland and it's bleeped out for like 10 seconds. He says they're going to destroy them because he's the Franchise, they're the Triple Threat, because he made this organization, and because Taz is his bitch. In a pretape, New Jack says last PPV, they promised them a weapons match, but it never happened because Jack Victory and everyone else tried to destroy him. But he still showed up and whooped that ass at the end, and says Jack will have to meet him in New Orleans, because he's Tommy Dreamer's partner. Ain't no mystery. He gives a damn about his satisfaction, and it ain't no titles, it's beating his ass until he can't breath. He wants them all to show up, that man Nicole, that fag Jason, Chastity, Rod Price, and watch what happens in New Orleans. They're gonna be like crabs, he's gonna tear them apart and suck them down his throat and light that ass up. BUT ROD PRICE AND JACK VICTORY BREAK A GUITAR ON HIS HEAD FROM BEHIND. So I guess he's not the partner? The November Rain video airs. It's the least of the four so far, which makes sense. It horribly treats Tommy/Credible as the main feud going in though. Stop it. |

I have lost N2R twice now after several days, and being nearly 75% done with the event. this is a sign, clearly. So fuck it. ECW November to Remember 1998 November 1st, 1998 New Orleans, LA Terry Funk showed up and was insane about not being Tommy's partner and threw a fit. He sat at ringside for the opener and kept getting involved BWO vs. Danny Doring/Pitbull - ** Terry beats them up with a piece of wood before he has a mental breakdown and everyone tells him they love him before security leads him off. Tommy Rogers vs. Tracy Smothers - **1/4 Mabel and Ulf Hermann come out to join the FBI Spike Dudley vs. Mabel/Ulf Hermann - 1/4* -You know the drill Jerry Lynn vs. Lance Storm - **1/4 -Mikey is basically outside enforcer while Sunny is real referee. She favors Lynn, and Mikey favors Lance. Stuff happens some more, everyone gets involved, and Mikey rolls over a Lynn inside cradle to put Storm on top, and he counts the win. The Dudley Boyz [c] vs. Masato Tanaka/Balls Mahoney - **3/4 -Tanaka kicks out of the 3D, which is bullshit. RVD and Sabu run out to cost the Dudleys the titles in revenge. Jake Roberts is Tommy's partner instead, and works in sweatpants, a soccer jersey, and cowboy boots. God damnit. Tommy Dreamer/Jake Roberts vs. Justin Credible/Jack Victory - ** After, Terry Funk comes out to yell at Tommy some more. Tommy tries again to explain that Terry wanted time off and says he won't fight him. So Terry Funk beats the shit out of him forever before security comes out to stop it. Before the main event, The Dudley Boyz attack RVD and Sabu, but it doesn't affect much. Taz/Rob Van Dam/Sabu vs. Shane Douglas/Chris Candido/Bam Bam Bigelow - *** -Taz has Shane ready to tap in the Tazmission at the end, but Sabu hits Shane with the Arabian Facebuster, also hitting Taz, and steals the pin |

In the back, the Triple Threat cuts a promo. Shane says he's no liar, despite everything else, and says the other Triple Threat will fail tonight, because the only thing bigger than Bigelow is Taz's ego, and Sabu is too pissed off about having no belt. RVD wants to be the whole fucking show, but he's second place. He says his is the true Triple Threat, not three guys who stand together, but friends. Shane says 20-30 years from now, after they're all retired, they'll still be friends. Aw, man. Why did Shane have to be the one who lived? They re-air the Tag Title switch from next week. A recap of the tag title PPV match airs, to more jazz music. A recap of the main event airs. MORE JAZZ. Okay, I get playing to the location, but this is ridiculous. GUILTY AS CHARGED: JANUARY 10TH! They re-air the Dream Partner tag in full to end the show. |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: Masato Tanaka/Balls Mahoney, Since 11/1/1998 ECW Hardcore TV November 13th, 1998 Queens, NY In the ring, Joey Styles brings out Taz! He says it looks like he's gotten screwed again, and says Sabu screwed him again when he was choking that scumbag out Brooklyn-style. Sabu has to have the spotlight, and when he gets the chance, he's got a problem with Sabu again now. Shane Douglas comes out and says he's not out here to fight him, he's here to set the record straight. Five years ago, a brash young man was here fucking with people's heads, and yeah, that man did say "Fuck the world". Since then, Taz has began to fuck with people's heads and say "Fuck the world", and god damnit, he's gotten pretty fucking good at it. Shane says Taz maybe had him beat, and Sabu was the man who stopped him. There's one man who's ever put Sabu in his place though, and it's Taz at Barely Legal. He's got a proposition for him and says Sabu earned a title shot at Taz's expense, and he has to face him on January 10th now. But if Taz does him one little tiny favor, if he takes Sabu out before January and breaks his neck, spirit, will, and breaks him down so he can beat him in January, he'll lay the world at his feet. He'll give him the three fingers, he'll even give him Francine, he'll give him the money. Shane and Francine leave, and Joey says Taz obviously can't be bought. Taz laughs and says "obviously" and quickly leaves. Before the Tag Title match, Joel Gertner says Axl can't be in the champions' corner because he's at a hospital in Baltimore with his cancer-ridden grandmother, and they dedicate the show to her. Bubba says he kind of bent the truth a little bit, and yes, Axl is at his grandmother's side, but she's not dying of cancer. No, he's at her side because that old $5 whore is laid up at the Mayo Clinic with a bad case of syphilis. Match #1: Masato Tanaka/Balls Mahoney [c] vs. The Dudley Boyz w/ Big Dick Dudley, Joel Gertner, & Sign Guy Dudley [ECW Tag Team Championship] This was another fun hardcore match, although this match up becomes lesser and lesser each time due to not being able to match the frantic insanity and energy of the first match. They do chair stuff for a while after an initial fun brawl, and The Dudley Boyz survive the Tornado DDT and Nutcracker Suits. They block them on chairs, and win clean with the 3D on Tanaka, and Joey goes nuts claiming they stole it somehow. **1/2 Clips air from RVD/Tommy in August 1997. HARDCORE HOTLINE~ mentions a Goldberg/Bigelow brawl on Nitro, so that's goodbye to Bammer. Kinda sucks, but oh well. Match #2: Rob Van Dam [c] w/ Sabu & Bill Alfonso vs. Tommy Dreamer [ECW Television Championship] Solid face/face match. They start slow with exchanges and stalling, and it's acceptable. There's a commercial in the middle for some new cringeworthy anti-Big Two t-shirts. They have some cool offense and counters going on too. Tommy is an idiot and gives Sabu the finger for no reason, causing him to interfere. Shane Douglas then comes out to attack Sabu. They fight and Taz runs out to attack Sabu. Candido comes out to attack Taz, but RVD jumps over all of them! As this happens, Credible runs from the crowd and canes Tommy before hitting That's Incredible. He leaves and RVD hits the Five Star Frog Splash. Tommy kicks out, so the top rope Van Daminator ends it. **1/2 |

Match #1: Lance Storm w/ Tammy Lynn Bytch vs. Mikey Whipwreck They have a very nice little TV match, because Mikey gets to show off all his perfect jobber babyface offense. Great punches, dropkicks, Crossbodies, etc. There's a ref bump, and Tammy gets involved. Jerry Lynn runs out and hits Lance with a chair, but then hits Mikey with a Whippersnapper in revenge, and pulls Lance on top of Mikey for the win. **1/2 In a pretape, New Jack is in the ghetto. He says he doesn't like the studio, so he told the camera man to come to Harlem. He came, despite being scared, and says this is him. He's been in ECW for three years and put up with a lot of bullshit, but he's established himself as the Original Gangsta. He doesn't sing or dance about it, but he whoops ass and beats people until he can't beat them no more. He says he told Jack Victory he was gonna get him, and now he's out with his knee torn up. He's gonna beat everyone he puts in front of him, and ain't nobody gave him shit. They ask what happened to Mustafa? Fuck him. They ask about his next partner? He doesn't give a shit. He does his thing, he gets his shit done, he doesn't ask for nothing because he'll get his. They ask why he's still in ECW after all these problems. NIGGA, HE MAKES MONEY. He says he's done carrying people, and challenges anyone to get in the ring. Clips air of the end of a Sabu/Douglas fan cam match from Pittsburgh from before N2R. They play it off as more recent and it goes to a double pin. Bam Bam is brought out, which then brings out RVD. They do a super clip job on RVD/Bigelow, and RVD retains the TV Title. In the back, Joey Styles recaps that Bam Bam Bigelow is gone, and says he won't say that he sold out or isn't extreme, because he didn't sell out and he IS extreme. He says Bam Bam Bigelow can beat anyone in the world, including Bill Goldberg, but he's shown this year that the one man he can't beat is Rob Van Dam. Match #2: Shane Douglas [c] w/ Francine vs. Spike Dudley [ECW World Heavyweight Championship] This could have been amazing, but it was only 4-5 minutes. Really great short version of an Attitude Era title match though, with the underdog looking amazing against the champion. Spike brought in a ladder before the match and Shane destroys him with it. Spike hits the dick kick and Acid Drop, but Candido runs out to save! AND CANDIDO GETS THE ACID DROP TOO! He tries it on Francine, but Shane gets a low blow. He puts on the Reverse Full Nelson that he hurt Sabu and Spike taps out right as the file ends. **1/2 |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: The Dudley Boyz, Since 11/6/1998 ECW Hardcore TV November 27th, 1998 Philadelphia, PA In the ring, Shane Douglas welcomes us to the house he built. He says it's obvious that they want to see Rob Van Dam and Sabu kick his ass, and he's here because he has a plan like always. Taz comes out to the ring. Shane uses he and Francine's names and says they want to say something to the ECW SHOOTAH. STOP. He says as he's climbed the ladder in ECW, Taz has been his shadow and he hasn't been able to shake him. He says they're the same fucking beast and everyone's been humbled by this title but him. He goes on and on about throwing the belt down again. Shane says they're the only people that can hold their belts, and says WHEN he hands Taz this title belt after he some day beats him. He says Taz is old school like him, and he can earn his shot, but he doesn't want Sabu again. He has RVD breathing down his neck, people say Justin Credible is up next, and if they want to find out if Taz is really better than him, he's got to watch his back now that Bam Bam's gone. If Taz does the heist, he'll pay the price. He says let's see what they can do together and proposes a Shane/Taz vs. RVD/Sabu match. He says obviously this is the match everyone wants to see, and Taz again just says "obviously". In the back, Joey says RVD was already scheduled for a match next. Match #1: Rob Van Dam [c] w/ Bill Alfonso vs. Rod Price [ECW Television Championship] This is basically an RVD showcase, but both men do well. It's a clipjob too, but it looks potentially awesome. 4 minutes of cool spots, and RVD wins with the Five Star Frog Splash. ** Before their match, Lance Storm asks Jerry Lynn how many times he has to beat him. He says he has an idea, and says he's also beaten Mikey Whipwreck recently and he's in need of a win, and if he wanted to wrestle Jerry Lynn instead of him, then one of them could win a match for once. He calls Mikey Whipwreck out to wrestle for him and Mikey comes out. He tells him to shut the fuck up, and he only beat both of them with help from the other, so Lance says he can beat them both in a row, and the referee then makes him wrestle them back to back. Match #2: Jerry Lynn vs. Lance Storm w/ Tammy Lynn Bytch This was a fun little cruiserweight match. Lots of crisp basic highspots for the time, like headscissors spots, a Crossbody to the floor, a nice Spinning Wheel Kick, etc. There's some clipping, and it gets cut to some 5-6 minutes. Mikey tries to get Tammy off the apron, but Lynn shoves him off the apron. This allows Lance to get the loaded purse, and he knocks Lynn out with it to win, as Jerry gets what he deserves. **1/4 Mikey vs. Lance is cut to thirty seconds, and Lynn gets in behind the ref's back and KO's Mikey with the purse. This Lynn heel turn rules! Lance covers to win. Match #3: Taz/Shane Douglas vs. Rob Van Dam/Sabu Francine and Fonzie are both there. This was an awesome 7 minutes, and could have been great with a little longer, since the first 1-2 minutes were kind of rough. RVD and Sabu get going, and shit breaks down wonderfully. They go absolutely nuts on Shane with crazy highspots and chair things, but he fights back. He takes RVD out with two nasty chair shots, but Sabu gets him down. He hits sort of a prototype of a Conchairto, but using the top chair to hit an Arabian Facebuster off the top and pins Douglas again. **3/4 Sabu puts on the Camel Clutch on Shane for revenge, but Taz comes in to save. He puts on the Tazmission, and Sabu tries to get out. Fonzie hits Taz in the back with a chair but he hangs on. Taz locks his hands, AND HITS A TAZMISSION SUPLEX! FUCK YEAH! Everyone from the back rushes in like he's dead and Paul gets Taz back, but Sabu didn't really land that badly at all. Taz even looks concerned and mad at himself for doing it, BUT THEN STOMPS ON SABU ON THE MAT. YES. KILL HIM. RVD wants at Taz and they get pulled apart, AND EVEN FONZIE SWINGS AT TAZ AND THAT SELLS IT FOR ME. They get Taz to the back and Sabu is put in a neck brace and stretchered out. Joey screams that Taz was trying to break his neck and he's GUILTY. SELL THAT PPV NAME. In the back, Joey Styles moralizes and asks if Taz bit on Shane's offer. He has Taz on his cellphone from the Jersey Turnpike. Taz says you'd think the President just got shot in the head with all this security, referees, wrestlers, etc. running in the ring. They think Sabu's dead and he killed him, and oh, Taz is showing remorse. What a bunch of marks. So he went over and stomped on him again. When he got hurt in 95, nobody gave a shit and he walked out of the ring himself. This is all Sabu's fault. He stole his thunder, he hit him with a chair at the end of the six man, and he stole his #1 Contender's spot. He struck on him three times in one match, but he only came through on one tonight. He's got two more coming, and he knows Sabu will come back from this, and tells him to come back nice and strong, because he still owes him two. He's Taz, the FTW World Heavyweight Champion. BEAT HIM IF YOU CAN, SURVIVE IF...IF HE LETS YOU. |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: The Dudley Boyz, Since 11/6/1998 ECW Hardcore TV December 4th, 1998 Ft. Lauderdale, FL Match #1: Rob Van Dam [c] w/ Bill Alfonso vs. Mike Lozansky [ECW Television Championship] This was better than I expected and the best Lozansky match yet. He hits hard as usual, but has some nice highspots now. Lots of spin kicks and Brainbusters and stuff you'd see all over the indies in the 2000s. There's a stage on one side of the ring, so RVD did the most insane thing in a while. Mike was crotched on the railing with Fonzie holding a chair in front of his face, AND RVD RAN OFF THE STAGE TO HIT A FUCKING FLYING BICYCLE KICK VAN DAMINATOR. They just keep doing insane and super fresh high spots for 8 minutes. RVD hits the top-rope Van Daminator and the Split Legged Moonsault for the win. **3/4 Clips air of the Taz/Shane/Sabu segments from last week. In the back, Danny Doring says Sabu thinks he's unstoppable and can do whatever he wants. He wants to come back a week after his neck is broken, and suggests he fights his man Roadkill. He used to kill chickens with his bare hands. "Chickens." Doring says to imagine what he can do to Sabu. Clips air from a house show where Terry Funk confronted Tommy in the ring, and Joey talks over everything that's said. They basically repeat the angle from N2R, where Tommy refuses to fight back against Funk. A super bad clipjob of Masato Tanaka/Balls Mahoney/Hack Myers vs. The Dudley Boyz/Big Dick Dudley airs. It looks fun, but there's so much cut out that it can't really count as a match. I really hate how ECW has taken up doing this, and then when they decline, takes up showing everything in full again. The Dudley Boyz beat Hack with the 3D again. They hit it on Balls and Tanaka too, for good measure. Axl Rotten runs out to save with a barbed wire baseball bat and cleans house and bloodies up Bubba and D-Von. Match #2: Sabu vs. Roadkill Fonzie and Doring are there. Sabu is in a neck brace. Shane Douglas and Francine watch in the crowd, and Shane has an FTW shirt on. On the other side, Taz comes out to watch. This is a fun enough Sabu showcase, with Roadkill having a few nice power spots. Sabu sells the neck as much as you should expect from Sabu. He does his spots and wins with a Flying Arabian Facebuster through a table. ** Coming back, a clip airs of John Kronus about to challenge Douglas, in his street clothes, for the title, BUT TAZ COMES OUT AND HITS A HALF NELSON SUPLEX! Kronus takes it on his neck, so you buy the injury this time. Taz says if he wants to take a belt, he should come for his. Taz stomps on him, and hits a T-Bone again on the neck. Referees rush in and EMTs get a stretcher, and even Shane looks uncomfortable. They get Kronus on the table stretcher, but Taz attacks him again and chokes him out. This Taz heel turn is fantastic, and his monster reign with the belt is gonna rule! PULP FICTION: -Justin Credible says Sabu getting hurt was disturbing, someone trying to purposely end a career. He says he's guilty, guilty as charged, and he should be hung or shot. Or caned! DIE IN 10,000 FIRES. -Chris Chetti says what Taz did wasn't right, but he's been on edge all year. -Lance Storm asks how this affects him. Paul says it doesn't, so Lance leaves. -Sunny is hot on a beach -Mikey Whipwreck says he always messes these things up, so he's done making decisions -Tommy Rogers says Taz has been going over the line lately, trying to hurt people outside of matches. TAZ VS. TOMMY ROGERS PLS. He says The Dudley Boyz do the same thing, and asks how many necks you can break. They attack and beat the shit out of him, and D-Von yells "THOU SHALT NOT TAKE THE DUDLEY BOYZ' NAME IN VAIN!" giving us a fourth commandment |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: The Dudley Boyz, Since 11/6/1998 ECW Hardcore TV December 11th, 1998 Buffalo, NY Before the intro, Shane Douglas is talking in the ring with Taz behind him. Taz gives the cut-throat gesture and goes to hook the hold, but then stops. GO TO THE VIDEO! NINETEEN SIXTY FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE. In the back, Joey Styles says Shane Douglas suffered a broken wrist in Florida because his body is punishing him for being champion forever. Shane paid The Dudley Boyz to take Sabu out, but they failed, and the Dudleys assaulted a radio reporter who said that they failed. It then became Taz/Shane vs. Sabu/RVD vs. Dudleys for the belts. Sabu pinned Shane, but Taz then hit a second receipt to Sabu with a T-Bone, and the 3D beat Sabu and sent him to the hospital a second time. Before the FBI vs. Chetti/Nova match, Tommy Rich brought out the FBI's new member, THE ONE MAN GANG! YES! The match is then clipped to shit and unrateable as part of ECW's plan since June to cost the FBI the Tag Team of the Year award that they were in command of at the end of the half-year. It worked, unfortunately. But they looked great here! It becomes a 3 on 2 beatdown, until Tommy Dreamer runs out to save. It becomes a six man, and Justin Credible causes Tommy to lose again. Lance Storm comes out for his match against Mikey with a VHS of Wrestling With Shadows and Joey announces Lynn/Storm/Mikey for Guilty as Charged. Lance says he was watching this video tape and now that he knows when a superior Canadian wrestles an inferior American this close to the Canadian border, there's no way he's letting anyone put him in the Sharpshooter. He says just like Bret, he never has tapped out. Lance Storm isn't going to screw Lance Storm, and neither will Paul Heyman, because he's not working. Lance's delusions of grandeur are amazing. Mikey issues an open challenge, and Rod Price comes out! YEAH! Mikey says he said he'd WRESTLE anyone, but Rod Price fights, so he bows out. Mikey runs to the back, and Rod Price he's the baddest son of a bitch in ECW, and he wants a fight. AND NEW JACK COMES OUT! Match #1: New Jack vs. Rod Price This ruled for a 2 minute New Jack squash. New Jack strangles and beats the shit out of him with an old style telephone. He then breaks a hockey stick over his dick, and hit the Flying EL KABONG~ to win. *3/4 Chastity reveals a tight dress before Credible's match and looks decent for the abused pig-faced whore that she is, and Credible yells at her to cover up as they try to work a jealous boyfriend angle in another failed attempt to get heat on this motherfucker. This one doesn't even sort of work, since she's not really any kind of a prize anyways. Match #2: Masato Tanaka vs. Justin Credible w/ Jason & Chastity [TV Title #1 Contender's Match] The winner will fight RVD at Guilty as Charged. This is as good as Credible's going to get, since he refuses to work at Tanaka's pace and forces Tanaka into a normal match. Tanaka can do it, but it's just...y'know, why? You don't bring him in to work a normal match. And Credible kind of sucks and everything too, so that hinders this also. Tommy comes down to hit Credible with a metal thing in revenge, and Tanaka hits the Diamond Dust to win. ** In the back, Joey talks forever about the Sabu stuff, and says it's Dudley Boyz vs. RVD/Sabu for the belts in FMW, so we can finally consider them real World belts. PULP FICTION: -RVD is with Fonzie, and Fonzie says if they don't come back from Japan with the Tag Titles, he'll split the team. RVD says he's not stressed about maybe focusing on singles stuff, but he's not talking bad about Sabu with his neck all taped up, and he couldn't just throw him out. RVD says he's carried Sabu and Fonzie this far, and he'll take them to the gold alone. -Nova is sad in the bathroom about everyone leaving him, so Meanie's gone officially. Yay. He says it's time to take himself seriously. -The Dudley Boyz talk. D-Von says he walks through the valley of the shadow of death, but he fears no man, because he's taking his gold worldwide. Bubba says when you grow up inbred and are forced to wear tie dye every day, you ain't got much to live for. They've never had much to live for except the belts, and they're going on a plane in a few hours to defend them in Koreukan Hall, the most prestigious arena in Tokyo. Hahahahaha no. Bubba says they lay down for nobody and if they beat them, they'll hand them the damn belts. He says they love splitting up tag teams. The Gangstas. The Eliminators. They broke Sandman and Beulah's necks too, and loved it. Bubba says they'll be all on their own in Japan and they better be ready for a fight. -Danny Doring says it's about time he got interview time. "CHICKENS." He puts over Roadkill some more. -Credible yells at Chastity to shut up, and then asks if he and Tommy Dreamer have a problem. He asks what he did to provoke him, and says maybe it's that ECW is behind him like they used to be behind Tommy, or that he's the fans' new favorite wrestler, or that he put his partner out. I HATE HIM. FUCK, I FUCKING HATE HIM SO MUCH. He blames Chastity for everything. |

ECW World Heavyweight Champion: Shane Douglas, Since 11/30/1997 - LONGEST REIGNING CURRENT CHAMPION FTW World Heavyweight Champion: Taz, Since 5/14/1998 ECW Television Champion: Rob Van Dam, Since 4/4/1998 ECW Tag Team Champions: The Dudley Boyz, Since 11/6/1998 ECW Hardcore TV December 18th, 1998 Tokyo, Japan & Ft. Lauderdale, FL A clipjob airs of Shane Douglas vs. Gedo for the ECW Title at the FMW show. Shane has his knee worked over, and then wins with a Fisherman's Buster. Joey does a good job for once by saying no other "world" Champion in 1998 has defended it in a major Japanese promotion. Hey, that's an actual good way to put over the title without coming off as bush league and shitting on other companies! Good for you, ECW! Clips air of all the recent Taz/Shane/Sabu stuff. In the back, Sabu, RVD, and Fonzie cut a promo, and RVD basically repeats himself from last week, with Sabu standing there too. Match #1: Jerry Lynn vs. Mikey Whipwreck This was 4 minutes, and hey, whatever. They've basically ran this into the ground, seemingly relying on Jerry Lynn's ability to change things up to keep it interesting, but he clearly does not give a shit about that, and just does the same match. Lance Storm and Dawn come out to watch and Lance interferes. Mikey still can't win because he's being shat on in favor of this sack of shit Jerry Lynn, so Lance hits Mikey with a chair and says he's a loser. Lynn then hits a crappy German Suplex to win. *3/4 Clips air of the Tommy/Credible stuff from last week. Mike Awesome vs. Tanaka from Heatwave is then aired. SEE WCW IN PHILADELPHIA ON 12/30! Match #2: The Dudley Boyz [c] vs. Rob Van Dam/Sabu w/ Bill Alfonso [ECW World Tag Team Championship - Titles vs. Tag Career] They clipped this on TV, but since it's FMW, I can find it on youtube! It's a weird fucking match. It's not great since the crowd doesn't give much of a shit and it's overly long at like 18 minutes, but the weird part was the way they tried to blend a more traditional puro tag format with ECW style and it just totally fell apart into this festival of botched saves in front of a quiet crowd. Sabu was also more off here than I've seen him since reviewing ECW, fucking up most of his key spots. As the stip basically gives away, Sabu and RVD win the titles back after the Van Daminator on Bubba. **1/4 |
