* The Rules *
General Rules:

-No spamming, flaming, all that stuff. This is a banable offense.
-No attacking other members or guests.
-Please keep all religious/political/other hot button issue topics off the boards. This isn’t the place. If I have to ask you to stop doing this too many times you will be banned without hesitation.
-Try to keep things rated PG. Battles, alright, I’ll give you PG-13, like the books. Other than that… I don’t want to read a bunch of sex and excessive violence. I’ll watch tv for that.

Character Rules:

-We are a goodbeast fort and we stick with the books about this. Sorry everyone, but that means I don’t want any vermin trying to join. That includes wildcats and monitor lizards. Except for one exception in Mossflower with a wildcat, vermin and the like are all baddies. Accepted species are: mice, badgers, voles, moles, shrews, otters, squirrels, hares, hedgehogs, rabbits, bats, and some birds. (If you wish to join as a bird, please PM me first. I don’t want five birds of prey hanging around at the fort. Tips the scales way too much in our favor for a storyline that depicts us as outnumbered by the vermin in the area, you know?)
-No outrageous character traits. For instance, no glow in the dark eyes, naturally blue fur, rainbow eyes, vampire fangs… stuff like that.
-No plain/overused characters. We can’t all be orphans who are out for revenge on the vermin that murdered our families. We can’t all be crazy good with every weapon imaginable. We can’t all discover we’re royalty later in life.

Writing Rules:
-We are a literate roleplaying site, but we also accept beginners. What that means is that we do have a standard, but we’re willing to help people just starting out and give them a place to work towards improvement. We expect all our members to write in complete sentences, use correct spelling and grammar (spell check is love), and post at least four sentences per in character post.
-Along with being a literate site, we have expectations for character applications. Because your character is so important as your foundation for writing here at the site, we will only accept well written character profiles. However, we strive to turn no one away, and will gladly work with you to improve your character application until it reaches our standards (which, I promise, are not ridiculously high).
-All posts are to be written in the third person. Example: She ran into the room and pounced on the plate of scones. Not: I ran into the room and pounced on the plate of scones. Not: *ran into the room and pounced on the plate of scones*
-Only write your own character. Sometimes, small autos are hard to avoid and even necessary, but use this sparingly and always be willing to go back and remove a tiny auto if you are asked. Also sometimes two players will coordinate off-site on a post and one or more characters are heavily autoed with permission of the writers. If this is the case, please state so at the beginning of your post, or else I shall pounce on you about it.
-If you start a thread then it is generally accepted that it is your duty to guide the direction it takes. Please be dedicated to all threads that you post in, but especially those that you have started. It’s always disappointing to reply to a thread only to watch it die or never be responded to.

Board Rules: (and then we’re done, I promise)

-Okay, this isn’t a rule, but I have to mention it somewhere: members are encouraged to use pictures of their character as their icons. Like I said though, this isn’t a rule. :} It’s just neat.
-No huge graphics in your signature. I don’t want to have to set a size limit. Nothing enormous, and, please, nothing that distorts the skin. I hate scrolling horizontally as much as the next person.
-Keep OOC discussion to the OOC board.
-Advertise all you want—in the advertising section of our forums. Also, no advertising to inappropriate content. If you don’t know what is inappropriate or not think if you would show it to your mother. If the answer is no, then we certainly don’t want to be introduced to it either.

And those are the rules! Have a good time, everyone, and feel free to PM me about anything you’re unsure of.
