Level One Poster Posts: 17 Group: South Tower Guard Member #57 Joined: July 11, 2008	Name: Jacob Scobin Age (we use years): 37 Gender: Male Species: River Otter Appearance: Jacob's been wandering around the Mossflower area for years, and his travels have left their mark. He's got scars here and there, nicks in his ears and paws, and he limps slightly in the cold, due to some old injury or another. He was born with fur of a very dark brown coloring, though it lightened slightly as he matured, especially around his neck, where he now sports a bib of a soft, golden brown color. Years of outdoor living have turned it coarse, though it's never matted and he does his best to keep it at least relatively clean. As an otter, this is not particularly hard. He is a strong creature, more sinewy than downright burly, and about average height. His clothes are simple – just whatever tunic and breeches he had the chance to get his paw on. He has never had any great amount of money at his disposal, and so they are usually stained and patched a dozen times over. During the summer he wears a pair of simple sandals, in the winter he trades these in for a pair of raggedy boots. Personality: Laid back. He observes, then reacts, never the other way 'round. And sometimes he doesn't bother with the reaction at all. Everything is so much simpler as an observer. His face is usually relaxed into a rather blank look, though when it's not, he may very well be chuckling softly. Unfortunately, when he does react, he considers it final, and it will take a minor miracle to make him change his mind. It has happened, but it wasn't easy. He is also fairly self-demeaning. If something's gone wrong, and he was involved, it was probably his fault. At least, that's what he tends to think. History: Jacob was born into an otter holt, just the average son of a loyal clansbeast. He was always quieter than most otters, though that was hardly a problem for any of his fellows. His father loved him and taught him how to use the javelin. His mother loved him and taught him gentleness. He lived in the holt for years, even after he had grown, fishing, exploring, fighting against roving vermin bands. And then, one day, he left. He packed a few belongings into a small sack, slung it over his back, kissed his mother and shook his father's paw, and was gone. Years later, he found Black Arch Fort, and decided to try to settle down again for at least a little while. Skills and weaponry: He uses a spear like only a few can – both in hand to hand and ranged combat - which is probably a good thing, considering he's next to useless with most any other weapon. Except a club. Those are fairly simple. Jacob also has uncanny ability of not getting flustered. Nerves of steel, some have said. Others simply attribute it to the fact that he may very well not care that the building is burning down around him – he'll get out in time anyway. Interestingly enough, for a beast as introverted as Jacob, others don't generally seem to get irritated with him. Of course it happens sometimes, but more often than not, his words will diffuse a situation instead of making it worse.
