A rather warm breeze for the time of season swept lazily off the grasslands to mingle with the salty sea air. High in the sky, sea birds jeered and screamed at each other one last time before settling in the rocky crags for the night. The scent of fallen leaves mixed with the tang that came with the changing of the seasons filled the nostrils of a hare patrolling the wall tops. Teltoli Rifflappin Riverbuck dug in his deep trouser pockets for one of the few oat farls he had snuck with him on duty. The hare was glad he had not missed the evening meal. However, he was on duty now until the middle of the night and a few snacks to nibble on were much appreciated. As he chewed appreciatively at the good Black Arch food the hare muttered between mouthfuls. "Bally good show I got these up 'er eh wot wot! Meager meal time rations as usual. Whot's a chap teh do Hi ask yeh? Bettah not stand sideways or beasts won't be able to tell me frame from me spear." He waggled his ears low in mock dispare and stuffed the rest of the farl in his mouth. Tel was already over full from dinner truth be told, but, he was a hare and thusly always had room for more. The ruddy lapin was now striding slowly over the main gate of the Fort. He liked the feel of solid strength standing over the main gates gave him. The hare placed a worn paw on the stone frame work of the outer wall and took in a deep breath. After this he placed a paw to his brow to ward off the rays of setting sunlight and glanced up and down the path. He straightened up a bit at the sight of a few dark forms making their way towards the Fort. Moving so that a jutting rampart would protect him if the visitors were foe beasts, Tel called out once they were within ear shot. "'Lo down there! Be thee friend or foe to Black Arch Fort?" Level One Poster Posts: 28 Group: West Tower Guard Member #75 Joined: September 29, 2008	Brooke and her three children, Logan Emeric and the twin girls Shylah and Shayna were on their way to a new home. They must have looked a sight. Brooke felt like a wreck and very unorganized but her children were as energetic as ever. Logan, being the teasing male that he was, was forever after the girls. At this very moment he had a frog in his paw and was chasing the two around Brooke's legs, practically tripping her and making her fall. Loudly Shylah and Shayna squealed at their older brother and then shouted pleas of mercy from their mother. "Mama! Make him stop!" At that very moment the blonde female otter dropped every single bag that she had in her paws and began to scold Logan, wagging a pointing finger toward his muzzle while the other paw was placed neatly upon her slender hip. Logan Emeric! I'm keeping a list and giving it to your father." She whispered the last part regrettably. "If we ever see him again." Brooke then sighed. Her eyes looked a little sad. Perhaps she was just tired and in desperate need of food and sleep. "'Lo down there! Be thee friend or foe to Black Arch Fort?" Amidst the commotion Brooke barely heard the voice calling out to them but she heard it faintly none-the-less. Quickly her head turned toward the sound as her ears twitched. It appeared to be a hare. Even if she could barely make out the form his accent couldn't be mistaken. Softly the female otter giggled. The hare race always did make her laugh. Brooke took a few steps forward and then called up to him gleefully. "Aye! We are friends! We are looking for a new home! Would there be space available here for me and my three... children?" Logan now stood in front of his mother as if he were the man of the house and was protecting his mother while the girls hid behind her, fearing that the beast on top the wall may come down and bite them.

Would there be space available here for me and my three... children? Tel twitched his ears slightly at the response and looked down on the family he could now see was comprised of otters. Three young ones and an older female who stated they were her children. The hare relaxed his guard, otters were always goodbeasts and there was no reason he could see to bar them entrance. However, he did quickly scan the area in the dimming light of day before answering the otter. No other beast was in sight. He cocked his head slightly as something pricked at the halls of his memory. Something seemed familiar in the way the otter spoke. Her voice sounded like somebeast he had heard before. With the amount of friends who had come to the fort so far the hare was not completely surprised. It was probably just a trick of the mind. The hare leaned over the edge of the walls and called down. "Hold a tick miss! We'll be openin' the gates fer yah wot wot!" Tel turned and nodded to Telo. The mouse had wall duty with him that evening. "Telo mate. Watch the walltops and the surroundings while I get the gate eh? There's good fellow wot!" After this the hare trotted down and began the process of opening the gate for the otter family. Though he was not the official gatekeeper of the fort he knew how protocol went and this was part of his duties as a South tower beast any way. Still holding his spear he stood in the gap and nodded curtly to the otter and her kin. "Welcome to Black Arch Fort wot! please do come in."

Level One Poster Posts: 28 Group: West Tower Guard Member #75 Joined: September 29, 2008	Truth be told but Brooke Briar was about to collapse but she managed to hold it together, she was always good about seeming stronger then what she was feeling. But then again Brooke was also stronger then what she thought. Quickly she ushered her children to the gate with a rather large smile. What an adventure for them! "Quickly Logan. Help me get the girls to the gate. They're going to leave us in." Of course Brooke suspected that once they gained entrance that she'd have to wait for some sort of clearance or something. The four made it to the gate. Brooke's arms were filled with all of their belongings as Logan kept his younger sisters paws clamped in his own, one on each side of him. He could be such a help when he wanted to be. It was imperative that he was since his father wasn't around, a subject that wasn't spoken of by the young male otter. Indeed the topic of Rockpaw not being around left a bitter taste in his mouth. Eagerly the family stood at the gate. The hare's voice still echoed through her mind. There was something oddly familiar about him. His voice. His accent. His manner of antics. Brooke then shook her head and dismissed such thoughts. Aren't all hares like that? Quickly she committed it to her over active imagination. A long journey had that affect on a beasts mind after a while. What she needed was a long rest.

He stood to the side so they could get through and then quickly went about closing the gate. It wouldn't do to leave the fort accessible for any longer than it had to be. Once this was accomplished he turned to make acquaintance with the new arrivals. As he turned, Tel's mouth dropped open in surprise. He knew this otter maid! She had been at Ruddler all those seasons ago. Her name...yes, her name was Brooke. Brooke Briar! The hare;s mouth upturned to a large grin as he stepped forward. it was then that he realized how tired she looked. "Brooke me lass! Let me get that fer yah wot!" The kind hare took most of what she had been carrying before continuing. "Nevah thought I'd cross your path again miss. Good show!" He waggled his ears at the young ones. "And these kits...bally spiffin!" Taking a step in the direction of the keep he nodded. "You all look fair tired out. Let's get you warm and fed eh? Care to come this way?"

Brooke let her friend in charge of FEB in order to venture here and Rockpaw is on a mission, god only knows where. And so Brooke brought her friends child with her as well. Waddling behind the Steeleye family was the nanny and another child, a friend's child, named Asia. Hastily the older otter mum, named Mamsie, ushered the eight year old female through the gates. It seems that the kit had ventured off and Mam had to go find her and so she told Brooke to go ahead just in case they could capture the attention of a sentry guard. Reluctantly Brooke did so but everything managed to work out because here they were, all six creatures, standing before Teltoli. Brooke smiled widely when Tel recalled her and she recalled him. The blonde female rushed forward and gave him a sturdy but very loving hug, immediately stepping back. "Teltoli! It's so nice to see you! I have to say... It's good to see a friendly face. Are you living here now?" She assumed that he was since he had the authority to open the gates for newcomers but still Brooke had to ask since her curiosity got the best of her.

Oh, and I'm just assuming Tel helped her with her things so the following makes sense. grin) The hare felt to air rush out of his thin chest as the otter embraced him. He waggled his ears and smiled, wrapping what part of his arm he could around her. His paws were still full of some of her belongings which made it a little difficult to return the gesture fully. He eyes gleamed with excitement as she recognized him. it was always such a happy event to be reunited with an old friend. Teltoli! It's so nice to see you! I have to say... It's good to see a friendly face. Are you living here now? The hare grinned and winked at the young ones before speaking. "Tis good to see you as well miss! Far too many seasons since I last clapped eyes on yah wot! Ate, this is my new home I'm proud tah say. Wanderin' fer a bit brought me to Black Arch 'n I don't plan on leaving anytime soon wot!" Glancing about he took a few steps towards the keep. "Sadly I don't see any of them at the moment but you'll be surprised to see how many familiar faces you come across here. 'bout did me in when I first arrived. You wouldn't believe even Commandah Oceantear has found her way here!" After this he began to usher the family, including nanny and the small kit Asia towards the main keep. Warm food and good drinks would soon put them at ease from their travels.

Level One Poster Posts: 28 Group: West Tower Guard Member #75 Joined: September 29, 2008	Brooke laughed due to Tel's antics. Mam stood along side of Brooke. The twins stood 'behind' Brooke and the nanny. Logan of course stood 'between' his mother and Teltoli, of course taking his 'man of the house' protective stance with his paws on his hips (like Peter Pan :)). Asia stood along side of Logan, the two had become best friends and clearly Asia looked up to him, being the younger of the two. The blond otter couldn't help but to laugh at Logan as well as she placed her paw on the top of his head. "It's good to hear that I'll be seeing some old friends. This here is my eldest son Logan. The two behind me are my twins, Shayna and Shylah and this one here is a friend's kit and her name is Asia. Last but not least this is the kit's nanny, my helper and friend Mamsie." Brooke grinned from ear to ear then. "Everyone! This is Teltoli Riverbuck, a good friend of mine from way back when." All introductions were made. Now it would be interesting to see the interactions of the creatures that stood around each other. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting as Brooke looked around. Likely this would be an adventure that the family wouldn't soon forget and the blonde otter just couldn't wait to get settled, organized and perhaps assigned to some duties. She hoped that they would take advantage of Logan as well. His training was of the utmost importance to the female and his father, Rockpaw Steeleye.

They seemed a rather tight knit group, especially as the young male otter seemed to take a protective position over his mother. Tel waggled his ears at the young ones in him normal jovial greeting to young noes. "Well, well wot! Seems your mother 'as brought you up right eh? Bet'cher hungry. You haven't tasted vittles like Black Arch makes I assure you!" He then stepped forward and took Mamsie's paw in his own. Raising it slightly he dipped his head towards her in a more formal greeting. "And welcome to you miss. Anybeast who watches after Brooke here and these young ones is a hero in me eyes." Now Tel turned to Brooke. "Come with me Brooke matey! Bet you all could use some food and drink eh? OOC: I'm good with ending this thread here unless you want to add Brooke Welcome to BAF! So glad you could come!)
