((No problem. Happened to me before. ^_^)) Amos grimaced as SilverRose explained the situation. He was going to have to stay off his feet? The beaver didn't know if that would be possible. There were so many things he needed to get done. There was settling in to do, a house to build (although with winter coming as fast as it was, that would likely have to be postponed until spring), and a fort to explore. He had heard about an underground harbor, and that was likely where the fort's ships were docked. He wanted to see those, too. "If you'd like, I can make an herbal drink to help with some of the pain. It will make setting the bone easier and less stressful for you." Amos thought for a moment. He didn't really want to admit he needed such a thing, but his foot did hurt. And it would probably hurt even more while she was setting it... He rationalized his acceptance of the drink by way of telling himself SilverRose was the expert here and probably knew what she was talking about. "That would be nice," he nodded. "If you would be so kind." Staring at his footpaw, Amos silently cursed his ill-fortune. |

"That would be nice. If you would be so kind." "Of course," SilverRose replied pleasantly. The squirrelmaiden stepped away from Amos for a moment and went to the many shelves lining the infirmary wall. It took only a moment for her to grab a few herbs that she could mix together to make a pain-killing drought. SilverRose shook a few plants into a bowl, followed by another powder then began to grind it all together. There was some warm water already sitting over the fire, so that took away half of the battle of making the drink. Once the herbs were powdered enough, she put them into a strainer and set this over the cup. SilverRose wrapped a thick cloth around her paw and took the kettle from the fire. She carefully poured the hot liquid over the strainer so that it soaked into the herbs and changed the water from clear to a mint green mixture. The herbs would not be pleasant to drink. There were plenty of patients that sent SilverRose sour looks after they sucked down the helpful tonic. Their reactions always made SilverRose laugh. They would be happy with the drink after the herbs kicked in. The squirrel set the kettle off to the side and pulled down another jar. This one had a golden, sticky, thick liquid in it....if it could be called a liquid. SilverRose dipped a spoon inside and scooped out some of the sweet treat which she then dropped into the cup. The honey would hopefully dilute the taste so Amos wouldn't make a face. She stirred it a few times then brought it back to the beaver. "Here. Wait for it to cool down a little before you drink it. It'll not only help with the pain but also warm you up a bit." After handing off the mug, she went to a cabinet to grab a splint and bandages. She brought the materials over to Amos' side and sat down in the chair next to his wounded footpaw. She'd wait for him to drink the herbal remedy before she tried to touch his footpaw again. "If you'd like, I can have someone get things from your room to bring to the infirmary tonight. Do you need clothing, or perhaps any other medicines that you're supposed to take?" It never hurt to check. There were some beasts that liked to take certain herbs to help them stay healthy. |
