Or welcome for the first time, to any newcomers our reopening might have attracted. :} Either way, new or old, we are happy to have you! There are probably a lot of questions floating around out there about this reopening, particularly how roleplaying will start up again and how our unfortunate downtime will affect the In Character timeline. My hope is to clear a lot of things up with this post. I’ll try to keep things, as my topic description states, short, sweet, and straightforward. We are going to begin roleplaying on Monday. I will be posting our first IC thread to kick things off. The thread will help give everyone a starting point, and you are encouraged to participate in it. It is intended to help ease our writers back into roleplaying here and give everyone an opportunity to explain what happened to their character during our downtime. While the forums were down here is what happened in Black Arch’s story: Winter of the Silver Sails -Skarndor attacked on Midwinter -A huge battle took place, in which the Compass Point Inn was completely obliterated and many lives were lost on either side -Skarndor and his horde were defeated, though not decimated, and they retreated to the East -Duran ordered the bulk of Black Arch forces to pursue Skarndor and rid the land of his evil -They traveled through the winter, losing some to the snows, and had minor skirmishes with Skarndor’s fleeing vermin Spring that has yet to be named -The fighters caught up with Skarndor and cornered him by the Eastern Sea -After a huge battle the horde was finally defeated. -Duran called upon his old allies, the Gousim shrews, and rushed the wounded to Redwall on their logboats -Recovery time was spent at Redwall Summer that has yet to be named -Rested and recovered, the fighters set out on the road back home -Talyn and Roe both stepped down from their positions as Tower Commanders to pursue life as rangers. Talyn continues to seek revenge on a creature she’s yet to tell the rest of us about, and Roe’s wanderlust led her path away from the military life of routine and regiment. -A band of vermin slavers were encountered and defeated -Time was taken to return freed slaves to their homes, slowing the process of the return journey -A few weeks after Midsummer the warriors at last come up the road and returned to Black Arch, victorious Moving on, I’d like to point out a few things that are new here, and some things that haven’t changed. New Stuff -We have three new tower commanders. They will be incorporated into the IC story as soon as possible, but their OOC position as moderators and members of the leadership team have already begun. South Tower Commander – Teltoli Riverbuck East Tower Commander – Sonia Windburnt West Tower Commander – Dale Stormbreak -We have a new website. Hoorah! =D It’s very pretty (if I may say so), and I hope it is as successful as our last website was. Any returners will probably notice that a lot of stuff has been moved from the forums to the website, particularly information about the fort’s IC history, the application process, and the character listings. The reason for this is because I have strived to capture the feel of the old Redwall clubs. Does anybody still remember them? Their websites held the majority of information and the boards were a place specifically for chatter and roleplaying. I hope we might be able to keep that feel by moving such things to the website instead of the forums. Old Stuff -As before we plan to change the forum skin with each passing season. And each season is exactly three months long. By this rule, BAFs autumn season officially begins on the first of September. However, I do not plan to use this teal and black skin for just one month, so please excuse me as we use this skin for four months instead of the usual three. I’ll have enough catch-up work to keep me busy around here for a while, and frankly an autumn skin is a lower priority at the moment. If anyone wants to volunteer to create an autumn skin go for it though. Do expect a new skin for winter, however, which will begin promptly on the first of December. -Also, we have two seasons that need names! Sceo has a thread set up already where you can submit ideas. Let’s collaborate quickly and get these seasons named! =D -Some of you may remember we had a contest last autumn between towers and individuals to see who could post the most. I would like to let everyone know that I have not forgotten about the promised prizes for that contest. South Tower and Teltoli, forgive me for being so late in following through on that promise, and please continue to be patient with me. I still fully intend to complete the artwork that I owe you. And there you have it! The sum up of the changes, the storyline, and a warm welcome back! Let’s get Black Arch back on her feet again.

If you want to group your character's family together and write up a description and history for them I can add them to the player NPC listing on the website. Just PM me the information. :} Good to see you trying BAF again!
