Duran Swiftpike is the High Commander of the entire fort. The High Commander is the top of the chain at Black Arch. A plain golden circlet marks the high rank and is worn at all times while Duran is on duty. Along with the normal uniform the High Commander wears a golden pin with a single onyx stone. He wears a dark gray armband with the forts symbol of a black arch on it. In cold weather his uniform cloak is dark gray. Beneath the High Commander are the four Tower Commanders. They are all of equal rank and wear plain silver circlets at all times while on duty. They each wear pins with eight colored stones set upon it in two rows of four. Each tower division has their own appointed color: North Tower is red, East Tower is green, South Tower is yellow, and West Tower is blue. The stones and armbands of the Tower Commanders reflect the division in which they are in charge. In cold weather they wear black cloaks with an inch of trim in their division color. Each Tower Commander has a Colonel who is their second in command. Colonels wear pins with seven stones and armbands with one black stripe. Beneath Colonels are the Lt. Colonels. Lt. Colonels wear pins with six stones and armbands with two black stripes. After Lt. Colonels come Majors. Majors wear pins with five stones and armbands with three black stripes. Captains are next and wear pins with four stones and solid color armbands that are half the size of the higher ranks armbands. Lieutenants are beneath Captains and wear pins with three stones and thin armbands with a single black stripe. Sergeants wear pins with two stones and thin armbands with two black stripes. Corporals wear pins with a single stone and a thin white armband with a colored stripe. |

If you would like you are welcome to insert these small graphics into your forum signature in order to display your rank. Here are the urls of the images: East Tower Pin: http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj292/BlackArch/EastPin.gif North Tower Pin: http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj292/BlackArch/NorthPin.gif South Tower Pin: http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj292/BlackArch/SouthPin.gif West Tower Pin: http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj292/BlackArch/WestPin.gif Here is the code you use to insert an image into your signature:
Remember that these are only images of individual stones. If you are a colonel or above you'll need to add more in order to display the number of stones that corresponds with your characters rank. For example, if you are a lieutenant you would need to have three stones, meaning you would insert the image three times. I hope you guys enjoy this. I thought it was a neat idea.
