George lifted his quill off the page, and smiled thoughtfully. This was a very simplistic tree of his family, but he thought it would be rather nice to have it done anyway. To have all the entire family on the piece of parchment would be ridiculous, magic used or not. With a pleased sigh of relief, he held it up before him:

She fitted in the last photograph in the new album she'd created for herself and George of Ginette's wedding day. Blanche had been sitting on the edge of her bed as the flicked through specific photographs and lovely moments captured during her last daughter's wedding, compiling them and then slotting them into place in the large white album. Where was George today? He was supposed to have the day off work since Sophie would bring her children, Annabelle and Julien, over to stay with them for a while. He was most likely in his study. Chuckling slightly, she stood up carefully, laying the album on the bedside table before she walked towards George's study. Floating down a flight of stairs, and up another, it sounded so strange to have the house so quiet. It was morning, and Luc, Louise and their son, Lucien had left to visit Louise's mother, and younger sister, Charlotte. Jean was busy courting Jerhimi Lannigan, and of course, her daughters and their families no longer lived with them. It was empty. She missed her children. Reaching the large oak door, she knocked gently, the soft beat of her knuckles repeating three times. "George?" Her softer voice called out. |

He knew that knock anywhere, and that voice was one that would forever lift him out of any stupour and have him pointing his hand in the right direction. It was that kind of love he had for his wife. No matter that she had part Veela blood running through - after all these years, he no longer saw her outer beauty, though admitted it was a bonus, as her inner beauty glowed like a beacon. Getting up, stumbling very uncharacteristically on the desk leg, he made his way to the door and pulled it open to see his beautiful wife standing before him. Blonde hair and white dress making her look like an angel. "Blanche," He stooped to kiss her lightly on her lips and then her forehead as he took her in his arms, "My dear, have our grandchildren arrived yet? I don't think I heard their screams and the pitter-patter of their feet." Smiling, he released her, and took her hand on his arm and gently led her to his desk to sit her down in his master chair. "Look there - I've been up since early hours trying to remember exactly this much of our large family..." Pointing out the few names that were seldom heard of due to distance and so forth. "Do you think the children and grandchildren will like it?" George waited for Blanche to answer, knowing that her opinion mattered the most. Today, he'd be able to spend the day with her, Annabelle and Julien properly before he had to leave to Central London for business as usual. |

Blanche let her husband envelope his arms around her once he opened the door, hiding her face against his chest as he kissed her forehead. She smiled as he spoke softly in her ear. "No, darling," Blanche answered, "Sophie has yet to arrive, she spoke of arriving later this afternoon." Walking with him towards the desk, she let him sit her in his chair. The chair that none of their children except Ginevra had ever sat in. Ginevra was always the more rebellious one. In fact, Luc and Jean had their odd streaks, but Luc had always behaved with the pair of them, never outrightly disobeying them. And Jean, though he often deliberately misbehaved when younger, had thankfully grown out of that once he hit his third or fourth year in high school. When he met Jerhimi. Blanche had always thought that Jean would be like Luc - play the field, as Luc had once said. And though it seemed that Jean started off to follow Luc's footsteps, he seemingly found his soulmate. Jerhimi was good to him, much more perfect for him than anyone he had briefly been with. That Levana Bray - she had such fire in her...when Jean was made of fire, it didn't really help to have that added to. She was pleased with Jean confided in her that he had promised himself to Jerhimi. No matter that she came from a slightly lower social background. It didn't matter at all. Jean was from such a high background himself, and he was setting an example to all those narrow minded people out there. Looking down at the family tree, she smiled, tracing her fingertips over the dry ink - over her parents' names, and then her own and George's. She and George had a relatively large family of their own growing now. It made her swell up with pride. "It's wonderful - did you come up with this idea just recently?" Blanche cupped George's cheek, "It would be splendid if everyone kept a family tree of their own and added to it, with each generation. You know, I think the last time Mamma and Papa's tree had been updated was back in the 1700s. This is stunning. Simple yet still fulfilling." Standing, she took her husband's hand, "Come, let us wait in the lounge for the children..." |
