She was beaming, having him given into her demands and answer her questions. She especially liked the last one, and he'd taken it with stride which said a lot about him.

Playfully, she held up her right hand in pledge. She'd seen this on muggle telly...- tellyvison? telly... never mind- the box that played moving pictures. "I swear it!" Her voice held every inch of dramatization, her accent full on and rich. She clutched her other hand to her chest as she'd seen a mother who was devastated by the break-and-entry of an ex boyfriend do.

"Worst fear."

She wrinkled her nose, not really sure how to answer. "I guess... being alone. But that's everyone's fear isn't it?"

"Unforgettable moment."

She laughed. "I've had tons of moments that can be called 'unforgettable'. But if you mean a good one, I'd have to say..." She thought for a moment, her eyes moving to the ceiling for a moment before returning to his face. "Me and Riu's 7th birthday. Our parents got a whole fair into our backyard and I got to ride a unicorn." She laughed. "Dad almost got into trouble from the Ministry because the tents were attracting muggle attention."

"Friends or family?"

"That one's sort of easy." She smiled. "I don't like a very large portion of my family- you've met them, you know what I'm talking about- and I consider my brother and Shay my friends anyway. So... friends."

"Worst case scenario."

Worst case scenario? That people find out she had feelings for her cousin... but she wasn't about to say that. "Umm..." She tilted her head to the side. "Will and Ginette fighting over my brother. Though that could be potentially entertaining."

That's right. Turn it into a joke to avoid all seriousness.

His last question threw her off. She was expecting the same last question she had- he had to be curious, after all- but it seemed he had stranger thoughts in mind.

She shook her head, her curls rolling over her shoulders and a frown coming to her face. "No... I refuse to marry anyone I'm betrothed to. I believe that marriage should be your own choice." She smiled sadly. "Mother would burn out if she heard me say that."

Anyone could see he was a good audience, making the right facial expressions and grinning good-naturedly at a few of her said things.

"No... I refuse to marry anyone I'm betrothed to. I believe that marriage should be your own choice. Mother would burn out if she heard me say that."

His face reflected her sorrowful smile. He didn't really think that she'd say yes anyway.

Who in their Godforsaken mind would anyway?

"I guess being a rich pureblood from a powerful family on top of the social department isn't all that cracked up to be." He said softly, just realizing now that he was envious of Will.

She could have anyone she wanted and have more choices. Whereas him and both the Felder twins were doomed for forced marraige.

He didn't have to worry about Lara and Clara and his other cousins though. Clara didn't need to marry a pureblood because her grandmum was a muggle. And Cyprus was immensely sure that Lara, Kinshasa, Celine and every other female relative he had would only settle for the finest the world could give.

He suddenly wondered why Amman (Kinshasa and her brother's last name but a nickname for her older brother) [AN: I forgot the name Angel and I thought for him, starts with a J or something] nor Ced (Celine's) had a right to say 'no' to an arrange marraige. Oh yeah, he was the oldest of the boy's side. Ced was born somewhere around October or November while Amman and Kinshasa were what? in June or July?

Celine was in January, Lara in March and Clara in October. Damn it, he had so many relatives it was getting excrutiatingly hard for him to memorize his whole family's name and birthday.

He suddenly looked up from the socks that Henri threw at him and shrugged.

"We aren't exactly talking up a storm here."

She sighed, a pout shifting her features from a smile and her eyes danced with something like mischief. "You have to be patient, of course."

She sat up a bit straighter. Perfect posture. Chin up. Just like she'd been taught to at home. "Relationships start out small at first. It takes a lot of building." She grinned to show she was kidding around and leaned into the post of his bed. "At least it seems so."

She couldn't really think of a good example. But it sounded right. Well... she could use her brother and Will as an example. They still didn't seem to know that much about each other. Proof of when Lynn had recently asked him what Will's favorite class was and he's stared at her blankly a moment before saying, 'I don't know'.

Of course, she had been highly amused to see Riu suddenly in a panic because of the simple question- his form of panic anyway which usually meant him sitting by himself staring at something, trying to think of a way out of the situation or a proper answer (unless it dealt with dinosaurs. In those cases he flipped out completely)- and had it under good authority that he'd asked her that question the last time he'd seen her.

"Anyway..." She slid a little closer to him. Playfully. Shyly. Her legs slipping from their cross-legged position, her feet on the floorboards. She wrapped her arms around one of his and placed her head on his shoulder. "About next Friday..." She looked up at him in inquiry.

Oh no, was it just him or did he finally recognize her?

....

Nope, so there wasn't much left to do but stare at her, shrugging his own words off. Giving the fact that they were just teenagers and that unless they ran away from their homes, they were very much doomed to you-know-what you-know-when. None could be the wiser.

She moved closer, well, either that or the afterschocks of him saying yes to being her boyfriend just hit him now or something like that...

Yup, she definitely moved, even held out her arm and put them around his. Well, I think there's something wrong with Cyprus. Didn't he just kiss Lynn on the cheek a while ago? Then why did the feeling just come to him now?

His numbness had washed away, so that yes, Lynn did have extra smooth skin.

She looked up at him, his heart just dropped. Oh wait, his heart and stomach just dropped. 'Must not drool,' he ordered himself. 'Must not act like idiot too.' Lara reminded him. Cyprus imagined that she and Clara were even enjoying him trying hard not to make a fool of herself.

"About next Friday..."

He held up his other arm, the arm that was connected to the body which was trying fairly hard not to faint, and brushed a soft, long curly lock of hair from her eyes.

He always noticed but being close to her was extremely breathtaking. Her hair was a wonderful color. Somewhere around strawberry blond to subtle brown to a mix of both. He liked that color, reminded him of caramel, his favorite flavor. Apart from that, her perfume, impeccably matched her hair, almost making her long curls look and smell like butterscotch. The one that was too pretty to eat.

He dropped a small kiss on the top of her head, her hair tickling his lips. He also put every ounce of human fiber in the arm that brushed her hair to NOT let itself wrap around her, mind you, that would be an extremely uncomfortable position. For both of them.

"What about it?" He said softly.

She froze when his hands came up to shift a piece of hair from her face, but she forced herself to ignore the fact her mouth was sudden void of all moisture and her tongue felt abnormally large in her throat. She swallowed and placed a placid, easy smile on her face.

...That slipped off in surprise as soon as he kissed the top of her head.

Do...not...faint.

She pulled away from him slightly, mostly because he'd asked her a question and she knew she wouldn't be able to answer if he pulled another- rather smooth- act like that one again. She must have been a resembling a cherry by that time, and her heart was pounding rather uncomfortably against her ribcage. That coupled with the tongue tied feeling left her rather breathless and her chest heaved up and down before she got a good handle on herself.

Merlin... perhaps dating wasn't very good for her health?

She giggled nervously before making herself stop. She probably sounded like a complete moron. "Anyway..."

Anyway? What? "What are you planning for next Friday? In the Ninth commons?"

"What are you planning for next Friday? In the Ninth commons?"

'Good question, what are you going to do Cyprus?' Lara questioned him almost immediately.

Surprise surprise, what surprise to do next friday?

"I want you to meet me in the Ninth commons after dinner. If Riu asks what you're doing with me, tell him..." His voice trailed slightly, tell him what?

"We're on a study date." Okay, not exactly romantic but it was half-truth. That would mean that Lynn wasn't lying to her twin brother.

"But of course, I'm keeping the real detailed date- secret. Wouldn't be much fun if you knew what's going to happen, would it?"

But how was he going to give Lynn a good time if he didn't ask help from Will or from his cousins?

He shifted and looked at her once again. "C'mon, I think Shay would freak out if he saw his roommate with his cousin like this."

He laughed and ran his fingers over his longish blonde hair. "But I'll give you a clue on our date, I'm not taking you dancing." Yet. "So wear something comfortable."

She was smiling happily again. "Something comfortable. Got it." She nodded, and was about to add, 'so secretive...' when she heard, much to her immense frustration and annoyance, Shay's voice in the hallway.

Amazing how you could go from always wanting to hear someone's voice to fearing it.

"Crap." She passed Cyprus a quick apologetic look before sliding off his bed and back onto Shay's just as the door opened and Shay took a step through it. He was still talking to someone out in the hall- about Quidditch it seemed- before he laughed and closed the door, looking into the room for the first time.

He stopped at the doorway, a startled look crossing his face before a definitely forced smile came out.

She knew it wouldn't be forced if Cyprus' wasn't there. "Hullo..." He hesitated a moment, a suspicious look in Cyprus' direction before walking over to his bed and to Lynn.

"I've been waiting for you." She instantly went into angry mode to cover up the fact she was feeling a little flustered. "You and me have much to talk about, dear cousin."

He looked momentarily taken back before sighing, sitting down at the end of his bed. "Can't this wait till later?"

"Fine." She stood, and when Shay's eyes went down to the carpet, she passed Cyprus a quick grin and wink before moving towards the door. She turned back as she reached it to find Shay's eyes on her again. "But don't expect me to pleasant." She glared. "And you won't get out of it next time."

She turned and slammed the door and stood out in the hallway a moment. A pause. A small squeal of delight before skipping down the stairs.

Back in the room, Shay scowled and turned to Cyprus. "How long was she in here?"

Cyprus mustered enough courage as he was about to kiss Lynn on the cheek again when they heard voices outside.

'Oh shit.' Was the first thought in his mind. He rarely cursed. And it was the first time he had done it with no reason.

"Crap."

Yup, there was no other word for it. He watched her as she quickly and quietly slithered back to Shay's bed.

Damn.

Not knowing what to do, he switched his full-blowing grin to a clueless, blank look when the cousins started arguing. It fit the situation perfectly. Because Cyprus had absolutely no idea what in Merlin's name was going on.

He was a bit curious why Lynn looked angry. He'd have to ask her that on Friday.

She slammed the door, the same way Henri did a while ago, and the picture frame of him and his cousins fell off, the glass shattering to pieces. He scrambled to his feet upon hearing her squeal and whipped out his wand from his bedside drawer.

"Reparo."

In an instant, the spell fixed the broken shards (AN: Am I right?) of glass and Cyprus was trying with all his might not to burst out in laughter or even smile.

He was a bit startled to see Shaymon paste an angry look on his face and nearly shout at him. (AN: I said nearly)

"How long was she in here?"

Cyprus made a little shrug of his broad shoulders and stood up from his bed, the pillow on his lap falling back to where it originaly was. The bed. "She was already here when I came in." He didn't dare utter the words 'after dinner' because he had absolutely no idea what time it was.

Shay and him never really talked to each other. Apart from the usual borrow a quill or spare piece of parchment, besides, they usually weren't in the same room. If Shay was here, Cyprus was outside and vice versa.

Feeling that the wave of awkwards silence coming in, he strided over to his dresser and opened the top drawer to take out a fluffy white towel and his toiletries. He couldn't help himself. Right now, he was humming 'You are my sunshine'.

He grinned good-naturedly at Shaymon (the way he always did when they passed each other in the halls or during class, so he wouldn't notice something was different) and walked around him to get to the bathroom door.

"It was a gorgeous day, wasn't it?" He asked Shaymon, before he closed the door behind him.
