Lynn was staring up at the ceiling of the Ninth, 7th year boy’s dorm from Riu’s bed, her arms at her side, her hair pooling over his pillows and her sundress all wrinkled from just throwing it on that morning. She’d been wearing her robes over them earlier to classes so didn’t much mind the wrinkled bit when nobody could see it anyway. Riu was at his work desk, hunched over some books and parchment. She sat there for around half an hour before saying anything, just listening to the sound of his quill scratch against the paper and the occasional flipping of pages. However, the silence quickly got to her, and she rolled over to speak to him. “You know about the party coming up right? For Eric?” Riu didn’t turn around, only quietly dipped his quill into the ink before beginning to write again, it was a few seconds before he spoke. “Yes. Shay told me about it.” “Yes… he’s inviting a lot of girls and stuff.” Then she asked a bit slowly. “Does Ginette know why this party is happening?” “I don’t know, we don’t exactly talk about parties for ex-boyfriends.” He turned then, and she noticed once more the strange look he had on his face. He’d been giving her these looks since Luc’s wedding. She instantly felt sick to her stomach. Someone knocked quietly on the door, and Lynn sat back on the bed as the door opened, Riu turned back towards his homework a moment, quickly marking something done before turning his attention to the doorway. |

It was good. She felt much better now that she'd moved into Quesne. It was as if the atmosphere had changed, and she could forget about Eric and focus on what was more important. Except for the fact that it was everywhere now. That there was going to be a party in Eric's favour - now that he was single. Could she not escape him? For ONE second? Ginette hadn't even spoken to Riu about it, though to be honest, she hadn't even told him that she'd moved to Quesne. It made her seem weak inside. But she was slowly getting there, soon she'd move back. She just needed some time. What she needed was to just speak to Riu...maybe she'd ask him where Lynn was - she hadn't spoken to her properly for a while, and she wanted it to be like normal again. She wanted to tell Lynn that she knew and just tell her that it wasn't her fault. It was Luc's damn fault. She hadn't forgiven him yet. Knocking on Riu's door, she adjusted her fleece over her jeans slightly. Rummaging a hand through her hair slightly, she opened the door and peeked in. Seeing Riu first, she smiled, and then stepped in and saw Lynn. Her face brightened a little more, "Fancy you being here, darling - I've been meaning to catch up with you for a long time." There was something awkward about the atmosphere here...it was distinctly similar to that in Rakin, and she didn't like it. But she kept quiet and sat on the edge of a spare chair, after kissing Riu chastely, and Lynn on the cheek. "How've you both been?" |

Ginette was at the door. Riu smiled at her as she came over to kiss him lightly, and he let his fingers brush against her side a moment before setting his quill down and shoving his books away, marking a spot in his charms book with a torn piece of parchment and neatly folding his homework up so it wouldn’t get ink spilt on it or something. Lynn was a little bit rigid on the bed, smiling when Ginette kissed her cheek and she gave her friend a small squeeze in return. But she looked awkward. And she felt awkward. Riu hadn’t told her that Ginette knew about the whole Luc thing as well. He knew she’d be mad at him, thinking he’d been the one to tell her, so he hadn’t brought it up. But of course he hadn’t brought it up before because he didn’t want her to dwell on it. Dwelling on it might be bad news. She was drunk. They kissed. It was over now. It had to be over now. So he simply didn’t bring it up. But Riu felt now as if Ginette would mention something about it, and he was eyeing her with this thought on his mind, a little bit worried before he turned his gaze on Lynn again. It was as if his twin had someone become an unknown part of an equation in his life. He’d had her sort of categorized before. His twin, a near opposite to him who depended on, not him, but their cousin. She was most like father, while he was like mother, and she was engaged. Her future was set out before her, and she would be happy. Now it was all falling away, and he had no idea what to do about it. He felt he should somehow fix the situation, but he couldn’t. He didn’t know how, and he wasn’t even sure it could be fixed. "How've you both been?" Lynn didn’t say anything, but Riu did. “Busy… paper work. School work…” He had a lot less to do now that Cyprus had gone off on his own sort of, but he didn’t say this outloud, only passed an awkward glance in Ginette’s direction, for some reason hoping she would save him from his own sister and the torment he felt when around her. What was wrong with him? Was it is his disorder taking effect in a new way? That he couldn’t be around his sister? “How come you’re not in Rakin any more?” Lynn’s voice was curious. Quiet. “Where did you go?” She’d gone looking for Ginette the other day, Riu remembered now, but she’d come back shortly afterwards all alone. He never asked what had happened, and she never told him, so he passed Ginette a curious look now. |

“Busy… paper work. School work…” She caught the look Riu sent her. Strange - it was as if he needed saving. But she fell dutifully into the task of doing so. "Don't I know it, it seems that our final year has a lot of work in store for us..." Ginette smiled at Lynn and Riu, "Are you planning on going to any particular seminars?" That's it, ease into the conversation. She felt that tension dissipate slightly, and felt a whole lot more comfortable, relaxing into the chair a little. Of course, the seminar thing had been on her mind really - which one should she go to? She wanted to go to the Defence Against the Dark Arts one - that had been her best subject...and maybe the Charms seminar...but she didn't think she'd ever go to the Divination or Creatures ones. Of course, then again, with her new respect for Linfield, she might just go to Divination and not stir anything for once...Confusing stuff. This was their final year, and it hadn't started off on the best foot...with so much to do, she wondered how she'd fit it in. But then Lynn said, “How come you’re not in Rakin any more?” Her mouth opened slightly, as if her normal quick answers was about to come out, but her throat felt tight, her mouth dry, and so she shut it again. She'd been staying with Jerhimi since she'd offered her a room. Of course, she had been planning on staying with Jay, but it would be easier staying in the girls dorms, especially since most of her female friends came from there. It was quite fun as well, getting to know her little brother's girlfriend was interesting. She certainly was a whole lot more different from Ana. “Where did you go?” "I'm staying in Quesne for a while," Ginette's voice was just as quiet, and she couldn't look either of them in the face, "I'm sorry, I wanted to tell you sooner." |

“Well… that would explain why Shay has been seeing more of you recently.” Lynn smiled at her friend, but Riu was looking at them both with a strange look on his face. Nobody had told him anything like that. Shay hadn’t even told him this. But of course, he talked to Lynn more than he talked to Riu. And of course, both Lynn and Riu were wondering why Ginette didn’t just come to Ninth and stay with them, but none of them voiced it surprisingly enough. Lynn had been told by Shay that him and Ginette had bumped into each other in the common room and got into a conversation about… who knows what. Shay didn’t say but he seemed embarrassed about it. “Did you leave because of Eric?” Lynn scrunched up her face. “A lot of people don’t seem to”— But she cut herself off because she’d been about to say that a lot of people didn’t seem to like Ginette anymore because of what she’d done, and the stuff Eric had been saying. Though Lynn found that some of it was well warranted for her actions, some of the things were a little over board and cruel, and some of them… well… she couldn’t defend because of her own actions. Riu on the other hand, had just about attacked a kid the other day who was saying that Ginette had done some… less than favorable acts with some kids in the Rakin quidditch team. He would have done some serious damage if Shay hadn’t snatched his wand away at the last second and told the kid to bugger off before he was eaten. “Nevermind.” A hasty useless retreat on Lynn’s part, and Riu nearly cringed before he set in damage control. “Are you staying with your brother there?” He stood up from his chair and went towards her, tucking some hair behind her ear in hopes of making her forget what Lynn had been about to say, if she understood what she’d been about to say at all. Lynn looked highly embarrassed for nearly slipping up. |

"Did you leave because of Eric? A lot of people don’t seem to - " Her head snapped up a little, a dark and angry look in her eyes, as if threatening Lynn to finish her sentence, but she blushed and looked away, hoping that Lynn hadn't caught that look. A lot of people don't seem to what? That was what she wanted to ask. Not like her? Really? Well, that's a shocker. She wasn't exactly proud of her actions either. And every single day that passed with the start of this new year, she kept regretting it even more. All she had to keep her pride was that Riu was still with her. And hadn't left her. That was all. And besides...she'd made a lot more friends this year rather than lost any. In fact, she thought that this glitch with Eric helped her make them. Though some...such as with Elise...some had become a little tense. Funny, when last year, she hadn't persuaded her to stop it. To stop and break it off with Eric before she chose to continue her relationship. Whatever, it wasn't Elsie's fault. It was her own. She wanted to leave. Coming here was a mistake. She wasn't prepared yet to defend herself properly. She had to go back and just pig out on some chocolate or something. Maybe she'd go and hang out with Jerhimi - Jerhimi didn't seem fazed by the social grapvines in school. Rubbing her thighs a little, she decided she'd leave before she lost control of herself - her temper was warming up slightly. But feeling Riu's hand push a lock of hair behind her ear, she looked up a little. "Are you staying with your brother there?" Nodding, she said in a quiet voice still, "Yes...but then Jerhimi asked me to stay with her, so I'm with her for a while..." Only for a while - she hated being a burden to anyone...dependent on anyone. She wanted to just build up her self-esteem again, some good defences, and then just march back into Rakin and do some damage control on her part. She needed to win back the respect of those Rakin buggers easily swayed by Eric. |

Riu smiled down at her at her response, happy that she seemed to be doing ok throughout all this backlash. Her brother was doing a fine job sticking up for her anyway, and Jerhimi was a nice girl. He gave her a small kiss on the mouth before pulling back suddenly. “What time is it?” Before anyone could respond, he was checking his own wizarding watch, mumbling to himself about time going by way too fast, and something about the library before he spoke more clearly. “The library closes in 30 minutes. I have to go pick up some books before tomorrow.” Despite the fact it appeared he had enough books in his room. He’d brought a few with him from his father’s library, and it looked like he had enough library and school books around his room to last for years. There were piles of them in corners, on his desk, near his bed. There were other small reminders around to the fact he didn’t sleep very much. Scrunched up paper in his waste basket, half drawn images tacked to his work board. There was a picture he’d been in the process of painting which had started off light and pretty but which had now somehow been accosted with dark purples and greens. Riu walked to a pile of books and quickly pulled out a few, looking a little bit flustered when the pile toppled to the ground, but he left it there, quickly grabbed his wand from his desk, his book bag off the back of the chair and stepped up to Ginette while shoving the bags in. He gave her a quick kiss on the forehead, then the mouth before mumbling something about seeing her later, or tomorrow before he was out the door. Lynn spoke the obvious. “Does he need anymore books?” Then she realized that her and Ginette were now all alone and she fell silent, staring a little apprehensively at her friend. She opened her mouth to say something but only got as far as “I” before she realized Ginette had started speaking at the same time. |

She felt stronger and a lot more comforted by Riu's kiss, but suddenly he was up, seemingly frantic about - the library? Books? The madman was already grabbing a few and dumping them in a bag, mumbling about meeting her later or something and shot out the door. “Does he need anymore books?” Turning to Lynn, she laughed a little, "You know, I hardly know what goes on in his mind sometimes...It's like his brain never stops to relax...work work work." Of course, that was partially explained by his funny little problem. But really, he always was that type of person - off to the library at any instance he needs something. Ginette then sighed and remembered that she was still in here with Lynn. Now was a better time than any, right? Lynn seemed to have thought to break the dawning silence too, but she stopped and let Ginette continue. "I'm sorry - with my distant behaviour recently..." Ginette went over to sit by her, "How've you been, gorgeous?" Well, she couldn't exactly launch into the "I know what you did last summer" business, could she? That just wasn't how it was done. She'd get there soon enough but slowly and gently. Lynn was her best friend, and so she would always consider her feelings rather than what her own first. "I suppose you've heard about that party, too, hmm?" Ginette smiled, "I think Eric's been in favour after our little split - getting all the attention now." |

It was hard for her to register the fact that Ginette was being just her usual self towards her, and she couldn't get passed the fact she thought there was something false behind it because she'd been paranoid all along that Ginette might know. She hadn't asked Riu if she knew, and she most certainly had not talked to Luc about it. So she stayed quiet, and found herself just smiling a little bit uneasily at her longtime friend before she even thought it might look funny and that she should say something. Say what? She felt so awkward... so see through. Did she know? Or was she just imagining the strange flicker in Ginette's gaze... or maybe Ginette was just feeding off the nervousness Lynn felt. "I've been ok." She smiled and got onto her knees, crawling across Riu's blankets to get closer to her friend. For all Ginette knew, she could be upset about Cyprus. Was she even upset about that? Yes. Because she didn't realize how often she was around him until she came back to school to find he wasn't here. Ginette was always with Riu, and Shay was always with Nora or Eric, or one of his other many friends. Lynn had been hanging out with Elsie a little bit, but besides that she felt a bit lonely, and she hated this would be her last year, and she doubted she would enjoy it very much. "I suppose you've heard about that party, too, hmm?" Ginette smiled, "I think Eric's been in favour after our little split - getting all the attention now." Lynn smiled a bit wryly. "A little bit yeah... he's making a lot of friends." She didn't mention that Shaymon was part in that. Though, Ginette might know that. Shay had been seen around the school a lot lately talking to pretty girls asking them to the party ...much to Lynn's annoyance. "Are you... going to go?" She voiced it caustiously, not really sure why. "I mean, Shay told me that he's inviting me and Riu, and he said he won't stop you from coming -- he likes you, you know -- so you can show up sort of a Riu's date or whatever." |

As they'd grown older, Lynn and Ginette stopped looking so much like each other. Of course, there were times when they did look alike again, but generally, they had grown into their own identities. Yet, there was still that connection that made them seem like sisters sometimes. When Ginette thought of it that way, she was quite frankly disgusted that Luc had made out with Lynn. But all Ginette had to do was realise that she was her sister - their sister. That Lynn was a beautiful girl and Luc had always seemed to like her out of all her other friends anyway. It was bound to happen at some point, but why then? Luc was never one for timing, she supposed. Stupid brother of hers. Yes, it was Luc and herself that were the rotten apples in the family. Jay and Sophie were the darlings. When Lynn came closer to her, Ginette smiled - back to normal...almost. She still hated that Cyprus had called the engagement off so abruptly, and left for Hogwarts el pronto too. He may be caring, but had he really thought about how this would affect Lynn? She must be hurting so much... "A little bit yeah... he's making a lot of friends." "I've heard," Ginette smirked a little. She honestly didn't really care. Good for him after being holed up in his stupid room for the past two to three years or so. It was about time he got out. Mind, she was making a few friends of her own. So it was all good, really. She had noticed that Shay had been inviting a lot of pretty girls to the party, which Ginette found very amusing indeed. Oh, this was not going to hurt her in the slightest. This was going to be very fun to watch. Eric had only been with one girl, sought after by one girl, and had the attention of one girl, so how would he react with a bunch of hysterical younger ones? "Are you... going to go? I mean, Shay told me that he's inviting me and Riu, and he said he won't stop you from coming - he likes you, you know - so you can show up sort of a Riu's date or whatever." Raising an eyebrow, she considered it. Well, no at first she didn't want to go. Why should she? But then, she never stayed away from parties - even the Robeless ones (admittedly most of them were theirs). Oh yes, she was easily falling back into her old bitch boots. "And ruin Eric's night?" Ginette asked with a fake gasp. She laughed and added, "I'd love to." Then Ginette looked back at Lynn properly, "But really, Lynn - have you heard from Luc lately? He's been getting ready for the World Cup, and has told me to invite you, and Riu and Shay of course, to the opening match in the Summer. He wants you to make sure you have the dates free." |

Lynn wasn’t entirely sure if she wanted Ginette to be spiteful and show up at the party just to trump Eric. She was going just to have fun afterall, and she didn’t want to dissapoint Shaymon by not showing up, or being a bitch when she got there. But she didn’t voice these thoughts outloud. "But really, Lynn - have you heard from Luc lately? He's been getting ready for the World Cup, and has told me to invite you, and Riu and Shay of course, to the opening match in the Summer. He wants you to make sure you have the dates free." Her expression changed instantly, from one of indifference to once of complete fear to instantly a look of frustration as always happened when any mention of Luc since the wedding. Well… she was pretty good at keeping her feelings down when it was her brother who mentioned something, or Shaymon, but with Ginette… with Ginette it was difference. Did she know? “I don’t know if I can come.” Silly. Of course she could. She just wasn’t sure if she wanted to. “I mean… if you think I should go I will. I just…” Oh Merlin. She felt a bit sick to her stomach. Talking about this with Ginette. “I haven’t heard from him though.” She hadn’t written anything to him either of course. She sounded a bit suspicious. She knew she did. Ginette would find something not right about this discussion, and if she knew about the whole affair already this might just make her angry. She was sitting on pins and needles with her hands clasped in her lap, her gaze on the carpet. |

Now that she thought about it, she didn't even know why she moved to Quesne. That was it, by the end of the week she'll move back. And she'd also make a trip to Eric's room once more, to dig out the stuff she'd hidden for whatever reason had seemed fitting at the time. And did you know what she was going to wear to this party? That red silk halterneck. With the ruby necklace...earrings...belly-button ring. Perfect. Good thing it was in fashion too. Oh yes, she was going. This party was, in other words, a bitch fest against her. Might as well show them that they couldn't get her down. She'd go. And she'd congratulate Eric in his new found freedom. She'd be very happy for him. But the minute he spoke something publically. That'd be the end of the acting. Then she'd bring the stake down through his heart and finish him off properly. Her eyes were close to being pitch black. Did Lynn notice? Inside, she could feel herself losing control...and so grabbing onto the Luc issue, she willed her anger down. Her pride down. Her thirst for sadistic humour down. Ah yes, that was what was another difference between herself and her best friend. Their houses said it for one. Lynn was too nice. Ginette could be a cold hearted girl if need be. Deciding it would be practical to just never let Lynn know that she knew...she thought it would be better to have Lynn tell her instead. If she didn't? Well...another time, maybe. She'd force herself to treat things normally once more anyway. “I don’t know if I can come. I mean… if you think I should go I will. I just…” "Why, of course I think you should come - this is the World Cup, not everyone gets the privilege of having the best seats..." Ginette looked at her curiously, "I'd thought you'd want to come...I felt for sure there was nothing else planned anyway during the summer..." “I haven’t heard from him though.” "Really?" Ginette had to think hard here. Luc ALWAYS wrote to Lynn - he'd told her so much in his letters to her. In fact, the reason he'd aked her to ask Lynn to come was because he'd not received an answer from her. "I thought he always wrote to you..." Ginette tried a gentle approach, and reached over to place her hand over Lynn's, a concerned look on her face, "Did something happen between you two, Lynn?" If Lynn wanted to tell her, that would be perfect. If not...she wouldn't mind...She just hoped her friend trusted her - after all, Ginette didn't blame Lynn. It was Luc's fault through and through. |

“Really? I thought he always wrote to you?” She swallowed and it felt like an entire meal going down her throat, scratchy and dry. She wanted to down a bunch of water, pretend to be tired and just go to sleep so Ginette would leave her alone. The fact was, of course, Luc had written to her. A lot. And she hid all the letters underneath her mattress. She knew it wasn’t the best thing to do, for if someone found them they would no for sure something was going on between them. But in fact, she hid them there so she wouldn’t be tempted to look at them. She had to crawl under the bed to retrieve them, which was quite irritating. If she had a freezer she’d charm the letters to be water proof and stick them in a tub of freezing cold water so she’d never attempt to look at them. As it was, she’d opened a few, but the ones she’d opened never asked her to come to the Quidditch World Cup. The one’s she’d opened had been short and impersonal besides a few little hints in there that he must have put in to show he was sorry. She didn’t want to hear that he was sorry for some reason, and she felt horrible for it. "Did something happen between you two, Lynn?" She’d kept her mouth shut for the letter question, which obviously wasn’t very smart on her part. She could have lied. Said ‘Oh yes… short letters, but I think the Quidditch ones might have gotten lost in mail.’ Would she believe that? But now she was faced with this question, and she didn’t want to answer it, but knew that if she didn’t, it would only answer it for her. But would Ginette hate her? “…Yes… actually. At his wedding.” She didn’t want to look up at her best friend, so she kept her gaze on the carpet, in her lap, on the wall… anywhere but at her. “I don’t know… why…or how.” |

Yes, she knew for sure that Luc had written to her so many times...and when Lynn answered her question at first with an awkward silence, it just confirmed what Luc had told her the next morning. That he had made out with her. Well...as long as it wasn't something else. The moment Lynn began to stumble over her words, Ginette knew that Lynn had taken to just tell her the truth. She was happy about that. She was happy that Lynn could trust her - and at the right moment, she'd tell her that she wasn't angry. It wasn't her fault. “…Yes… actually. At his wedding. I don’t know… why…or how.” Her eyebrows furrowed, and Ginette squeezed her hand slightly, "What happened, Lynn? Did something happen to you?" Of course, she wouldn't go to far in her coaxing, lest it sound too pushy. Lest it put her off from talking to her any further. But Ginette felt that a little more wouldn't do any harm. Just to get her going in the right direction. "Did Luc do anything to you, honey?" Ginette's voice was low, soothing, "If he said or did something awful, let me know - I'll teach him a thing or two." Reaching over, she just sat quietly for Lynn to continue free from any interruptions. "What is it, Lynn?" Ginette asked even more gently, if that were possible, once more. |

Ginette made it seem as if something terrible had happened… like she’d been taken advantage of or something by Luc. Like he’d locked her in a room and did terrible things to her, or brain washed her or something. She felt even more guilty knowing that wasn’t really the case. She’d been enjoying herself quite a lot, and though she had been drunk, she hadn’t been drunk enough to loose her head completely. She could have told him no. She could have not kissed him back. She could have avoided him. Well, she was certainly avoiding him now, but purely out of guilt and not lack of interest in him. She was sure that other girls in her position might feel the same way. An older guy liking her… and captain of the British Quidditch team no less! Quite the catch. …Too bad he was married. But she’d been recently engaged herself! And she was suppose to be saving herself for Cyprus. She knew she wanted to, even though he called of the engagement. But he said he would come back to her, if she still wanted him, when he had everything sorted out. .Where as Luc was not available at all. And what did he want with her anyway? She was younger, not even graduated yet. Just the excitable little girl who was friends with his sister and whom he used to play tag with. And she liked his wife. She was very nice. “It’s nothing terrible. He didn’t hurt me or anything.” Then, a little bit quieter. “It was partially my fault. I didn’t stop him…” She turned her gaze on Ginette, forcing herself to do it. It was hard to do. “He kissed me… then we sort of kissed some more… in my room. I was drunk, but not too drunk.” Then she buried her head in her hands. “I’m so sorry. I feel awful! I didn’t want to tell you because I never wanted to bring it up again, which is why I’ve been avoiding Luc.” |

"It’s nothing terrible. He didn’t hurt me or anything." Well, at least Lynn wasn't going to lie either. This was why Lynn was her best friend, because she didn't really lie to her face. Because she knew that she could trust her. That felt nice. Because Ginette could trust Lynn too - with her most darkest secrets...Like when she cheated on Eric. "It was partially my fault. I didn’t stop him..." Looking at her a little closely now, she said, "Thank goodness he didn't do anything stupid them...but what do you mean? Didn't stop him?" She could tell that it was difficult for Lynn to look at her. This is why Ginette didn't want to tell Lynn that she'd known before hand. It would have been embarrassing and messy. "He kissed me...then we sort of kissed some more - in my room. I was drunk, but not too drunk." Ginette stayed silent, and instead looked away herself. She hated Luc for his stupidity. "I’m so sorry. I feel awful! I didn’t want to tell you because I never wanted to bring it up again, which is why I’ve been avoiding Luc." Looking up, she said sharply, "Stop it, Lynn," then gently, "You shouldn't feel sorry because it's not your fault - it's that ass of a brother of mine who's put you in this state. Honestly, he's a seducer. And a stupid, unfaithful one. I can't believe he did that to Louise. It's not your fault. You were just the angel that fell in his damn way. Too pretty see - he always falls for the pretty ones..." She hugged Lynn, and stroked her hair, "Oh Lynn, why didn't you tell me sooner? Wait till I get my hands on that filthy boy." |

He always fell for pretty girls. Some part of her hoped it was more than just her looks that brought Luc to her, even though she knew thinking that way was selfish and stupid. It didn’t matter. He was married and it would never happen again. But had she been flirting with him earlier? Before the whole thing happened? Probably, she wouldn’t put it past her. She remembered sitting in the kitchen with him while he cooked for her. She’d been flirting a bit then hadn’t she? When Ginette hugged her, she tensed a moment before relaxing in her best friend’s arms. Ginette forgave her… but Lynn felt guilty because she didn’t tell Ginette all that was on her mind. Like how she’d enjoyed herself… “I’m sorry. I really am. It was hard to tell you because he’s your brother and you care about him and I”— …Could have ruined everything for him. If someone had caught them. If Louise had caught them… what then? “But don’t get mad at him, please.” Because she didn’t want him to know that she told. She didn’t want him mad at her. She didn’t want to loose his friendship. His trust. She couldn’t stand it. To loose another person like that so quickly. Why was her life falling apart? She’d previously had everything so well planned out. Maybe that’s why it was collapsing, because she’d planned it too well and that’s just not the way life is supposed to go. But what about Riu? What about Riu? His life wasn’t going as planned either. Their father had died younger than they ever thought, leaving Riu in charge of the family, and then he was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. He was involved in an affair that was highly talked about, and publically fought one of his cousins at Luc’s wedding which caused some family tension to say the least. He was on rough terms with their mother too, and then was faced with even more public scrutiny when he allowed Cyprus and his twin to remain engaged despite Cy’s family problems. His life was filled with problems. …But at least he had Ginette. “You’re so lucky…” |

"You’re so lucky..." Everything that Lynn had said before went out of her mind...her apologies...explainations...Lucky?! Let's take a look at all the lucky events, eh? She had thought she would be happy dating a guy so amazing as Eric back when they were younger, but of course, rifts occurred - and she lost her friendship with her best friends because of it. Not only that, but the lovely Aurora had decided that rumours were a wonderful way to destroy a person. Superficially yes... It's not that difficult to say she wasn't exactly everyone's favourite queen bee, though she had admirers and her popularity in other ways. (Not good ways either, really.) Things began to suck though. Things with Eric began to suck. He was becoming depressed...as if she wasn't depressed already. She hated losing her friends - she hated losing Riu and Lynn...she got another piercing...a small tattoo, though she didn't even think Riu had quite registered that one properly in their bouts of love making (on the very small of her back, a blossoming flower). She was quite frankly dropping in her parents gaze as well as society. Then she committed a bit of a sin. Okay, a big sin. She cheated on Eric. Right, the least she could have expected was for him to confront her this year. But the asshole thought that bitching behind her back, making more enemies for her (as if it wasn't bad enough already), and to top that off, throwing a party AGAINST her favour. Really, she wasn't lucky in the social area for one, she supposed. No matter that things were looking in some areas. Another area? Her blood. There was something wrong with her. Different with how Riu was slightly messed up...and yet similar. It wasn't good. It was the reason why she sinned. It was the reason for all the stupid exaggerations in everything really, she figured. But then again, she hadn't lost her father, or had a brother that had a funny little problem (then again...), and even though she had a horrid waste of a betrothal with stress accompanied with it, she didn't think she was as hurt as Lynn. "We're both unlucky in some ways..." Ginette finally answered, "And yet lucky to at least have each other as friends still...even after so long...after everything we've been through." |

Lynn stared at her friend a moment before a small smile came to her features and she hugged Ginette tight, a little bit of a laugh coming out. They had not been friends for a while there, she supposed she was lucky that they’d made friends again. That everything was back to the way it was when they were younger. Well… friendship-wise anyway. “That’s true… but I meant you’re lucky to have Riu.” She sat up a little straighter, before tugging Ginette down to lay next to her on Riu’s bed. She wondered when he would be back from the library. Sitting up on her elbow, she faced Ginette and smiled. “He’ll take good care of you. I know he will.” Then she frowned in a mock-upset way. “And you get to live in our house. I’m jealous.” Because she would have to move out if she ever got married. How come it was always that way? How come the daughters didn’t get the house. But then Lynn scrunched up her nose slightly. “Argh, but you might have to live with Mother. You need a lot of strength and self-control to do that. Riu always seems to want to strangle her.” She didn’t always used to be so intolerable. It was getting worse with the aging and drinking, and since she became a widow. “Maybe Riu will send her to Thailand or something. Give her a nice house there to get her out of your hair.” Why was she talking about this now? To distract Ginette from the fact she’d previously had an affair with her older brothers, that’s why. |

Finally, her friendship with Lynn was practically back to normal. She hugged Lynn back tight, and laughed a little as well, before pulling away to listen to what she was saying properly. Riu? Oh...she was lucky about that. She was lucky too in the fact that he wasn't one of those guys that simply enjoyed the thrill of helping a girl to have an affair and then just ditch her. She really was lucky with Riu. Falling back onto the bed with Lynn, she found her comfort spot easily - the place she always favoured in his bed, and snuggled in a little. She could smell Riu there...it reminded her of him so much. Would he be back from the library soon? Well...part of her hoped not. She was enjoying being back on good terms with Lynn again now that the wall had been broken down. She blushed a little, something that happened rarely, "He'll take care of me..." Then she sat up when Lynn said that Ginette would be moving in with Riu...she would be moving out of her home... "Oh, Lynn!" Ginette sulked, "I feel for you - I know you love your home...Mind, I love it too...it's like moving from one home to another for me I suppose..." It was on the tip of her tongue to ask if Lynn had been to Cyprus's home a lot and what she thought of it, but she decided against it. At the mention of Lynn and Riu's mother, she just laughed a little, "Oh...I don't know, I wouldn't really want to shove her out of her home..." Well, she really didn't. Albeit, she didn't know their mother all too well, and most of the time it was quite friendly...however, she remembered the few times when her mood changed...and how there was always a glass of something alcoholic in her hand. Oh she liked this talk...thinking of herself in the future...it had quite neatly wiped away the thoughts of Luc and Lynn that she had just been pondering about previously. "Lynn, I don't want you to leave - tell your husband to move in with you! It would be so much more fun," Ginette teased. |
