It was amazing what and where a girl could get herself with a great dress and a bat of the eyelashes. New Years had always been one of her favorite celebrations, however this year it was even more fruitful. She'd spent part of the night with her family in Ireland since she hadn't made many acquaintances in London yet, before apparating off to NYC to celebrate all over again with her college buddies. Caz has hit the town with her best girlfriends in a brand new dress purchased from her new employer's store and a killer pair of boots. Snow had just started to fall as they made their stop at Times Square right before midnight. In never having been shy, Cassie had grabbed a handsome boy all on his own and laid a solid smooch on his lips as midnight struck.

Well luck had it that he was indeed single on his winter break from Northeastern where he was currently finishing up his master’s degree in architecture. A few pleasurable nights later, Caz had some decent sketches of what she wanted to do with Cyprus and Lynn’s new venture. With a promise to call him if the designs were well-liked Cassie had retuned to London, ready for a wonderful start to a new year. She had a steady job, making a ton of cash at Promise and adjusting the sketches by day so that they were exactly what she wanted. They were finally ready to show the bosses, so Caz balanced the sketches, swatches, her notes and three cups of the best coffee she had found so far while meandering her way through the busy streets to the club. Of course she’d forgotten to call and warn them that she was coming, but that was Caz; a constant hurricane.

Smiling at the crew preparing for the night, she made her way upstairs without spilling or dropping anything as she knocked on the office door. Her charcoal cashmere hat hid her mountain of strawberry-blonde curls, a few spilling out here and there while she was bundled up in her favorite wool pea coat. She hadn’t really bothered to get dressed, but Caz could make simple jeans and an over-sized sweater look good. “’Ey mates, I’ve got my sketches!” She called into the office hoping somebody was around. Without waiting for a reply she made her way into the office and dropped everything but the coffee on the floor.

Her reading glasses sat perched on the bridge of her nose as she’d forgotten to take them off and she generally looked like somebody who had just rolled out of bed. Granted, she had and she didn’t care. She pulled at her patchwork scarf and hat, revealing a rather messy ponytail underneath and dumped them on top of her coat. January had been rather bitter to her so far, but it wasn’t entirely all that different from winter in Cork or New York City and her wardrobe covered a range of climates. For right now though she was enjoying the London fashion scene and it helped that Lynn was a designer; it made shopping a whole lot easier. “Hope I’m not disturbing anything.” She said as she straightened, trying to make sense of her own little mess.

OOC- is there anyway to make the text of the threads when writing any bigger, I can hardly see it!

It would nearly be an accurate statement to say he’d been living and breathing work lately. For a few months now, it had become his life, getting here early in the afternoon, leaving around 3 in the afternoon, or 4 if things were hectic. New Years was extra work, but Lynn had pitched in for that full force, always up for taking full control during holidays. She planned their best party yet, as their New Years Ball had been packed full with masqueraders who had no problem dropping money in their establishment. The restaurant really was staring to take shape with the help of Cassandra, and Lynn had been coming more and more to help with the paper work – although he suspected something was off with her.
He found, with his age, no matter how well established he was in that world… he still had to keep proving he could do things. After all, his father had messed things up so badly, and people just automatically assumed he would do the same.

He was looking over the order forms for more glasses and a new hose for the taps when the door suddenly burst open and disheveled Caz wobbled in, dropping everything on the floor before removing her coat, scarf and hat. He stood, his hands in the pockets of his dress pants as he stared at her with both surprise and amusement on his face.

“You’re not interrupting anything.” He told her with a laugh, coming around the desk. “And the way you burst in here tells me you have something interesting for me to hear.” He carefully took the coffee from her hands and set them on the coffee table before taking her coat, scarf and hat, bringing them over to the coat rack where his own were hanging. “Lynn will be here soon… She said she was coming in today, and she’s been rather punctual as of late.” It was beginning to worry him though.

ooc: Argh yes... small text. I'll look into fixing it haha

"Oh, I've got lots of goodies." Caz smiled and handed him one of the cups of coffee. "I didn't put anything in it because I didn't know how you like it." She shrugged, she would learn eventually. It was a knack of hers, probably came from memorizing hundreds of drink combinations, but she could remeber how everybody she knew took their coffee or tea. Cyprus' office didn't look much changed since that last time she was in here before the holiday. Luckily, she was the master of creating space and after setting down the remaining coffees she pulled open the floor plans and renderings.

"I made friends," Caz couldn't help but grin at the memories from her New Year's acquaintance. "With a rather fresh-from-school architect who, between recreational activities, helped me fully render the designs and create some floor plans." She was very pround of herself, and when she boasted, she somtimes tended to give away too much information, like her relationships with people. Cyprus probably didn't really want to know, but he was going to find out anway. "He was most helpful."

She pulled out her favorite first becaue this was the one she really wanted to push. For some reason she really enjoyed the 1920's lounge idea, because it seemed not only appropriate to her, but it fit the classic nature that both Cyprus and Lynn emminated. Plus she thought the London scene could use a little old American flair. The fully-rendered room displayed the dark colors she had gone for, the rich purple with the black and silver accents. She had wanted to give it a little modern twist with the stainless steel and Oliver had really listened to what she had wanted. Of course she had tinkered with his floor plans just a little, but she had more experience with restaurants than he did. Of course he had studied them and he took her to some very nice ones in the city, but her eye for dining out was not only for the food, but for the atmosphere.

"This one came out especially well," She began, grinning. She ran her fingers a along the sketch pointing out things as she spoke. "The low lighting and hanging lamps create a fabluous mood and the varied sizes in tables accommodates a variety of guests. I was thinking fancy American quisine, since I hate to say it, but the food here is not my taste." She didn't meant to be brash, but she was just up front about her preferences. Sometimes it made her seem rude, but rarely did that matter to her. The design was gorgeous, the woods, the bar, the dance floor. "The dance floor can accommodate tables and on some nights we can offer dancing or entertainment. " She envisioned holding holiday parties or saturday night concerts with a jazz band.

"They all came out nice, but that one's my favorite." Caz admitted, grabbing her unnaturally sweet coffee and taking a sip. However, in interest of fairness, since it would be Cy's restaurant, she rolled that one back up and opened the next ones. "He did a wonderful job with all of them, though I tweaked the floor plans just a smidge." It just was small details that had been adjusted. "What do you think." She gave him time to look them all over the by wandering his office with her coffee. "Been spending some time here lately?" She joked, knowing full-well he had.

"That's fine." He told her, about the coffee. He usually put a ton of cream in his coffee, but black was fine with him too. It woke him up more most certainly, and there was nothing wrong with that. The taste... well... the taste was horrid though. He winced as he took a sip before setting it aside to look at the designs she was handing him, a look of amusement and absolute amazement on his face as usual when he spoke to her. He was lost instantly, as he was trying to pay attention to her words and the designs in front of him -- which looked gorgeous and more professional than he'd expected -- catching key words here and there which he nodded enthusiastically to.

Hiring her was certainly one of the smartest things he'd done in a while.

He liked the first idea, and ran an appreciative eye over the details as she pointed them out before moving on to look at the other ones in a bit of a daze, shifting through them as she stood, leaving him room to contemplate all the choices.

"What do you think."

He looked up at her, shook his head in amazement. "It's all fantastic."

"Been spending some time here lately?"

"Hm? Oh... yes... a little." He smiled sheepishly, turning to look at the mess at his desk. "I find keeping myself busy prevents any trouble." He looked back down at the designs, "I've hired a building company to get on the restaurant. These plans mean we can finally get started."

"I think they're brilliant." All the amazement he felt was there in his tone and he chuckled a bit due to being completely overwhelmed. "The first one, I will have to agree with you." He pulled it out of the pile, unrolling it carefully and looking over it again. It definitely had promise to it, and he was sure Lynn would adore it as well. "I do like this one best. I can see it clearly in my mind anyways, and I always have a bit of a hard time with stuff like that."

He turned his attention on her with a grin. "I take it you enjoyed your holidays then?"

"Can't say it was all that bad." Caz gave him a smug smile and a wink over her coffee cup. She couldn't help the grin. Secretly she was elated that he agreed wth her choice of designs. "I went home to spend some time with the family and then celebrated all over again in New York. I love New Years there, it's always so exciting. Though damn cold this year." It didn't help she had been dressed in a cocktail dress, though her wool trenchcoat had provided enough warmth to be comfortable. She was always at ease in heels, even the warm boots she sported currently had a heel to them.

"I'm glad you like them. He's immensely talented." In more ways than one. Cassie laughed to herself. "I weedled him most on that one. I wanted it to be perfect." And it had come out better than she expected. He was someone she planned to keep in contact with. It probably wouldn't go anywhere, they had both agreed to keep in non-commital. So was the story of her life. For the most part it was no bother, but sometimes it made her wonder if she could ever settle down. For now, she enjoyed it though, she was only twenty-three after all. "Do you think Lynn will enjoy them?" Cy had already had she said Lynn would, but Caz liked to hear things twice sometimes.

More relaxed now that her proposition had gone over well, Caz made room for herself on Cy's couch. "Staying out of trouble then?" Cassie had to wonder what he meant. From what she knew of him so far, Cyprus seemed more like a work-a-holic than anything else. She had a hard time imagining him getting into trouble, and her imagination was something she treasured. Then again, everybody had their pasts, she supposed. It wasn't her place to pry, though she wanted to know, she knew better than to be obnoxious. Well most of the time. Sometimes it was just downright fun. Caz sincerely hoped that he took her question in more the joking manner. "You don't seem like trouble to me." Another wink as she polished off her coffee. It was her second cup of the day already and she had no doubt there would be a third.

He smiled at her when she spoke about her New Years, but was mostly unable to keep his gaze from the drawings. He set them aside purposefully so he would be more able to concentrate on anything else, setting it down on the coffee table before him.

"Do you think Lynn will enjoy them?"

"I really do yeah." He turned his gaze on her again before reaching over to his coffee again. "She's been anxious to get all of this going now as well." Although it was his baby, she had thrown herself into the preperation a surprising amount. He honestly wasn't sure what to think about her constant presence there. He'd asked her a few days earlier whether or not she was getting any designing done. She'd told him she had, and had shown him pictures from her flip book... leaving him wondering when she had time to do them. Did she even sleep anymore? She always seemed to be highly frustrated too. Almost like she was constantly thinking of something else.

Trouble. He didn't seem like trouble.

He laughed at her comment and the wink and shook his head slightly. "I'm not much trouble myself... I just seem to find myself in tricky situations." Usually with girls. Either lovers or his cousins.

New Years had kept her busy working. Getting the club prepared for its big masquerade ball, organizing the bands, and the drink specials and the floor to ceiling decorations -- the mass amount of balloons and confetti and sparkles to fall from the ceiling at midnight had been quite a mass undertaking despite being rather too conventional.

They were into a new year, but her problem only seemed to worsen, and she found herself wanting to spend time with her brother and wife and their new baby girl somedays... and completely avoiding going over there for weeks on end the next. She adored little Claire, who's hair was already starting to darker and who was unusually quiet for a baby -- she didn't seem to cry for attention... maybe because she got enough already.
Likewise, when she was ignoring the baby... she ignored Shaymon. The last time she'd spoken to him it had been a week since she'd done so, and when she'd said hello he'd given her the strangest look she'd ever seen on his face before asking her promptly if she was having mood swings. She'd instantly gotten irritated and in retaliation, did not speak to him for another couple of days.
She didn't know what the comment meant until Riu pointed out to her that she'd been behaving "erratically" since Elsie's wedding and everyone was a bit worried.

The mornings... for a while, she thought she must have a stomach flu, and a sudden allergy to Ceaser salad and pickles, and a new found love for greasy foods. No, it was getting steadily more and more difficult to ignore, and she had almost been caught the other day at tea with Ginette.

It was nothing. It was nothing. She'd told herself this for months now. She was late a lot in her youth. She'd skipped months before. It was due to stress. She was just stressed out was all.

She blew into work, wanting to keep herself busy. She'd been up since 5 that morning. She'd headed into her studio in the morning before everything was open and pinned together a new dress she was working on. Afterwards she'd gotten a quick bite to eat and headed down to Promise. It was damp and cold out, so she pulled her coat and scarf tightly around her. She was munching on to the cream filled pastry she'd boughten at the bakery across the street from her studio when she entered the club, heading up to the office.

When she entered she let out a sigh of relief, and opened her mouth to speak before realizing that Caz was there -- evidently back from her holiday -- and Cy was sitting, pouring over what looked like designs.

"Oh, what's this?" She finished off her pastry, slipped awkwardly out of her coat and scarf, hanging them next to the other two before coming over to have a look at the drawings. "Did you do these Caz?"

"Caz made friends with an architect."

"Well, that's handy." She turned to grin at Cassandra. She'd been rather impressed with the girl, if not for her talent but her energy. She seemed to have a never ending source.

"We both agree this one is best."

Lynn bent down to look at the design he was showing her. She didn't need to for long however, as she liked it... besides, it was Cy's opinion that mattered on this anyway. "Fantastic."

"And she brought Coffee."

He handed her a cup and she reached out to take it automatically before rethinking it with a large degree of hesitation. "Oh no... I don't drink coffee anymore." She smiled at Caz. "Thanks anyway."
Silly. Stupid. They might catch on now! Part of her doubted that, but she was finding herself more and more paranoid lately.

"Brilliant." Caz had figured she'd schmoozed Cy easily enough, if a bit unintentionallt. She always had an easy time with guys, it just came naturally. Girls on the other hand, were a completely different story. Sometime she knew she rubbed them the wrong way, sometimes they got a long great and sometimes there was a little bit of both and some sneaky backstabbing business. Caz had gotten into quite a few fistfights when she was younger, mostly for attention from her parents, but as she grew she developed more underhanded techniques to getting her point across. Luckily she was growing out of all of that.

"Oh good, there can really only be one troublemaker between colleagues." Caz laughed. "I honestly think it comes with the hair color." Pulling at a curl from her ponytail, Caz tugged hard to emphasize her point, just as Lynn blew into the office. "Speaking of trouble." She grinned at her other boss, glad she had made it.

"Thanks to your dress." Cassie smiled as Cy answered for her, but shook her head at Lynn's quiery as to whether or not she'd done the sketches. "I wish I was that talented. I only have the gift for water colors. My nanny always said it goes well with my scatterbrained personality as it runs everywhere." With a shrug of her shoulders Caz didn't have to say that she agreed with it one hundred percent; she knew it was true.

As Lynn refused her coffee, Caz had to rewind her mind. Yes, she had seen Lynn drinking coffee before. It had been a while, but she was sure the girl had at least one cup a day. Huh, maybe she was changing her habits. It was a good idea, but highly unlikely for Cassie. "Well, more for me." She grinned and stretched to reach that last cup of caffine. "I can't get by without at least three cups a day. Merlin help me when I eventually decide to have kids. And heaven help the poor bastard who put me in that position. No caffine, no booze. I'll be a pregnant monster." She laughed again raising her free hand in a clawing motion and bearing her teeth.

"Nevermind my craziness, when do we think we can get start? I don't know the financing side of course, none of my business, but I told Oliver that I'd give him a call if we liked one of his designs..." She trailed off hoping they would catch her drift. Of course it was entirely up to them if they wanted to hire him for the job. If not, she'd play the part to the best of her imaginative ability. If so, she could certainly enjoy a little more time with him. He had certainly made her work for it when she asked for the sketches. That thought made her laugh and if she were capable of embarassment, she'd blush just a little at the memories.

Lynn slowly handed over her coffee to the other girl, feeling a bit of regret and irritation seeing it go. It smelt absolutely wonderful, and her craving was certainly still there enough to try and tell her to snatch it back from Caz and suck it back. But she withheld herself, letting it slip from her fingers as Caz took it.

"I can't get by without at least three cups a day. Merlin help me when I eventually decide to have kids. And heaven help the poor bastard who put me in that position. No caffine, no booze. I'll be a pregnant monster."

She laughed, though it was a different sound she normally made, and removed her hand quickly from her stomach, noticing it had drifted there without her thinking about it. Cy seemed to not notice a thing, as busy as he was pouring over the drawings.
So she decided to lie to hopefully save the situation. "I've switched to drinking strictly tea. The amount of sugar I like in my coffee makes me have sugar crashes too early in the day, which doesn't do me a lot of good."

She came around the small table and headed to the desk, looking for the piece of paper she'd been scribbling ideas down on the day before -- both for the club and for clothing. She'd been in a rush to leave the other night for Celine had shown up and she wasn't particularily fond of her.

"...I don't know the financing side of course, none of my business, but I told Oliver that I'd give him a call if we liked one of his designs..."

She spoke with her back to them, still rummaging around for her papers. "Of course we'll hire him." She turned to look back at them, hoping she'd read the tone in Caz's voice right. "We still need to hire an architect to work on it, as it's a place of gathering."

She smiled to herself as she finally found the scrap of paper, completely covered in scribbles and designs. She was glad she'd found it, as she was bad at remembering certain details after she'd already thought of them. Especially lately...

She turned back around in time to see Cy's expression twisted into the one she recognized as his money face. The way his lips were set and his eyes spacing out a bit as he thought of the costs of something.
She knew he was thinking about how much all of this would cost and didn't like it.

"I'll pay for any excess. Your friend's wages, and any extra material."

Cy looked up suddenly, a look of surprise on his face. "What?"

"I know we talked about this being your project, but I'm pretty much involved as it is... and it's not as if I don't have money to blow around."
Riu would be upset with her, but she couldn't think of anything else she wanted to spend her money on. He kept saying she should just invest it, but she honestly didn't trust that, and she didn't want it sitting in a vault in Gringott's either... far too boring. Plus with her business, the money kept growing anyway.

She waved her hand and piece of sketch paper in an absentminded way in front of her. "It's an investment. Riu's been pestering me to do some investing anyway. This will get him off my back."
Cyprus looked a bit upset with himself though, and she knew he was feeling guilty, but really, she knew he couldn't afford it. He was trying to keep his whole family afloat, and his cousins through school. Most of the Kyst family had pretty bad spending habits as well... he had to deal with that too.

She moved towards Caz. "Will you be contacting this person or should I? Does he need a flight here?" Meaning could he floo or apparate, or is he muggle.

"Oh grand! He's brilliant, I know you'll like him." Caz was as excited as a kindergartener on Christmas morning. She liked Oliver more than she cared to admit and she definitely wouldn't mind seeing him again. "Oh no, I'll send him an owl, he just finished his masters in December, so therefore he should be available to apparate right over, er whenever you need him." Maybe she would call him as soon as possible so they could get reacquainted Thank goodness he was a wizard, thing would have been a little crazy trying to keep everything on the down low. More like a royal pain in the ass. Not that they couldn't have made it work, it was just so much easier.

Staying silent as Cy and Lynn had a half silent, half spoken argument about the financing side, she almost wished she hadn't brought it up; she hadn't wanted to cause any tension. Tension was never good for co-workers, it always meant trouble. She sipped the stolen coffee lightly, mulling over Lynn's change in caffine habits. She wish she could make the switch, she only had a little bit of cream in her tea. Such a better alternative. "Oh he's fresh, I'm sure whatever kind of wage you send his way will be enough." Caz encouraged, seeing the look on Cy's face.

"I could pester my Dad, he's always looking for things to invest in." She hadn't wanted to really get into it, but seeing as that her father would probably be impressed that she had actually decided to participate in something grounded, not flitting around a stage playing. "A restaurant would be new to him." She was pretty sure anyway. Making a mental note to send out two owls that afternoon. Caz honestly hoped she wasn't overstepping any boundaries. Her parents had money to spare, she had to admit she was pretty comfortably set. It was her love of people and being busy that had led her to school, bartending and whatever else had come her way.

OOC- sry so short, had a long day!

He'd been starting to worry about the money situation when he'd looked at the drawings more carefully and noticed all the things they would need, and the high costs of it. It would be a very expensive undertaking.
He must have been pulling some kind of face because Lynn suddenly pipped up about finances. He turned his gaze sharply on her, his mouth falling open slightly, ready to protest but only managing a question.

He didn't want her paying for anything. He already felt like he was constantly putting some kind of burden on her. She had her own business to run after all.

He let out a deep breath when she gave him a look he knew to show she wouldn't just give up on the manner, and he turned his gaze -- with some embarrassment -- on Caz who added her own opinion which made things worse.

"Oh no, I couldn't ask your father to invest." He carefully set the drawing down on the coffee table after some hesitation, looking back to Cassandra to give her a small smile. "I already owe Lynn a hundred years of praise, I don't think throwing someone else in the mix will be very healthy for me." Though it would be a great thing for the business if her father did invest... but it always seemed he needed someone to bail him out.
"But ask your architect to come, we'll be glad to have him, judging by his work here." He gestured to the drawings. "And it will be easier since he's a wizard. I already have to walk on eggshells around the contractors." It would be so much easier if they could perform magic... in fact, he was sure things might be done already if he had all magic folk working for him. Alas, building was not a profession many wizards and witches went into now-a-days.

He rolled up the sleeves of his shirt before moving towards the door. "I need to talk to the bouncers about tonight. Lynn could you get Cassandra's opinion on the stage set up for the concert this weekend?" He stepped through the office and closed the door behind him, wondering if this whole project would simply kill him by the end.

Whoops, there she had gone again and stuck her foot in her mouth. Caz mentally smacked herself for being to forward yet again. It was just the way she was, she said what was on her mind, usually before she caught up with herself to filter what she was going to say. Most of the time it was harmless, but it had gotten her in some sticky situations in the past. "I'll just check with him. Like I said, he likes to invest in new projects and my mum is a caterer, so she'd probably be interested too." There, she hoped she hadn't stepped on too many toes. She wasn't sorry for what she had offered, but sometimes her timing just sucked. Alienating coworkers was never a good idea, especially when they had been so nice.

"I'm sure I can put him up in my appartment." She grinned slyly. "I have a spare bedroom, so we don't have to worry about accommodations for him." It most certainly would be nice to see him again, she just hoped that working together wouldn't be a problem. There had been times in the past when she had gotten involved with coworkers and it always turned out messy. If things turned out rotten, well at least he'd be gone after the project was done.

Caz turned as Cy excused himself and she gave a little wave before he left the office. "Did I step on some toes?" She questioned, not feeling quilty, but just for future reference. "I always was a loudmouth." Laughing at herself, she took a swig from the coffee. She didn't usually drink it black, so it caught her off guard when she sipped. She pulled a face, but said nothing there was no need to rub it in that Lynn had chosen to switch to tea. Standing as she remebered what Cy had wanted her to take a look at, she wondered why. At Promise she was simply a bartender waiting for her upgrade to bar manager when the new restaurant opened. It was certainly a fun job, the clientelle was great and she was definitely not having an problems making rent on the flat she had just leased.

"I don't know how much help I'll be, but I can take a look at whatever you want." Her degree was in acting, so she usually knew how to set up a stage, but it also depended on what was being performed and how much setup was required. Well no matter, with a little trial and error anything could be figured out. "So how is everything going with you these days?" Caz found she knew little about Lynn as she hadn't seen her boss very much lately. Poor Cy had to deal with her more often so she knew more about him. She was also just naturally a nosy person, she liked to know a lot about those around her, she'd always been that way.

“Sure.” She felt a bit put off that Cyprus seemed to want Caz’s opinion on the set up for the band, and thought for a moment that he thought she couldn’t handle it. She turned away to pull out the set floor plan from the desk, tucking her hair behind her ear before telling herself that she was just being hormonal… telling herself not to take offense. She wouldn’t care so much otherwise, would she?

"Did I step on some toes? I always was a loudmouth."

She turned back around with a smile, holding the floor plan between her hands, holding them towards Caz for her to take and have a look at. “Don’t worry about it. He’s just got a lot of people watching him… I think he wants to make a good impression, so he likes to try and handle things on his own as best he can.”

She stepped around the office so Caz could look at the set design. The low stage so the fans could get closer to the band. The low lighting the band had requested, and the tables set up in an arch, leaving room for the dance floor. Everything had been arranged along with the band’s requests, which she’d jotted down in a few notes at the bottom of the page quickly while on the phone with them the week before. They hadn’t given her as much notice as she would have liked, as they were unsure they were coming over to London from Spain. Ultimately, they’d decided on their venue. They weren’t an internationally popular band, but the response to them coming had been a positive one, and they’d sold out just the other day. The tickets weren’t expensive, but it would be the drinks they’d be making their money on anyway.

"So how is everything going with you these days?"

“Oh, busy busy.” She shrugged, feeling a bit awkward, considering all things…
She didn’t know this girl very well. They talked when she came in to work, but never about anything overly personal (on Lynn’s side anyway) and Cy spent most of his time with her going over things for the restaurant. “But it sounds like you had a good time in America.” She grinned. “How’s the fashion scene there? I’ve been meaning to go....” But she really had no desire. She wasn’t fond of America, even though she’d gone to school there. Most of her friends were here anyway. Though she could visit Ev, she hadn’t seen her in a while. She wondered how her baby was doing.
No no, she wouldn’t get on that line of thought.

Hmmm, Lynn's explaination made Cassie wonder why Cy would be under such constant scrutiny. Again, something that really wasn't any of her business; she was just naturally curious. Taking the plans for the stage, Caz checked them breifly, assuming everything was in the right place. The lighting looked good, must have been what the band had requested. "Everything looks good, it's not really my area of expertise. I'm used to setting up the stage for a play." She felt a little out of place and sensed a little bit of resentment from Lynn. Of course that wasn't her intention. Again, that was always how it worked with girls, it rarely worked out positively. She did have girl friends, just not a whole lot of them. It was mostly girls from school, like her roommates who know how she worked and she knew how they worked.

"Yeah sounds about right." Caz returned when Lynn answered her question. She noted the hint of reluctance that came with Lynn's reply and she decided to back off and simply answer the question she was asked. "I love it over there. Fashion week is amazing." Caz replied, handing the setup for the band back to her boss.

"Everything is always so exciting, it's tough to get an invite though most of the time. I've gotten to go only because my roommate from NYU, her mother is a designer. We got to hang out backstage and try and stay out of the way." Modeling had always been in the back of her mind, but she was told she was too goofy, her personality was a bit too strong for something like that. Not that she minded, between acting and now interior designing and bartending, she was pretty content with things for now. "I can't imagine it's much different than Paris or Milan." Of course she had never been to those, she was more of a consumer than a fashion follower. Though she was a big fan of Lynn's work. "Have you done many shows?" She was curious, obviously Lynn did well for herself, but Caz wasn't sure just how big of a designer she was.

Ah fashion week. She'd made it over there last season, and wanted to do it every year, but she just got so busy that sometimes it made a trip to New York a little bit hard to pull off, what with the club and her own fashion line. It cost a ton of money to get a good seat as well, and the best seats were always reserved for celebrities anyway.

"Everything is always so exciting, it's tough to get an invite though most of the time. I've gotten to go only because my roommate from NYU, her mother is a designer. We got to hang out backstage and try and stay out of the way."

She smiled genuinely. "Lucky."

"I can't imagine it's much different than Paris or Milan. Have you done many shows?"

She sighed in an exaggerated manner before sinking into the couch, resting her head back as a sudden headache ravaged through her head. This had been happening for a while now, but they never seemed to last long. She had been close to going and getting her head scanned, but then she was hit with the realization it probably went along with the symptoms of...

"I've done a few here in London. Small ones. I've done a few with Kathleen's mother." She wondered if Caz knew who Kathleen was. She'd been around here a lot with Cy, so Cyprus probably introduced them. "She's a wedding gown designer. Fantastic. Bernadette, Cy's older cousin models for her." She shrugged. "My biggest clients are in the wizarding community. I've known a lot of them since I was younger... and they love to show off whatever they're wearing, which only has been an advantage for me." She smiled playfully. "And I go to enough stuffy parties myself that I get a lot of opportunities to self promote shamelessly."
Weddings. Balls. Little tea party gatherings thrown at Godwin Manor, or with the Kyst girls, or at her own home. She always wore her own designs -- things she made for herself on her free time -- so that when someone commented on it she could say simply, "why thank you! Just something I threw together between commissions" and they would say "oh really! Could I get your business card?"
Or...that was how it would go ideally.

"You could do modeling. Have you ever tried?" Not high fashion... she wasn't bone skinny and wasn't as tall as most models, but she would be good for magazines or advertising.
