Bloodlust is run by three experienced individuals who have been running this RPG for years while maintaining a laid back atmosphere without over bearing regulations on word counts or posts per week. Our target demographic is 18+ to allow a freedom of expression without concern for underage readers. The world is a dark place by any normal standard but what the majority of the population doesn’t understand is that the depth of darkness goes deeper than anyone of them could imagine. In this world Vampires exists, they don’t sparkle and your average looking bartender be harbouring a wolf within them and it certainly doesn’t resemble an over sized mutt.

General Rules

Basics
+ Humans in Renfrew are just like the one's you run into every day; mostly boring, unpredictable and unique.
+ All the same, just like in real life, the past, education or occupation of someone you meet at random may surprise you.
+ True to form, humans see, and comprehend, what they choose to. As such, a vast majority of the city population is ignorant to the dark underbelly of Renfrew, with a few enclaves of those who see just a bit further under the surface
+ Still, despite the level of knowledge, everyone innately seems to understand that staying out after dark is a risk you have to weigh. Though no one could truly tell you why.

Restrictions/Suggestions
+ There are as many kinds of humans in Renfrew as can be and we're always happy for more!
+ Try to keep the experience and skill set appropriate/reasonable for the age of the character.
+ Humans are the best way to 'learn' through the game, stumbling across things as they happen.
+ We are pulling from a lot of different sources, so feel free to do the same, though we are trying to keep all magical elements 'subdued' in general.

Advantages

+ Ignorance, oddly enough. Sometimes, ignorance really is bliss and the less they know the less trouble they find themselves in.
+ Human beings' resourcefulness and wit will always be what saves them when lacking superior firepower.
+ Adaptability will also be key in surviving unsavory discoveries about the town.
+ Knowledge, as a counter to ignorance above, those that learn more about what it is they don't understand stand a better chance at surviving encounters with the less than human citizens of Renfew.
+ Unique skills specific to occupation or training (hunters, witches, bounty hunters etc) will give a distinct advantage.

Limitations

+ First and foremost, mortality. Even the most cautious will fall to time in the end.
+ Again, ignorance. While it may be blissful, what you don't know can very much hurt you in this town.
+ Overconfidence that comes with experience in the occult or supernatural will often times put hunters and the humans they protect in rather tight spots.
+ Are the weakest class of species in the game in terms of strength and speed.

Categories

+ Hunters: These humans have devoted significant chunks of their lives (in some cases the entirety of it) to studying the supernatural and how to kill them. They are by far the most prepared to handle what may come their way in this town, and will often be the one's trying to keep their ignorant fellow citizens from infection or death.
+ Witches and Wizards: The magical community exists but is happily unknown. There are many who have been educated in varying types of magic and may or may not be practicing. If they do still practice, they will be as subtle and unobtrusive as possible due to the magical community's strict policies as well as knowing full well how people react to things they can't explain. Keep in mind, many of the supernatural beings in town may also have similar education or knowledge, so while this class of human will be much more successful at keeping themselves alive should they encounter danger, they may find themselves facing down a wand very similar to their own, wielded by someone just as practiced as they.
+ Specialists: Just like any city, there are trained specialists of every kind that keep the city running. From police to doctors, school teachers to the local therapist (read bartender), they all have their strengths and weaknesses to add to that of typical human citizen. Some see far, far more than others.
