Well I have been trying out the new Borland C++ 4.5 for the past day and Jesus Christ! haha It is definitely an older version than Borland C++ 5.5. Unfortunately you do get what you pay for haha. $50 is only for the software and if you wanted the whole book set it would cost you an arm and a leg like the saying. I am on welfare and on top of $150 for the complete book set they are selling thousands of dollars worth of trial softwares? So it is about the money. I thought I would be getting the same bookset that I bought over 20 years ago. However these days they deceive you. You advertise it for $50 but neglect to tell you that you have to purchase the books separately. Had I known I would have kept searching until I found the whole set. Anyways I am a little upset because in addition to that the online books does not work. Well if you ever have the free software Borland C++ 5.5 just buy the book from Charles Petzold: Windows Programming and you are all set for the basics. It teaches you all the basics. It does not cover all the library functions etc because that is another set of Borland commands out of the scope and unnecessary to programming what you want. The thing is just make sure you stick to the basics and you can make anything if not almost anything.

Jesus Christ! Most of my programming arrived because of the inspiration of Jesus Christ and my family# The programming language just teaches you the basics of the commands. You have to think of the coding yourself. I did not look at any except maybe a ten commands online. Charles Petzold taught me the rest of the other commands. He spent his life learning everything he could about the Windows programming. You can tell some parts were iffy. However the basics he taught in his book for $20 or so you can't beat. Thank you instead of having to keep purchasing new stuffs all the time for the basics that work LORD#
