BB is a 73-year-old male with Type 2 diabetes brought into the ED from the general medical ward, where he had previously been admitted for pneumonia, after several bouts of vomiting. A nurse reports that his breathing had become deeper and much more rapid over the past hour. You quickly run some tests on him and note the following:
