I was encouraged to make this forum because of playing COD Zombies constantly and another roleplay forum, Dead Rising RPF. These rules were based on the rules of DRRPF.

No God Modding

- This is when someone's character has the ability to do anything with no limits or boundaries. An example of this would be that they can't be harmed by anyone else.

- Killing or injuring a character without the player's permission is not okay.

- They can't be hit and dodge all attacks aimed at them

Do not do these.

No Power Playing

- This is to make another character very out of character (something they're not), just to make your own character seem superior. They make others seem weak, screaming for help, when they've made it clear about their advantages and strengths. This is a bad one. Please don't do it. Don't make someone else's character seem pathetic so that you can emphasize your advantages. This is especially apparent when interacting with canon characters. You know their strengths and weaknesses. Dont make them seem weak in a position they would actually be strong in

- This also refers to taking control of another person's character without their permission. For example if you do not RP as Chuck then you cannot have Chuck say or do anything without the player's permission. You may make suggestions or hints that you want them to do something but do not take that role for them. The choice has to be theirs. If you want something specific to happen or be said then ask the person first dont speak for them. You cannot take control over the fate of another person's character, for example you cant say 'I hit Frank in the face with a lead pipe, breaking his jaw' as that is too controlling telling them what happens to them. The choice of what happens has to be down to them. Instead you should say something like 'I swing the lead pipe at Frank's face' This gives the person a choice if they get hit or not you cant dictate that to them. Again if you want something specific to happen then ask the person's permission first to do so

No Auto-hitting

- This refers to hitting another character without their permission. Like the above example when you attack you cant dictate the outcome of it. Instead of "I punched you and broke your jaw", you should say, "I swung a punch at your jaw". This is to give a fair choice to the recipient. Fight fair please

Keep the RP on track

- Each RP will in the majority of cases have a purpose and a set route that its ment to run, for example if Frank and Kent are set out for a photo shoot, dont do something that would change the outcome of this by for example destroying their cameras. The purpose of the RP has to remain valid throughout, dont do anything that can take it away. If you want to do something else with it then you can always start a new RP thread

Ask permission for relations between characters

- If you want your character (canon or OC) to be in relations with another character, whether its marriage, relationship or blood related etc. you must have the person's permission with whom you want this relation. OC's are flexible so if the person says no then you can adjust your character to suit this. Permission must be obtained before you decide you want a relation with a canon character as this affects everyone else as well. This is a must if said character is already taken by another person here. If the character is however not currently taken then the relation may be allowed to run on a trial basis, whether it is allowed to continue or not will depend on how you deal with it. If it works fine then you may continue with it until that character becomes taken by another member in which case you then must obtain their permission to continue with the relation. If they say no then respect that and alter your character accordingly. Do not ignore their wishes and continue on with it when they dont want it, this will not be tolerated. Its only fair. Its not fair to have someone forced into a relationship that they dont want to be in

- Also changing canon information must have permission and make sense. Existing relations must also remain, for example Katey is my daughter so must remain so, do not change it or take it away. If you want to do anything at least ask the affected character's permission first

Ask for permission before joining an RP

- While it is typically ok to join in any RP you like, more ongoing established ones may not want someone new suddenly jumping into it and affecting the outcome of it. In this case just ask permission first before jumping in, its only fair. You can ask in the 'RP Discussion' forum as well as talk about anything else related to any of the RPs. Some people may not want others suddenly joining in an RP they are doing so please respect that and just ask first. A newly made RP however is likely to be more open, if it is suitable for your character to step in then go ahead

No Metagaming

- This is the act of using outside or previously gained knowledge within a gaming universe for personal gain or advantage. It means you basically have knowledge you shouldn't have. For example, you know someone's weakness when in reality, you shouldn't know that

RP Gradually

- Dont just jump into an rp like '*Poof* I'm here!! :D*' It has to make sense. Gradually join into the RP and build up to events. Dont just join then suddenly run into a fight it doesnt make sense. Come in gradually and build up to it. Unless we all automatically start off in the same area dont do it

Be Realistic

- This also falls under make sense but think carefully about how things respond to what you're doing. For example if something acts a certain way in the game then have it the same here, dont make it unrealistic by producing effects it couldnt do. An example of this would be if you're using a weapon such as a firearm, guns do not have unlimited ammo you cant stand and shoot forever at someone, you have to run out eventually. Think how things work in real life too, if you're in an explosion you're unlikely to have any items you were carrying still intact

STICK TO THE GAME

- We all know how COD Zombies works. Don't go into Dead Rising or Left 4 Dead, keep it in COD Zombies.

- Canon information should not be altered unless it is within the Out of Character forum as there is effectively no boundaries to what you can do in that forum, I made it for fun to do whatever you want to do that wouldnt fit into the In Character forum
