CZW's Pinnacle of Perfection
|
he scene begins inside a locker room backstage at Overdrive, with the camera focused on the door. The door opens, and in walks Rob Wright. Rob is dressed in the same attire that he wore to the ring moments ago, with the CZW TV Title drapped over his shoulder. Following behind Rob is his new manager, JoJo McKenzie, who is still blowing the whistle around his neck. They walk over to a couch along the wall and take a seat. Rob on one end and JoJo on the other. Rob sets the TV title down in the middle of the two of them. Rob Wright: Did you hear the reaction from those fans, JoJo? JoJo McKenzie: I sure did, Real Deal. They were on their feet going crazy for Mr. TV. Rob Wright: That’s right. We both know that they love me, Mr. C-Z-W. (As Rob says CZW, he takes his both his arms and raises them over his head. He then points to himself with each individual letter.) That’s because they know a real champion when they see one. In my eyes…I did them a favor by cashing in and taking MY title from Mike Monroe. Now they have a champion they can respect. A champion that’s not afraid to defend his title. A champion… Just then Rob is interrupted by a knock on the door. JoJo gets up and walks over to the door. He opens the door, and standing there is CZW staff member Ryan Lewis. Lewis is dressed in a gray business suit with a black tie. In the background you can hear Rob’s voice. Rob Wright: Who is it, JoJo? JoJo looks back from the door. JoJo McKenzie: Some goofy looking guy in a suit. I’ll get rid of him. JoJo turns his attention to Lewis. JoJo McKenzie: I think you got the wrong locker room, daddy. Alonso Fyne’s locker room is down that way. (JoJo points down the hall.) He’s gonna be pissed you forgot the flowers and candy. Ryan Lewis: I’m not looking for Alonso Fyne’s locker room. I’m here because I wanted to get Rob’s reaction on the news just announced by Overdrive’s new General Manager, Theresa Baines. JoJo McKenzie: What news? Ryan Lewis: Let’s just say Rob got his wish. JoJo moves to the side and Ryan Lewis walks over to where Rob is sitting. He takes a seat in a chair that matches the couch. Rob Wright: Oh…it’s you. JoJo then walks up and takes a seat on the opposite end of the couch. He hands Rob a little wooden box. Rob opens the box and pulls out a hand blown glass bowl. He sets the bowl on the table and reaches in his pocket. He pulls out a bag of weed from his pocket and sets that down next to the bowl. He slides the items over to JoJo, and turns his attention to Ryan Lewis. Rob Wright: Have you two met? Ryan Lewis: No… I don’t think we have. Rob Wright: I wasn’t talking to you, Lewis. I was talking to him. JoJo looks up from his duties. JoJo McKenzie: Nope. Never met him, champ. Rob Wright: Well then, let me introduce you. JoJo McKenzie this is CZW’s resident brown-noser, Ryan Lewis. Brown-noser allow me to introduce to you to the number one manager in the world today, Jonathan Joseph McKenzie. Ryan gets up to shake JoJo’s hand, but JoJo just resumes his weed breaking. Ryan sits back down. JoJo leans over and whispers something to Rob. Rob Wright: Truthfully…there is a rumor going around that he is Fyne’s secret lover. But nobody has been able to prove it. Ryan Lewis: I am not his lover. Both Rob and JoJo look at each other and nod in agreement. Rob Wright: That’s exactly what his secret lover would say. Hence the secret part. I thought you were smarter than that, Ryan. Anyway…I assume that you’re here for a reason. Ryan Lewis: Yes. I wanted to get your reaction to the news delivered moments ago by Theresa Baines. Rob Wright: Who? (JoJo again whispers something in Rob’s ear.) Oh. You mean Overdrive’s fine new General Manager. Damn is she sexy. The things I would do to her. JoJo McKenzie: You and me both, daddy. Ryan Lewis: I would definitely like to get her in the sack. Rob and JoJo look at each other and start laughing hysterically. The camera shifts to Ryan Lewis, who has a look of anger growing on his face. The laughter dies down as the camera stays focused on Ryan Lewis. Ryan Lewis: I’m serious. Rob Wright: Ryan…the only serious thing about you is your love for Alonso Fyne. Ryan Lewis: Can we get back to business. General Manger Baines said that someone has stepped up and accepted your open challenge, and at Hatewave you will be facing…”The Aerial Specialist” Krimzon Blaze with the CZW TV Title on the line. Rob Wright: Huh…Krimzon Blaze. Really? Ryan Lewis: Yup. Krimzon Blaze. Rob Wright: Ok…that’s cool. This is exactly why I issued the open challenge. Which by the way was an excellent idea from JoJo. He knows that Mr. C-Z-W (Again Rob takes his arms and points to himself with each individual letter.) wants to be considered one of, if not the greatest champion ever. Just then there is a knock on the door. JoJo answers the door and a man is standing there. The man hands JoJo a folded piece of paper and walks away. Rob Wright: What’s it say? JoJo opens the piece of paper and begins to read from it. JoJo McKenzie: “From the desk of Overdrive General Manger Theresa Baines. Hello Mr. Wright. Let me be one of the first to congratulate you on your title win at Summer Showdown. As you may have heard…someone has stepped up and accepted your open challenge, and at Hatewave you will be defending you title against Krimzon Blaze. But I want to see if you are true to your word, Mr. Wright. So, next week on Overdrive…you will be making your first title defense against Frank Finch.” That’s it. JoJo takes the paper and crushes it in his hand. Rob reaches over and picks up the bowl. He pulls a lighter from his pocket and takes a hit from the bowl. As he passes the bowl to JoJo, he blows a cloud of smoke in the direction of Ryan Lewis. Ryan Lewis. How mature. Any words about your upcoming title defense against Frank Finch? Rob looks at JoJo, then back to Ryan Lewis. Rob Wright: Yeah. Two of them…get out. JoJo passes the bowl back to Rob as Ryan Lewis gets up from his seat. Rob sparks the bowl and takes another hit. He exhales the smoke and passes the bowl to JoJo.The scene fades as JoJo brings the bowl to his mouth. Scene Fades The scene opens to Rob Wright and JoJo McKenzie sitting in the back of a limo. Rob has on a pair of blue denim shorts and the new Rob Wright TV Champion t-shirt. His hair pulled back in a ponytail, and he has a pair of sunglasses covering his eyes. JoJo is wearing a pair of black pants and the new CZW Hatewave short sleeve shirt. On his head is the matching baseball hat, and around his neck is his beloved whistle. The CZW Television Title lays on the seat between the two men. Rob Wright: So…Baines wants to test Mr. C-Z-W. (Rob takes his arms and points to himself with each letter.) She wants to see if I really am a fighting champion. That’s cool. She’s gonna find out just like everybody else…Rob Wright will go down as the greatest champion in CZW history. Just like I said on Overdrive. Whether it be my opponent at Hatewave…Krimzon Blaze or any other member of the CZW roster. There isn’t a single wrestler in that locker room that can take this title from me. JoJo McKenzie: What about Frank Finch? Rob Wright: What about Frank Finch? JoJo McKenzie: I watched his promo. He seems determined to take that title from you. So much so that he was in the gym training for the match. Rob Wright: Yeah…yeah. I saw his promo too, and I gotta say. Frankie does look to be in incredible shape, but all the training won’t help him in this match. You see…because there are two types of people in this world. Those that have to train to get better, which would be the category Frank falls in. And then there are those that have natural born ability, which is the category that I fall in. Frank Finch could train in the gym his whole life, and he wouldn’t come close to the talent and ability that I have in my piggy toe. There’s a reason he has yet to win a match, and that reason is…he flat out sucks. And he wants to sit there and claim that this is “his” time. Rob reaches over and grabs a bottle of water. He unscrews the top and takes a sip. Rob Wright: You’re right, Frank. It is your time…your time to become my first victim as champion. Because you see my name isn’t Krimzon Blaze. There will be no one and done here. I will successfully defend my title until I am ready to give it up, and not a moment sooner. Rob turns and looks at JoJo. Rob Wright: Feel like packing a bowl, JoJo? JoJo nods his head and reaches into his pocket. He pulls out a plastic bag that contains a substance that closely resembles oregano. He reaches into his other pocket and pulls out the same glass bowl as before. He takes the substance and packs it into the bowl. He passes the bowl to Rob, and Rob takes a flame to it. He takes a hit from the bowl before turning his attention back to the camera. Rob Wright: You must have me mistaken for somebody else, Frank. I don’t take anything personal. Especially…anything that comes out of your mouth. Because you are not on the same level as me, and you never will be. You like to call yourself the Flawless One, right? Well…I am CZW’s Pinnacle of Perfection. Meaning there is nobody better than me, and you will learn that fact first hand when we meet in the ring. Rob takes another hit from the bowl and passes it back to JoJo. Then turns back to the camera. Rob Wright: What was it you said, Frank? My Cheech & Chong ass will probably forget what you say. You’re right. I did forget what you said. Although it’s not because of what I like to do with my spare time. It’s because what you say is insignificant. In my eyes….this result of this match has already been pre-determined. And I’ll tell you how it ends. It ends with Rob Wright standing over you with his hand raised in victory, and there’s nothing you can do about it. JoJo taps Rob on the shoulder, and Rob looks over in JoJo’s direction. JoJo passes Rob the bowl. Rob takes the bowl and puts it in his pocket. JoJo opens the limo door next to him and exits the limo. Rob soon follows as the scene fades to black.
