"This.....this exact reason, is why I've stopped trying all together. It's all the same old shit, every time."

Words stuck like daggers into the eardrum, pitch rose and fell like the graceful flight of the free bird, demonstarting it's technical ability within the open space known as the sky, perhaps showing off for those around it. The bass setting for the hundreds, thousands......maybe even millions of screens viewing this very moment pumped the brain with waves of sound, crashing onto the shore of our auditory senses. Feelings shifted from various, differing emotions to somber, melancholy, depressive by just coming into contact with the life draining voice of Ryan Shane, speaking to them behind the veil of a killed feed, now bursting to life with the rustling torment of static interference.

The white noised screamed like a tortured soul to the world of the living, being held aginst it's will by the force of another, stronger than it was. It could do nothing but scream and hope it's ear-shattering calls would be acknowledged, but as always, freedom was just a distant dream. Even it's howls were defeaned by the low voice of it's master, speaking out yet again.

"When I first arrived here, I predicted this very moment because it happens everywhere I go. It happens one of two ways. Either some meathead comes in, claiming that I have no skills, no strength, and that they'll squash me like a bug. They talk about how they've beaten others, even me, on their own with no other help, leaving out little bits of information that may speak other of their miniscule claims. Then we have the other. The completely unoriginal kid trying to gain sympathy for his side with outside drama and pleads for help, knowing that no one will ever aid them. They cry that they're better, but in the end, they fall. They try to compare themselves to champions, putting themselves on levels they do not deserve. Lucky for me.......I got both of them wrapped up in an easy to handle, bite-sized package."

The static slowly faded away, bringing the camera to the new location of our play of life. The stage is set, the lights are on, and the players are all in position, and now the show could begin. A glistening chandelier, composed of weeks worth of craftsmanship, each crystal-like piece of glass and gold-lined metal work hand made to come together in a display of brilliance and elegance hung high above the ground, the only piece focused on at the moment by the greedy camera. With pure force, the zoom out tab was pulled back, it's every attempt to return to the light, like a moth in a hypnotic trance, thwarted by it's handler.

The room in which the chandelier was settled seemed to be nothing more than a hotel lobby, but a horse of a different color is not the same as a regular horse. The walls, floor, and molding upon the ceiling finished with a fine oak color, glistening in the crystalized light from the center piece, along with the various lamps who's shades were covered by the finest blown glass. water paint decorations of reeds, cranes, and the geisha covered the walls. It didn't take much intellect to understand that this was the highest of the high class facilities.

"Mike King, you sound like an overgrown child crying to his mother about a skinned knee after being pushed down by his brother. "Mommy, it hurts! Please punish him mommy! Punish him!" How a man like you received the honor that is being my rival, I will never know. It's the same thing from you, week after week. Ryan Shane said this, I say that, Ryan Shane believes this, but he's a big stupid head."

The camera descended down to the lavish surroundings of the eye-level lobby, now arriving on a large leather chair. From the age of the set-up, the golden buttons lining the armrests, and the wooden legs of the seat, this was an antique. Antique furniture in a hotel lobby? Showing off may have been the situation, or maybe that was just the amount of money they had, but all the riches in the world couldn't compare to wealth sitting atop the seat.

The Chosen One of the Damage Regime had made this unworthy item his throne for the moment, his form lazily draped across it. His right leg dangled over the right armrest, his left off the front of the chair, resting on the ground. He used the left armrest for back support, the actual backrest now holding up his right arm. This would have been enough for the eyes to handle, but when the visual senses thought to calm, they were reawoken by the form of one Selena Abercrombie, sitting ontop of the left leg of her man Ryan, his left leg crossed over her right knee.

Ryan wore a woodland camoflauge baseball cap, three black X's embroidered on the front, his name lining the top side of his hat's brim. The shadows set off by that piece of clothing furthered by the Aviator shades nestled on the brim of his nose. While Selena covered most of the decal on his shirt, the words "Social Distortion" could be made out, as well as part of his face, probably yet another new Ryan Shane t-shirt. His shorts matched the same pattern as his hat, finishing just past his knees. Selena was dressed in a black tank-top and matching headband, three Red X's embroidered into it, and long, cmao pants to fit the theme Ryan had set in place.

Selena snickered at Ryan's child impersonation ment to be aimed at Mike King, looking down to Ryan, who simply gazed off-screen to the upper corner of the room. He took a deep breath through his nose, his nostrils flaring up for a passing second, lowering as the carbon dioxide left his body with a deep exhalation. He held his resting hand up, extending the fingers before speaking again.

"You hit all the cliches right on the button, man. The flash back, the tear jerking comments, the pretending to be more of a man than you really are, so first off I must compliment your brilliant performance. For a couple seconds there, I really thought you were serious. I really thought you were telling me all of this, all of the emotional breakdowns, the tears, the dedications, the heart break, out of the pain in your soul, and from someone who knows loss, I could appreciate that. Then it all started....."

Ryan brought his hands together, intertwining his fingers slowly to demonstrate the thoughts pulsing through the gray matter deep inside his skull.

"It all started piecing itself together. The insults aimed at my credibility, they were a mask in order to hide your own crimes. You're nothing more than a walking sympathy case, but you'll get nothing from me, kid. Liar, deceiver.....I'm......so proud."

Ryan acted out sadness, a fake heaving, followed by deep, rapid breaths to simulate crying. He looked up to Selena with an obviously acted out "sad face", who then frowned.

"Awww, poor baby."

She reached down, wiping just under his shade-covered eyes with her thumb, discarding the invisible "tears" from her boyfriend's face. they both made eye contact, breaking the act as they both shared a few laughs. Ryan shook his head, now looking into the eye of the camera again.

"See, Mike, we're not so different, as over used as that line is. Well, besides the fact that I'm a main eventer, naturally gifted, politically powerful, and unlike you, didn't have to ride coat tails to get where I am today, we're alike. Just like you, I owe my big break to Combat Zone Wrestling. Just like you, I sat at a seat of power within Youthful Aggression.......but then you dare make an attempt at how I got here? You say I rose to the top through kissing ass, through hiding behind the backs of my leaders? You don't own a television, do you? When was the last time I asked for help from anyone, let alone Derek Damage? When did you see me ask Mr. Damage to be his apprentice? I'll give you the answer, my special friend. Never. In fact, never in my life have I begged for assistance when it comes to anything, especially a fight. If I did, why would I be walking into a match with, not one, but two guys who want to kill me and will do anything to see that it happens?"

He shook his head at the sheer ignorance of "his brother", as well as the many others who accused him of brown nosing his way to the top. He heard the whispers, saw the fingers, but every one of them were connnected to a poisoned body, a corrupted mind. Idiots, the lot of them.

"See Mike, this is what seperates you and I. This is what forces the gap between Edgers, true 'til death, and punk ass nobodies like you. Mike, I live the do it yourself mentality formed by the punk rock scene, the forefather of Straight Edge. If I can't do it by myself, I continue to push forward until my objective breaks under my will. I stay clean, not because it's good for my health, but because it is good for my mind. Good for my strength, my skill. Mike, you were a drugged up nobody then and you're still one now. Once a failure, always a failure. You can sober up until the sun explodes, but you will never.....ever..."

Ryan reached up, removing his glasses. His eyes pulsated with rage, his demeanor bending to his will to kill. To destroy. To destroy Mike King, Brian Kirkland...............everyone.

"EVER......BE STRAIGHT EDGE! You're the kind of guy Edgers stab in back alley ways for bragging about false edgeness. You're the type of guy we kick doors in at parties on and beat down with baseball bats! Inside this heart, this one right here, beats nothing but Straight Edge, nothing but self-revolution!I live for the movement, nothing else, and that's something you could never understand! I have a purpose, and my purpose is life! The only reason I'm here today, in CZW, in this match that will serve as your last fight. is so I could spread my message on a world-wide scale. My promotion to the Damage Regime, nothing more than a means to better myself, a means to gain more air-time."

He tightened the grip upon his shades, placing them on the table next to him with a slamming motion.

"Mike you're one of the big fish in that little pond, been that way for a long time, but even the biggest fresh water fish cowar in the darks of the sea when introduced to the savage, Great White that is Ryan Shane. I'm going to eat you alive in one bite, but before that I'm going to hang you up by your gills and watch you thrash and gasp for breath, because trash like you deserve that. Everytime you call yourself Straight Edge you spit in, not only my face, but the faces of my brothers and sisters, every single person who worked sleeplessly to pave the way, and that is all I needed to strike you down. My actions are controversial to some, but to me, their justified to no end. Now mix in these latest lies and deceitful tales and actions, and you've racked up a personal death sentence!"

He looked up to Selena, rubbing her on the shoulder to get her attention.

"Babe, you should go get ready, we need to be at the theater in thirty minutes. Let me finish this little thing up before we go."

"Sure thing, baby."

Selena patted him on the shoulder, leaning in for a quick kiss on the cheek, before heading off-screen, aiming to meet the elevator, lifting up to their room. With her gone, Ryan sat up, leaning forward with his forearms resting on his knees. His eyes pierced intot he soul, punctured the will of his onlooking opponents. just casting a gaze upon the form of Ryan Shane seemed to break a man, let alone the knowledge that he was your opponent.

"What do you want from me, Mike? Do you want some sort of apology? Some sort of sympathy for the actions I've done? You think over the past year you'd realize that I'm not the person to get it from. I don't care. I don't care about your pointless deaths, both recent and long past. I don't care about your personal life, your past with my mentor, and above all, I don't care about your opinions. A wise man once said that people don't hate you because you're a bad guy, they hate you because you suck, and that's the story of your life, Michael."

Ryan looked past the camera, something catching his eye for some reason, then locking back on the camera.

"Mike, the reason you were held back by Mr. Damage is because ability appreciates ability. He didn't stick you into the minor leagues, you did! Amber left you, and I'm supposed to apologize, for what, having someone who loves me still? I kidnapped her to prove that I could, yeah I admit that, not like I can hide it, but I'm not the one that drove her away from you, you are! She left you because you couldn't stop me, and you still can't, not on your own. you didn't beat me that night, King. You, Brian Kirkland, Johnathan Shaw, and Christine Tolwar did! NOBODY beats Ryan Shane on their own, whether it be with the assistence of others or outside weapons, every victory, however few there are over me are all tainted, your's is no different."

A smirk began to crack on the face of Ryan Shane, the serpent smiling to the shivering rat in the grass before striking it dead.

"Then you tell me Derek Damage is a liar, a "Snake in the grass"...........do you want me to act surprised? Why do you think we mesh so well? We're cut from the same cloth, he and I. See, unlike you, unlike Kirkland, Shaw, the rest of them, I have no remorse. You all are just simple fools, following the codes of conduct society gives you. Nothing is real, Mike, Derek and I know that. We will say, do, hurt......anything to get what we want, to reach our goals. Derek Damage is a liar, a dictator, a heartless fiend...........but then again, so am I. It takes a killer to train a killer. I regret nothing."

A chuckle followed, accompanied by a head shaking fueled by complete hilarity. This was like killing a sleeping target, no struggle, just impact. He rubbed his bearded chin before leaning back into his chair, looking down his nose at the viewers.

"I do agree with you on one thing, King. This little war of ours, it should've never happened. It should've never happened because those scum you call friends were defeated! Each and every one of them, launched into the void of obscurity. None of them deserve this second chance, yet here they stand, and you're going to welcome them with open arms. Mike, those who don't pull the trigger on the battlefield die, that's how it goes. Go out there, extend the olive branch and watch as they impale you on it. You don't care about what I'll do? You don't care that I hate you for not siding with CZW? Fine, I can deal with that, but are you so ignorant that you can't see.......I stand with an army?"

Ryan extended his arms as he had just described his victim, showing off his full form to everyone in view.

"What do you expect to do when cornered by the others fighting for the banner of Combat Zone Wrestling? Guys like Mortius, Buzzsaw, Collum, Rowan? I don't face you alone, kid. I have two nations at my back. You may not have the fortitude, but we do, and the war is here. You sing your little tunes about your pathetic country's family issues, trying to force some tears I suppose? Now, my American history is a little rugged, but I do recall the Union completely annihilating the confederacy. In war, there is a winner and a loser, people die, people leave to see their family once again. You'll find that out when you're on the receiving end this Sunday."

He rose to his feet, brushing off his shorts before bending over, looking deep into the camera once again.

"Mike, you wanted my attention, you got it. I now see that you deserve no passage, no easy breaks, and you will no longer receive them from me. You bring up the list of names which perished in the senseless gunfire in the past few days, but rest assured knowing that after what I do to you Sunday, you'll wish your name was enscribed at the bottom. I said it to your idiotic half-brother, Tim Timmons, and I say the same to you. This Sunday, our little game of human chess comes to the end, and the curse will take the King."

A simple single laugh passed through the lips of the "Straight Edge Curse", his eyes holding no remorse for the wicked words which had tainted the air around him like a black aura, a final word thickening the color.

"Checkmate."

Ryan made his way off-screen, the camera zooming in and focusing on the chair he sat in, before cut to static once again.

The static cleared away, it's purpose resolved, to bring us back to the favorite location of this week, the busy streets of Tokyo, Japan. Unlike the other moments we had come in contact with this strange take on metropolis, this setting was during the heavily populated night time. In a scene that could only be rivaled by the sights and sounds of New York City, it seemed as if the sun did not set, rather took shelter in the hundreds of lights and screens nestled in the walls of the downtown district. Manga Chibi characters danced around on a giant screen hung overhead, selling some kinda of candy no one would touch on American soil, but the locals here seemed to love it.

Now enter the sights of a large building settled in the dead center of the camera. Large symbols of the japanese language covered a neon sign, times listed next to them. For those foreigners, mostly tourists, who were looking to catch a flick, the words "Movie Theater" were placed to help them on their way. The camera lowered from the sign, into the deep, hectic crowd formed infront of the building. Japanese teens spoke with each other, heading into the theater, as others exited, discussing plot twists and amazing special effects. A neon list rode by in red, spelling out the various movies. the first one, TRON: Legacy, seemed to be the choice of the moment.

Pushing their way through the crowd, the couple of Ryan Shane and Selena Abercrombie, hand in hand, discussed what they had seen in the theater. Amber's eyes lit up with excitment, the thoguhts of electrical other worlds dancing in her head. Ryan, not so much, but at this point Ryan not being moved by something wasn't really a surprise.

"Did you see when Tron came back to his senses and"

"Yeah, I did."

"And then Quorra flew them to.."

"I saw."

Selena stopped, turning Ryan to face her as she pouted.

"What did you not like it? How could you not like it?!?!"

Ryan shook his head, trying to reason with his girlfriend.

"It was alright. It was just, well, Star Wars......in a computer."

"What do you mean?"

"Oh, Come on Selena! The plot, He was basically the dude's Father, but not really. Darth vader. There were light sabers, his real dad used the damn force at the end! When CLU rose up through the floor, all I heard was "Dun dun dun, dun dundun, dun dundun". It was a good looking movie, awesome soundtrack, but whatever let's not worry about it."

Selena shook her head now, laughing at Ryan's response. Everyone else saw him as this big, heartless fighter out for blood. She saw his other side. The caring, protective guy she loved.

"Excuse me....Ryan?"

A soft voice called from just beyond the camera, turning the heads of both Ryan and Selena.

"What the hell is this slut doing here?"

The camera quickly panned to the left to bring int the new player to this moment, one Jenny Jacobs. Selena eyed her, her eyes narrowing to the girl who represented the very people Ryan was fighting to destroy. ryan placed a hand on her right shoulder, stepping forward a bit.

"She's here because I called her, love. Hello Jennifer, how's your day been?"

Jenny raised an eyebrow, scoughing at Ryan's words.

"Get real Ryan, it took some convincing to even get me here, don't try and play me with all of this nice guy stuff. I still haven't forgave you for what you've done."

Ryan chuckled, realizing he had been caught in the act, literally. He sighed, his hands now out at his side as he began to explain the situation.

"Jenny, let's try and act like adults, shall we? I mean, who knows more about having adult feelings in them than you? Hehehehe, but in all seriousness, I invited you here for a reason. If we're going to have a family reunion at Extreme Insurrection, who's to say you should be left out of the party? Our little sister."

Ryan went to pat Jenny on the shoulder as he had done to Selena, only to have his hand slapped away by the rather irritated looking Jacobs.

"Don't touch me you bastard! Do you think any of us have forgotten what you've done? Who you hurt to get that nice little office, the jet, the limo?"

Ryan scowled, unleashing a torrent of words that would crush the heathan soul of Jenny.

"You mean the very people who hurt you? The very people who ruined your life, only to play savior? Look at yourself Jennifer, your hair's back but nothing's changed. You're still the same damn whore with the smae damn attitude, only difference is that you got beat up a few more times! Now shut your mouth and hold the fucking microphone!"

Jenny couldn't respond, the thoughts racing, her arm locked into place as Ryan turned ot face the cameraman Jenny had brought with her. Ryan placed his hands into the pockets of his hoody, the logo of the band "A Day to Remember" plastered on the front. He demanded the time, the area around him bowing to his figure.

"See boys, Jennifer knows better than anyone about the feud we have going on right now. She's been at our side since day one........among others, but none of you really helped her, did you? Brian promised her safety, salvation, then sicked his whore of a girlfriend on her, and for what? To prove his power? It proved his weakness, nothing more. Mike, hell, Mike just sat back and watched, and Jacob, Jacob caused her suffering! Then you brain wash her into one of your flunkies. She is the perfect picture of the chaos that needs to be righted, that you've left behind for me to clean up. She knows all to well that our lives since the rebirth of Youthful Aggression have been..........well, have been like a movie. You begin with all that boring, lead up stuff that nobody really cares about but sits through it anyway. You know, the war-torn hero, the old friend, the talented rookie aiming for the top spot, the usual team. For weeks we watched as they met, grew, became a unit."

Ryan laughed lightly as he continued with his speech, his thoughts themed on how he really like this movie reference. Let's keep that going.

"There's so many film styles in which this relationship of ours could be displayed. Personally, I can see the two of you in a comedy for your attempts to try and look important. It's funny to me that you try, and try, and fail, and try again, only to fail again. I'm amused that you'll never defeat me, but you keep telling yourself that you will. Makes the smile on my face that much wider when I claim victory."

Ryan nodded, then looked up to the left, shaking his head in agreement to a voice in the back of his head, telling him another type of cinema he could use.

"Then again, we could say that we're entangled in a bit of a Drama, no? The kidnapping of Amber, the sudden attacks out of nowhere, the deceit, the pain! It's beautiful, isn't it? Every ounce of blood painting such a pretty picture. Too bad the director doesn't like happy endings, it would have been great to see the two best friends standing tall, united in victory. What will happen is that they both will fall at each other's side, joining their ancestors in the great beyond, their enemy licking their blood off of his blade. Perhaps we are a science Fiction piece, armies of opposing forces clashing in a war unseen by human eyes before, controlled on both ends by powerful lords, coming to face each other at a final battle. Unlike in the very movies I speak of, the dark side will rule the day. The light will be crushed."

The smirk of Ryan Shane grew wider, his thumbs leaving his hoody pockets, resting on the outside of the pocket.

"Then again, after Sunday, for you two, this will all end in Tragedy. Let's face it, this has become your own personal horror film, the monster being brought to life by your own creation. Your own perfect design for a super soldier, but as every horror movie goes, the monster reached out, slaying his creators in the process. It broke free from the lair, tearing anyone in it's path, citizens, warriros, in didn't matter, to pieces. Guys, if this is a horror film, you two are the dumb teens walking around in the woods. With your actions as of late, you're all but begging for you death, and just like the viewers to these fans, the fans are just chomping at the bit to watch you suffer. Now, who am I to say no to the millions within the CZW Nation who will pay to watch the Slaughter? Who's to say I can't let them have a little fun too? they'll be screaming out from their seats, some even warning you to turn around............but in the end, it's too late. It's always too late."

The laughs grew louder, Ryan tilting his head back as his eyes closed from the tension in his jaw muscles. He lowered his head again, letting off one more sigh to relieve the remaining air built up in his mouth and lungs.

"I'd like to personally welcome you both to Camp Crystal Lake, because I'm going to slice into you with glee this Sunday. The movie has been playing for far too long, but finally we are arriving at the climax of the performance. You see, guys, come Sunday, we arrive at the Murder Scene of this tale, and I see two victims in my sights. I make sure to close your eyes as they lay the tape down around you, as not to disturb your next of kin."

Ryan clenched fists inside his pockets, removing them to the full view of everyone around him. He looked down to the X's permanently placed on his skin, his eyes then shooting up to the recording device before him.

"If I live in a world where your words are true, where Brian Kirkland represents the Straight Edge movement and I don't, I don't want to be Straight Edge. I don't want to be involved with a movement lead by an idiot who doesn't know what it stands for, and his lackey who blindly follows off of the side of the cliff to his doom. I know better, so I proudly wear these marks, and they will be the finally things you see before our show comes to a close. Mike, Brian, I've come to realize that in this movie, you two are recurring characters. No amtter what I've done, who I've attacked, you all keep coming back. This is why I have to go to a place that I've yet to return sinc emy debut. A place where any conscious I may possess disappears, and nothing but the black void of destruction remains. This sunday, I add two more names to the list of careers I've cut down in their prime, it is the only way, but look on the bright side, you won't be alone. I'm sure old Bucky will keep you company in the group home, maybe teach you how to use your new wheelchairs? At Extreme Insurrection, I roll the credits on you two mother fuckers, and this time when I knock you down, when I drop you on your heads, you'll stay down......"

Ryan's fists rose up, clenching into rage-filled fists, the artwork spelling out the words "Stay Down" forming across his knuckles.

"Permenantly!"

Ryan let off one more roar before glaring into the eyes of Jenny Jacobs, forcing her back slightly, Ryan gripped Selena's hand, charging off-screen, pulling her slightly by her arm with just enough time for her to shoot a mean glance to the interviewer. the camera focused on the now broken spirit of Jenny, a perfect symbol for the destruction Ryan was about to inflict on his opponents on Sunday. The camera feed distorted, giving into static before cutting to a solid black.
