Indestructible

This thread's pretty simple: Go through your e-fedding history, and post up all the different songs you've used as entrance music over the years... Or at least, what you can remember. I figure something like this might be good to get an insight into characters and how they've evolved over the years.

I'll try to list everything I've used for all my characters, including singles, tag teams, and stables. I'll also add rationale where I can think of it.

AC Thunder
"Thunderstruck" by AC/DC - Corny, yet logical theme choice for a guy just starting in the guy; I'm thinking 'Hey, something with my character's name in it!', and it kinda stuck.

"Testify" by Rage Against The Machine - Used in my very first tag team called the Young Guns; wanted something that provided energy and attitude at the same time. You'll hear more from Rage later.

"Run" by Blackline - I wanted something a little more edgy and defiant since I was moving into a main event slot in my first fed, and I'm not entirely sure how I came across this song since the band isn't that well known, but it worked for me!

"Indestructible" by Disturbed - The air raid sirens at the beginning worked to help hype the character's return after a long absence.

"Before I Forget" by Slipknot - This one came to me as I was going through a bit of a tough time in my life (and I was getting clobbered in Sin City Wrestling), and I channeled the darker side of myself for e-fedding, with this being the result.

"That Was Just Your Life" by Metallica - This one debuted at Cancun Clash, SCW's equivalent to WrestleMania, in the main event where Thunder won his first Global Championship. I wanted something epic since I was building to a showdown with arguably the toughest writer I've ever faced, and the heartbeats to open this song set the tone just the way I wanted.

"Honor" by Atreyu - Not my song choice, but used while in a stable called Defiance Reborn in SCW with Georgie Nickles (one of the game's all-time greats, in my opinion) and Bryan Payne, where we were trying to stand up to the infamous One Ring Circus stable, which was running through multiple feds.

"Come Again" by Thornley - I was starting in a Canadian-based fed called Simcoe County Championship Wrestling, and so I wanted something unmistakably Canadian that a) was edgy, and b) wasn't Nickelback. The singer has a bit of a Chris Cornell vibe to him, and he's one of my favourites, so this fit in nicely.

"Superhero" by Jane's Addiction - Used in Thunder's final SCW run for the Vegas Cup, then in his short run in TFWF. Oddly enough, the choice was inspired by EP using Hypersonic either here or in EWA; I thought the Jane's Addiction vibe might fit this character as well, so I went on with the Entourage theme!

Ace King
"Ace of Spades" by Motorhead - This just works, plain and simple.

"Down and Out" by Tantric - With the pace of Ace of Spades, I wanted to try something with a little more depth while carrying the same kind of message I was going for with my RP's, and this was the result.

"Whose Fist Is This Anyway?" by Prong - The original AMP XTC theme song, this was chosen by Matt Stylez; it was certainly a heavier tone, though that didn't last long thanks to Matt turning heel. The end result?

"Guerrilla Radio" by Rage Against The Machine - The song everybody knows as Team XTC today, this was born on similar lines to Testify with the Thunder tag team: Something that brought the energy, but also provided the requisite attitude that said we weren't taking shit from anyone.

"Writing's On The Wall" by The Tea Party - The theme song for the Five-Star Gamblers, I think it was just something I basically pushed Pabs to agree on :P ; that said, it does have a solid bass line, and it's punchy enough to deliver the message that, again, we're not folks to be messed with.

Jacques Angryman ... I mean, Jack Abraham
"Son Of A Bitch" by Kyuss - In creating this character, I wanted something sludgy, sleazy, and brooding to fit with the character, and going back to the early 90s seemed like a logical move. His original nickname was The Renegade, so it also had that kind of "fuck you" attitude I wanted.

"Hunted Down" by Soundgarden - This was Abraham's theme in EWA; the contents made sense as Abraham's nickname was 'The Timber Wolf', though I used the opening 10 to 15 seconds of Son Of A Bitch to start it to really draw the 'Oh, it's this guy we really don't like, let's boo the hell out of him' vibe.

Robb McBride
"Unreal" by Ill Nino - The character's first-ever theme song while in Diamond Elite Wrestling. I was looking at bands from around the world (I was close to having "Attitude" by Sepultura as my pick here), but something about the pure rage in this song appealed to me; it was my first real heel character, so I wanted something angry-sounding to get the character into a mode. BK or MK, do you guys remember if we used Cult of Personality for our stable there? That would have been really name, as that's what the stable was called... (Before anyone says anything, this is pre-CM Punk pipe bomb)

"11 Silver" by Ozzy Osbourne - With the move to what was then known as Phoenix Wrestling Revolution (later shortened to Phoenix Wrestling; Diamond Elite was a developmental fed), I thought the character needed something a little more mainstream. It also makes a fair few drug references, which is something I played up in the character's background.

"Sideways Attack" by Priestess - In many ways, this is the signature McBride theme. It sets a blistering pace, and the content aligned with the character's vision at the time perfectly (In storyline, the character was given a Wellness Policy suspension [Translates to I no-showed a big PPV because I was in Toronto for my uncle's wedding], but it was spun to have the character framed by the person I went on to feud with, so the lines "the truth I believed in betrayed / My revenge, I long for the day" and "No remorse and I've no regrets / Let them fall, all around me" worked so well.)

"Mind Eraser, No Chaser" by Them Crooked Vultures - This was Robb's entrance music in any match for the Championship Wrestling Council, in many ways the little brother to The Experts. It wasn't used much, but what it did do was provide the basis for Robb's current gimmick and moniker, "The Dangerous Side Effect."

Alright, there's my soundtrack (I think), what about you guys?

VIVA LA RAINBOWLUTION!!!

EL PABLO

"Been Training Dogs" by The Cooper Temple Clause - I wanted a British band since - at this point - I was booking EP as having been born in the UK; I've been a fan of TCTC for years, and this is one of my favourite songs by them; love the energy and it sounds like something you'd hear on Attitude-era WWE TV.

"Rebel Rebel" by David Bowie - This was when I first put EP in a mask; his PB was NOIZ by Takakuya Sugi, which obviously led to the genesis of "Flying Squirrel" El Pablo. Feathers and Boas being a key feature of Glam Rock, I wanted a suitable soundtrack to emphasise the new look and the new vibe; and what could be more fabulously Glam Rock than classic David Bowie?

"Los Angeles is Burning" by Bad Religion - This was the theme for El Fuego (EP and Krimzon Blaze). Another high-octane, high-energy song, which also (which mostly) has 'Burning' in the title.

"Hypersonic" by Jane's Addiction - I'm not sure if I first used this in EWA or towards the end of CZW's initial run, but, by this point, EP had transitioned from NOIZ to El Blazer; still fabulous, still all feathers and boas, but I just felt like I wanted something with a little more "energy" behind it. This was also around the time I was playing a lot of SSX3, which included this song on the soundtrack, and seemed to fit well with throwing yourself down the side of a mountain at high speeds...thus, perfect for throwing yourself around a wrestling ring! (or off a building!)

"Party Hard" by Andrew WK - This was EP's return to the ring, and to CZW. We were just around the corner from the beginning of the Skittles era, and, since I'd toyed with the idea of using this song for years, it seemed the perfect opportunity to finally push that button.

"Get On Your Boots" by U2 - EP's SCW theme, which marked the debut of EP's fabulous new Tyler Breeze-inspired wrestling boots. That's about all the thought I put into it, although it has obvious stylistic ties to the Glam of the aforementioned "Rebel Rebel".

VERTIGO

"Fighting The Gravity" by Blink-182 - It's dark, it's brooding, it's mysterious, which, along with the title, served as the perfect fit for a mute luchador with a crippling fear of heights.

CHICO VOLANDO

"Surfing With The Alien" by Joe Satriani - Loud, brash, high-octane and from the same period in history as APW was based, which was the fed for which I first created the character.
