Indestructible

Ace King is sitting in the stands of America West Arena in Phoenix, attempting to focus his efforts on his upcoming Intercontinental Title Battle Royal on War Zone, where The Gambler will take on Andrew Arashavin, Chris Dee, Mack Beaudin, and Jeremy Dart. He is listening to his iPod, when "The Pretender" by Foo Fighters starts playing.

Keep you in the dark you know they all pretend
Keep you in the dark and so it all began

Ace King thinks back to his childhood, when wrestling was taboo in his house, and how he only discovered it as a teenager by stopping into Caesar's Palace for a moment while taking a break from his usual gambling in Las Vegas.

Send in your skeletons
Sing as their bones go marching in again

After discovering wrestling at Caesar's Palace, King makes the decision to try and become a wrestler for a living, while his parents threw up every objection they could to stop him from going down that route.

They need you buried deep
The secrets that you keep are ever ready
Are you ready

Cut away to a shot of Ace King leaving his home in Sin City to pursue his dreams of becoming a wrestler under Jose Lothario, and then quickly realizing just how hard it is. Ace King is also seen in something resembling a depression, seemingly wanting to abandon his dream and returning to his normal life.

I'm finished making sense
Done pleading ignorance...that whole defense

Ace King explaining his reasons for pursuing wrestling as a career to those who are close to him. They seem a little bit puzzled as to why somebody as intelligent as Thunder would leave his legendary gambling exploits behind in favour of trying to do something where he would consistently be putting himself in danger of being seriously injured.

It's been an infinity, oh
The wheel is spinning me
It's never ending
Never ending
Same old story

Ace King is shown taking his knocks on the indie circuits, waiting for his big chance to break into the big show known as CZW.

What if I say I'm not like the others
What if I say I'm not just another one in your place
You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender

Ace King enjoys limited success on the indie circuit, serving as a jobber for a majority of his time. He was able to capture a few titles in various promotions, but he was never given an extended run as a champion.

In time or so i'm told
I'm just another soul for sale
Oh well

One day, Ace King is in a depression, having just been notified of his release from the promotion he had just joined a month or two before. Ace is contemplating ending it once and for all, when he gets a call at his Phoenix home. He sees the letters CZW on the phone, and a curious Ace King answers the phone. The call is from Derek Damage, with an invitation to try out for the new CZW promotion.

We are not permanent
We're temporary
Temporary
Same old story

Determined to not let what could very well be his last chance at wrestling glory slip away, Ace is seen working hard in the gym with Jose Lothario, trying his hardest to become the best wrestling talent that he can possibly be. His new-found inspiration and drive amaze those around him. However, Ace continues to push harder, never satisfied with his current state.

What if I say I'm not like the others
What if I say I'm not just another one in your place
You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender

The man who would become CZW's Resident High-Rolling, High-Octane Gambler is seen in the locker-room mentally preparing himself for his CZW debut at War Zone in Rochester, New York as one of 23 hopefuls in a challenge to determine the first CZW World Champion .

I'm the voice inside your head
You refuse to hear
I'm the face that you have to face
Mirroring your stare
I'm what's left
I'm what's right
I'm the enemy
I'm the hand that'll take you down
Bring you to your knees

At this point, the voices of Andrew Arashavin, Mack Beaudin, Jeremy Dart, and Chris Dee all start echoing inside Thunder's head. They all want the same thing King is gunning for: The Intercontinental Championship.

So who are you
Yeah who are you
Yeah who are you
Yeah who are you

Ace King quickly reminds himself that he must focus on his own game in order to emerge victorious in the Battle Royal, much the same way he did in order to receive the invitation to join the CZW roster in the first place.

Keep you in the dark you know they all pretend

As the clock counts down to zero before King, the 20th entrant in the Rumble For The Gold, is announced. As he stands backstage, voices of people from King's past, good and bad, dead and living, echo through his head. King is even more motivated than before, and he makes his way out to the ring to pursue the CZW World Title.

What if I say I'm not like the others
What if I say I'm not just another one in your place
You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender

A quick flashback to the debut of CZW War Zone, which featured the Rumble For The Gold that determined who the first CZW World Champion would be. After initially not being given much of a chance in the match, Ace King surprises everyone by reaching the Final Four in the Rumble For The Gold, and then being the one of the final two men left standing in the Steel Cage Match, which was ultimately won by CZW World Champion Zodiac Thrilla.

So who are you
Yeah who are you
Yeah who are YOUUUUUU!!!!

After spending time thinking about what has gotten him to this point, Ace King now feels the need to establish himself once and for all as one of the best wrestlers on the CZW roster. With that thought firmly entrenched in his mind, Ace King takes off in the direction of the gym to continue training.
