Sad that we didn't saw any interaction between Callie and Arizona. This was probably best Japril's episode. Sarah did one hell of a job in this episode. April's scene with Callie and the last one with Jackson were absolutely beautiful and really sad.

‘Grey’s Anatomy': Jackson Finally Tells April About Their Baby’s Fate

Never a dull moment at Grey-Sloane Memorial Hospital, huh?
At the beginning of the Jan. 29 episode, we’re reminded of Derek’s heartbreaking decision to leave Meredith and their children behind in Seattle while he — finally — takes a job for the President in Washington, D.C.

As Derek is packing his bags, Amelia and Arizona are reviewing Dr. Herman’s charts and brain scans, while Jackson is delivering some terrible news to his wife, April, about the baby she’s carrying — it has a rare, fatal disease.

Dr. Herman Finds Out Arizona Stole Her Charts
Arizona is worried about Dr. Herman (Geena Davis), but Amelia has assured her — maybe even fully convinced her — that she can save her from her once fatal brain tumor. Unfortunately, before Arizona is able to tell Dr. Herman about the life-saving surgery, she discovers that Arizona and Amelia were examining her charts by mistake. Needless to say, she’s not happy about it.

Her anger doesn’t last very long though, because Amelia interjects her yelling at Arizona to tell her that she can beat the tumor. Without responding to this claim, Dr. Herman walks out on them.

Arizona tries again to get Dr. Herman to consider Amelia’s offer for tumor removal, but she is not interested. Instead, Arizona gets a long speech about how “hope” is the worst symptom of fatal cancer — and she doesn’t want it to come back.

But, that’s not all. It’s Callie who feels April’s wrath again, as the expectant mom’s emotions overcome her. Now, April’s upset because she’s thinking about people who can’t have a baby, who try and try but it doesn’t work out, and meanwhile the woman in surgery had two and nearly killed them. It’s not fair, April knows it’s not fair, Callie knows it’s not fair, but April’s mood swings are off the charts and Callie is left stunned as her pregnant friend storms off.

Finally, Jackson begs Arizona to tell him what’s going on. What do he and April need to know? What can they do? Is there anything they can do?

Dr. Herman Agrees To Amelia’s Risky Surgery
In happier news, Arizona finally gets through to Dr. Herman about trying to remove her tumor. She discusses the possible options and decides that she can either die, become a vegetable, or live — but she wants to wait. Against Amelia’s medical advice, she wants to wait so that she lives her life as long as she can. Just in case.

After burying herself in emergency room patients all day, April is finally forced to confront Jackson about what’s happening to their baby. He tells her that they are going to sit with Arizona and get an explanation, but April tells him that she spent all night looking at case studies and their worst case is that their baby will live for only minutes after birth. Best case? Numerous surgeries for the rest of it’s life.

In typical April fashion, she questions how her God could do this to them. How he could let a woman have children, and then get a tumor that causes her to nearly kill her family.
That’s when April decides to tell Jackson they are having a boy just as she finally breaks down emotionally in his arms.

Grey's Anatomy Recap: Will April and Jackson Lose Their Baby?

In other news, Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), positioned in a DEFCON 5-esque Situation Room within the hospital, can't wait to get her scalpel around Dr. Hermann's (Geena Davis) tumor; and Jackson (Jesse Williams) breaks the news that their baby may have a fatal disease to April (Sarah Drew), who promptly runs out of the room.

Even though she's worried about winding up in jail for any number of HIPAA violations, Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) realizes she has to tell Dr. Hermann that Amelia wants to operate on her. "I'm too pretty for prison," she tells Amelia - and she's right, although I'm intrigued and temporarily distracted by the thought of a Grey's Anatomy-Orange Is the New Black crossover episode.

Anyway, it's too late. Dr. Hermann has somehow snuck into Grey-Sloan's SitRoom and is outraged that Arizona has somehow obtained X-rays of her tumor and has shared them with other staff members. But Amelia is confident she can beat the tumor, so now it's just a matter of convincing Dr. Hermann to go under the knife.

With Arizona still campaigning on behalf of Amelia, Dr. Hermann finally snaps that she doesn't want the operation because, after numerous disappointments, she's essentially given up all hope of beating the disease. And later, when Jackson wants to talk to Arizona about the baby, Dr. Hermann advises her protégé to be a realist rather than giving them false hope. Needless to say, Arizona and Dr. Hermann have very different philosophies in this regard.
But as it turns out, apparently Arizona is pretty persuasive, and Dr. Hermann agrees that she'll let Amelia operate - but only when the tumor is at the point of no return, so that she can teach Arizona as much as possible in the meantime. (And even with the operation, her chances of survival aren't great.)

Don't like this pseudo friendship. They are pushing it down our throats like Mer and Webber's spawn friendship. Hope we will get see more Arizona and April's scenes.

Grey's Anatomy Recap: Going, Going Wrong

Laughter may be the best medicine, but it sure didn’t get prescribed a whole lot in the midseason premiere of Grey’s Anatomy.

THE WORST OF TIMES | Having learned from Stephanie (off screen) that his and April’s baby was doomed, Jackson broke the news to his wife, who – in spite of the shock – immediately went back to work. When he had Owen pull her from surgery, she picked a fight with her husband, and in turn, he broke down in a supply closet in front of Richard. Later, she lit into Stephanie for not telling her that she’d seen something in that fateful ultrasound before telling anyone else, and raged at Callie over the injustice of a mother blessed with children driving them off a bridge, potentially to their deaths. When Jackson informed her that a tumor had taken away the mother’s control, April began to lose it. “Why would God let that happen?” she railed. Since that’s a pretty unanswerable question, Jackson moved to hold her, and she asked him not to. If he did, she’d start crying, she said, and she’d never stop. Sadly, the tears came, anyway. “Did I tell you it’s a boy?” she asked, sobbing. “We’re having a boy.”

HEAD CASE | Before Arizona had worked up the nerve tell her mentor that Amelia thought she could save her life, Herman found the scans of her tumor and deduced what Robbins had done. At first, it appeared that – broken laws be damned – Herman wasn’t pleased simply because Herman is never pleased. But in fact, she had a great explanation for her continued upset: Hope is the worst symptom of her condition. So she didn’t want any more of it, thank you very much. However, after Arizona blasted her for blowing off a chance that Jackson and April only WISHED their baby had, Herman had herself a weepy moment alone and finally let Amelia present her plan of attack. This is doable, Shepherd said. But “we need to do this now.” Though Herman agreed to the treatment, she insisted on waiting until the last possible moment. Until then, she was determined to keep teaching Arizona and living her life.

They've both got issues, but why they can face problems together and come out of them stronger? And please don't even mention a ridiculous couple's therapy. We never heard Callie say what she loves about Arizona in therapy.
