This topic is for any and all discussion of a possible 3rd game for the Kotor series! We all want it, but HOW do we want it? What gameplay do you want? What characters? Firstly, I want a MAJOR tie-in to the comics. I want.... Jarael and Gryph to be in it. And Zayne! This is the only place for Kotor III Speculation! |

While I definitely want to have a third in the series, I feel it needs to leave the main characters of the comic series alone. With the games set well after the comic series, this would only tie the hands of the comic writers, as they try to ensure that Zayne, Gryph and Jarael survive in the same condition they end up in during Kotor3. I would much rather see a few of the minor characters reappear (think Rohlan Dyer for one!). The story should actually start with yet another amnesiac character, travelling after Revan and the Exile and deal with what they find in the Unknown Regions. Since we have no mention of the final fate of Darth Revan or the Exile, it would be interesting to progress that storyline. However, if you wanted the Moomo brothers to make an appearance, that would be awesome!!!! |

Well, first off, the comic characters are going to be way to old to be of any use probably. The comics are set years before the first Kotor, let alone the third. Although don't get me wrong it's possible, I just don't see it. I really think Obsidian and Chris Avellone should handle this game. |

I would like to see it follow Revan! He was my favorite in KOTOR 1 and he just dissapeared for 2...didn't like that. |

I agree with Chervil. I think III should introduce a character (perhaps a Jedi who is tasked by the Jedi Council) who is tasked to follow Revan and the Exile and discover what they are doing. The game has you following them through the Unknown Regions where you fight the New Sith, eventually defeating them or joining them. |

Revan and Exile can't really appear. In the first two games, the gamer left an imprint on their character that can't be reversed. The main character can hear about them but they can't see them. |

There Canon selves can appear- after all we should really get to know what they really look like. |

I wouldn't mind that but there would be a lot of other people who would. We're SW fans, heavily involved in the EU so continuity is important to us. For non SW fans who followed both games, Revan and the Exile are seen as how the player created them. It can be done but there really isn't a perfect answer. |

If Revan appears people will complain, if he doesn't, people will complain. Either way they cannot win. |

I'm kind of surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but what if you were able to choose the species of your character as well as the gender? I'd like to see an Ithorian rise above all odds and save the galaxy! |

Just like Invincible. People always find a way to complain about something. I would love to be able to play as another race. Perhaps a Twi'lek or, even better, an Arkanian..... the child of Jarael and Zayne! |

I agree that there can be no real way for them to allow the players to interact with Revan or the Exile. While it had not occured to me before, I agree with Iron Fist that the imprint left on the characters by the players of the first two games is too strong to allow us to see them as simply a third party character, and not one we can control. Here is what basically will need to happen: The player is tasked with finding Revan and the Exile and helping them. Most of the game will be a quest to find them, with clues mounting as to exactly what the threat is and how it can be countered (or stopped). The player will be given choices of either eliminating the threat for the good of the galaxy or using the threat to rule the galaxy. If they choose to eliminate the threat, the reach a point in their journey where they realize that Revan and the Exile are either dead or have disappeared yet again. However they have left detailed instructions as to what must be done so the player knows how to confront the threat head on. Eventually, the player will have to realize that there is no real way to "win". The threat cannot be destroyed, only nuetralized. So they must sacrifice themself in order to "stop" the threat. In the end, they die, and become a Force Spirit, and join Revan and the Exile, all three being seen side by side maybe on Dantooine or somewhere, watching the few remaining Jedi slowly gather together to rebuild the order. |

I do like that idea. It can even corporate the going through planets, like both Kotor I and II have done. Many people like the idea of starting as a padawan in the new Jedi Order and I have to agree. |

Not a bad outline at all Chervil. I like it quite a bit although I'm not sure the player character should die at the end. I almost think it would be interesting if the character has two decisions. If he goes lightside, he helps rebuild the order. If they go darkside, then they destroy the majority of the Sith and take it over but keeping it underground. |
