I bring great shame upon myself when I say that I have never, ever read a Star Wars novel. Seriously, I have no idea which one to start with because there are, like, 8 billion of them.

Saga, it really depends on what era you're interested in. Since you're posting in a KotOR forum, I would suggest starting at Darth Bane: Path of Destruction or Darth Bane: Rule of Two. Those are both KotOR era novels.

If you're interested in the New Republic Era, then I'd have a completely different set of suggestions. Post what you're interested in and I (and some of the other members) should be able to help you out. :D

Darth Bane, huh? I'll check it out.

I've actually received a two Star Wars novels as gifts--X-Wing Rogue Squadron and The Cestus Deception--but haven't opened up either one. I'm thinking that I may read some Clone Wars novels, but I'd also like to know what happens after Episode 6 ended--I know that Han and Leia have children, and Luke gets married to Mara Jade and they have a son, but that's pretty much as far as my knowledge goes. I know virtually nothing other than that.

Well, if you're interested in Post-RotJ, definitely go with the Thrawn trilogy. Clone Wars isn't my specialty so you'll have to ask someone else about that area. Hope that helps.

Right now I'm reading this thread. ;)
I'm also reading Jedi Twilight, which I just got.

As far as Clone Wars novels go, I would recommend reading the Republic Commando series by Karen Traviss. They are some of my favorite books (and I mean all books, not just Star Wars). There are also a few KOTOR references in Karen Traviss' books. You will learn some Mando'a as well, which is useful when reading the KOTOR comics.

It has a Light Side and a Dark Side, and it binds the galaxy together!

I just finished "Path of Destruction" last week, and for reference Saga, it is a pretty awesome book, I recommend it. Right now I'm plowing through "Jedi Twilight", and its pretty good so far, though I think there are so many characters in it that its hard to keep track of the plot.
