Mirei leered over the balcony at the crowd of fighters who bustled through the Cardfight Arena. A huge mass of excited Vanguard players queuing up for fights, duking it out, swapping cards and discussing tactics. It was glorious. The Arena was serving its purpose of being a hub for fighters to meet, play, and love. ...So how was it Mirei couldn't get any action!? Fighting, that is. Sure, if she set one foot down there, she'd be mobbed...but no, she needed someone special. Someone impressive. Someone who no one would expect her to fight. Someone who she could get the drop on. Scanning the crowds, adjusting her bright pink jacket and pale rose skirt, she readied herself for an opponent. They had to be here. Someone with that spark of a fighter- A flash of lightning ripped through her, as she spotted them. There, right there! She didn't think before she flung herself over the bar, dropping ten or so feet and landing, fittingly on her feet. The eyes of the crowd around her turned towards the source of the "THUMP", and that made it all the more embarrassing when she collapsed, clutching her leg in pain. But that wasn't enough to stop Mirei Hanazono. She flung her arm out, pointing directly at the person she'd spotted. "Y-YOU! Y-YOU THERE-g-god damn it, owww...-F-FIGHT ME!" And that person was...!? |

The Cardfight Arena... This large stadium is supposed to be the place where the top of top fighters would fight to become the best in the region, going as far as best in the nation. Yet why was it filled with all these weaklings...? A darker toned guy was standing amongst all the peasants who believed themselves to be good at Vanguard. Hah, what a joke. These people don't deserve to even stand in such a building. Humans are weird creatures, is what the guy, who knows himself as Catigern, thought as he walked around. As he walked, whispers from other fighters could be heard around him. "Isn't that...?", "Yeah, it's that guy from CPI.", "The Merciless Shimmering Dragon Knight". He went to the nearest place inside the arena where drinks were sold and asked for a Cray Cola. While sitting there, a boy came towards him. "H-Hey s-sir! Y-You're Kiryuko, r-right?" He asked, even though he was obviously scared, the guy didn't respond nor did he move. He just took his glass of Cray Cola and started gulping it down. "U-uh... C-C-Could I have a C-Cardfight with y-you?" This time he stopped drinking and put his glass away from his lips. "...I-I am a b-big f-fan you se--" Before the boy could finish his sentence, the guy silenced crowd around him when he slammed the glass down on the table. This caused a crack in the glass, a few pieces of it falling inside his less than half-filled glass of liquid. "No." he then replied... "B-But!!--" as he was about to speak up, he was already interrupted. "I SAID NO, YOU ARE NOT WORTHY OF A FIGHT WITH ME YOU STUPID BOY, NOW GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!" This silenced the crowd once again. The boy now in tears, ran away. "Great... now my drink is ruined again..." he said to himself. He paid the waiter and left, heading towards the exit. Why did he thought he would've found a strong opponent here...? It was all a waste of time. But then as he was about to reach the exit, a loud sound was heard. As he turned around to see what happened, a woman in pink was laying on the floor. He recognized her, how could he not? It was the current Vanguard World Champion, Mirei Hanazono. As she pointed at him, she shouted "Y-YOU! Y-YOU THERE-g-god damn it, owww...-F-FIGHT ME!". The guy started to smirk. Finally a worthy opponent! This was the perfect moment to see how strong humans actually were. As the current World Champion, surely she must be the strongest opponent he could face! "Heh, it was about damn time someone strong showed up. I accept your challenge!" he said to her in a fierce tone. As he helped her up he introduced himself with a smirk "Greetings, my name is Kiryuko Taiki, student at CPI and the strongest opponent you could face around here.". Mirei was now officially sprawled out on the floor, trying to recover from her nasty fall. She stumbled to her feet, a bit thankful for him helping her, brushing pink tufts from her face. "Y-you!" She barked, trying to seem cool. "I-In the name of...uh...er..." She hadn't really seen the whole thing. She didn't even realize it was happening until she was halfway through her freefall. "T-that guy you just made cry, I'll punish you!!" She even completed it with a super goofy looking magical girl pose. Suddenly, a light bulb went off, and it was obvious on her face. Kiryuko Taiki? From CPI's CVA!? The same team as that crimson-haired bastard she'd beaten at last year's nationals!? What's he doing here!? "Kiryuko Taiki!? What're you doing here?" |

Catigern didn't really listen or watch to any of her anime-magical bullsh*t. So annoying, you'd think a World Champion would at least act a little to their title or something. Humans are stupid creatures indeed... "What am I doing here? I was hoping to find some strong opponents to fight against, yet no one seemed worth my time here." he said nonchalantly, "So I was about to take my leave, that was, until YOU dropped onto the floor challenging me for a fight." He walked a little around Mirei, people backing off when he got near them, as if he had an invisible forcefield that pushed people away. "And what are you doing here, Mrs. World Champion? Isn't this place too boring for the likes of you...?" Kiryuko blurted out deliberately as he got closer to Mirei. He then came even closer next to her face and whispered to her in a taunting way... "...or is it that you got rusty and needed to beat some weaklings?" He backed off with a smirk on his face. |

Mirei furrowed her brow. What was she doing here? "I...I live here?" Well, technically she lived around two blocks away and a street over. "W-wait a minute! I'd never beat on some helpless weaklings! And who're you to judge someone's ability just by looking at them!?" She angrily rolled up her sleeves, reaching for her deckbox. "And I never get rusty, scrub! I'll prove it to you!" But...she couldn't deny that creepy aura that was emanating from the man. Even though he was younger, he was sufficiently more intimidating, in a very unsettling way. "Fight me!" She shoved the baby pink deck box into Kiryuko's face, fire burning in her eyes. "I did always want to see what that deck of yours could do at nationals! Can't wait for it to lose!" |

"Heheh... Oh, I'll show you with great pleasure." He said while they walked towards the elevators leading to one of the unused GIRS rooms. The GIRS is a giant highly advanced piece of technology. It's a white circular room which has the ability to project a world around them similar to Cray, as well as projecting the units in a very realistic way while playing the game. It's one of the main attractions in the Cardfight Vanguard scene. As the two went out of the elevators, into the room, they prepared their decks and placed them on the pedestals inside the room. The GIRS system then started it's simulation while a chosen battlefield was projected around us. It seemed like somewhere in the United Sanctuary, which was fitting as both of the fighters uses clans from the United Sanctuary. "Are you ready? Because there's no going back once we start." He taunted with a smirk once more. |

Mirei set her deck down on the small pedestal before her. She couldn't wait to watch that smirk get ripped off of his face. She was never a fan of these huge GIRS chambers. She much preferred the huge open arena upstairs, but Kouji had burned it in her brain that she wasn't allowed to use it for every single fight. Damn managers. The futuristic city materialized before them. Clean white buildings, accented with blue neon that matched the azure sky. Synthetic wind blew threw the field, as the two fighters eyed each other up. Mirei placed her hand on the hologram card that sat on the table. She raised an eyebrow that said, are you ready? But she didn't bother asking. That smirk pissed her off too much. "Stand up! Vanguard!" "Black Sheep, Kuroiel!" The arena filled with wind now, as the floating black sheep appeared behind her, clutching a comically oversized syringe. |

The wind started blowing as both fighters said the magic words.![]() "Stand up! Vanguard!" ![]() "Black Dragon Whelp, Vortimer!" The game had begun as the sheep and the young knight had appeared on the battlefield. Kiryuko looked at the projected Vortimer that was behind him. He was so close, yet he wasn't at all. It felt so real, yet it was all an illusion. For a moment the guy seemed sad, but then looked back at his opponent and seemed ready to fight. "I got challenged by you, so I guess I'll give you the advantage of going second." He said in a sarcastic way. "Draw!" He then fiercely shouted as he drew the card with force from the top of his deck. He picked one of the cards in his hand, held it in the air and slammed it onto his Vanguard as he shouted out loud. "Ride! Scout of Darkness, Vortimer!" ![]() The young boy transformed into an older version of himself. Looking fiercer and stronger than before, his blade at hand, as the wind started blowing from behind him towards the sheep. "Because Scout of Darkness has ridden upon Black Dragon Whelp, I can activate my starter's skill!" He said as seven cards from the top of his deck started appearing in front of him, hidden from Mirei. "Heh, found one." he said while giving an evil smile towards her. ![]() It was the Grade 2 version of Vortimer, 'Black Dragon Knight, Vortimer'. As his deck was being shuffled again he said "On top of that, as long as Black Dragon Whelp, Vortimer is in the soul, Scout of Darkness has +1000 Power." He picked up one of the other cards in his hand and placed it onto the board. "I also call Falcon Knight of Azure to the field..." he quickly said. ![]() "...after which I end my turn." Catigern frowned his eyebrows as he looked at his opponent, wondering what her first step would be. === Kiryuko VS Mirei 5 - Hand - 5 0 - Damage - 0 42 - Deck - 44 --- OOC: I heard that you are busy at the moment with a wedding or something. Don't worry about our fights, take it slow if you need to. (I actually am trying to make some art for the custom cards I made, which obviously takes time. So I'll probably use proxy images until I've created them.) |

OOC: EVEN IN THE FACE OF HETEROSEXUAL MARRIAGE, I SHALL NOT BUCKLE! I WILL DO MY BEST TO DO MY DUTIES AS MOD AND hopefully use angel feather well "Draw!" Mirei took the top card of her deck, and put it into her hand. "Ride!" ![]() "First Aid Corgi!" The unimpressed sheep was replaced by a peppy looking corgi. Kuroiel moved to the back and left. "Then, Call! Thousand Ray Pegasus!" ![]() The winged horse and it's army of syringes hovered to the right of the corgi. "Thousand Ray attacks!" The army of syringes shot forth, pink beams filling the arena, with sights on the sinister dragon knight. OOC: I am not sure, but I take it you are boosting the Pegasus, so I'm just gonna go with that. --- "No guard." were the words that he immediately said without any hesitation. The thousand laser beams came closer towards the knight, yet he stood his ground. It's as he wasn't afraid at all. With his sword into the ground, holding both hands on top of the pommel of the sword, he embraced the lasers. An explosion of pink, following with smoke coming from the place where the knight stood. "Damage Check." ![]() "Critical Trigger. Power and critical to my Vanguard." He said, not even surprised at it. ![]() As the smoke cleared up, the knight was still standing in the same position. Almost like it wasn't even hurt, though you could see a little bit of the damage on his armor. He grabbed his sword from the ground and pointed it at the next attacker. "Next?" He asked her, not too impressed about his opponent yet. Edited by EchoCrescent, Jun 15 2017, 02:34 PM.
