This was an Idea for a fan series I had a while ago but didn't feel like posting until now. Rather than post several character profiles and plug up the threads, I made a more or less short plot summary. Obviously some details are lacking and need to be expanded on but I will put more work into it in the future. I don't really have the means to produce it (at least at the moment) but I figured you guys can get some entertainment out of the concept at the very least. Hopefully it is not cringey. If you want, I could share some of the other clan reps of the story although some of them have details that are rather spoilery so I may not be able to say much (and Japanese names can be hard to come up with). Anyways Here is the plot: When local student/oddjobber/miser Hyomaru Kurokawa gets a deck in the mail, he noticed a blue and black flag with four diamonds in the corner of the cards that matches the flag on a familiar building (the Magallanica branch) he passes by on his way to school/work/home. Thinking it's some sort of promotional stunt, he decides to check it out and ends up bumping into a familiar Granblue user who introduces him to the world of vanguard. Along the way, he would meet Miyabi Akatsuki, a tomboyish Nubatama user that holds firm in her beliefs and Roald Mulliken, a wealthy yet relaxed and easy going foreigner who plays Link Joker. Together they form team mountaineer: A vanguard team to compete in all sorts of events such as tournaments organized by card shops/ the branches. However, not all is well in the area. The idol Mikan Kirishima, player of Bermuda Triangle believes her clan has been mocked and ridiculed as well as underestimated compared to the other clans of Cray. She seeks to punish those who she feels have wronged her clan and to show the world how strong Bermuda Triangle can be. She thus seeks a method to avenge "the honour of the clan" which seems to involve her team: Team Silver Hand and the interwoven fates of Earth and Cray... In the lore of the story, the antagonist's main grade 3 (Black Whirlpool Charybis) wants to overthrow the leaders of Magallanica/her clan (does that mean Riviere and Maelstrom are suddenly relevant ? :D) in order to "Save Bermuda triangle from war, oppression, incompetency and themselves amongst other reasons." The protagonist's avatar (Icehammer Shark Steelhead) is connected to the government and obviously wants to stop this. Both will recruit various allies from the different nations in order to foil each other's plans. Thanks for reading and hopefully you guys wish to see more of this~~~ |

Hi Robo! Where were you? Now to your ideas... I could see why Japanese names could be hard to come up with... You want the names to have meaning for your characters correct? And I never thought to see the day where Bermuda Triangle could be seen as an antagonistic clan... That could be an interesting idea indeed. Don't worry about being thought as cringey... Don't let your ideas be dreams! I wonder what our fellow users have to say... Because one person's thought may not be enough. |

Hey thanks for your reply/interest and sorry I'm late- my job and family stuff are keeping me busy but I guess other people are busy too as I don't see many of the others posting as much as they used too anymore :(. Part of the reason why most of the characters have Japanese names is because I share a setting with Vanguard which I did in order to include original/G characters If I so desired (the story happens after the events of vanguard G or NEXT at the least). Most of the problems I have the names are small and minor in the grand scheme of things. One such example is that one of the characters apparently shares a last name with a character from a popular(ish) 90's show whose last name is pretty unique. Which isn't too bad but may raise some eyebrows. And I really like the antagonist I made. I feel that a Bermuda triangle as an antagonist's clan is quite unique (at least I hope) and offers a different perspective. The only problem I have with her is that her goal/motivation seems similar to Leon (which I didn't realize until now. To add fuel to the fire, coincidentally both of their grade 3's reference whirlpools.) I may post this on Reddit once things are more fleshed out but I feel like they don't really like these sort of things there... I may also need to find a way to illustrate in the future as well. |

People still post... Just everyone has different schedules... Hopefully something can be done... Don't want to see this place die ;A; So you're worried people are going to make comparisons? That is a concerned right there... Hoefully you can work it out. It's your story... Just do what you think is best. |
