Alright, as many of you already know I am leaving to start my University degree at Manchester on Thursday the 14th.

Due to the personality type that I have... (I have an addictive personality lol) I cannot allow myself to continue to play OSRS during term time OR I WOULD FAIL.
I will not be taking anything with me aside from my phone. No laptop, no nothing. I have no intentions of playing OSRS using University PCs.. However its annoying because I didn't even know you could do that and now its at the back of my mind.. (Thanks Speak now).

Anyhow, I will play during holidays! I am also fully aware that I may use my current RS app (that lets you log in and chat to your friends/CC but that is literally it). So I may still end up logging in from time to time, but this will not be from a PC I won't be able to play, only chat to friends. Even so I want to try to avoid this, and so will most likely delete the app, however again, I'm aware of my... issues, so I doubt I can go cold turkey completely.

Lets not forget OSRS on mobile AKA Jagex fucked me over. Unfortunately I happen to have a Samsung galaxy S7 Edge... One of the best phones currently on the market.. I also have 20GB of monthly data... I don't know how I'm going to tackle this when the time comes, I don't know how badly it will effect my Uni course, if I have to send my phone back home I will do. So again. You will most likely see me logging in when its released sometime in November!.

Now to the good part.

I have played Runescape since 2005. 99% of the time on my own. I never used team speak or skype (and still don't) I never really had a community, my friends list would literally consists of 5 people who I rarely talked to, I played by myself and that was that. I never understood the part of finding an online community. I never used forums, it was just me, alone.
So it is not an understatement when I say I get emotional thinking about this community and how lucky I am to finally be able to understand what bieng in an online community feels like!.
The past 4-5 Months have been the most enjoyable of my entire RS career. I have so many friends, who I see and chat/banter/speed with everyday, who I know and care about. I never thought I'd find something like this so late into playing Runescape. I can finally begin to see how enjoyable Runescape can really be when your part of an active community.

So thank you so much.

I will be back soon, and as I say. I won't be leaving until next week so you will see me in game until then!

*Edit* Shit I forgot how hard its going to be to not check this website everyday.... good luck me..

shout outs to my bffs and those that have 'put up with me' speeding and healer whoring the past few months.

DW I was joking. I found it funny that as I edited my post to include you, you changed your mind about disliking the post. Ultimate joke material kappa.

You will be missed Dino. So many good memories with you and the people you mentioned in your post!

Your observations about BA community couldn't be more accurate. I think many of us here can sympathize with the story you told in 2nd part of the post about searching and finding "the place you truly belong" in osrs, if I can paraphrase it like that. Allow me to briefly expand on the idea.

A very common and widely spread misconception about gaming in general is that it is in fact an immersion into Unreal- you can experience some sort of interaction with "talking pixels", but the factual distance of two players interacting with one another over virtual platform is insurmountable. According to that theory, you can never truly compensate the lack of physical presence of the person you are socially engaged with over the screen, therefore you must disqualify
the whole experience as the unreal. Ofc. everyone here knows that is complete bollocks.

A seemingly inconsequential act of two players dancing in osrs can have almost as much depth as the real dance, aside from the immediate sensory experience you'd be getting from the real thing such as smells and physical contact. However, overall "vibe" of the the person you're dancing with in osrs can truly be felt and it manifests either as discomfort or acceptance. It's amazing how you can instinctively decode these little brackets of data you're receiving over yellow text and emotes to create the accurate representation of the person in your mind. Ofc. he/she could be sending you questionable data about his irl persona, but it's all in good faith. As a matter of fact, they have a license to do so. In the end it's all about a "willing suspension of disbelief", and what you consider to be Real has to be in domain of your own subjective horizon. This simple truth is what's holding everyone in cba together.

To return to your post Dino: dancing with you, bantering, talking about "irl" (hate that bullshit term) problems etc. was very real. I am hoping you can find some way to occasionally drop by without triggering your addictive personality.

As for the uni, I wish you plenty of sex. Many many sex and many learning. Many sex and learning and little osrs. Bron is gay, too long post, serpent out

Big loss for the community here.. it brings me so much joy to know that people feel this way about the environment that Runescape, Barbarian Assault, and all of us have made for each other. I share your emotion towards our community and couldn't agree more with what you and Serp have said.
Best of luck my friend, you will be missed! <3
