Chambers of Xeric was done in place of this event on June 16, 2018.
This event has been further pushed back (as of June 23, 2018), due to the World Cup + server/CC shenanigans! We instead did Corp.
The new planned date for this (hype!!) event will be July 14, 2018!

Hello Everyone!

Once again, a special thanks to 430 and Faardo for sorting out this update on my behalf! For anyone who was unaware of what happened, I basically spilled a moderate amount of water over my laptop, practically destroying it (literally several hours before the event). I ended up getting a new laptop the day after with a whole lot of my savings.. In any case, I hope people will be available for this (literally) long-awaited event! (as of June 16, 2018)

Thanks to Hendi, iTaste, and others for giving me feedback on postponing this event, to when more people will be online! (as of June 23, 2018)

We will soon have planned a new variant to a popular game CBA has done - Hide 'n' Seek: BA Edition!!

The following information will be broken down into the Setup for the event, the Gameplay, and the Rules.

Setup:
1 Form teams at BA
We'll be forming Teams in Wave 1, World [TBD1]. Teams will consist of 5 people each, similar to races (join your captains' cc, as well). When you decide who's what, though, there'll be two roles to choose from: "Attackers" and "Hiders" ! The Attackers from each team are the ones finding everyone else hiding on all opposing teams. There must be 2 Attackers and 3 Hiders per team.
(edit, just thought of this)
To make things more BA-themed, all Attackers can wear fashionscape that is colored RED, while all Hiders can wear fashionscape that is colored GREEN, YELLOW, or BLUE!! Colored capes (team, dyed) should suffice.

2 Varrock (First Round) / East Ardougne (Second Round) - Prepare to Hide or Seek!
Once all teams have formed, everyone will meet in the Blue Moon Inn (first round, south-central Varrock) or King Lathas' castle (second round, East Ardougne). From here, all Attackers will world hop to World [TBD2], while the Hiders will find hiding spots for 5 minutes. During this time, put a sticky note to cover your minimap or drag your Runescape window off screen untill the minimap is gone. After the time is up, all Attackers will hop back to [TBD1] and will begin the hunt!

Gameplay:
*The winning condition of this game is to be the Last Team Standing; in other words, while your team is still alive, all opposing team Hiders must be found and eliminated for your team to be the winner. (The ENTIRE team wins if that team was the last one with Hiders left alive, regardless of who was eliminated from it!)

1 How to "Find" Hiders as the Attacker
If an Attacker finds an opposing Hider, they must stand next to them and PM an event host who was found, while the person hiding must PM an event host who found them. Note that once the attackers begin their hunt, hiders cannot move! Let's play out a scenario.

Spoiler: click to toggle

Attackers are also free to discuss with each other where they will go, if they choose to split up! (In other words, the only communication in a team's cc after the Attackers begin their hunt will be between the 2 Attackers; all Hiders should remain quiet!)

A clarification, thanks to Oakslayer's feedback:
If multiple people converge onto the same Hider, then priority goes to the first Attacker that stands next to the Hider, and says in Public chat "I found you!"

1b How to Hide from the Attackers - some tips
In response to Houred's questions on this forum, I've decided to update this post with some tips that you can implement to help you hide!
- Wear equipment / gear that helps you blend in with your surroundings
- The following metamorphosing equipment is allowed: Ring of Coins / Nature / Stone, Easter Ring
The following is NOT ALLOWED while hiding:
- Standing under a person / DD (stacked players, e.g. GE) / NPC / Items
- any other equipment not mentioned above is not allowed
- (an additional reminder) Moving / Communicating after the Attackers have been released is forbidden
- Hiding outside the map boundaries not allowed; check these boundaries when considering your spot!

2 Eliminating a Team + Continued Participation
If all of a team's Hiders have been found and eliminated, that team is out! However, the Attackers from that team can still participate in finding other Hiders! There is a benefit to continue hunting other players if your team is out...
If your team is eliminated and you were a Hider, unfortunately you'll be sitting out while in Varrock Square/ Lathas' castle until the end of the event! It just means your hiding spot wasn't good enough -- better luck next time! (This is mainly to prevent cheating by exploiting knowledge of where current Hiders may be to your team/ other teams, so that everyone has a fair chance of winning from the start.)

3 Awards
Once the last team standing is determined for each round, we'll all meet up in Varrock Square (1st round) / Lathas castle (2nd round) to announce the winners! Of course, we'll all rejoin CBA for the announcements!

Map Coverage:
The following boundaries will be used when hiding in Varrock (1st round) and East Ardougne (2nd round). Also, for Varrock, the Sewers can be used for hiding!

Round 1 - Varrock + Sewers
Spoiler: click to toggle

Spoiler: click to toggle

Round 2 - East Ardougne
Spoiler: click to toggle

*special thanks to 430 and Faardo for providing map boundaries + feedback!

Note that for both Varrock and East Ardougne, the following areas will be OFF-LIMITS to everyone Hiding and Attacking:
- Any Quest-accessible area (e.g. Shield of Arrav gang hideouts, Monkey Madness zoo pen, Plague City underground area leading to West Ardy, etc; all circled areas off-limits)
- Any Skill-accessible area (e.g. various Agility shortcuts, etc)
- Wilderness (e.g. north of Varrock Sewers gate, etc)

Additional Rules and Comments:
1 There should be no cheating of any kind here! The point of this event is to have fun, so there’s no reason to troll other people who will be enjoying the event!
2 If you discover a loophole that is not explicitly addressed from the given information and gameplay rules, please refrain from exploiting those loopholes! Again, this is to have fun with the event, and everyone should be given an equal chance to win!
3 Using the vanilla OSRS client is recommended for this type of event, so that everyone will be on the same playing field for this event. If this isn't possible for you, try and turn off any plugins in your 3rd party clients that may give you an advantage (i.e. names appearing over players, etc)
4 Regarding the transition between Varrock and East Ardougne, players will remain on the same teams. However, they can opt to change up their individual roles on a team; this is so people can choose to Hide + Attack in this event! It will also be some downtime to re-gear (if you change your role), and re-team (if teammates have to leave early, and new players can join to fill the empty spots).

tl;dr
- Cover your minimap during this event, and turn off 3rd party client features that give away people's names/ positions easily!
I. Varrock

1 We will form 5-player teams in Wave 1 room, World [TBD1], similar to races. Players will choose between Attacker (must have 2) and Hider (must have 3). Fashionscape designating your role (Red = Attacker; Green/Yellow/Blue = Hider) is recommended!
2 Everyone will gear up and meet in Blue Moon Inn. Attackers will then hop to World [TBD2] and wait for 5 minutes, while all Hiders will pick their spots. Hiders can only communicate general directions (not actual spots) to their Attackers as to opposing players going places during these 5 minutes.
3 Attackers hop back to World [TBD1] and hunt until the Last Team Standing is determined. Anyone found will leave their team's cc, and wait on standby in Varrock Square until the Last Team Standing is determined.
4 Once the round ends, everyone will meet in Varrock Square to announce the results in CBA cc!

-Intermission-
We will all head back to Wave 1 BA room (World [TBD1]) to reform teams, and re-gear if necessary. Teams will not be re-drafted; only roles can be changed among team members. If you have to leave during this period, we will attempt to find someone in the cc to replace you (so you keep the team of 5 for Round 2). Additionally, new teams can be made if enough new people join in during this time! (~10-15 min)

II. East Ardougne

1 Once teams have formed, everyone will travel to outside King Lathas' Castle entrance. Attackers will hop to World [TBD2] and wait 5 minutes for Hiders to find their spots. Hiders CANNOT give away information to their team Attackers as to opposing Hiders going places, and spots still cannot be revealed.
2 After 5 minutes, Attackers hop back to World [TBD1] and find opponents until the Last Man Standing is determined; same as above (people eliminated will wait outside King Lathas' castle entrance)
3 Once the round ends, everyone will meet at King Lathas' castle to announce results in CBA cc!

Lastly, this type of event may get pretty hectic when everything goes down! Given that I've worked on making this variant for Hide 'n' Seek, I will be one of the event hosts. It would be greatly appreciated if other people can volunteer to co-host, so the event runs smoothly! It would be recommended for anyone that volunteers to be on the CBA Discord, since voice chat would make things easier. (Feel free to comment below or PM me if you can help out!) Oh, and by the way - everyone playing in this event (besides the hosts) should NOT be in voice chat!

Event Hosts (those you'll PM when you find someone / have been found)

I will have the map boundaries edited into my original post very soon, so that should answer some of your concerns!

As for team communication to your Attacker during this stage, I've given this some consideration.. and there are reasons to be for and against this. To be against this would support the idea of a completely fair game, where everyone has an equal chance of winning. However...
I think it would be a great idea to communicate to your team's Attackers as to who may be going where. I will say that this type of communication can ONLY be done during this stage, when all Hiders are moving to their spots, and all Attackers are on standby in a different world. This type of communication is good in the sense of helping your team to win as a Hider, by eliminating whoever you can from opposing teams. Communication is key in BA, and while it will make things more hectic, it will also be more fun!
One comment I have on this rule is that it may be better if the boundaries are not as restrictive as they are here; perhaps an HnS that encompasses all f2p cities?
I will say that this is all experimental, as this will be the first time CBA plays this variant of Hide and Seek. Given this, I've made a compromise that will benefit CBA if it wants to use this variant in the future:

For Round 1 (Varrock), this type of communication WILL be allowed; all Hiders can use their clan chat to tell their Attackers any general information on opposing Hiders moving to certain areas (Hiders should NOT reveal opposing team hiding spots, as this ruins the point of the hunt!). Again, this can only be done while the Attackers are on standby, before they hop back (at which point there should be NO communication from then onwards).

For Round 2 (East Ardougne), this type of communication WILL NOT be allowed; all Hiders can only discuss with their Attackers places that they could probably hide in, and will not provide any assistance to their team Attacker where someone else may be going.

You can use a Ring of Coins/ Nature/ Stone to assist in hiding! However, you CANNOT dd (stand) on someone else (or other players/NPC's excluded from this game)!
